608.06.2025Smi-486.0The title picture for the US belt is now round and the first match underpins the starting positions before Backlash. Afterwards, Zelina Vega helps the Alexa Bliss back on track. Charlotte Flair drops in briefly and then Cargill and Jax go at it. And Fraxiom dupes the champions, which is certainly a big surprise. Unfortunately, much less surprising is the renewed negative trend in Carmelo Hayes' results. Once again, not much is coming together and now he's being joined by the career killer Mizanin. Showcase time for Rey Fenix with Andrade as a supporting player. Even Escobar is getting fed up with the non-results of the Garza camp. The show then ends with a loudmouthed John Cena taking one last RKO before Backlash. Solid entertainment.

2912.05.2025Sky2277.0Better than the usual Smackdown. This time the Bloodline tag was ticked off right at the start. Alexa as Zelina's partner felt a bit random but it seems like they will do something with her now. Charlotte made some delusional heel claims & got go-away heat. I hope she finally develops a new character (in an Alexa feud? ) instead of the same Flair shtick to make her interesting. Nia-Jade was better than expected and it probably was Jade's best match in WWE. Another good Fraxiom showcase which probably leads to a title match where Street Profits retain. Solid Aleister-Melo match. Andrade was finally freed from catering. I'm still not buying Cena's heel character where he tries to look as angry as possible. Overall, the build for this big match is underwhelming.

3212.05.2025RestlingThots 1) I hope Cena snaps and beats up R-Truth one day, and we see the dream match between the latter and his childhood hero. Triple H, please, do it. The story is there - just pull the trigger. Also, I hope R-Truth helps Cena to retain his title at Backlash. 2) Last week I asked for the Aleister Black vs. Carmelo Hayes match, and here we are. Ask and you shall recieve, or however it goes. 3) Last week I pointed out Berto deserving much more than just being a pawn in the hands of Santos, and this week we finally see the cracks in the connective tissue between him and Legado Del Fantasma. 4) It was once again another great promo by John Cena. They really got me with that fake Randy Orton, and for a moment I thought Cena would finally stand tall for once at the end of a go-home show, but, unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be.

3812.05.2025Kapi4.0Skippeable. Fraxiom match was pretty good, the mexican tag was also nice, the other matches were pretty mid, with Nia vs Jade being just awful. Storywise, not so much to highlight besides Alexa's return and Cena's promo, that I really liked but doesn't really add anything to the rivalrie.

5011.05.2025robbyplaha7.0The show opened with Damian Priest and LA Knight teaming up ahead of tomorrow's Backlash Match. Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa displayed solid tag team chemistry, leading to a strong start for the event. The post-match chaos, featuring all participants in the Fatal Four Way Match for the United States Championship, was entertaining. Drew McIntyre made a grand return, raising the WWE United States Championship to conclude the opening match. Zelina Vega's partner in the tag match was the returning Alexa Bliss, which served as a decent filler. Though this match didn't particularly captivate me, I enjoy the stable of Alba Fytre, Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven, who are well-received by the crowd. Although the match was executed well, I found the ending unsatisfying. Jade Cargill had a strong performance, and I appreciate her recent booking following her departure from the Bianca Belair Tag Team, focusing on rivalries with Naomi and soon Charlotte Flair. Nia Jax also had a decent match, but I was disappointed with her victory, as it feels like she should have lost to give Jade Cargill a new feud and allow Tiffany Stratton a fresh title storyline. The tag team match was spectacular, showcasing Fraxiom's impressive push and their excellent chemistry with The Street Profits. Fraxiom's victory over the WWE Tag Team Champions hints at a future title shot. Aleister Black performed admirably in this well-structured match. Carmelo Hayes deserves a more prominent storyline; his booking this year has been underwhelming compared to established talents like Bron Breakker, Lyra Valkyria, and Tiffany Stratton. Despite a few highlights in this match, the ending felt shaky yet foreseeable, as Aleister Black emerged victorious. It's frustrating how Carmelo Hayes's potential has been overlooked since debuting on the main roster. The tag team main event was enjoyable and essential for concluding the show while advancing the storyline between Angel and Berot against Santos Escobar. Andrade's opportunity to team with Rey Fenix was crucial, especially since he has been sidelined throughout 2025.

