[8.0] "I thought this was a good show and a good tribute to ECW! I hope they make this a yearly thing and make it even bigger next year. Page & Ridge Vs Trick & Bubba was a fun match and loved seeing Devon getting involved. Also great seeing ECW legends like Rhino, Dawn Marie, Nunzio, Chris Candido & Francine. The best match I thought was Jaida Parker Vs Lola Vice and the main event. Overall good show"
[8.0] "An absolute heartfelt tribute to ECW and the 2300 Arena. This episode of NXT delivered in every single way and managed to be humble and loyal to the audience. We had great matches, moments and ECW wrestlers showing up like Nunzio, Rhino, D-Von Dudley, Tony Mamaluke and Dawn Marie. This is an episode that can get you hooked to NXT and I'm glad they did justice here. [****]"
[8.0] "I was excited for this show, seemed like they were going to line up (hopefully) some things to make a smaller ECW tribute show of sorts with this NXT. Parker-Vice was a pretty good standard plunder match, some of the spots werent as impactful as I might have liked, and Dawn Marie wasnt one of the better guest referees, but loved more the creativity of the spots and items, a brick thrown in there was a nice little touch, but had some issue with Lolas facial selling, while Parker sold her back through the match decently well (6/10) Pre-match angle with Lee-Evans was a decent set up, but RVD didnt do as much in the match, which was kind of disappointing. The action from Lee and Evans was great, though I dont understand why the crowd was so dead for a bit, but great spots here (7/10) Fun segment with Rhyno for a little pop, was a good touch. The tag team match was nothing to write home about, except for a surprising ending where Ridge pinned Trick, sets up a championship match down the line In sure. Bubba looked gassed from the beginning (and I originally thought/hoped for a Bubba-Trick championship match, kinda glad I didnt get it now). Nothing really special here other than the ending (5/10). The Nunzio-DAngelo squash match, set up earlier in the night, was how it should be used in my opinion. Little Guido gets his hits in, put down in a small amount of time, what should be happening (5/10). Now the 10-woman tag, man, definitely the highlight, lot of good showings from each woman there, and Zaria pinning Roxanne has me really questioning what the next move is for the Womens Championship scene, I honestly wish they protected Roxanne a bit more, she deserves the push shes gotten (9/10). Good showing from the main event, but the rest of the card left me a bit wanting."
[8.0] "I thought this was a very solid tribute to ECW with tons of returns that made me happy. Obviously your mileage with this show is how much you liked ECW and personally I'm a mark for them so I hadda blast. Even my friend that dosent watch wrestling enjoyed it quite abit to. Really dope show"
[3.0] "Eh, this didn't do much for me. About the only way you could get a more diametrically-opposed match in products to current-day NXT and classic-era ECW would be to bring back Chikara and have them put on an FMW tribute show, so it all felt a little disingenuous. The opener was a very stiff, over-rehearsed-feeling hardcore match between talents not really cut out for a match of that type, and while it had a few cool spots, Lola kicking out at two from the brick shot before getting pinned by Jaida's sliding something was a little ridiculous. Also, while it was nice to see Dawn Marie - I never would've expected her back in WWE after the circumstances of her departure (and she still looks good! ) - her reffing was... not exactly great. Evans vs Lee was a solid TV match, but the execution of RVD's interference felt awkward - was he supposed to hit Lee but Evans jumped the gun on his dive to the outside? Trick & Bubba vs Page & Ridge was a bit dull, but the post-match angle with D'Von coming out with the table was fun. The D'Angelo Family vs FBI mini-story to the match between Tony and Nunzio was also fun, but I wish the match got a little more time as Nunzio can still go (I saw him wrestle live a few months ago and he was great! ) And the main event was good, but was the one match that didn't really have anything to fit the episode's theme and could've been on any NXT episode. ECW reunion and tribute shows have now been going on longer than the promotion itself actually existed, and there have been some notable highlights, such as the 2005 One Night Stand and the first Hardcore Homecoming event (the former of which remains one of my all-time favorite wrestling shows), but they have generally had diminishing returns for some time and at this point the magic seems to have really and truly dissipated - I think it's past time to leave the memories alone."
