[7.0] "This was a fun event, my first TNA event in years, actually. I enjoyed the ring setup, the Grace Vs. Blanchard match was great (I don't give s shit about Blanchard's personal views, nor should anyone else), Joe Hendry getting his moment was good, and the whole event seemed like something I'd like to see more of...I've started watching TNA from the beginning, so I will get there eventually...in years, probably."
[8.0] "After all the massive buzz created, this was a mega success for TNA. With a sold-out crowd in years, a well-balanced match card, and a string of incredible moments (thanks to NXT's alliance); Genesis was a huge tone shift for TNA. Grace/Tessa stole the night alongside the sweet ending to Hendry's story. Overall, a PPV that stood tall as one of the best of the year very early."
[7.0] "This had some definite highlights. Grace vs Blanchard was very good - obviously the viewer's mileage may vary with Tessa's controversial presence. I actually enjoyed the Santana vs Alexander I Quit match more and pick that as my MOTN - I liked how the intensity built from early grappling to increasingly-desperate hardcore action, fitting the story of Santana trying to take his place as a top star in the company. The main event, with Hendry "finishing his story, " was also a welcome if overdue result. Elsewhere, the Moose-Austin opener was pretty solid, and while the rest was decent enough if not as remarkable. I'd probably go a 6.5 if half-ratings were allowed; since they're not, rounded up on the strength of its best moments."
[6.0] "It's been a while since I watched TNA last time and I just remembered why. I find the stories and match quality ueven. There was nothing wrong with the show, but it was just uneven. I really liked the "I quit match" and Tessa vs. Jordynne matches though. They were great. Other than that a quite average show."
[6.0] "Blanchard vs Grace was easily the best match on the show and may end up being one of the best women's matches all year. Santana vs Alexander was really good too. The opener with Moose vs Austin was also pretty solid, but other than that it didn't live up to the hype. Nemeth vs Hendry was better than their match at Bound For Glory when they should have switched the title, but it wasn't anything special. Hendry got himself over with his song, but isn't all that great once the bell rings. Grace will be a big loss for TNA and I'm sure others will depart for NXT/WWE at some point too. We'll see how the WWE partnership goes from here but WWE doesn't have a great history of playing well with others. Vince may be gone and things are running more smoothly, but I'm not convinced WWE is any different at its core. They're still a MAGA loving, Saudi funded, ruthless corporation. TNA has survived a lot over the two plus decades it has existed. Will it survive getting into bed with the Death Star of wrestling?"
[10.0] "TNA is a hot promotion, and with the WWE deal announced, lots of eyeballs, a sold out arena, and the proposed blowoff of Joe Hendry's chase to the TNA Title, they delivered. This is the kind of show, that when there's a big miss, could lead toward a downturn. This was a massive success. 10/10"
[5.0] "This show was presented as a bigger deal compared to many other 'big' TNA shows at least in 2020s, but in the end, as per usual, it ended up being just 'pretty good, but nothing close to great', which isn't the best endorsement in day and age where good isn't good enough and there's plenty more great stuff to watch. Before the bell Grace/Blanchard was an interesting match for a few reasons, but after the crowd got everything out of their system they died down which made in-riing action and big spots they did feel less that they intended to be - I don't believe they genuinely cared about the outcome or even seeing Blanchard being beaten up. Santana/Alexander was the best match here and it felt like an important step forward in Santana's career. Main Event was all about making sure that the biggest pop would be for Hendry's triumph, the match succeeded at that and the crowd seemed to be happy with the result."