5411.05.2025TomTakagi7.0Opener was unspectacular (6) but built interest for the 4-way at Backlash. Drew backstage continues to be on a roll on the microphone and is going to turn himself babyface, if he hasn't already. Chelsea Green and her Secret Service continue to be fun and I'm enjoying her period of mourning. I don't know who I expected to be Zelina's tag partner, but I wasn't expecting Alexa Bliss. For one, she immediately overshadowed Vega. It's great to have her back though (she got a great pop in her home state) and I hope she's a regular presence on Smackdown now. The tag match itself was below average (5). Zelina flatters to deceive and her getting the US Championship was a misstep in my opinion. Oh, Charlotte's back. I suppose a match between her and Jade could be interesting. Alexa telling her "let's chat" is intetesting, also. Nia and Jade was better than I expected and even hit okay (6). I think beating Nia can still hold some cache for Tiffy and look forward to Naomi Jade 2. Weak promo segment leads to Fraxiom vs Street Profits, which was good (7) but not as great as the score here suggests IMO. Nice surprising result though and look forward to the rematch for the belts. Black vs Melo was pretty good too (7) and achieved a number of things with the finish. Run it back. I enjoyed the backstage segment with Fraxiom and MCMG as a) I want to see that match and b) it keeps MCMG and DIY both in the title picture. Smackdown's chaotic tag team scene continues! 4 luchadors having a pretty good (7) tag match shouldn't surprise anyone, and it looks like change might be coming to Legado. Ever since his 205 Live days, Berto has seemed a more natural babyface to me, and I'd be interested in seeing him tag with someone like Andrade for a change. Cena's closing promo was pretty good and had some hard truths for Randy Orton. Good heelwork often has some uncomfortable truths, so I enjoyed it. Orton once again ends up getting the upper hand and closes the show with the belt above his head. I'll give this a 7 for the last 3 matches and Cena's promo.

5711.05.2025Krzysztofwwe98 Good episode of smackdown with very solid ring action. did its job building the backlash and hyping the show. john cena's promo where he completely cooked orton gave a lot of their rivalry. great next segment probably their last together in their career. Profits deliverd banger one more time , and it's the reason why the're champions right now
5811.05.2025TheRabbitInTheBush5.0This show probably would have been better if the crowd wasn't so bad. No match really stood out. The build with Aleister Black is nice.

7011.05.2025ISimon19127.0As tiring as it is to watch 3 hours of SmackDown, this week there were some gems that saved the show, which were the incredible Street Profits vs. Fraxiom and John Cena's great promo at the end of the show. The US title mix was interesting but what interests me most is a possible confrontation between Jacob vs. Drew, the women's division is still terrible (hopefully things get better in the draft), and the tag division deserves more attention

7510.05.2025Jamildo25.0A largely bland and skippable show. The main event was John Cena finally showed up to work and went through the motions live on screen. He walked about, put on a pouty face and insulted the crowd for ten minutes before Orton hit him with an RKO. YAWN. Far from destroying pro wrestling, he is merely parodying it. Skippable episode for the go home to one of the most skippable PPV's of the year.

8710.05.2025BorrisCortes7.0A decent smackdown despite an average first half. The Damian, Kight/Solo, Fatu match is good but nothing special. I liked the dissension between Knight and Priest to show Fatu's desire to do the pin. Nice after match to tease the Backlash match and very good interview with Drew too. Despite a welcome return from Alexa Bliss, the women's tag team match was very average. Alexa Bliss is clearly the MVP of this match. We're hoping for a good booking from Alexa Bliss, don't want to see her with the ghostly Wyatt Six. Charlotte's promo sucks. I like the Tiffy/Flair match at WM41 but to say it's the biggest women's match at WM isn't true. Charlotte saying she wants to get back into title contention sucks. I hope that doesn't happen. The match between Jax and Cargill disappointed me. Cargill's least good match since his return. It was too slow for me even if the match is decent. Nia Jax winning is good because too soon for Cargill to be aiming for the top. Fraxiom/Street Profits is excellent. Everything about this match is good. The first part where Streets shows brutal wrestling and a second part with a high pace is very good. Making Fraxiom win is a very good choice. Can't wait to see what happens next. Black/Hayes is very cool, not as good as Black/Miz last week. Black's wrestling is good with some interesting footwork. Glad to see Hayes not losing clean. The last match of the night is very cool. More great wrestling, I'm not a fan of Rey Fenix's music update. Again, I loved this Cena promo. For me, the bottle thrown by the fan was work because the cameras kept filming Cena. Owens had a verbal spat with a fan after his promo, and the cameras were filming something else. The bottle was a good idea to show that Cena is detestable. Cena criticising an Orton who's underhanded, undisciplined, profiteering and doing the bare minimum is perfect because it's all true. The mention of the drug test was insane. Unfortunately I found the ending too repetitive with Cena. In every segment he ends up on the floor, HHH changes that a bit. Now it's time for Backlash.
