[8.0] "AEW Dynamite #329 was arguably the strongest show of the year so far, delivering consistent excitement and high-quality matches from start to finish. The card struck a nice balance between fast-paced singles bouts, dynamic tag team matches, and high-stakes multi-man contests, which kept the momentum going for most of the night. The variety of styles -- from the technical and high-flying work of Kevin Knight and Swerve Strickland to the hard-hitting street fight involving Garcia, Moxley, and Yuta -- made the show feel well-rounded and engaging. One of the biggest strengths of this episode was match quality across the board. The openers and mid-card matches were all entertaining, with strong chemistry between competitors and smart pacing that made the action easy to follow. Even the short matches were used efficiently, delivering clean, dynamic sequences without overstaying their welcome. Meanwhile, the longer matches built suspense effectively, particularly the Kevin Knight vs. Swerve Strickland bout, which showcased storytelling and tension that kept viewers invested until the finish. There were minor issues -- a few small lulls here and there, and some matches that didn't have the same level of intensity as the standout contests -- but they were not enough to significantly detract from the overall enjoyment. Commentary did a solid job of framing the action, and the crowd's energy helped elevate the atmosphere, making even quieter moments feel connected to the show's flow. In summary, Dynamite #329 was fun, cohesive, and consistently entertaining, with multiple matches that stood out and enough variety to keep the audience engaged. The minor pacing issues didn't prevent it from feeling like a high-quality weekly show."
[7.0] "Despite a standout main event, the remainder of the show was largely uninspiring, relying heavily on predictable finishes and promotional setups for next week's episode. While the action was competent and the pacing adequate, few segments felt meaningful or engaging in their own right. Ultimately, the show was a pleasant, watchable two hours, but it offered little beyond filler and hype, making it forgettable outside of the marquee match."
[7.0] "A really good episode of dynamite, this was really match focus and they all delivered. The segments also did a good job of progressing stories."
[8.0] "Pretty fun show. I enjoyed most of the matches here for sure.I'm glad Speedball and kevin Knight are getting such good treatment. Overall it's not perfect but still a great dynamite."
[7.0] "The match ups and variety made for some good television. FTR continue to be a low point. I don't think they are needed anymore. Death riders vs Don Callis Family got crazy. Omega vs Alexander was fun. Cool main event."
[8.0] "Great show. Funny to point out that some people are missing (Hangman, Bandido, Bucks), but it doesn't matter because the amount of talent and the card tonight is sick. I thought it was a very fun and enjoyable show, really smooth and cool to watch. The DR, Kenny and Swerve matches were so much fun. The opening MJF angle with Brody King coming for the title is well done. The rest of the evening is fine. Great Dynamite."
[6.0] "A decent match quality throughout, though not much in the way of interesting angles. Moxley and the Death Riders are giving off so many mixed signals right now that Moxley's kind of face turns looks almost like an accident in retrospect. I don't believe that to be the case, because he was talking about the purity of competition all throughout the C2, and now they're feuding with the largest heel faction, but the presentation is all over the place. Maybe this story is to get the rest of the Death Riders over as faces, but if that's the case they need to stop getting involved in matches and having Moxley cover for them. I suspect the plan is to have Kevin Knight get the better of Swerve in a year or less. Could be a big year for him. A very watchable episode which could be elevated with more interesting angles, but the in-ring stuff is fairly good for a TV episode."
[6.0] "I generally agree with Jonathan V93's opinion. Yes, the match quality was satisfactory, but this show featured many predictable victories for future challengers or already established champions. Only the women's tag team match was truly surprising. While this does create a threatening atmosphere for the champion, which was well-maintained by the opening segment, it's a bit too weak for a two-hour show. Fortunately, the crowd was energetic, which also helped make the episode enjoyable despite its flaws. In-ring quality: 2.5/5. Angles and segments outside of matches: 0.75/3. Bonus/malus: good atmosphere +0.25. Total: 5.75/10. Show watched on Triller TV."
