[9.0] "I think it was a very good event.Main event was the best match of the night and it was awesome. It's really great to seewrestlers in that age to still perform in this level and the same goes for Ishii and Taichi too how won the tag titles in a very good match. The Global and Never Openweight title matches was also very good.As for H.o.T despite maybe it's not good to see them have more members i find these choices for the three new members right.Finlay said that he wants savages to his group and not peoples that wants to sell merchandise and it's like to he said the members of Bullet Club in the past was just some guys that sold merchandise and nothing else and for this Owens and Fale decide to betrayal was right. Also Douki has a gimmick that doesn't fit him to be face but heel so i think this heel turn was right too."
[7.0] "This show didn't feel as big as a dominion and even though HoT missed throughout the card the was a lot of good action, especially in the last two matches. ***1/2"
[7.0] "One of the strangest shows I've ever watched. A few very good matches, one great one, and then an absolute minefield of garbage amongst it. Normally 3 4*+ matches would warrant an 8+ but I simply have to dock points for the utter absurdity of HoT in this show. 7/10"
[7.0] "Dominion was very hit and miss this year. Douki is way too good to be wasted in House of Torture and had no reason to join them. H.O.T vs BC (DUD): Same old shit. If you've seen one of their preview tags, you've seen them all. Chase and Fale are just money wasted talents that shouldn't be here. TMDK vs ELP/Umino (****): Very fun preview tag. Better then most, so I recommend it. Tanahashi vs Yuya (***.75): Another fun match. Good work from both guys, but its clear Yuya is a lot more agile then Tanahashi, but thats to be expected. Excited for their rematch in the G1. Wato/YOH vs H.O.T (**): God save my boy from this massacre. This was the regular H.O.T match, but I guess it was more entertaining then most. Taichi/Ishii vs UE (****.25): Great tag title match. One of the better O-Khan matches, and Newman's growing on me. Taichi and Ishii were as awesome as always and I'm very happy to see Taichi with a title. Boltin vs Takeshita (****.5): Same as Newman, Boltin is growing on me, and his trilogy with Takeshita is downright awesome. EVIL vs Finlay (***.5): Lackluster ending IMO, but I found that this was their best singles match together, which doesn't say much. Shenanigans galore as expected, but H.O.T have too many bodies now. There's still no need for Douki in the House. Gabe vs Tsuji (***.5): They tried to do better, but it never really clicked for me. Glad to see Gabe win. Shingo vs Goto (****.75): Match of the night for sure. This was great, but I do wish Shingo won here so he could face Tsuji at the Dome. Overall a nice show with too much House of Torture."
[5.0] "Katsuya Murashima & Shoma Kato vs Daiki Nagai & Masatora Yasuda: A young lion match that was of the usual standard, nothing too memorable happened just four young lions showcasing what little they can [**1/4]. Don Fale, Ren Narita, SANADA & Yujiro Takahashi vs Chase Owens, Clark Connors, Drilla Moloney & Taiji Ishimori: A subpar match that was not interesting at all, Fale being revealed as the newest member of HoT was not that interesting, Owens betraying BC War Dogs to join HoT was also not good and not interesting, nothing memorable happened except for that, not worthy of being on a PPV [DUD]. Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr vs El Phantasmo & Shota Umino: I actually enjoyed this one, all four involved actually had a fairly decent showing, what you would expect from a tag team match like this one, nothing too special but did what it needed to do, TMDK duo getting the win was good to see [***1/4]. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Yuya Uemura: This was a bit disappointing if I am being honest, Uemura should have won over the veteran Tanahashi, the action was hit or miss at times and the ending was not that interesting [**1/4]. DOUKI & SHO vs Master Wato & YOH: This was another not good match featuring HoT on this show, with Yoshinobu Kanemaru who should have been in this one did the ever so tiring fake injury angle, which led to DOUKI being revealed as the newest member of HoT which was not good to watch, the match in itself was not that good with tactics from HoT being used again, Wato & YOH should not have lost the titles [*1/4]. Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii vs Callum Newman & Great O-Khan: A cool match with some cool sequences, the action was right for the time given on this one, Taichi and Ishii winning the titles was the right choice here [***1/2]. Boltin Oleg vs Konosuke Takeshita: It was a good match but not on the level of their previous match, there were good sequences on the entrance ramp and in the ring, Oleg winning was surprising but also good to see [***3/4]. EVIL vs David Finlay: What a boring match, there was not enough weapons used spots like there could or should have had, nothing exciting about this one, the result I did not care for, EVIL getting the win was not the right booking decision from NJPW [DUD]. Gabe Kidd vs Yota Tsuji: Not on the level of their previous match at New Beginning but still quite a watch, hard hitting action with some cool moments, Kidd winning the title made sense but Tsuji put up quite a fight, really enjoyed watching this match [****1/4]. Hirooki Goto vs Shingo Takagi: What a main event, MOTN easily, they know how to put on a great showing that any wrestling fan can enjoy, Takagi tried to overcome the offense of Goto, but Goto proved why he deserves to be World Champion by having the best title defense to date [****3/4]"
[6.0] "Dominion = 6.5/10 / This was a show for which I had high expectations, and unfortunately I ended up disappointed. There were a lot of things to criticize, notably the card construction, which was very poor, then the presence of the horrible House Of Torture clan, which was far too important, and finally the audience, which was just lame and non-existent except in the Main Event, and even then they took a good 10 minutes before going all out. I don't understand Osaka's behavior on this show, when they're usually very present at the big events."
