[8.0] "Solid follow-up to Genesis. All of the matches were good (admittedly, there's only four lol) -- Rascalz-Fraxiom was fast, great, and set up Rascalz' continuing issues with Wes Lee. Hardys-System matches are always fun, and Jeff's swanton bomb is just beautiful. Six-way women's tag match was great; Spitfire are real fun, and I liked the Personal Concierge's little cowboy hat. Joe Hendry retaining is deeply unsurprising (he had only won it like, four days before this, I was there :) it was great) but the match was solid nonetheless. I think my only "meh" moment was Alexander's promo; I have never found him that interesting though."
[8.0] "After a blockbuster PPV, TNA didn't hesitate and utilized the huge buzz to present the first live weekly in nearly a decade as cool as possible. Presentation-wise, this was the best TNA looked at in a long time. The returns of Matt Cardona & Mustafa Ali, the NXT crossovers as new/advanced storylines, and the insane atmosphere helped a lot for TNA to kickstart their plan for everything in style. Even though it's not a constant change, I'd take a live weekly once a month to be as hyped and loaded as this episode."
[6.0] "I expected more from the first LIVE episode of Impact! in 8 years. It's not to say that show was bad, it's just that my expactations were higher. I just didn't understand one thing - if Josh Alexander quit TNA at Genesis, and the only reason he appeared on this show was because he was "contractually" obligated, how Eric Young (whose neck is huge, btw) DARES to book him for a match next week, and why Josh agreed to the match so easily and without any objection - he's not part of the company anymore, so what's the deal? I understand that the next week's show was taped the same day, but in kayfaybe Alexander has to come back in one week to WRESTLE for a company he DOESN'T even work for anymore! But something tells me Alexander actually re-signed with TNA, and all of this is just a work..."
[8.0] "It's refreshing to have a live weekly and apparently we're going to get it once a month to start with. Josh Alexander will get one last match and it would be good to get Northern Armory to win to put them a little over. The arrival of Mance Warner with the Digital Media title makes me think they should drop him to create a hardcore championship, they have a roster that would fit nicely into a small division with him, Callihan, Eric Young, Steve Maclin, Mike Santana, Eddie Edwards and Jake Something. The return and signing of Ali very good choice, his first stint was very good. JBL on Hendry's side now what's that?"
[4.0] "Production-wise, this was the best TNA TV has looked in a long time. There was also a great energy to the show with it being live, and some fun angles along the way. However, every match was pretty paint by numbers and all four involved outside shenanigans, whether that was distraction angles or interference. Apparently that's how we tell stories now though..."
[5.0] "This was literally a WWE TV show out of late 00's-early 10's, on a smaller stage and Joe Hendry as the champion. I guess the only positive that there was a clear focus on the World Title picture - Kazarian has MITB-esque gimmick, Santana has momentum after beating Alexander clean and Ali is someone who has everything to gain in a big spot in the context of TNA, plus Nemeth is most likely will be looming around. Best match though was FrAxiom vs. Rascalz, just an excellent sprint that's absolutely worth cherry picking if you cba with watching the entire show, everything else was skippable, especially that hilarious Main Event - I mean, you don't book a babyface like that if you want solidify him at the top for as he needs to be there, it's pretty clear that decision makers don't quite believe in him (pun intended)."
[9.0] "Strong show that featured fallout from Genesis while setting things in motion for the rest of the winter/early spring. Big returns and debuts and not just NXT or former WWE names. Good wrestling throughout and good promos and angles."
[8.0] "Getting a title in a divorce is hilarious and I'll take no guff about it. Mancer is a great get; he's the only guy on the roster who can give you an old school bloody Monster's Ball match that Abyss used to have. The Northern Armory looked great in their turn on Josh, and Joe Hendry is still over like rover and rightfully started and finished the show. Cardona was a great one-time surprise defense given the live atmosphere, but personally I think he's not coming back ... the Rumble is coming up and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to the fed. Anyway, I thought this was a fun dip into live TV for TNA."
