[5.0] "After weeks of very good and consistent Dynamites, this wasn't good at all. The debut of speedball was sick and definitely the highlight of the show for me. Eveyrthing else felt quite meh but it wasn't bad."
"Right before the main event, there was a segment where MJF and Adam Page talked to each other backstage and in the brief moment before going to the ring, dumbass AEW commentary struck. "Something tells me that Hangman Adam Page and MJF may be intertwined for years to come." DON'T TELL ME THAT THIS THING THAT COULD BLOW UP NEXT WEEK ON DYNAMITE MIGHT NOT END FOR YEARS. This company does not use common sense. Segment with MJF also lacked common sense because he was on about Page not winning the big one and the fans seeing that...only Page has already been champion and tag champion. Thanks, AEW."
[6.0] "An episode focused on setting the stage for new stories and rivalries. The qualifying matches for the upcoming International Championship No.1 Contenders bout were a highlight, especially the excellent clash between Beast Mortos and Mike Bailey. Promos dominated the night, with promos of varying quality and excitement behind them - but I very much look forward to seeing what the MJF and MVP segment evolves into and have not been spoilt for it yet. The show had very high points for me, with a couple of weak promos and weak matches which either lacked chemistry. So, my score represents an average of the matches and promos throughout the night ~ Satisfied with my first AEW Dynamite."
[7.0] "Good episode to set up new stories post PPV. The qualifying matches for next week's International Championship No.1 contenders match were great, especially between Beast Mortos and Mike Bailey. The opening tag match and Willow vs Penelope didn't quite land for me, but still set up future story. Toni's promo was great but the Megan Bayne angle after felt out of place, maybe a bigger attack would've landed better instead of the one push. The MJF and MVP promo segment was great, and set up a intriguing angle. Ospreay's promo maybe went too long but definitely wasn't bad. Overall a good episode, I would rate this at 7"
[8.0] "I really enjoyed this week's episode of Dynamite, a 2 hour show that was a breeze to watch and sets up a lot of new directions moving forward. The international championship is featured heavily this week with a really nice promo from Omega to start the show before 2 first round matches from the eliminator tournament featuring the debut of the fantastic Speedball Mike Bailey. Bailey Vs Mortos was the standout match this week - great stuff. Megan Bayne has been presented like a star since her debut, continuing the feud with Kris Statlander while also setting her sights on Toni Storm, attacking her after another excellent promo segment. MJF also put in multiple strong segments, I'm intrigued by the direction he seems to be taking - is he joining the Hurt Syndicate? Also, a great follow up segment with Hangman & MJG later in the show. (8/10)"
[8.0] "It might be one of the strongest episodes of Dynamite this year. I'm not even talking about the in-ring action here (it was rather mediocre, especially for AEW) - just the way the segments were structured and how the storylines were progressed, especially the ones coming off the tremendous PPV last Sunday. 1) The short interaction between MJF and Adam Page backstage felt 10 times more organic than everything they had done before their match at Revolution - I think what we saw was just the beginning of their years-long, slow-burn story. 2) It was my first time seeing Mike Bailey in action, and I must say he's definitely special. He doesn't look like a professional wrestler, but rather like a movie character from the 80s or some fighting video game. If I were a betting man (which I am, btw), I would have bet on him winning the entire tournament to face Kenny Omega at the next AEW PPV Dynasty, because Mike Bailey vs Kenny Omega sounds like a dream match, especially to the ears of the biggest mark of them all, Tony Khan."
[8.0] "[7.9] Really good show, but is also very setup-heavy. Hologram/Hobbs vs Cage/Dralistico was a fun little match even if it was very house show-esque (particularly Harleygram's antics with Beast Mortos, ) Mike Bailey's debut and match with Mortos was really good and is an easy highlight of the episode, Takeshita vs Caster was another really fun squash match, Caster has really started to shine by turning what was go-away heat into cathartic heat, Nightingale vs Penelope was decent, and OC vs Hechicero was fun, even if I honestly would have preferred a Hechicero win. On top of all the in-ring stuff, you also had movement in the Patriarchy with Nick and Shayna Wayne beginning to dissent, Decent Ricochet and Swerve promos, an okay Will Ospreay promo, Toni Storm continuing to be an amazing promo, Megan Bayne attempting to start feuds with the entire women's division, setup for a Mone/Starkz match, a good segment with MJF and MVP, and, the lowlight of the entire show, setup for an inexplicable Mox vs Cope rematch. At a minimum I think it'll be better than the Revolution main event because it actually has a stipulation and won't have to follow 3 early MOTYCs, but the bar is incredibly low."
