[7.0] "No clue why this show is rated so much lower compared to the first two DGUSA shows; I thought this was just as good. The opening 6-way was a fun, non-stop spotfest with everyone working really hard. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Hulk vs Kendrick was disappointing as Hulk's qualifying match, since it was all up to him to impress. Kendrick's heel work was very dull and he constantly messed up Hulk's signature spots. **3/4. The 4-way was another pretty fun spotfest. It wasn't nearly as quick as the 6-way, but still had a lot of good technique on display. ***. Davey vs Yamato was very good, featuring a lot of intense strike and power-move exchanges. Davey's selling could have been better, but this wasn't one of 'those' matches anyway. Really exciting stuff overall. ***3/4. Jigsaw vs Kingston was mostly a filler match. It was hard to take Kingston serious with his awful physique, though he had a few good powerful displays. Jigsaw was decent with his smooth acrobatics. **3/4. Yoshino & Doi vs Shingo & Kid was great and easily MOTN. Shingo was the beastly monster, Kid was the flashy acrobat, and Doi and Yoshi were the speeding bullets. It was always exciting watching everyone running around and crashing into each other. The spots and sequences became more and more creative and exciting as the match progressed, with the final 10 minutes being especially fantastic. I just wish this laster longer. ***3/4 - ****. Hulk vs Cima vs Akuma vs Yamato was another very good match, and one that I'm apparently higher on than others. I really enjoyed the story of Hulk, the pure babyface, having to dig down deep to overcome the unfair odds and then overcome Yamato, the man who defeated him in his very first DGUSA match. Hulk's babyface selling and bumping were awesome as always, and both he and Yamato showed very good passion and intensity once they were the final 2. Being a big Hulk fan, I also just loved seeing Hulk win something substantial for a change. ***3/4"