[6.0] "Great energy in the building for their first live show in 8 years. Women's tag team match was decent, Dani Luna once again the standout performer for me. Cora Jade interferes costing them the win, further setting up her match against Masha. I don't really care about 'the system' at all, the lame name and entrance theme doesn't help either. Hardys still get massive reactions, but was ok, nothing special. Sami Callahan comes out looking fatter than ever talking about '23'. Turns out 23 is Steph de Lander, lights go out and her boyfriend Vance Warner is now in the ring, no reaction whatsoever from the fans. This is the guy that main evented that abysmal attempt at joining the big time from GCW that took place at the same time as Genesis. He sticks out like a sore thumb in a real fed, just some skinny unkempt 45yo bum in street clothes, no wonder nobody cared, I hope TNA come to their senses and don't ever bring this nobody back. Up next we had the NXT champs against the rascals, first time seeing them and they were pretty good, fun little high energy match. Mustafa Ali then interrupts Santana, cutting a boring promo announcing he signed to TNA, I will never care about this guy and most people in the building seemed to share my feelings towards him. Tessa Blanchard comes out, soaking in the hate, she is perfect in this role. She talks about her family whilst doing the tired old 'insult the local sports team' thing. The promo then picks back up, the crowd is relentless in their booing. ''The standard here at TNA has just been raised'' she says, could not agree more. Main event followed, I have to say - Cardona as a main eventer in any fed worth a damn is just ridiculous, I will never be able to take him seriously as a top guy. Match was decent but Cardona was made to look too strong in my opinion, JBL then interferes and Hendry wins. Overall a good show, matches were alright, most of the promos were good too. Best part was Tessa's promo due to the sheer reaction she got from the crowd. Worst part was bum ass Warner's debut, they didn't explain who he was but we are meant to take him seriously as some ultra dangerous madman despite the fact he looks weaker and worse than everyone else on TNA's roster, hope they cut their losses and never bring this whole thing up again, especially since the 23 thing has apparently been going on for months, so this weak reveal is even more insulting. Looking forward to Cora v Masha, more Dani Luna and Tessa and of course Joe Hendry."
[7.0] "Overall a pretty good show with good Promos and solid matches. Some where better (Fraxiom/ Rascalz; Hendry/ Cardona) some where rather okay (Hardys/ System; 6 Women Tag). The promos where solid, Alexanders story is pretty interesting to me, Hendry adressing the people was nice. The 23 reveal was underwhelming though I think that the divorce is a fun way of stripping PCO of the title and giving it to someone else. NXTNA has so much potentiall, IF they use it to benefit both sides, 2025 is going to be an amazing year for TNA"
[7.0] "I liked the show. Not great, but pretty solid live episode with new (old) wrestlers to be back in TNA. Lots of different stories were seed today which could grow into big matches later this year. The best moment for me was Tessa's promo and that boo from crowd. It's a top-level heel, pure gem, which TNA should not waste. The worst moment was this story with 23 and all the hype around that.. TNA just fkup there."
[7.0] "With this being the first LIVE episode of TNA Impact in 8 years, it was solid throughout from the matches, solid promos as well from Joe Hendry, Josh Alexander, Mike Santana and Tessa Blanchard and a returning Mustafa Ali. 23 being revealed as a returning Steph De Lander and debuting Mance Warner was shocking to see. Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance & Rosemary vs Dani Luna, Jody Threat & Masha Slamovich: In a match that Heather, Ash and Rosemary had a point to prove and momentum to regain following their respective losses at Genesis, the match was solid for an opening match in which Slamovich got distracted by Cora Jade who came down to the ring and allowed Ash, Heather and Rosemary to get the win [**3/4]. Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs JDC & Moose: Alisha kept trying to get involved to help The System win, but The Hardys proved why they are the best tag team in TNA with a decent win [**1/2]. Nathan Frazer & Axiom vs Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz: Both teams have a similiar style and pace and it showed here, Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe interfered and targeted The Rascalz and caused them to lose should not have happened [***]. Joe Hendry vs Matt Cardona: Hendry defended the title for the first time against Cardona in a match that had a ref bump that may have not been needed, Cardona low blowing Hendry, John Layfield coming to the ring from the crowd again, solid match though if I am being honest [***3/4]"