[4.0] "Disappointing on so many fronts. HoT hoovering up lost heels, then contributing to slow, grinding matches that suck the air out of the room. Gabe is in a weird vortex, simultaneously welcoming courtship from AEW while trying to prove that he bleeds cerulean. The biggest positives were the title changes. They're all good, new, interesting people to hold championships, which is why everyone's speculation about Shingo post-LIJ was in vain. Taichi was the day's only standout."
[4.0] "Gedo, what the fuck are we doing here bro? The House of Torture might be the most appropriately named faction of all time, and now they're hoovering up people left and right, taking over more and more of this promotion that is so far removed from the glory days of the mid-to-late 2010s that it's barely recognisable. The main, the NEVER match and (to a much smaller extent) the Global match are the only things preventing me from going a full dud on this boring, baffling card. Everyone thank Konosuke and Hirooki for the house, cause outside of those gentlemen this was a disasterclass of booking."
[4.0] "Very boring show. The house of torture stuff early killed the crowd and that hurt every match up until the main event, and they weren't even that good in the first place. Main event was easily MOTN and is the only reason this is even a 4. Lots of just horrible booking decisions throughout the card."
[7.0] "Some pretty good matches and an excellent main event, but what is Gedo doing with HoT? I was watching live and literally turned my TV off after the Jr Heavyweight tag match. I haven't seen anyone that's liking this HoT crap but at least the Goto Revolution continues on."
[7.0] "A show that will be remembered for its questionable booking than some of the great wrestling on the card. TMDK match, Heavyweight tag titles and Gabe/Tsuji all really good, and the main event is a match of the year contender. The rest depends on how you feel about the House."
[6.0] "2 matches saved this show from absolute disaster. The show was so HOT oriented and not in the fun way which admittedly only happens around 10% of the time. Watch the excellent main and the great heavyweight tag team match. I seem to be on an island but I thought the semi main and the never title match underdelivered. The rest was hot garbage or kinda nothing and now there are 10 members of HOT, which is a foreboding sign of the bollocks to come."
[6.0] "(6.5/10) NJPW Dominion 2025 was heartbreakingly disappointing. The card had everything you could want from a modern day New Japan card and should have delivered one of the best shows of the year for the promotion, but the overwhelming amount of House of Torture dragged this show through the doldrums and became the biggest story of the event. The Young Lions Kickoff match was fine. (**1/2). The House of Torture vs Bullet Club War Dogs opener may have been one of the worst matches of the year for NJPW. It felt like more of an angle than a match. Bad Luck Fale becoming Don Fale, joining HoT was a flat surprise. Then. Chase Owens turning on War Dogs to join HoT made little to no sense and drags the entire group down to have some of the worst workers in the company in the same faction. Awful booking, bad match & depressing finish (1/2*). TMDK vs ELP & Shooter was good. All four men worked hard and gave the fans a nice preview for some potential matches for the G1 Climax 35 tournament. Enjoyed the exchanges between ZSJ/Phantasmo the most here. It was fun (***1/2). Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Yuya Uemura was a solid match that felt like a passing of the torch going in, but wound up telling the story of The Ace having enough experience to outmanoeuvre his younger opponent (***). House of Torture vs YOH & Master Wato was more of an introduction for DOUKI to join HoT than a match. DOUKI had a superb IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title reign last year that helped to solidify him as a name in the division, so to squander that for him to join The House was terribly disappointing. The match was not good, completely marred by the HoT shenanigans (**). Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii vs United Empire was a great tag team match. The crowd was invested in the two veterans coming together and working well in their successful effort to capture gold. Taichi has become one of the more beloved babyfaces, so it felt like a triumphant achievement to see him win gold here. Callum Newman worked really well with both Taichi & Ishii in this one and felt like the first genuine really good match on the show (****). Boltin Oleg vs Konosuke Takeshita was a straight up banger that was exactly what it needed to be. Hard hitting, physical and intense. The level of in-ring work was top notch thanks in large part to Takeshita, but Oleg put on one of the best performance of his career being a proper heavyweight brute who went big bomb for big bomb with one of the best in the world. These two beat the holy hell out of each other and it was lovely to watch (****1/2). EVIL vs David Finlay Dog Collar Chain Deathmatch should have been a bloody grudge match that could have helped bolster this card after back-to-back great matches, but it unfortunately felt marred once again by House of Torture. The sheer number of members is ridiculous & was on full display here as every HoT guy beat down the War Dogs & then finally Finlay in a clusterfuck that seem to overshadow any of the creativity between the two men scheduled for this bout (**). Gabe Kidd vs Yota Tsuji was very good, but fell short of high expectations based on their Match of the Year candidate. Some of that has to be contributed to the lack of clarification behind Kidd's actions aligning w/Jon Moxley & The Death Riders in AEW, but a lot of it was down to the last match killing the crowd. Kidd/Tsuji work so well together especially in the closing stretch that they had the crowd into everything in the final minutes. Tsuji was great here overall and should be the favorite to win this year's G1, while Kidd found his pre-New Japan Cup form by the end (***3/4). Hirooki Goto vs Shingo Takagi was a tremendous main event that built and built to a brilliant cresendo filled with drama, desperation & passion. Both men had the crowd fully engaged into the physically intense action from the start and went on the ride with some spell binding counters as well as high impact moves. Goto kicking out of the Burning Dragon and Shingo surviving the first GTR made everyone believe it could go either way, making the closing stretch that much more compelling. This had everything you could want from an epic IWGP World Heavyweight Title match & singlehandedly saved this show from the "Worst of the Year" conversation. Goto/Shingo deserve a round of applause for their fantastic performances (****3/4)."
