[8.0] "Three good matches for Smackdown, some decent segments with Brock Lesnar's segment being good when R-Truth coming out and being himself. Sami Zayn vs Rey Fenix: MOTN, A great match to start Smackdown, they had such good level of chemistry and this was PLE worthy, the crowd was vocal throughout, some decent counters and good sequences throughout, Zayn winning was nice to see but kind of wished that Fenix got the win and the title but if Zayn's reign is gonna continually be like this defense it should be a fun reign, good booking here and a great match [****1/4]. Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill: Better than their match at Summerslam, they had a solid match and the double countout outcome was an interesting way to go [***1/2]. Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton: Two veterans doing what they do best and that is telling a story through putting on a solid match that gave McIntyre credibility and the win, Orton selling his knee was in the right worked way in what was a decent main event match for Smackdown [***3/4]."

[4.0] "Christ they need to do the draft soon and get some more talent on this show as once again it was hot ass if you ask me. First we had a contender for worst segment of the year between Truth and you know who (criminal) it was god awful. Then was the only high point of the night with the really good match between Zayn and Fenix although i have a gripe can they stop showing the people who are going to face Sami the good part of an open challenge is the surprise. We then had some regular crap backstage stuff a pointless segment for the women's US title (free my shooter Giulia). we then got some terrible video packages for the Wyatts and Solo. We then got another dog shit segment with the Miz and the Secret hervice. we then got a pretty meh women's title match with a shit finish to the match. We then had a good main event with some nice psychology but dragged a little with a dumb finish before Cody came back to challenge Drew. Rough show once again made worse by Booker T at the desk . I think we got some more Alister Black lore but in 2025 i would rather get a lobotomy then listen to him cut the same promo he has for the last near decade. I will say i did like the Cena and Brock package making it two parts is wank though. Also there is defiantly a joke i could make about WWE using a Drake song but i don't think it will go down well so i will leave it."

[8.0] "A solid episode it was. We have a 3 very good mathes that a much bigger than we got usually. A few short segments/video packages is normal, but with Lesnar and Truth was very fun moment and Cena/Lesnar story have an intresting retrospective. Maybe stories that developed weren't so much, but they got a many time. Overall that is the best episode of SmackDown for a long time."

[8.0] "This was an excellent episode of SmackDown. I appreciated that the show highlighted matches featuring some of the brand's top talent, something that has been lacking since Road Dogg took over as showrunner. The WWE United States Open Challenge, led by Sami Zayn, has been successful so far, with Sami Zayn and Rey Fenix delivering an outstanding match. Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton also had an entertaining bout, although it ended in a double count-out. The main event was engaging, as Drew McIntyre secured a win over Randy Orton. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made his return, announcing a match at Wrestlepalooza against Drew McIntyre for the WWE Title. Overall, this was an enjoyable episode, and credit is given where due. However, I still believe Road Dogg's contributions to Creative continue to hinder the show's overall quality."

[9.0] "Apart from the giulia segment, a great all around episode. All matches were good, in particolar the jade tiffany match was a surprise and a big improvement from the summerslam one. The opening angle was fine but kinda random and doesn't explain anything about brock's attack, it looks like they are selling it just like the ending chapter of their feud considering the video package. The cody return is a blessing considering that cena will not appear anymore on smackdown."

[8.0] "One of the better smackdowns of the past couple months. The Brock promo wasn't the greatest but at least he showed up. Still don't know why he's doing this to Cena but I guess there is still next week as he is also advertised. I enjoyed the Giulia segment, regardless of the shenanigans, she is getting tv time which is the best thing that could happen to her right now. Sami v Fenix was the highlight of the whole episode, with a great match spanning multiple segments.. sucks for American viewers that had to deal with Picture in Picture but us internationals got one hell of a match!"

"the US championship match was the only think watchable, the opening promo was awkward. I thought that the Jade/Tiffany match could be better than the previous one, but Jade still needs to improve on the ring. Mid-card champion doesn't mean that have squash matches and less tv time. Main event was okay...oh, also It's good to see/hear the NXT commentator team for this week."

[9.0] "This was one of the better SmackDown episodes of the year, similar to last week, thanks to the great in-ring action. The Zayn/Fenix match was awesome, and the McIntyre/Orton match was also well done. Cody Rhodes also returned to set up his Wrestlepalooza match with Drew McIntyre. It was a quick and simple way to make it official."

[6.0] "Booker T came up from NXT to commentate this event. First match was really good, The Brock truth segment was ok. Idk. I actually enjoyed Brock more than truth here but that could just be because of my dry humor. Tiffany vs Jade was not that bad, but didn't like the unremarkable finish which they did to protect both superstars and to those who thought Jade lost her push after summer slam I don't think so. Giulia vs bfab segment was pointless. G is such a good wrestler so why waste her in a beat down segment instead of an actual match? Drew vs Orton was ok nothing special but well executed. There were more segments but basically ok show could be better could be worse. People watch SmackDown because they want to see their favorite wrestlers but the quality of the show is rarely up to par with what it once was."

