[4.0] "There was at least one good match this time where Ultimo fights Juventud, but the others matches are kinda there and the rest of the show is very forgettable. The one hour timeslot might have been a hindrance at least in terms of the rushed segments, but the wrestling quality in general has been lacking on Nitro all year! The Flair/Piper/Green vs nWo feud just isn't really holding interest despite being a big focus. We finally get a physical confrontation with the footballers and the main event slot went to Eric Bischoff interviewing the bogus Sting, who from now on I'm calling Stink (thanks Larry). The real Sting shows up and lays him out easy and thats your show. Lame!"

Too bad the match ended up being terrible. Alex Wright cops an attitude and turns heel while Ice Train and Hugh Morrus have the most hilarious botch trying to get Train over the ropes. The ending was lame with the Fake Sting getting beat up by the real Sting. Kind of anticlimactic."

[6.0] "Cool episode. Mongo and Reggie have a cool segment and Alex Wright heel turn, very rare. Can they finally build a star that isn't already established in the WWF? We will see. I miss Disco."

Ultimo Dragon can't have a bad match, Dean Malenko did his best with McMichael. Getting real sick of these nWo vs Piper and Horseman feud. The tag match was fine but Morris had to fix Ice Train and Alex Wright turned heel?"

[5.0] "Of the four match, the opening between Ultimo Dragon e Juventud Guerrera is good, I also liked the squash match of Wrath defeating Scotty Riggs. The show feels too busy with many wrestlers but less time to talk. One hour doesn't seem to work anymore. Alex Wright's turn on Ice-Train is uninspired. Sting & Fake Sting angle is okay, everything with Sting is fine. Also some good stuff from Randy Savage and the Ric Flair trio, but it's still a not-so-good episode of Nitro."

[4.0] "The opening match was very solid; what you would expect from a match between Ultimo Dragon and Juventud Guerrera. The promo between team Flair and the Wolfpack was pretty standard; feeling like it was just there to remind people of what they were arguing about. It did however establish that their match at Slamboree will be a No DQ, so bonus points for that. The next match between Malenko and McMichael was decent considering it's purpose was to further the tensions between McMichael and Jarrett. It's a shame they had to place him in a match with Malenko to do this, but overall the contest was decent. The matches on the second half of the show felt purely filler, with the squash match to try and get Wrath over and the tag match. Not quite main event material, especially as they had such a strong opener. I imagine they did this to make room for Sting's appearance at the end, which was awesome but still the structure of the show seemed off. This was the construction episode leading to Slamboree so you can only expect so much. All in all I think the show deserved a 4/10 as the structure really let it down."