[4.0] "Very mid show. It's starting to get to the point to where I don't even care how good the wrestling is because the shows are just so meaningless and nonsensical. The wrestling of course is great, it's ALWAYS GOING TO BE GREAT, but the storytelling is garbage, like ChatGPT wrote the stories. How are ur TRIOS champions taking INDIVIDUAL pinfall losses. It just isn't good booking, and the trios champions aren't even a team, they were just meshed together last minute because Hobbs left. ITS LAZY. MJF promos have zero substance anymore, they are the same filler garbage that Max criticized when he first came into the business. Idk if it's because he doesn't care anymore or if it's because Tony has nothing to do for him. But if you think for a second anyone believes Brody King is GOING to win or SHOULD win, it's nonsense. The womens division is a joke, there hasn't been a competent story in the company since Mariah May left. Nobody cares about FTR squashes, when we all know this is FILLER until Edge and Christian come back. The only thing of intrigue on the show is the potential of a Don Callis Family vs the Death Riders which doesn't even make sense because the Death Riders are playing babyface even though the faction was rebranded and changed to destroy AEW. Nothing makes sense, good wrestling isn't good enough anymore."
[8.0] "First AEW show i have watched since Worlds end (do love me a Wednesday and Saturday piss up) But i am really glad i fianlly got some free time to sit down and watch a full episode and it was definitely worth it. Everything on the show had some stuff i really enjoyed love that they are setting Brody up for a title match amognst all of the other top talent gunning for MJF right now. All of the matches did what they needed to do for me and had great action in them. Thought it was just a nice chill watch with a good crowd and a solid vibe and sets up Kenny as a big contender again after a great match and Joe and Swerve winning makes the title picture crazy but means we can have so many good matches to set up a contender for the Belt over the coming months. Overall a really great show with a super cool main event to cap of which was my match of the night."
[8.0] "A very fun episode of AEW Dynamite. I really liked how this show was spaced out, enjoyed the opener between Mike Bailey and Samoa Joe, a very good match, and let's hope Samoa Joe can re-enter the AEW World Title picture again. The Death Riders put down The Don Callis Family in a very fun Street Fight. Alec Pierce and Jordan Oliver made their official AEW Debut, and they took on the AEW World Tag Team Champions in FTR, which is such a big thing that they suffered a loss, but in the process were made to be some pieces of the future. Very excited to see what these guys do. Kenny Omega turned back the clock and got the win over Josh Alexander. Kenny Omega looked so great in the match seems like his body is starting to get healthy, and he's starting to get more aggressive with his pursuit of the AEW World Title. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford get a massive win and are climbing the AEW Women's World Tag Team ladder, as I can see them winning the titles in the coming months. The Main Event we saw an awesome match, it seemed like Swerve Strickland gave a big rub to Kevin Knight as he put on a hell of a performance and danced with one of the best in a very fun match. AEW has been on a roll, and it doesn't seem like anytime soon they're gonna slow down. Great stuff by everyone on the show."
[7.0] "Good episode... I don't think opening with MJF was a good choice, because then you'd pretty much have only matches after this, it shoul've been somewhere in the middle, but the card was exciting and the first two matches in particular delivered well."
[9.0] "A tremenous show all-aroud, top-to-bottom. This MJF's title reign has started off perfectly. No BS, good matches, great promos -- no edglelord, lame-ass shit, true champ talk. Program with Brody seems fun as hell. Speedball vs. Joe was a fun opening match. Some of the funniest interferences ever by Shibata. Death Riders vs. DCF exceed my expectations and turned out to be really good. Lance Archer's MVP of the match; great stuff from him. This program is shaping up to be dope. Thekla shoud beat Statlander next week. She can have good matches and, now, has also figured out how to incorporate her great charisma into her promos, which have gotten way better lately. FTR vs. Oliver/Price was decent. Solid showcase for the newcomers. Kenny vs. Alexander was really good. Kenny being a beast again and not having to sell his injuries is magical. Josh hella underrated, too. Penelope/Megan vs. Timeless Love Bombs was good. I'm glad Penelope is back; she's great. And Megan is a demon. Marina/Toni program fun as hell. Swerve vs. Knight was the best match of the night. I'm sure these two will see each other in a much bigger capacity in the near future; Knight has star written all over him. All the matches delivered and the programs they're going for are all hitting for me; half of the roster wanting a shot at MJF, the battle of heel ideologies between DCF and Death Riders, Marina vs. Toni -- it's great, exciting stuff. This show perfectly encapsulated what I love about the dub -- young, fresh wrestlers, no time wated with bs, great matches, good, simple stories. Real shit. 9/10."
