"Baba/Jumbo vs Mascaras/Caras is a fun little match, somewhere in the ***1/2-3/4 (7) range. But the main event, and the last All Japan match of the decade, is the star here, and the perfect culmination to the Funks vs Abby/Sheik rivalry. I don't think it's the best of the quartet of big tag matches they've had (that's 12/9/78, my second-favorite All Japan match of the decade), but it's still gets a ****1/2 (10) from me. As always with this pairing, if dirty brawls aren't something you value in wrestling then this probably isn't for. But this rivalry was the modern trope codifier for dirty tag brawls, and on those terms it damn sure holds up. The heat, the emotions, Terry's screaming when Abby forks his eye, it's all fantastic!"

"Das Finale hat nicht sonderlich viel Wrestling und doch ist es ein verdammt großartiges Pro-Wrestling Match. Die Funk wurden geliebt. Also jetzt nicht so Jubel und viel Applaus, sondern wortwörtlich geliebt. Die Halle steht komplett Kopf, die Fans stürzen fast auf die Funks die durchs Publikum kommen, begrüßen sie mit einem großen Banner, schreien vor allem Terrys Namen und drehen vollkommen ab. Enter: Abdullah und Sheik - die Fans teilen sich wie Moses einst das Rote Meer. Die Ruchlosen schlägern durchgehend, Abdullahs Chops sind so unfassbar over. Alle hassen den Sheik. Durchgehend, ohne Pause, schreien die Fans die Funks nach vorne. Die Szenen, in denen Abdullah Terry mit der Gabel bearbeitet und der am Ende sogar den Handrücken zerstochen bekommt sind großartig und fantastisch emotional. Das Finish kommt komplett aus dem Nichts. Völlig egal. Frenetischer Jubel. Die Totschläger wurden besiegt. Fans springen, kreischen, weinen und umarmen sich. Ich könnte heulen. Heutzutage komplett unerreicht. Auf vielerlei Gründen."