[8.0] "Here it goes - my first ever TNA PPV I watched from start to finish (skipping some matches, of course). To say the show was fantastic would be an understatement - there were at least three GREAT matches you should get out of your way to watch, including the main event. Speaking of the main event - what kind of curse is this? Why I can't have Nic Nemeth as World Champion in my life? I've been a fan of his since 2013. His WWE runs as the champion were jokes and not even worth talking about. Finally, he becomes the World Champion in TNA - in a company I don't watch because of the lack of time. Six months later I finally find room for TNA, especially since Nic Nemeth is their World Champion. Guess what happens literally the same week? Right, Nic loses his World Title. Why I can't have it good? To be honest, I felt like Joe Hendry might win the title, so I wasn't surprised. It was the right choice, as no one in TNA is as hot as Joe right now. P.S. Is it only me, or Joe Hendry doesn't look TNA? For me, he looks NXT/WWE - he's WWE material from head to toe. I'm almost 100% sure that when his contract with TNA exprires he will go to WWE."
[6.0] "First Time TNA in 2025 and I thought was a solid PPV whilst some minor issues for me mainly the first half > the later half. Some of the matches that I enjoyed were Jordynne Grace Vs. Tessa Blanchard & The I Quit Match aside from that the rest of the card vary from Meh to serviceable."
[7.0] "Tessa vs Grace MOTN but that was no surprise. Hendry finally gets the belt back but the JBL buckle will have to be explained at some point. Great opener too between Moose and Ace Austin although I would have preferred a title change. Interesting to see Fraxiom, they'll be challenging the Rascalz at Impact Live this Thursday. There might be a segment on NXT on Wednesday to hyper the match. It's already much better as names than anything that's happened so far, just a little more effort."
[10.0] "Another one of those TNA shows where they understand every matches' role and position and give all of them the appropriate spot and time. Even the countdown was very good. Not one dud on the show. When the worst match is "pretty good", you've got a winner. A couple Match of the Year front runners."
[7.0] "it was cute. first time ive watched a TNA PPV since i started following wrestling and i enjoyed my time watching it. they finally let joe hendry have the title and i saw rosemary on my screen. overall fun"
[5.0] "A decidedly middling first PPV outing of the year for TNA. In many ways it was a success for them - good production, a good crowd and they've almost certainly acquired new fans by delivering their most WWE-adjacent show yet. Blanchard/Grace was the best match but had its issues, with the main event and the I Quit matches not far behind."
[6.0] "Not the greatest but not the worst show from TNA. Cool seeing some WWE guys here like Cora Jade and Fraxiom. Two really great matches here that I recommend people watching are the Jordynne Grace/Tessa Blanchard match and the Santana/Josh Alexander matches. Other then that this show didn't do a great job holding my attention. Not saying the other matches were bad just wasn't invested in some matches like I was others. Also shouts out Joe Hendery for finally winning the strap."
[6.0] "Tessa vs Jordynne was very good but unfortunately the only match on the card I felt was worth watching. I came in with high expectations but this promotion is just sorely lacking star power and people that make me want to keep watching. This hurts the in ring storytelling for the matches on this card because so many of the stars they do have are either leaving or one foot out the door so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's hard to buy Joe Hendry as the guy, I know people love him but he's so mediocre in the ring and this main event was so slow to get out of the gates that I'm not particularly looking forward to his future title reign/defenses."
[7.0] "That was fun! Incredible match between Tessa and Jordynne, a great I Quit match and a decent world title match in the main event. The only not so good matches were the two tag-team matches. Everything else was solid."
[9.0] "I will put a higher score in advance for TNA in this year. Everything was great and interesting to watch, except team matches. But still, Tessa and Grace stole the show for me and I think this is a great start of a new yer (new era? ) of TNA wrestling. They should work hard to keep this dynamic and stories for upcoming live shows. I really hope that TNA could become much more interesting then AEW nowadays."
"One of the best Tna ppvs I've seen in awhile.highlights for me were... moose vs Austin( was really impressed by Austin's selling throughout the match) the I quit match had some great moments and Santana definitely has the main championship in his future, Tessa vs Jordan was match of the night,"
[6.0] "Only two matches really worth watching, and unfortunately one of them involved the racist Tessa Blanchard. Shame that they made Jordynne do the job to her on her way out. Though the two that are worth watching are exceptional. It's 2025, why are the washed Hardys as tag champs still a thing?"
