[5.0] "This would've been a plain bad night like the 1st night of this G1 if not for how strong that main-event was. The other 3 matches were all various levels of fine, but that's really not the level you should settle for with a G1, which made them instead feel really disappointing overall. Yoshi-Hashi and Moloney had mostly decent strikes, though their non-strike attacks and more complex sequences were always underwhelming. It also didn't help that they're both so plain and ended up working such a generic structure, but at least there was some energy. ELP vs Narita was ultimately weighed down by the lame H.o.T interference/cheating spots but it had decent enough work before that, with ELP's fun high-flying stunts (with solid crowd support following that) against Narita's grimy brawling and beatdown work, which initially made for solid face-vs-heel work. Takeshita vs O-Khan was a bad clash of styles. Takeshita mindlessly ran through all his signature spots as usual, but at least they all looked okay at the absolute least because of how athletic he is (even if his moves often still look underwhelming in connection), whereas O-Khan's gimmicky offence, especially the moves based around his Claw hold, still look barely better than mediocre, and he further holds himself down with his goofy character work. Their chemistry was mediocre and all their would-be big sequences/spots were predictable. As mentioned, Sabre vs Shota was this show's sole saving grace. It was an intensely worked match with a good story of Shota ultimately getting the win because all his strong leg-targeting was enough to slow Sabre down and limit the power of his signature holds. Shota still hasn't proven himself a future star yet, but he's definitely proven he can be a great wrestler. Of course this was MOTN on top of being the current MOTT. Ratings: Yoshi-Hashi vs Moloney **1/2. ELP vs Narita **1/2. Takeshita vs O-Khan **1/2. Sabre vs Shota ***1/2"
[7.0] "The Last two G1 Climax matches that being Konosuke Takeshita vs. Great-O-Khan & Zack Sabre Jr vs. Shota Umino are definitely the highlight of Tag 4 of this tour and all the other G1 matches ranged from eh to alright."
[5.0] "My least favourite show of the tour so far. [Boltin/Yano vs HoT] - 2 stars. [Kato/Uemura vs UE] - 2.5 stars. [Yasuda/Taichi vs HoT] - 1.5 stars. [Nagai/Tsuji vs TMDK] - 3 stars. [Tanahashi/Murashima vs War Dogs] - 2.5 stars. [Yoshi-Hashi vs Drilla] - 2 stars. [ELP vs Narita] - 1.5 stars (Worst of the Night). [Takeshita vs Great-O-Khan] - 3 stars. [ZSJ vs Umino] - 4 stars (Match of the Night). Average match rating: 2.44 of 5 stars (or 4.88 of 10). Rounded up to 5 for Cagematch."
[7.0] "Only watched the block matches and i was entertained Yoshu/Drilla was a solid well done 10 minute match that did what it needed, Ren/ELP was the same until H.o.T bullshit as per. GoK/Takeshita was really good to the point i was moved by GoK for the first time ever. Then the main event fucking slapped best match of the tournament so far and redemption from the WK main event so yeah 4 matches that i enjoyed watching and kept me entertained"
[8.0] "So far my favourite G1 day in terms of tournament matches, but 5 to 4 tag matches to G1 matches tanks the rating a bit. Last two matches are such bangers."
[4.0] "So, if it were for the G1 matches only this one would be more than a seven but there were undercard matches and those sucked hard. Also, the absence of Kidd was felt a lot there, it was obvious that the show was booked with him and Takagi included. **1/4"
[7.0] "Well apart from the match inovlving Ren Narita, for me all the matches tonight were good. I loved that day of action and strongly look forward to Tag 5."
[7.0] "I thought all the block matches delivered here. Some better then others, but still a good night. Yoshi vs Moloney (***.5): I thought this was pretty fun and had some nice back and forth. Some nasty bumps included but still an alright match, although I didn't expect Yoshi to win. Narita vs ELP (***.5): Another fun match despite the interferences. Narita surprised me with how much better his matches have been so far (hoping I don't jinx it). Takeshita vs O-Khan (****.25): Holy fuck O-Khan where has this side of you been? Takeshita has a way of bringing the absolute best out of people, and this was a great match. Good technicality, good action, good wrestling in general. Umino vs ZSJ (****.5): Definitely match of the night and one of the better matches between these two in recent memory. Good submissions, good near falls, and overall everything went better then it did in their WrestleKingdom match."
[7.0] "Not as good as the previous day's show. Zack/Shota and Takeshita/O-Khan were both great. The tag matches were all just there, as were the first two block matches. It's a shame Gabe/Shingo was canceled. All of Gabe's best matches are front-loaded in this tournament, unfortunately."
[7.0] "It's a middle-of-the-road middle-of-the-tournament G1 show. Definitely held up a lot by the co-main events, especially Shooter/Zack, with the other tournament matches nothing to write home about."
[7.0] "The tag matches were solid, Yoshi-Hashi/Drilla and Narita/ELP were decent, but the main event and the co-main event are what make this show. Truly great matches."
[7.0] "Decent to solid preview matches. Very solid G1 matches (especially the main and semi main), HoT stuff as always, but ELP made it still pretty fun"