[5.0] "Promo heavy episode that did its job but ended up being a bang average show overall. They needed to do that to set up next set of stories and rivarlies. Matches were all really forgettable and bland but that's to be expected with this type of structure, which is fine. Toni's promo was awesome, Will's was kinda weird at first but it got to the point well anyway. Megan looked good. International tournament is kinda cool in theory but not really into it so far."
[6.0] "By no means a flagship show, but a lot of pieces started moving during this episode. A good debut for Speedball Mike Bailey, who looks like a really good addition to the roster. Toni storm carried on her exceptional work. Hangman and MJF feels like it could be generational."
[6.0] "It was a perfectly fine, but admittedly unremarkable episode. The matches were unfortunately lacking, except for Speedballs debut (really pleased to finally see him make his debut). The main event was in particular underwhelming. There were some interesting segments though, such as MJF and MVP'S interaction. It's also good to see so many top guys making it be known they are after the world championship. Overall it's a decent enough start to the Dynasty build and hopefully next week's episode picks up the pace."
[9.0] "AEW has, historically, struggled to have immediate storyline direction coming out of PPVs, no matter how amazing said shows are. After reading the report that a LOT of the AEW roster was banged up, I worried this would happen again, but, instead, we get an episode that did an amazing job setting up a lot of different story beats for the top wrestlers going forward. Opening with Kenny Omega, his promo was pure babyface energy, and it feels clear that the International Championship is on the path to being AEW's secondary World Title-Level Belt. As he left, The Opps came out, and there was a great moment where each member stared down Omega and his championship. After that, The Opps had another fun trios against enhancement talent. I'd love to see them as trios champs, and it definitely feels like that's the long term direction. The biggest highlight of the show for me has to be Speedball Mike Bailey's debut. I am a huge fan of their work, and The Beast Mortos was an inspired choice for their debut match. Their new finisher, the tornado kick, looks amazing, and they immediately feel like a serious contender in AEW."
[7.0] "The March 12th, 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite was a pretty good episode for them and a good one story wise. This was HEAVILY focused on stories and promos than wrestling and I feel like that worked for them here. Toni Storm's speech, Kenny's opener, The Patriarchy having some trouble, MJF and MVP's interaction and MJF / Hangman's backstage interaction. Very promo heavy. I liked the change of pace. We also got the debut of "Speedball" Mike Bailey in a great match with The Beast Mortos. I do have some issues like the booking of Megan Bayne, Mox vs. Cope II being booked and a weaker second half and a semi-decent main event that left me wondering if some of the things should have been swapped. Overall, a really good episode of Dynamite. I'd love to see AEW do this type of show from now on. It reminded me of AEW from 2019-2021. [***3/4]"
[5.0] "The Revolution fall out Dynamite episode was disappointing. The Omega promo was forgettable then went to the 6 man squash tag match that didn't benefit the winning team, Brian Cage & Dralistico (w/The Beast Mortos) vs. Hologram & Powerhouse Hobbs (w/Harleygram), Nightingale vs Ford, and Cassidy vs Hechicero were average/solid matches. Bailey vs Mortos, MJF/MVP-MJF/Page promos and the ending part of the Ospreay promo were good. Takeshita vs Caster was entertaining also going to Bayne vs Storm is a very interesting booking decision since Bayne hasn't been fully/enough established character when it comes to AEW TV shows."
[5.0] "A dull episode of Dynamite with some nice moments and a solid match sprinkled in. My biggest complaint with AEW has always been that Dynamite and Collision are incredibly predictable and thus very skippable. Mike Bailey debuting was cool but I wish they had announced him ahead of this to add some hype to the tournament. Megan Bayne being Storm's next opponent is fine but I wish they built her up more prior to this. Same thing goes for Billie Starkz who just feels like an opponent Mercedes wants to face rather than an actual threat--could also see this being how they reintroduce Athena to AEW tv but that feels rushed a little. Also, it's crazy to see how many former World title challengers have lost momentum. I know it's a common occurrence but Orange Cassidy and Hobbs are both stale. Daniel Garcia has been very forgettable as TNT Champion. At least we got some good promos and direction for Jay White, Ospreay, Cope, and even Jericho."