[9.0] "Being there in person really showed what this company and what pro wrestling as a whole can do when they listen to the fans. Matches were great, results were OK but the blossoming relationship between WWE and TNA showed here too. With Jordynne most likely leaving it is time to push Masha Slamovich to the MOON"
[7.0] "More than anything, a demonstration that match quality is still able to deliver you from bad creative decisions. Because even though the Blanchard/Grace and Santana/Alexander matches were really good, the creative behind this entire event leaves a lot to be desired. Moose with the X-Division Title is still a joke; I know "it's not about weight limits, it's about no limits", but the prestige of the title requires a certain workmate which Moose rather lacks. Maybe with another midcard title, he could be believable about it, but such is the eternal #LOLTNA that it was 1, 500 miles away getting the Madusa treatment because management forgot to re-up his contract. Oops. Tessa and Jordynne put on the match of the night, but nobody wants to see Tessa get any sort of push in 2025. The Hardys have been on a slow decline for a few years now, so having them go over when the Rascals are what TNA needs in this day and age feels like a mis-step too. And then there's the main event, in which I think they waited too long to pull the trigger. Spinning the wheels on Hendry has demonstrably hurt his stock, because as of late, it feels like the meme is getting forced a little too much. Still, it was a decent show. Not world-beating, but well worth the price to pay for it. You just have to roll with TNA being wont to make the silliest decisions known to man."
[8.0] "After the absolute mess that was Bound For Glory (Slamovich & Grace aside) and the unfortunate return of Tessa Blanchard at Turning Point. I was worried that Genesis would be another TNA show that had all the right components and did all the wrong things with them. But thankfully I was happily surprised! Some fun stuff on the kickoff show got me ready for this new era of TNA where NXT stars can come and go, if you had told someone in 2011 this was how things would go they'd probably ask "what's an nxt? ". Moose VS Ace Austin was a good opener, new belt looks nice and Ace Austin's singles run so far has worked for me. I think it was the right decision to have Moose retain, I'd like for him to use it to cash in on the TNA World Title eventually. Young & Maclin beating the System was fine, I really think Maclin and Hammerstone should be getting much more TV Time and pushes than they have been. Spitfire retaining against the Elegance's was a pretty good match but I think TNA have dropped the ball a bit with Ash by Elegance, it's the best work of f.k.a Dana Brooke's career and I think she has earned a title, let Ash and Heather win those belts. Blanchard VS Grace was objectively a very good match but I just cant be happy that Blanchard is back and winning. This is probably Jordynne's last match in TNA and it's a great way to go out, by showing she's a professional despite not wanting to work with Tessa. Also I saw a video of her going backstage and hugging literally everybody but Tessa and I think that's absolutely ACE. I cannot believe she's 28 too! She has 15 years to go at a very good level, future is very very bright for her. Mike Santana VS Josh Alexander was another very good match! Santana deserves a lot of credit as I cant remember a bad match he's had in the past year. Josh Alexander quitting both the match and TNA was a surprise, I thought they might protect him a bit by having him pass out or something, but it sets up one last storyline for him before he leaves the company I suppose, thank you Josh Alexander, the wrestling machine. Hardys VS The Rascalz was fun, nothing special really. Very cool seeing Fraxiom here, and having them face off against the Rascalz again will be a great match. Slamovich vs Rosemary was okay, but again nothing special, good win for Slamovich and nice to see Cora Jade after the match squaring off with Masha, that should be another decent match. Hendry VS Nemeth was up next, and before the match I really thought TNA were going to screw Hendry again with either JBL, Kaz or Ryan Nemeth and somehow still Hendry wouldn't be world champion. But thankfully TNA finally pulled the trigger! (albeit about 4 months too late in traditional TNA fashion.) All 3 names did interfere and it made it another mess of a match, almost as bad as the first time these 2 faced off, it feels like Vince McMahon has taken over TNA's main event booking and is just throwing literally anything at the wall. For as convoluted and messy as the match was with interference, the ending sequence was actually really great ngl, and I was thoroughly happy when the final bell rung, well done to Joe Hendry, the modern day Zack Ryder who actually managed to carry his momentum against unexplainable booking to win the big one. It was a good show, a feel good main event and some good surprises along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Hopefully we get something similar at the next big show, but with one big difference, let the main event be without some bollocks."
