[5.0] "Two plain bad matches paired with two plain good matches makes for a perfectly mediocre show. Yoshi-Hashi vs Takeshita followed a standard '50/50 epic' structure, but I appreciated them treating this as a story of Yoshi-Hashi's fiery underdog efforts to tease the upset win, and there was good enough chemistry and energy, plus some genuinely creative counters and fun hope spots towards the end, to elevate this above your run-of-the-mill 50/50 epic. O-Khan vs Narita should've been a solid grappling-based match, but instead Narita had his generic brawling, beatdown work, and tired H.o.T shenanigans, while O-Khan was wayyyy too lethargic (even if you want to argue that that was caused by Narita in kayfabe) and was difficult to take seriously with his many goofy claw-gimmick attacks. ELP vs Moloney was pretty poor. Moloney hit a ridiculous number of big moves and even some high spots only a few minutes in, and not only did ELP survive it all but he never bothered to sell any real damage from any of it, instead just jumping up and going back to perfectly running and flying around only 20 seconds later. ELP's comeback offence was nothing remotely impressive either. Shingo vs Sabre was exactly what I expected from these two, with a nice story Sabre's limb-targeting mastery for which Shingo sold mostly really well. They got more generic and cheesy with 50/50 rapid trades and 'fighting spirit' spots as the match went on, but at least it was all well-executed in isolation, and their strike trades looked really good. Unfortunately the finish, with Sabre completely no-selling Shingo's Last of the Dragon, was absolutely absurd and definitely put a damper on the whole match. Ratings: Yoshi-Hashi vs Takeshita ***1/4. O-Khan vs Narita **. ELP vs Moloney **. Shingo vs Sabre ***1/4"
[7.0] "A mixed four matches of block action on the show you had a really great matches between Takeshita/YH and a Banger main event between ZSJ/Shingo which both delivered but i expected it as it was the 3 men that have made this block really good in most of their matches. The other two matches Narita/GoK was A good face performance from GoK but totally ruined by H.o.T bullshit (if any H.o.T members go through i might throw my laptop at the wall) then ELP/Drilla was a 5 minutes big moves sprint which did not really have any substance or story so fell a bit flat. So a mixed night but the opening and main event Block matches were good enough to raise my enjoyment as a whole"
[7.0] "A shockingly good card for this years G1 with only one or two stinkers up against a wave of solid matches. Match of the night was easily Konosuke Takeshita vs YOSHI-HASHI for me."
[5.0] "The main event and Yoshi-Hashi vs Takeshita aren't bad matches. The other two G1 matches were among the worst of the G1 this year, and then you have five undercard tags on top. I give a '5' because the best two matches aren't worth suffering the rest of the card for."
[7.0] "Two fantastic matches (Takeshita vs YOSHI-HASHI and ZSJ vs Shingo), one decent match (Narita vs O'Khan) and one very bad spot fest in Drilla vs ELP. But again a very decent night for this G1 which is better than i honestly expected"
[8.0] "Block B strikes again, with Narita's match not even being the worst of the night surprisingly. Takeshita vs Yoshi (****.25): Takeshita is a four star machine. Not one match of his has disappointed me this year. He really is amazing, and Yoshi-Hashi is a fun wrestler to watch, and these two delivered bombs to each other. Awesome match. Narita vs O-Khan (****): You know what, this was really fun. The grappling was fun, the interferences were done well, the submission spots were done well and this was really fun. JAY coming out to help O-Khan was smart. ELP vs Moloney (*): Way too short and was just a spot fest. I have a feeling that one of the matches went over time and cut this match short, which sucks because what we could've got would've been fun. ZSJ vs Shingo (****.5): Match of the night, obviously. A little surprised that Shingo has such a slim chance of making the play offs now, but the match itself was awesome as always."
