So ist's qualitativ ansprechend gewesen, in der Zusammensetzung der einzelnen Teilchen allerdings unpassend. Darkness Revolution's Verteilung ist Stardom's Grundsatz in Sachen Matchcardplatzierung, zum einen aufeinanderfolgend und zum anderen fast gänzlich von einander abgeschottet. Natürlich will man damit die Fatigue umgehen, gleichzeitig schlägt ein gewisser Schtick so aber auch mehrmals auf den Magen; Bozilla's Gruppierung ist dahingehend aber noch in seichten Gewässern. CHIAKI & Misa Matsui und Gigaton, Megaton & Nagisa Nozaki überzeugten so noch immer mit anschaulichem Material, **3/4 bei ansteigender Tendenz bzw. *** bei leicht abfallender Tendenz im Fall vom Trios Match. Gigaton und Megaton nahmen mir persönlich Überhand, MIRAI's Trio allerdings mit grundsolider Vorstellung im Verbund mit Nozaki. Bozilla's Main Event abschließend abrundend der angesprochenen Thematik, ***1/4. Ich bin mit der Erwartung von Eingriffen Darkness Revolution's hineingegangen, umso flüssiger kam's mir letztendlich vor, einzig das Finish sah nach nix aus, entgegen der heranführenden Phasen nicht beeindruckend gewesen. Nagisa Tachibana's Comeback und Selene Flora's Rückkehr imponierten dagegen wiederum, ** bzw. **1/2 im Fall vom zweiten Tag Match. Sakurai vs. Yamanaka und Takahashi & Yamaoka vs. Akatsuki & Iroha hätten stattdessen nicht unterschiedlicher sein können, **3/4 um den Dreh bzw. ***1/4 im Fall vom Semi Main Event. Mai Sakurai weiterhin eher mäßig unterwegs, Erina Yamanaka tat dazu nicht gerade in's Profil der Titelträgerin passen, Seri Yamaoka tüftelt schlussendlich noch mit den selben Problemen, Senka Akatsuki in gewohnt Marvelous-artiger Manier schon deutlich griffiger in ihrer In-Ring-Präsentation. |

Die Show an sich ist durchaus in Ordnung bis ordentlich aber ich habe wenig gefühlt. Die Undercard ist solide, es gibt wirklich viele Junge Wrestlerinnen, teils sogar kürzlich erst debutiert und die benötigen naturgemäß etwas Zeit. Allerdings ruft Darness Revolution leichte House of Torture Vibes in mir hervor und ich fand das Exposure hier zu viel über die Show hinweg. Zudem kann ich mit dem Measton und Gigaton Gig so gar nichts anfangen. Das erste wichtige Match war dann Mai Sakurai vs. Erina Yamanaka, bei dem zwar der erste Move direkt danebengeht aber sonst ist das Match ganz nett. MOTN ist ganz klar das Twin Star Title Match, welches richtig gut war. Seri Yamaoka und Senka Akatsuki als Parade-Rookies ihrer jeweiligen Promotion waren großartig und wurden hier sehr gut in Szene gesetzt. Nanae und Takumi sind aber nicht weniger stark und halten das Match sehr gut zusammen. Der Main Event ist ordentlich aber kein Vergleich zu Sareee vs. Bozilla. |

The opener featuring Hummingbird, Riara, Ryoko and Tachibana set the tone with great energy, even if it was a bit short. Rea Seto stood out as a major highlight in the second rookie tag. While the Darkness Revolution tag matches were the weakest parts of the show, they still had their moments. Mai Sakurai vs. Erina Yamanaka delivered a stiff, hard-hitting United National title match. The Marigold vs. Marvelous Twin Star title match stole the show, not just for its action-packed storytelling but for elevating two very promising rookies as future stars. Utami vs. Bozilla in the main event followed the classic monster formula, and while Utami's performance may not have silenced all critics, she fought well from underneath to retain. A strong Korakuen Hall show. |