[7.0] "Disappointing but not bad. The three matches that I was really most excited for (IWGP WH, IWGP Global and NEVER Openweight) were quite good, but didn't quite get the level that I was hoping for and never got into that third gear to make them something special. The rest of the card was filled out with some decent matches as well as some bad House of Torture stuff."
[5.0] "One of the weakest Dominion I've ever seen. The three (! ) matches House of Torture was involved in were abysmal, both for the "action" and booking with grim long term implications for NJPW. An unremarkable undercard, the IWGP tag title match was fine, a really good Never match, Tsuji-Kidd was good overall but underwhelming in regard to their previous match, the crowd enthusiasm being killed with the HoT nonsense didn't help. The ever reliable veterans save the show in the main event, Goto is carrying the promotion on is shoulders."
[7.0] "I definitely enjoyed the show. The HOT shenanigans bothered a lot of people and i can't say I blame them, but I've been a DOUKI guy for a long time so I was more excited to see him return, and win another title rather than soured by the HOT shenanigans and unfortunately I must stay loyal and support HOT now... although Finlay vs EVIL wasn't very good. The Never title match was great. So was Tsuji and Gabe. Shingo and Goto was obviously MOTN and everything else was average. I'm definitely excited for the G1 and now that DOUKI is back, I can start watching on a more consistent basis again(fell off after attending Wrestle Kingdom and Dynasty)"
[4.0] "On paper, the card is excellent. In execution, though... sheesh, at this point Booker of the Year is going to be decided not by who books the best angles, but who books the least worst. And the massive problem with this show was the House of Torture, so called because it's torture to watch just one match involving them, let alone three. Let's face it, House of Torture suck. No evolution in their heel work for years. And yet we're going to get a massive Hontai/HoT feud over the next few months. Shoot me now. Even some good matches outside of the House vortex didn't live up to expectations, with both Boltin/Soup and Tsuji/Kidd being rematches that fall short of the last time they were in town, four months ago. Takagi/Goto becomes the MOTN by default, then, but even the Revolution is feeling a bit tired. Best to skip this one, if I'm being honest."
[7.0] "It was my first NJPW show that I watched live, and I think it was an honest one, I think that they were far too much House of Torture shenanigans for the well-being of the show, too many turn, some unexpected though (Douki wtf). The match between Finlay and EVIL was a car crash in slow-mo, like what were they thinking and WHY a stipulation for this ? But really the Konosuke vs Boltin Oleg, the Gabe Kidd vs. Yota Tsuji and the Hirooki Goto vs. Shingo Takagi were pure banger. My favorite was Gabe Kidd vs. Yota Tsuji solely because of the win and those strikes.... my god (I let go the small botch on the senton that was well sold by Kidd after)"
[5.0] "honestly, pretty disappointing compared to the hype I had. The only things that really stood out to me were Goto Takagi, the Climax participants announcement, that feel-good moment when Ishii became double champ, the tag match with TMKD vs El Phantasmo & Umino that was actually dope, and Oleg Takeshita. But overall, I was kinda let down. Especially by EVIL and David Finlay that match was just not it. Gabe Kidd vs Tsuji didn't hit either, even though Tsuji had a solid showing. All in all, it just didn't live up to expectations"
[4.0] "In all honesty, this was a waste of a ppv. Other than the IWGP tag, Never Openweight, Global and World title matches, most of this card is a huge let down with all the house of torture stuff. It was just way too much house of torture and not enough great wrestling to at least balance it out. Boltin beating Takeshita to win the Never title was unexpected but a welcome sight. Kidd and Tsuji had a decent match. No where near close to their first match which was an instant classic but still it was one of the better matches on the card. Finally of course the match of the night, Shingo Takagi vs Hirooki Goto delivered. All three of the previously mentioned matches were clearly good to great but they just weren't enough to save this entire ppv."