[9.0] "Honestly I have no clue why this is getting so many lower ratings. I thought this was a very fun episode! Loved the Omega and Ospreay promos, one of the criticisms I usually have about AEW is that they don't let their faces go out and talk enough, and Omega and Ospreay are 2 of my favs so it was a welcome thing. The MVP and MJF interaction was really interesting and I'm curious to see where it goes next. I enjoyed Toni's promo and I'm glad they're putting Megan Bayne in the title picture already, she's amazing and has a great look and presence, and seemed to be a focus of the show, with her taking out Willow and Stat later. The Max Caster squash with Takeshita was very fun stuff, OC vs Hechicero was a fun main event, and Mike Bailey had a great debut against Beast Mortos. Hell, even the Jericho segment was pretty good, pretty hot crowd all night too! (4/5 episode)"
[8.0] "Not sure why this is getting some low ratings but I thought this was a solid follow up show for a big PPV with a lot of blow off matches. The wrestling wasn't as tremendous as it normally is but we got one great match with Speedball and another solid main event with OC and Hechicero. They laid out a lot of plans for the next few months for the title holders and the top guys and girls in the promotion. They put in motion more story for the feuds continuing that showed depth for the wrestlers involved. They elevated the titles by having multiple people stating their intention to go after them. Their were spot on the show that had iffy work that's below AEW standard but nothing horrible. They could've gave Harley a better spot then her doing Harleygram. A character they did once 4 months ago and was only funny in the moment. The tag match while not bad, was not worked particularly well and the psychology was off for a US tag match. I though Dralistico had a really bad night at the office and it rubbed off on the others in the match. They can do that match again but they need to make it clear what you're going to see since they worked the match like a lucha tag. Lastly making the rematch with Copeland and Moxley is nasty work. They'll have a good street fight but it's too little too late and they should've had this match at the PPV."
[8.0] "I thought the show was really entertaining, story-wise, as they opened some new doors and teased some fun new matchups while giving most of the battered and bruised wrestlers of Sunday's PPV a well-deserved day off in-ring-wise. The action was decent, but nothing to go out of your way to see -- maybe with the exception being Speedball's debut. The promos were great, though. I liked the MVP/MJF promo, the exchange Hangman and MJF had later on, the Switchblade shining through the thin fabric of babyface Jay White, Mox was good, Swerve and Cope were good, Kenny was fine, Max Caster was hilarious again ... and of course, Toni Storm was fantastic. The way she commands the audience' attention is superstar level these days and well-earned. Commentary was good this week, especially during the breaks when they guys went at each other again in entertaining fashion. Overall, not a must-see show by any means, but I was entertained throughout and want to see what happens on Collision and next week. So mission accomplished, really."
"[1.0] This is the BEST wrestling weekly show episode I've ever seen. Hologram vs Dralistico feud is awesome and it gives me the most positive emotions I've ever felt. Other matches was just GODLY and the main event is absolute cinema, I prayed while watching it. Worth to watch for everyone!"
[5.0] "The worst episode of Dynamite in a long time. The highlight was probably the debut of Speedball Mike Bailey who out on a decent match. There was a decent and authentic promo from Will Ospreay as well which raised a smile or two but other than that the rest of the in ring and out of ring stuff was not good. Is Shane coming off of a white hot Revolution PPV."
[6.0] "This was fine, mostly just laying out the path forward towards Dynasty. The matches were...not that great by AEW standards, but not offensive. The character bits with Omega and MJF, the Hurt Syndicate etc, and the Max Caster squash stuff were the highlights for me. For some ungodly reason they are booking another Mox and Cope match. wtf."
[6.0] "Decent enough episode of Dynamite. A bit too much talking and not enough fighting but whatever. The tournament matches were both solid. The tag matches were all decent enough TV fights. Willow/Ford was....whatever. And Takeshita squashing Caster was the most I liked a Caster match, so that was nice."
[7.0] "It was fine. Given how many stories were wrapped up at Revolution, tonight needed to start new ones, which is why it was so setup-heavy, as pointed out by others. Wrestling was fine, if a bit pedestrian; setup for future stories was a bit better. Nothing that gets marked down, but apart from the Speedball match, nothing to write home about either. But for two hours of TV, I have no major complaints."