[9.0] "Brilliant wrestling based show. I can't believe Omega/Alexander only went 12 minutes, otherwise we had some matches with good lengths on them. Main event MOTN, can't beat the story of up and comer vs experienced vet."
[7.0] "Joe beats Speedball, thankfully. Death Riders win a gritty trios match with DCF, but man Lance Archer is awesome. He needs gold. FTR smacking around some youngsters. Anytime we get Kenny Omega on TV is a treat. Favorite match was the women's tag team match with Bayne & Ford beating the Timeless Love Bombs. Boy did Mina take a scare bump! Swerve over Knight, but they showcase Knight well. The sooner he can get away from Speedball the better."
"Defo best Dynamite so far this year, Knight and Swerve shine, Kenny and Alexander have such incredible chemstriy, and Megan Bayne looks so solid; hoping to see her again in the World Title sphere as she's been wrestling really good for a hot minute."
"This was a good Dynamite. Don Callis commentary was strong, and matches were good as well. The women's tag match, Mina took a brutal spot where Megan Bayne threw her so far she went over Toni Storm, and she landed outside the ring. Also throughout the match Mina continued to take brutal spots. The Kenny Omega match was good, also good main event as well as Speedball vs Samoa Joe. Also the MJF vs Brody segment was well done. Solid show"
[8.0] "MJF gave a classic heel promo to start the show and Brody King interrupted to make a challenge for the world title only for MJF to decline and MJF ended up by running out the ring which was funny. Thekla and Sisters Of Sin promo was fine, Kris Statlander and Babes Of Wrath had an oksy promo. Samoa Joe vs Mike Bailey: The interferences from Katsuyori Shibata and Hook were not needed, Joe and Bailey proved that they can go in the ring and had a decent match, would like to have seen Bailey get the win here but Joe needed the win after losing the AEW Trios Titles on Collision on Saturday [***3/4]. Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta vs Hechicero, Lance Archer & Rocky Romero: A solid street fight with a few decent spots, PAC and Claudio Castagnoli getting involved may have not been needed, two heel trios teams fighting it out was interesting to see [***1/2]. Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood vs Alec Price & Jordan Oliver: Oliver and Price made the most out of their debut match in AEW, FTR winning this non title match was not surprising, could have had more time [**]. Kenny Omega vs Josh Alexander: Omega got the win here against Alexander in what was a solid match but given more time they could have elevated their performance here [***1/2]. Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm: There was an obvious botch that no one could ignore, otherwise it was a solid match for the women's division [**3/4]. Swerve Strickland vs Kevin Knight: What a main event for Dynamite, Knight went against a former world champion in Swerve and put up a great fight even if Knight lost, some noteworthy moments [****1/2] "
[9.0] "9.5 Great TV show. Especially for the fact that some of the matchup times needed to be adjusted due to the Collision change. The wealth of talent shown brightly here on this episode and the matchups were all clicking. 2 of the contenders for the world title got to advance their cause while also allowing their opponent get some shine. Same goes for the world tag matchup. The DCF vs DR stable matchup is interesting and shows DR is a tight group while DCF is a but all over the place at the moment. Curious where this leads. Great show all the way around! Bravo!"
[6.0] "The episode was pretty good, though it also wasn't very eventful in terms of angles. The matches were good, though I'd only say the main event was great, some of these matches felt like they went long for the sake of being long to fill up time that could have been uses for angles, particularly the first 2. It kinda felt like a really stacked Collision rather than a Dynamite."
[9.0] "What a fun show. MJF sounded different tonight--for the better--and I dig the potential of him vs. Brody King. The bell-to-bell was good-to-very-good on this Dynamite. Speedball, Price and Oliver, Kenny, and Kevin Knight all stood out. There was not a bad segment or a bad match in sight. The type of episode that reminds you why you watch AEW: exciting young talent, great wrestling, cool characters, "It's already the main event? ! " pacing, and emotional investment. Bravo."