"[7/10] Decent episode this week. The lack of tag-teams was surprising, but at least the show held up without them. Sami Zayn's open challenge is off to a good start. Fun Rey Fenix match. I'm hoping the USC open challenge ends with a surprise NXT call-up: Oba Femi or Ethan Page? Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill had some cool moments, but it feels as though they don't gel particularly well in-ring; felt a little disjointed at times. Great to see Giulia on-screen after last weeks crickets - a short story-building segment with dialogue was definitely the right play here. I hope they have a plan for the women's division in the immediate future; NXT call-ups (Sol, Jordynne, Lash, Fatal Influence, and/or Blake) and trades (Lyra, Bayley, anyone) would help this division a huge amount at this point. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre was decent; did Randy just decide not to play ball towards the end there? Was absolutely not expecting Cody back this soon. Wrestlepalooza is stacked."

[4.0] "Brock Truth promo, sucked. Split pants. Theres a metaphor there somewhere. Rey vs Sami two ad breaks, boring before that. Third ad break, f**k me. Better after the third break, but still not scratching the itch. Fenix seems to have been nerfed. But the match was at least solid after that THIRD break. At least it was a clean finish. Sami wins. 6.5/10 Giulia BFab segment, stagey nonsense. Performed unconvincingly even so. They can do better than this. Wyatts video package, this is where they are strong. Solid package. BFab vs Giulia. Exactly what I expected. No match, just a beat down. Kiana James and Michin involved. Who cares. Aleister black video package, fine. Looks like the priest stuff is still going. Is what it is. Cargill vs Stratton: rough before the ad break (I know). Stratton did some heavy lifting but it wasn't improving things. Jade did a blue thunder bomb like move that was decent, but most of the Jade led offence was ropey, but improved. Stratton nearly killed herself flipping of the rope to the outside, double count out finish. Mid match. Nia Jack after the bell for added nonsense. Miz and aldis backstage segment. Whatever. A drake song for a wwe theme. Wild choice. Lesnar/Cena ovw package. Not bad, a bit revisionist but not bad. Orton vs Drew: This was a thoroughly professional TV match between two vets that was probably too long, and went through multiple ad breaks. It was also, glacially paced at times and pretty bland and generic. The finish in particular was just stupid. Why would the referee block a kick to the head. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME THING DREW DOES FOR THE WIN. Make it make sense, I dare you. Cody comes out after, Yada yada. I didn't hate this match, but the finish was ridiculous. All in all, a fairly boring show if I'm honest. So the matches bar the opener were boring, and/or badly performed. ALL of the promo and backstage segments were poor and not even funny as a trade off. Smackdowns undefeated streak as the worst weekly show continues. That was hardly helped by adding the worst commentary team in the game to the desk. Booker T makes Micheal Cole look like the greatest orator alive."

[7.0] "Really good episode of Smackdown. Three strong matches all with stakes. Thought Sami and Fenix was particularly great but the other 2 matches did well and were given time. Giulia segment and Brock segment weren't great but neither overstayed their welcome. Loved all the video packages too keeping a lot of feuds moving. A continued return to form for Smackdown."

[3.0] "If not for the excellent Zayn/Fenix match & the good Orton/Drew match, this would be getting a 0-1 (as it is, 3 may be too high). 3 matches in 2 hours including a poor women's title match is simply not good enough. The Brock/R-Truth promo was awful, the Guilla segment was "meh" & the backstage stories were so-so. This was filler tv at best."

[8.0] "Another very cool SD, maybe SD will finally have some positive momentum. The opening segment is absolutely rubbish. It further reinforces the totally rotten construction of the Lesnar/Cena feud. The Zayn/Fenix segment is, unsurprisingly, excellent. This is the kind of wrestling we love. I think the Open Challenge idea is very cool and makes me forget the bad decision to give the US title to Sami. I'm glad to see a segment (which was pretty nice) about the US Women's title rather than a Giulia/B Fab match. The Wyatt6 video was nice. The Stratton/Cargill match was cool, in the same vein as their match at SummerSlam. There were a few minor botches in the match, but that doesn't detract too much from the quality of the match. The double count-out is very good, it makes a change from disqualifications. Despite a reign without any major feuds, Tiffy's reign is interesting for the matches. The Melo/Miz backstage segment further reinforces Miz preventing Melo from launching his career. The first part of the retrospective of the story between Cena and Lesnar is excellent, with the fourth wall being broken quite a few times in this package. I would still have liked to see promos between Cena and Lesnar to tell their story. The Orton/Drew match was cool, and McIntyre in psychopath mode attacking Orton's knee was very good. I didn't like the referee preventing Orton from doing his Punt Kick; that never happens in Orton matches. Cody's return is great news, and the announcement of the Cody/Drew match at Palooza is very good. I can't wait to see this match, which I've been looking forward to for quite some time."