It's fair to say Marigold had a consistency problem in the last couple of months, and that had a lot to do with the injuries affecting the promotion which already had a relatively small roster. As more injured wrestlers are returning, I expect Marigold to catch the magic it created in its inception. Other than the first match which included three inexperienced wrestlers, all matches were above average. Rea Seto's improvement is worth noting. 3 vs 3 tag match was the match I enjoyed the most, it was a great mixture of wrestling and comedy. Nao might be the most underrated woman in Japan today. UN match was pretty good too, despite being a bit botchy at times. Senka Akatsuki, who doesn't even have a Cagematch profile yet, stole the show. For a couple minutes, Senka and Seri had a literal amateur wrestling bout. The rest of the match was great as well. Main event was a little disappointing for me but by no means it was a bad match. |

The only disappointments were the enjoyable opening match not going on long enough and an atypically average match involving Showzuki and Misa which never really seemed to get going. Ignoring the 2 aforementioned negative elements though, the rest of the other matches drip with quality and/or burgeoning star power and are highly enjoyable (I'm not the biggest fan of Megaton but even the encounter involving her worked as a comedy match with shards of seriousness. Also, there was further evidence in it that only Starlight Kid eats shit better than MIRAI). Also, it's worth further mentioning that from the entrances of the Twin Star Title match to the very end of the event every thing that happens is absolutely nailed; the Twin Star match is great with an absolutely fantastic post-match and Utami/Bozilla deliver a brilliant and dramatic main event. Finally, Kouki does herself a tonne of favours by acquitting herself well on colour commentary and giving the impression she is committed to the action and enjoying every moment of it. |

Everyone came out with a lot of energy wanting to make a good impression. This didn't last very long yet they certainly did just that (6/10). Rea/Yuuki vs Kizuna/Yuzuki was another rookie tag match where again everyone put in a lot of effort, and was probably the biggest surprise of the show in terms of match quality. This featured a standout performance from Rea, who has improved a lot recently, as she manages to pull off an upset win (7/10). It's nice to see the rookies step up when it matters, Marigold needs that. The two Darkness Revolution tag team matches in the middle of the card were both decent, but were the weakest parts of the show. CHIAKI/Misa vs Gochika/Natsumi had solid if unspectacular action, nothing much stood out here but it was fine (5.5/10). Chanyota/Miku/MIRAI vs Gigaton/Megaton/Nagisa was more comedic and was entertaining enough, but went a few minutes too long because it did drag on at times (5.5/10). The three title matches to close things out all delivered in their own way. Mai vs Erina for the United National title was good. One of those matches that was a bit rough in terms of execution but fit with the hard hitting style they were going for. For only 12 minutes, they got a lot of stiff offense in. Erina looked strong in defeat as Mai retains (7/10). Nanae/Seri vs Iroha/Senka in a Marigold vs Marvelous battle for the Twin Star titles was great and the best match of the show. This was a long match with a lot going on. The titles were successfully defended and will stay in Marigold, but the most important thing was the two rookies coming out of it looking like future stars and potential rivals should their paths cross again (9/10). The main event for Marigold World title was very good. Utami faces off against Bozilla in a classic champion vs monster match. This went at a slower pace with Bozilla overpowering Utami, Utami selling a lot and had some interference spots to build to a comeback. Utami eventually overcomes the odds and retains (8/10). Maybe the Twin Star match should have been the main event, it was definitely worthy, but I understand having the top title go on last. Overall, this was a really good show. 8/10 |

I'd say the only match I was not a fan of was the 6 Woman Tag because it went too long and Megaton & Gigaton together is not working for me. In the opening match, Nagisa Tachibana looked particularly good in her return to action, Hummingbird looked fine too. Good to see them back. In the second match, Rea Seto has clearly a case for one of the most improved wrestlers this year so far. The United National title match was all about stiffness and it absolutely rocked even though it was quite short. At the top of the card, Marigold vs Marvelous was one of my favorite matches of the year so far and clear match of the night (Seri and Senka are absolute stars) and in the main-event, even though this was not the performance that will silence the critics from Utami, it was still pretty good and hopefully a good restart to this reign after the Tank experiment as the first defense. Very good show overall. |
