[9.0] "They say nostalgia is the best pure, all-natural drug. And Homecoming back at Full Sail after 5 long years proved that. Being the original "alternative" to the main roster, Black and Gold was one the greatest eras in WWE history in terms of storytelling and even more so matches-wise. And even though not all of the "legends" were able to show up, I was pleasantly surprised to some of them. The action tonight was great, especially DIY v Melo and Trick, but a bit rushed. I feel like for a special Homecoming episodeThey should have started earlier so they could have more time to let things breath. Also the Goat Finn Balor finally came out to "Catch Your Breath". And I popped hard for that. 9/10"

[7.0] "A cool watch for long time NXT fans, like myself, but, although everything was good (not you, Lexis), nothing got to be great. At the end of the day it wasn't a Black and Gold NXT (not all the "homecomers" were from Black and Gold, also), but a 2025 NXT with stars from yesterday. Maybe I'm hard because of how much I liked NXT past in the day, but I feel this could be way better. Bittersweet, not necessarily in a bad way."

[9.0] "Very fun, nostalgic and intresting episode. We could see the legends like a Triple H, Shawn Michaels, William Regal (their segment was good) and younger NXT graduates, that bring on the show very fun logical way that WWE can do. The other like Finn Balor and DIY showed up with their best theme songs, what were very awesome. Maybe this episode was filler and we can't got great developing of the stories, but I don't expecting this on special episode. The main issue was The Grayson Waller Effect, where Oba Femi and Trick Williams agreed to match for both titles next week. I don't like this, but it can be something good. Overal, I wanna say that I enjoyed this show so much and hopefully WWE doing this like a tradition."

[8.0] "This episode of NXT was incredibly enjoyable and brought with it a powerful sense of nostalgia. From the opening moments, I found myself transported back to those earlier days of the brand, when NXT aired weekly from Full Sail University on both the WWE Network and USA Network. There was something truly special about seeing the show revisit its origins, especially with so many NXT alumni making memorable appearances throughout the night. Having stars like Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and Shayna Baszler return felt like a homecoming. Their involvement brought back so many memories of classic matches and moments that defined NXT's early identity. The energy in the arena was electric, reflecting how much it meant for both the fans and the performers to return to this iconic venue. It showcased the tight-knit community that has always made NXT unique within the wrestling world. Every match on the card delivered, from hard-hitting contests to fast-paced technical showcases, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. The segments between matches were lively and engaging, filled with meaningful interactions that celebrated the alumni's legacies while spotlighting the current roster. Each element of the show seemed crafted to honor the past while also encouraging excitement for NXT's future. I was genuinely impressed by how seamlessly the episode blended nostalgia with fresh storytelling. It was not just a tribute to the Full Sail era but a reminder of why NXT captured so many fans' imaginations in the first place. Seeing beloved former stars interact with new faces was a highlight, providing both emotional moments and thrilling action. Watching this show made me wish NXT could return to Full Sail more frequently, as the intimate atmosphere and the enthusiastic crowd added so much character. Even if only for one or two special episodes each year, it would be a wonderful tradition and a treat for long-time fans. All in all, this was one of the most enjoyable NXT episodes I've experienced in quite some time--a fantastic and heartfelt celebration of what makes NXT so special, both past and present."

[10.0] "Really good show. I didn't mind that much the black and gold nxt nostalgia cameo, but just having some big star from the main roster of course make the show better and more interesting. The three tag match were all really good. The most interesting thing (honestly really unexpected) was the grayson waller effect that announced a title vs title match for next week. I guess it will not have a finish but still even in that case it would set up a sort of tna invasion (they also teased it talking about tna wrestler being pissed of about that match). There wasn't anything really bad, just some random cameo that could make sense in this sort of one off nostalgia show."

[9.0] "Loved it, a fun nostalgia show, almost perfect, everyone getting their old theme songs here, Bobby, Shayna on the backstage, Tyler Breeze debut look... it all just felt right in the place in my heart for me, i'm this guy who was watching NXT from 2016, and it was the best years for me, that was a show directed for me."

[7.0] "A fun nostalgia show with good tag team wrestling and a nice mix of current stars, along with those from NXT's past. I thought it would be all babyface wins, but there were some heels who won, too. No surprise that Ethan Page beat Tyler Breeze, who was sharp in that match. The Carmelo Hayes/Trick Williams team was a heel team that got the win, but that was the right move since Melo is getting a US Title shot on SmackDown. The two women's tag team matches were both very good."

[7.0] "The show was expected to be good, and it was. It was nice to see the older stars of NXT back facing or supporting the newer stars of the company. Solid matches, return of original themes and good segments. Can't lie, the audio not being on during Bobby Roode's return was brutal and quite cringe. Good show otherwise."

"6.5/10 I guess. Match quality was fine but nothing noteworthy. The major problem to me is that you're already expecting the likes of Sami, Bobby, Finn to show up coz WWE already announced their appearances, and you're just waiting for them to appear rather then anticipating and being shocked by them showing up. Not a whole lotta story advancements which I get, but the NXT vs TNA winner-takes-all match is hella major and is prolly leading to the supposed TNA invasion that's been teased. It's match announcements like these that make you wanna tune in."

[6.0] "WWE NXT's Homecoming was a warm welcome back to Full Sail University but manages to miss the mark on terms of an actual special show and feels more like nostalgia bait to an extreme extent. Most of the NXT returnees were regulated to formulaic backstage segments. Matches were okay for the most part but underwhelmed due to booking decisions. Segments were weak too and the main event was okay. Overall, a decent show in general but underperforming considering the hype going in. [***]"

[6.0] "A nice little nostalgia show when NXT had it's best time as the black and gold brand. On the other hand it showed the major differences to the product how it is today. Black & Gold NXT was the best version of NXT with a good run for 3 or maybe even 4 years."

[7.0] "The matches were good but some felt a bit rushed. There were some cameo appearances from Shayna Baszler and others who haven't appeared on the show in ages. Charlexa vs Culling was great and showcased Tatum's impressive athleticism well. She does things Tiffany Stratton does and more and it's really impressive how good she is in the ring. Carmelo and Trick vs DIY was even better, lots of great action in that match. Ethan Page vs Tyler Breeze was surprisingly good considering Tyler's ring rust although it was obvious he wasn't going to win that match. The main event, while it did have some great action felt a bit hurried and had an underwhelming finish due to interference. The women didn't get to do that much because of the nature of 6 person tag matches, but the talent showcased in that match was undeniable."