[9.0] "Haven't followed TNA in almost a year but Tessa's return spurred my interest, so I figured I'd give this show a shot and I'm glad I did so. Great atmosphere in the packed venue all through the night, almost all the matches were enjoyable, good production value and commentary, all around a very solid show with plenty of memorable moments - Tessa Blanchard justifying her arrogance with a very strong performance, Josh Alexander passing the torch to Santana, Hardys still got it, the NXT presence and of course Joe Hendry finally winning the title. As he was celebrating with the crowd I was thinking 'this was a damn great show, can't wait for the next one'. Overall a massive success and I am gonna finally start following TNA again"
[10.0] "This shit RULED. Hardys have held up insanely well, Rascalz are great, Tessa-Jordynne was good too, Ace and Moose went hard as hell. Plus Joe Hendry really won me over! This ruled! First PPV I've been to !"
[10.0] "I don't mind giving it a TEN 10. The best ppv in a long time, amazing almost all matches, simply incredible. The appearance and clash of Fraser and Axioma was predicted long ago; FrAxioma is the as young Hardy Boys. Jordyn Grace is a wrestling machine, that mem quote "women can't wrestle", it's not about her. Layfield with his clothsline from hell always amazes with realism, and Hendry has finally come to his finest hour, I beeeelieeeeved in Jooooe Heeendry. \_(*=*)_/ The show will go down in history."
[9.0] "Great first show of the year for TNA. The show opened with a classic X Division contest between Moose and Ace Austin. There was obvious filler between the two back to back tag matches after the opener, but they were solid. Santana and Alexander had an I Quit Match that was really brutal and fun. Grace and Tessa set the tone for 2025 with 10/10 banger. Rascalz vs Hardy's wasn't as good as I was hoping but could have been holding back for another meeting down the road. Masha vs Rosemary was just a touch boring in places. Could have done what was needed without it being falls count everywhere. Hendry finally winning the title makes this instantly one of the most iconic shows in company history."
[8.0] "### TNA Genesis Review **Venue:** Curtis Culwell Center, Dallas, TX (Sold Out - Approximately 6, 000 fans) --- **Moose vs. Ace Austin (16 minutes)** **Rating: 4/5** Very good match with nice ring psychology and a very good pace. Good way to introduce someone to TNA. Pro wrestling has to be believable and make sense. Nice spots and a good finish. Moose retains. --- **Edwards and Myers vs. Maclin and Eric Young (10 minutes)** **Rating: 2.8/5** Beautiful referee. Eric Young is a great wrestler for his size and age. Good use of Alyssa Edwards as a distraction. An okay match with good pace and solid ring psychology, though it wasn't pay-per-view worthy. --- **Spitfire vs. Ash and Heather (Knockouts Tag Title Match) (10 minutes)** **Rating: 2.8/5** Nice tag team action and timing from the champions and challengers. Amazing work from Spitfire; both ladies are very talented wrestlers, especially Luna with her strong style. Great slingshot deadlift German suplex from Luna to Ash and a solid finish. On the downside, teams didn't have much chemistry, and it didn't feel like an important match. --- **Jordynne Grace vs. Tessa Blanchard (21 minutes)** **Rating: 4.5/5 (Match of the Night)** Tessa has incredible charisma and is a great heel. Great technical wrestling by both ladies. They have great chemistry, showcasing why women's wrestling should be respected. A match filled with emotion and great wrestling. The finish with the turnbuckle pad could have been smoother for a five-star rating. Tessa wins. --- **Mike Santana vs. Josh Alexander (I Quit Match) (22 minutes)** **Rating: 2/5** It was violent but didn't click for me. Both guys couldn't convincingly portray hatred, and the ending felt fake. They should