[7.0] "Strong show to follow up a fantastic PPV, but the wrestling was disappointing outside of the Mike Bailey debut in a very fun match against Beast Mortos. Speedball is gonna be incredible in AEW! The other matches are forgettable first with an unnecessary squash with the Opps barely Collision worthy, a botchfest in that tag match I think mostly because of Dralistico, not terrible as Hologram and Hobbs still looked cool, Willow vs Penelope Ford was meh and the main event too short, didn't like the fact Orange outwrestled a technical specialist in Hechicero from the beginning to the very end. This Dynamite was enjoyable for it's segment/promos and the setup of things to come, first with a nice Omega speech, hyping the eliminator tournament for his belt, then MJF and MVP cut a great and intriguing promo as Maxwell could join the Hurt Syndicate, Toni Storm was excellent as usual, cool to see Megan Bayne getting the shot next. Will Ospreay was damn fun to listen to and hyping up the Owen Hart tournament and the possible All In main event! I especially loved all the backstage promos and video packages, like that beautiful Toni/Mariah feud recap, Christian Cage beefing with Nick Wayne was golden, I even liked the Moxley and Jay White ones. As for the rematch Cope vs Mox next week, it's understandable that a lot of fans shit on it, but I'm alright with that, Cope never got beat so let's finish this feud as soon as possible, I don't care who's winning, I don't even care if it's gonna be an excellent match or another stinker, the important stuff comes after this, Dynasty, Owen Hart cup and All In, I'm still blaming it all on Copeland and the way he forces us to endure his vision of a wrestling match like a terrorist.Could have been a better Dynamite but the job was to build the next feuds for Dynasty and All In, I'm excited even for the very next show this saturday, a live Collision, so it succeeded to keep me greatly invested in the product."
[5.0] "Outside of Speedball vs. Mortos and a few good promos this episode was bad. Like those oct-nov '24 bad. Like those january 2025 bad. Matches were mostly bad and the whole show felt like an afterthought. Kenny's opening promo was okay. Hologram/Hobbs vs. Cage/Dralistico was really bad. Lots of miscomunications and botches, by Dralistico in particular. Toni's promo was good but, especially after her performance at Revolution, how can you give like three minutes? It's embarassing. Deciding to run Mox vs. Cope again is a terrible decision. This second match will surely be better that the Revolution one but imagine if Britt and Mercedes got a second match after their All In stinker. Yeah, doesn't sound very good does it? Really liked the promo between Nick Wayne and Christian. One of the best things on the show. Speedball vs. Mortos was really good, match of the night. Speedball got great reactions and I'm glad he's finally in AEW. He was made for the company. Max Caster gimmick contiues to be entertaining as he got destroyed by Takeshita this time. Willow vs. Penelope was bad. Very sloppy action. There were a couple of interesting set-ups in this episode regarding the women's division. Megan Bayne attacked Toni but she also has unfinished business with Stat who's trying to make it up to Willow after their wars last year. It could set-up lots of interesting matches. MJF/MVP segment was alright. Not really digging the idea of MJF in the Hurt Syndicate. However I really liked MJF/Hangman backstage angle. These two are money together and their feud should continue. Ospreay promo was alright. I really liked how there are so many people who are aiming at the World title right now. Ospreay, White, Swerve... it makes the title feel important. Hechicero vs. OC was alright. Don't know why had them main eventing when could've finished with Speedball debuting. OC and Hechicero wrestled a rushed match with the crowd being not very interested. Overall: such a weak episode. After weeks of great shows this one was a massive let down, considering it was the follow-up to one of AEW's best PPVs."
[5.0] "The matches on this episode, outside of Bailey vs Mortos, are pretty bad. Some of the promo stuff was okay. I thought the Ospreay promo was particularly bad for him, with Ospreay telling a long and rambling story (which no one laughed at) about being afraid of his girlfriend and how much trouble he was in for disobeying her. Now every time I see Ospreay attempt a big spot I'm going to think, "I hope his girlfriend gave him permission to do that". Moxley and Copeland are going at it again for some reason. Christian is splitting up from his group (Cope and Christian looks like the plan based on Copeland's new one-syllable name and the way both guys ended almost hand in hand at the end of Revolution), Storm has a new feud (the complete mystery as to where Storm and Mariah could go after their feud ended is another reason that match might have faltered as a main event even if the match itself was much better than the main event we got), and Orange Cassidy, who AEW have conditioned me to see as an opening act, main evented against a guy who was never going to beat him in a match which made both guys come off worse. There's almost enough happening for me to say this episode was okay enough but the general quality of matches was subpar."