"8/10 - Really solid episode across the board. MJF vs Brody is gonna rule, no need for long promos here. Great in ring action in every match with some standouts being Speedball, the newcomers Price and Oliver, and Kevin Knight continuing his ascent up the card very rapidly. I thought Bayne and Ford looked cohesive with some cool tag team moves. Great promos from the Triangle of Madness and the Babes of Wrath. Kenny vs Josh was a banger but that was to be expected. Great show tonight."
[10.0] "Not a single thing here I didn't like. Loved the focus on Speedball and Knight. Speedball has been a favorite of mine forever and The Jet has impressed me big time. Death Riders have a really interesting dynamic going on and MJF has done really well at squashing my doubts of him with the belt. Can't complain about anything tonight."
[8.0] "[8.0] The January 21st, 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite was an improvement over last week's show and it ends up being a fun show with competitive matches and okay segments. The highlights for me was the Trios Street Fight, The World Title picture being the focus of the show, Prices & Oliver's debut, Omega vs. Alexander, Women's Tag Match and the spectacular main event. The only thing keeping this down was the lack of meaningful promos but overall great show and I'm excited for next week!"
[9.0] "A very efficient and exciting episode of AEW DYNAMITE. I thought everyone that was on the show did an excellent job of furthering stories. Tony Khan has put a focus on the championships, making each match and win feel important. Each match on the show was fantastic, especially for a weekly TV show, and I love how important the World Heavyweight Championship feels. The future is bright with Kevin Knight, he could be a World champion as a heel or babyface. Great to see Kenny, Samoa Joe, and Swerve each do their best to help get the newer guys over. Alexander, Bailey, and Knight all shined tonight. Oliver and Price look like another much needed talented tag team, they're timing could still use some work but they'll be outstanding in no time. The tag team division is slowly coming back to life. I hope DYNAMITE continues to be this efficient and awesome. Only complaint is, the show would benefit from another women's feud or two. The women's tag was great and the Triangle of Madness vs. Stat & Babes of Wrath feud is coming together nicely, but I want some more women's feuds cooking up in the background throughout the show too."
[8.0] "Opening segment achieved a simple goal. Setting up Max's next mini feud while the other contenders garner momentum. The execution was solid and MJF was in fine form. Brody was good too and I love how organized they're being in setting up longer term contenders while keeping Max busy. Very good. Great video pack for the trios title win. Jetset rodeo promo was fine. Even speedballs slight awkwardness didn't derail it. Hangman's response to Knight for advice was also interesting. Speedball v Joe was fantastic from the start. That early chop from Joe was resounding. The interference from the opps was a positive (in terms of Bailey operating as an underdog). Horsecock chants popped me. This was a clinic and I was into Taz's heel commentary. Good to see that Joe isn't just magically out of the title pic. They didn't explain why the death riders are facing the DCF for those who missed collision. Fans were more into the match than I was because the Mox character and DR situation doesn't really make sense to me. I did like Lance putting Yuta through the table. Despite the narrative not making sense, I did think the late parts of the match were fun, especially the closing stretch with PAC & Claudio. Fine, simple promo from Mox afterwards too. Massive improvement from Julia and Skye on the promo. Thekla returned to form on the mic as well here. The only real issue was her last line about being toxic. FTR match moved at 100mph due to time which led to minor imperfections (timing and move sequencing to name a few) I noticed here and there but good showing from the newbies given the difficulty of execution. They should've had them cut a promo beforehand though. Give wrestlers identities. Cosmic Babes response promo was very well designed and delivered. Stats confidence grows everyday. Asides the prematch attack, Alexander v Omega started a bit slow. Fortunately, it didn't take long to pick up. Too much happened outside the ring but Kenny looked great and the final stretch was good. Solid Omega post match. Technique by Taz segment was great. Women's tag match had its moments but came together pretty rough (even beyond the initial scary spot) and Marina still being heel reminded me of how baffling the death riders dynamic is. Commentary quality slightly dipped again tonight asides Taz who I felt was kinda carrying when I paid attention. Main Event was a banger of a showcase for Kevin Knight. Great to see that they're following up on the momentum he built in the C2. I've heard people interested in a Fletcher feud but if you're building someone, better to use guys who are 100% established (as characters) rather than 70% so good they're using hangman/swerve."