have been shattered and broken after an I Quit match. --- **The Hardyz vs. The Rascalz (Tag Team Championship Match) (15 minutes)** **Rating: 3/5** An okay match with nice pace and good ring work. The highlight was the NXT tag champs Frazer & Axiom sitting ringside. The Hardyz win. --- **Slamovich vs. Rosemary (TNA Knockouts Championship - Clock Orange House of Fun Match) (16 minutes)** **Rating: 2.5/5** Amazing video package. Both have great charisma. The match got brutal quickly, feeling better than the I Quit match due to selling. However, the choreographed table spot detracted from the match. The finish involved a piledriver from the top rope to four chairs. --- **Joe Hendry vs. Nic Nemeth (TNA World Championship Match) (22 minutes)** **Rating: 4/5** Nice pace and good basics. The match dragged a bit, but the work and psychology were on point. JBL interfered, leading to a picture-perfect classic wrestling finish. Joe Hendry wins and captures the TNA World Championship, receiving a solid crowd reaction. --- ### Overall Impression A very enjoyable pay-per-view and a nice way to kick off the new era of TNA."
[9.0] "What a great first PPV of 2025 for TNA, enjoyed every match, and a great title change which was a while coming, some NXT wrestlers made their presence felt at the PPV and great crowd in Curtis Culwell Centre in Texas made this a breeze to watch. Moose vs Ace Austin: A tenacious performance on the side of Austin even if he did lose, there were times it looked like Austin was gonna win, The System distractions were not needed but not surprising they happened though, a solid opening match for Genesis [***3/4]. Eric Young & Steve Maclin vs Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards: EY and Maclin getting the win was good to see, Alisha should have been ejected from ringside by the referee but did not happen when she got involved in the ring, the match was solid in itself [***1/2]. Dani Luna & Jody Threat vs Ash By Elegance & Heather By Elegance: The champions Luna & Threat showed why they are the champions by winning despite the distraction from The Personal Concierge and the tactics of Ash & Heather, Heather being thrown out of the ring by Threat looked like a brutal bump [***1/4]. Tessa Blanchard vs Jordynne Grace: MOTN in my opinion, What a KO match! They fought with everything they had and more, had a physical match with some memorable moments like Grace hitting Blanchard with a Death Valley Driver off the ring steps onto the arena floor also Blanchard hitting a Buzzsaw DDT on Grace on the exposed turnbuckle, definitely worth watching [****1/2]. Mike Santana vs Josh Alexander: Both had a tenacious will to go through whatever it took to get the other one to say I Quit, brutal moments in this one, Santana getting the win was good to see [****1/4]. Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz: This was a first time ever dream match, and I enjoyed it just as much as I thought I would, NXT Tag Team Titleholders Nathan Frazer & Axiom coming down to ringside to watch this play out and Frazer nearly getting physical with Miguel & Wentz was interesting and intrigued to see where this goes down the road [***3/4]. Masha Slamovich vs Rosemary: An interesting and unique match that had some cool spots, the reintroduction of Janice (2x4 with nails in), they had a decent match, Masha retaining was okay but then post match Cora Jade (from NXT) made her first appearance and confronted Masha which was intriguing [***1/4]. Joe Hendry vs Nic Nemeth: Better than their match at Bound For Glory, even though John Layfield did come to ringisde but that was to stop Frankie Kazarian cashing in his Call Your Shot gauntlet trophy and to stop Ryan Nemeth from getting involved, the match was really well worked and enjoyable from bell to bell, Hendry FINALLY can call himself World Champion which was the right choice and way to go here [****]"
