Dragon Gate USA veranstalteten vor meinem Einstieg in den amerikanischen Independent-Markt, weshalb ich wenig Berührungspunkte mit EVOLVE's Bruder-Promotion hatte, umso erfreulicher die Wiederauferstehung zu den österlichen Feiertagen. DGUSA's The Rebirth ist ein spaßiger Event mit insgesamt anständig bis guter Qualität gewesen, wusste mit seiner Zeit umzugehen und hinterließ einen positiven Nachgeschmack. Kzy vs. Mathers ein dazu passend-gelungener Wiedereinstand, *** um den Dreh. Stardom's Tag Match und der Main Event gefielen mir persönlich aber ein bisschen mehr, *** bei ansteigender Tendenz bzw. ***1/2 um den Dreh im Fall von PARADOX vs. Z-Brats. HATE und Neo Genesis wrestleten einen Sendai PIT Main Event, PARADOX und Z-Brats hingegen bestritten ein Match nach standardmäßiger Dragon Gate-Formel. Lun vs. Maddox, Sovereign's Trios Match und der Co-Main Event Three Way bewegten sich abrundend alle in gleichen Sphären, **1/2 im Fall vom Einzelkampf bzw. **3/4 um den Dreh je. Rhys Maddox mit ausreichendem aber verbesserungswürdigem Eindruck, Sovereign machten ihren Job ohne zurückzuhalten und der Co-Main Event insgesamt in Ordnung, jedoch gleichzeitig seinen Erwartungen hinterherlaufend. |

In an on itself though, it's not worth checking besides seeing Último Dragón on a Dragon Gate ring. |

Beides Matches fand ich mehr als anständig. Das erste Tag Team Match war nicht so gut wie erhofft und leider nur solide, Ho Ho Lun gegen Rhys Maddox leider nur okay. Die anderen Matches waren anständig (das Main Event hätte in kompakterer Form mehr als das sein können) und anständig war auch die Show insgesamt. Es war kein Must See, aber eine relativ konstante and ganz nette Veranstaltung. Ich halte daher 6 Punkte als Bewertung für angemessen. |

AZM & Starlight Kid vs Konami & Natsuko Tora: The match was average to be honest, felt like there was hardly any chemistry between these four, just was not that good to watch [*3/4]. Ho Ho Lun vs Rhys Maddox: Maddox is still green in the ring but he only is 17 years old, Lun winning was not surprising and the match was okay [**1/4]. El Cucuy, La Estrella & Ultimo Dragon vs Evan Rivers, Judas Icarus & Travis Williams: This is a classic example of what Dragon Gate is all about within the 9 minutes they had, good to see Dragon compete again in the US [***]. Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs Alec Price & Jimmy Lloyd vs Ben-K & Hyo: A fun 3 team match with a couple of decent spots, Swann and Mack were the MVP's and them getting the win was good to see [**1/2]. Dragon Kid, Susumu Yokosuka & YAMATO vs ISHIN, Kota Minoura & Shun Skywalker: Largely fine six man tag team match, did go on too long though might have helped if it had 5 minutes cut off the match might have made it better, some solid action [***] |

Auch wenn mir persönlich eine Kleinigkeit gefehlt hat um das Feeling noch interessanter zu machen: Der Ting von Damals mit dem Roten DGUSA Ring Boden. Das hätte man ruhig noch machen können. Dank des GCW Ring's, kam es mir eher vor wie eine GCW Veranstaltung. Auch wenn es natürlich klar gewesen ist, da es von GCW gesponsert und unter dem "The Collevtive" Ding lief. Opener war Kzy vs. Marcus Mathers und das Match war In Ordnung. Kein Feuerwerk, aber ein gutes Match um die Leute für die DGUSA Show einzuheizen. Kzy ergreift nach dem Match nochmal das Wort und auch das macht guten Eindruck. Danach kam ein Stardom Promotetes Match, zwischen HATE & Neo Genesis. Das Match war gut und Starlight Kid und AZM gewinnen und gehen Over. Ho Ho Lun vs. Rhys Maddox fand Ich dann unglaublich schlecht. Ich fand Ho Ho Lun damals schon beim CWC von der WWE schlecht und der Mann hat sich leider kein bisschen verbessert seit dem Turnier damals. Das Six Man Tag Team Match danach zwischen Team Ultimo Dragon und Sovereign fand Ich dann sehr gut. Gute Matchzeit und schöne Action. Auch die Finish Phase war stark und Ultimo Dragon holt sich den Sieg für sein Team nach einem La Magistral Cradle (***1/2). Three Way Tag Team Match war das Magch Of The Night. Mich haben hier vor allem die 2 GCW Wrestler (Jimmy Lloyd und Alec Price überzeugt. Beide sehen mir jetzt nicht danach aus, dass sie so viele Lucha Moves und Geile High Flyin Manöver drauf haben. Sehr gutes Match was am Ende Rich Swann und Willie Mack für sich entscheiden können (***3/4). Main Event war dann auch absolut in Ordnung, aber etwas zu lange. 5 Minuten weniger wären besser gewesen. Am Ende gewinnt PARADOX, was auch hier absolut in Ordnung geht. Yamato war ganz schön Over hier bei der Crowd. Natürlich eine DG Legende. Ich gebe dem gesamten Event, 6 Punkte. Die Show war absolut in Ordnung und auch die Location ist absolut genial und richtig gewesen für solche Promotions. Schön das auch Dragon Gate mit dabei gewesen ist. |

The main event was boring and lengthy, the women's match was sloppy, so was Ho Maddox. For the sake of it, got to watch Ultimo but he could've at least pulled off the Asai. Matt Sydal gave a surprise appearance, which got me reminiscing of the great tag matches DG used to give on any and every show they are in. Hopefully the Friday show lives up better than this. |
