[7.0] "Mish mash of a show. The final two and the opener were great but the middle dragged big time and was mostly pretty terrible. 7.5/10"

[6.0] "This was a rough show, however the last two matches were both great. Akira vs Desperado was amazing and Tanahashi vs Goto was my match of the night. Phantasmo vs Wato was good too, but every other match was pretty bad or just okay. TMDK vs Bullet Club was really bad, the rest of the mid-card was just pretty bad and bland, but the last two matches make up for it."

[6.0] "This show had two very good matches in the semi-main and main event slots, and then a lot of nothing leading up to it. Moloney/Kidd vs. Narita/Kanemaru was inexcusably drawn out. It would be one thing if they were actually doing things while crowd brawling but I swear they were just trying to burn clock. The other tag matches on this show were really nothing to write home about, just some fun appearances to get some guys a payday. The semi-main event was a very good match, the main event was a great match and it could be Tanahashi's last ever IWGP title match (I personally am not convinced, but as of writing this it is possible). Loved watching Goto have an entrance as champion, something I never thought I'd see. The GOTO REVOLUTION is in full force, gentlemen. I'd love to rate this show higher but man sitting through that undercard was such a chore. MVP goes to Hirooki GOAT-O for proving himself as the true ace, the true once in a century talent, by successfully defending his championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi."

[6.0] "The opener was a good match, the midcard tag and multiman matches were average and the two great title matches to close the show, weren't a bad anniversary show but could have been better. El Phantasmo vs Master Wato: A well rounded opening match, they had a solid level of chemistry, even though this was an open challenge the match was well worked, a solid level of action and ELP retaining was a good decision [***1/2]. Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens vs Hartley Jackson & Ryohei Oiwa: An uninteresting tag match, the exchanges between Jackson and Fale was the most interesting part of the match [*3/4]. Gedo, SANADA & Taiji Ishimori vs Taichi, TAKA Michinoku & Yuya Uemura: A very pedestrian match with a no good DQ finish with BC using their cheating tactics, not much was that good [*1/2]. Drilla Moloney & Gabe Kidd vs Ren Narita & Yoshinobu Kanemaru: The match was so short due to the lengthy brawl outside the ring and through the crowd which ended in a double count out [*]. Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito & Yota Tsuji vs Dick Togo, EVIL, SHO & Yujiro Takahashi: An okay fun match, there were some okay moments [**1/4]. El Desperado vs Francesco Akira: An amazing match between these two, they showcased what they can do and more, Despy showed that he is one of the best junior heavyweight wrestlers in the world and Akira showed that he can hang with anyone, Akira showed the tenacity and drive it needed even if he did lose, the ending stretch with Akira failing to connect a Fireball Knee due to the legwork from Despy to Akira tapping out, definitely recommend [****3/4]. Hirooki Goto vs Hiroshi Tanahashi: Good main event match, my second favourite match of the show, Tanahashi looked like he did in the past here with a solid showing, Goto proved that he can beat Tanahashi and have a great showing here [****1/4]"

[6.0] "The opener was a nice almost-first-time ever, then the quality went nowhere as anything before the Jr. match went to shit in terms of quality. Nothing that we haven't seen before, just tedious. Anyways the last two matches were truly worth the time spent. ***"

[5.0] "Most of this show was pretty bland which is a shame considering the momentum the last big show brought about. The Junior title match wasn't bad but the division is so stale these days that every title match is fighting against that as well as its own run-time. The main event was okay as well and I thought it was pretty heartening in a way. Tanahashi will never be the physical speciment he once was but he'll never suck. I think slowing down and having worse stamina are fine so long as you can make a believable story of it. The biggest issue is when you see guys get so run down that they can't bump realistically. Tanahashi will never be that. This last year won't be the best of his career but it'll be okay."

[5.0] "I'd be lying if I said I was satisfied. Going in, was expecting the momentum to carry on after Osaka but what we got was a stinker of a show minus the opener, and the two main events. Even then, only the Junior title match was worth watching and the main event was filled with nostalgia on paper but as expected wasn't anything special. All the old timers at the end for the photo op was very cool to see for change, a goosebump moment. Yeah a lot of basic booking went wrong or uncared for. Also not much hype was thrown for New Japan Cup either. Hmm."

[6.0] "The anniversary show, in spite of such a grand occasion, is very rarely that special of a show. Standard tag matches for the most part and then maybe a good match or two. This was certainly the case here. Forgettable tag matches, a solid ELP/Wato match, the fantastic bout between Akira and Desperado, and an emotionally climax to the nights proceedings thanks to the lineage of Goto and Tanahashi. Not a bad show but a long ways away from being a very good one."

[5.0] "A weak card can't deliver. The opener and the Jr. title match were awesome. This undercard was probably the weakest I have ever seen in NJPW. Detailled ratings in the guides. 1. [5.0] "Everything before the last two matches was a build up for the NJCup, the matches were very skipable. The jr match was best match of the night, Akira looked like the future of the division and he didnt look weak even though he lost, and that's a common theme it seems with Despe's reign, he already elevated Fujita in the same way. The main event was a fun emotional match. This was really a two math show"