[3.0] "Never have two promotions been more anathema to one another than modern NXT and ECW. NXT is the antithesis of everything that ECW stood for and was, so holding a show in their spiritual home felt like an insult quite frankly. There were some ECW alum cameos but otherwise this was just an NXT show. The opener was horrendous and the Bully Ray tag was dull as dishwater - otherwise the matches just existed. The gulf in quality, feel and natural instincts in the main event between the actual wrestlers and the PC trainees was enormous."
[9.0] "Im a huge ecw fan and i really thought this hit all the points it needed to for an ecw tribute show. Lots of legends and 3/4 of these matches (not including tony vs guido) felt like ecw tv matches. Loved this episode"
[7.0] "NXT comes to the old ECW Arena and I just want to point out that the ECW tribute shows have lasted almost twice as long as the actual ECW, not that Im complaining, it was a very influential promotion that I love, but it is a little funny. Other than a cascade of former ECW legends including Rob Van Dam, Bubba Ray Dudley, Nunzio, Dawn Marie, and a surprise appearance from Rhyno, there really wasnt a distinct ECW or really even an extreme flavor to this show, mostly feeling like another episode of NXT, albeit a very goof episode that included a stellar main event. The all-star tag match was a great spectacle, spotlighting each of the women on the face team expertly. The hardcore match between Jaida Parker and Lola Vice was fun, as was the match between JeVon Evans and Wes Lee. The tag team match between Trick Williams & Bubba Ray v. Ethan Page & Ridge Holland was what it should have been, but I am perfectly fine with not seeing Bubba Ray back on TV to plug Busted Open again. The surprise appearance of D-Von Dudley was great to see though. A good show that did little to really differentiate itself from the weekly NXT product, but still a successful week for them nonetheless."
[5.0] "I'm not so fond of this one. I felt the nostalgia moments didn't really hit it in a NXT show and none of the action was actually memorable or as 'extreme' as I would have expected. The men's tag was completely skippable and the main event was at least fun."
[8.0] "A good show to watch overall. A big ECW fan service side well exploited overall. When you are a long-time ECW fan like me it is extremely pleasant. Few commercial breaks in the matches I found, after the show lasts a little less than 1h30 and I don't usually watch NXT weeklies. I would have loved for the entrance stage to look like that of ECW with the brick wall. The intro of the ECW style show is worth gold. A good opener and a nice Main Event. MOTN: 10 Women's Tag Team. (4*)"
[8.0] "All - around a very fun episode of NXT. I love the special tribute to ECW having a lot of the ECW Legends appearing and even competing in some matches. The ladies stole the show in the opener, and main event I love the highlight the women's division get in NXT they're honestly one of the best divisions in wrestling today. This is what I wanna see weekly I hope this can be a start to consistent television for NXT because this was such a super fun episode of NXT."
[7.0] "Solid show it was a bit of fun nostalgia mixed in with some of the best NXT currently has to offer. Main highlights for me was the Jevon vs Wes lee match the opener hardcore match and the 10 women main event tag were all good. Only things I really didnt care for was the bad bubba Ray tag match and the tony d squash neither were any good."
[8.0] "A rare ECW tribute show that actually aided the product doing it in its present and future. No amazing must see matches, but Evans vs. Lee and the ten woman tag main event were all good, and the vibe was fun. A enjoyable evening of wrestling on both fronts."
[8.0] "I thought this was a great episode of NXT emanating from the historic ECW Arena. Honestly, the only issue I had with this show was the fact that this should have been a PLE. Just a special event where there are no commercial breaks and no need to censor stuff. The opening match especially between Lola Vice and Jaida Parker, which I thought was great, was really hurt by the commercial interruptions and censoring of the chants. And the same goes for the main event. If this was just beginning to end a PLE card with maybe longer matches and more fun ECW nostalgia (which I am definitely of the belief that nostalgia can be good) it woukd have been a top tier show. Also, because it was too short to rate, the Nunzio vs D'Angelo match was a lot of fun and Nunzio impressed me with how he can still move so well."