[9.0] "Very fun Dynamite that was a bit different from usual, in the sense that the focus on more on the promo segments than the actual in ring action. Great to see Speedball make his debut"
[8.0] "Given the amount of carnage that happened at Revolution '25, this was a very entertaining show that had some solid story beats despite quite a few people probably need a week off from in ring action. Omega delivered a solid promo and the stare down with Shibata was a nice touch. The lucha heavy tag match was a blast. Cage is a solid base. Speedball didn't get too much of a reaction when a came out but by the end of the match, the crowd got it. When the Acclaimed were winding down I was bored with Caster. His current gimmick is incredibly entertaining and getting destroyed by Takeshita felt like a breaking point. The women's match was fine. OC v. Hechicero was entertaining even if I think Hechicero winning would've been the more intriguing result. The Christian/Wayne segment was well done. You don't see Nick doing a lot of talking in these kind of segment and I thought he handled himself quite well. I wasn't fond of Christian's cash in at Revolution but tonight's follow-up caused me to re-evaluate that a bit."
"It was a good dynamite! I was looking forward for when Bailey would make his arrival. I think they picked a great opponent for his first match, and Cassidy should also be a nice second opponent! I must admit the video of Toni storm and Mariah may was excellent! I am very curious if/when they will collide and they should have main evented the last PPV! I am also looking forward for Omega vs Okada for a possible unification of the title. Okada's title should have always been just a trophee...Anyway the next PPV will be crazy !"
[7.0] "A very good, very enjoyable episode of Dynamite. Highlights were Mike Bailey's debut and subsequent match with Mortos, great match, Christian's segment with Nick Wayne, which was the best thing Christian has done in months, and the in-ring promo between MJF and MVP. I'm super interested to see where they go with MJF and The Hurt Syndicate. Not every thing on the show tonight was a hit, however. I actually thought the main event was very underwhelming, and I'm not really interested in seeing OC with the International Title again."
[10.0] "This might've been my favorite Dynamite of the year and while I am all for different opinions I am genuinely shocked there are people hating on it. All matches were at least fun with the Speedball debut being pretty good but more importantly there was a plethora of really strong promos on this show with such good shit teased. Every match from Revolution was even followed up which AEW usually sucks at, the Megan Bayne push materialized and she seems like she's going after Toni. Kenny teasing matches with Shibata and more importantly Joe is tasty. Ospreay, Jay, Swerve, MJF, Hangman, Christian and Cope all wanting to go after the title is good shit. Kenny got to cut a classic babyface champion promo and we have some interesting direction for Max. On top of all that we had a really hot crowd and many matches set for the next two episodes and possibly three matches already set for Dynasty. A perfect post-PPV show, even the street fight match announced for next week makes sense and the Mox promo was surprisingly good. Cope and Christian cut decent promos too and loved the Nick Wayne stuff. Best show of the year IMO even if it didn't have a GREAT match."
[3.0] "Simply put, the wrestling on this episode was extremely underwhelming and if I paid for a ticket to this show I would consider never going to an AEW show again. 2 of 6 matches were jobber bouts. 3 of 6 were half-speed disappointments. If you want to tell me that Ospreay, Hangman, Toni Storm, etc. shouldn't be going full-speed after a PPV then I'm in agreement. If you're going to tell me that Powerhouse Hobbs, Willow Nightingale, and Orange Cassidy can't do more than halfspeed, including in the main event of Dynamite, I'm going to tell you you're full of shit. None of them went full speed, none of them were laying in their strikes even a little (even fucking Takeshita wasn't willing to slap Max Caster who hasn't had an actually physical match for months), and none were willing to do spots even a little interesting or a little physically demanding. This is by no means a shock to anyone watching AEW in 2025. It has gelded it television wrestling product in favor of backstage interviews, video packages, and sports entertainment bullshit. Why have Mortos do a cool wrestling spot when you can have fucking Harley Cameron do a little stupid dance? But this show was by far one of AEW's worst in-ring efforts of the year. Shameful shit from a promotion claiming to consistently deliver the best. Leave it to the new AEW signee to come in and have a genuinely solid match. Wonder who will talk to Bailey after the show and tell him to slow down because it makes everyone else look bad."
[8.0] "A very good focused Dynamite with an absolute ton of stuff happening, almost too much stuff lol, there seems to be a real solid focus within AEW and the roster finally feels established, no more johnny-come-latelies here today gone tomorrow not wanting to do business, a company that feels like it finally has it's roster, awesome promos, awesome follow ups from the show and some great in-ring action, a cool debut in Speedball, some great womens action elevating Megan Bayne, a big thumbs up overall, wonderful stuff."
