[6.0] "While the ongoing storyline with nWo is still carrying things, the wrestling was a let down. The best stuff on this show was everything connected to the nWo where they ambush Luger into the parking and he's attacked by Sting. It was a shocking moment for sure and they somewhat obscure the frame up with wide shots and voice recordings and WCW somewhat fell into a bit of luck with the rain as it disgueses the fake Sting really well as he is not yet revealed as an imposter until the Fall Brawl PPV and really sells an unthinkable Sting heel turn really well and causes a lot of fun drama. WCW are losing to the nWo all the time and have a big weakness with a lack of trust within the roster and nWo exploit that really well with an angle like this. There's also some fun stuff with the video packages where there's a funny video of nWo selling their own merchandise. Unfortunately outside of the set ups, this was a weak show because the match quality is very poor all night and while there's been a big storyline with Nick Patrick making controversial calls in recent weeks, with the way other matches are going down it's hard to know what's a DQ and what isn't where you're seeing things like Public Enemy casually using tables or Randy Savage hitting John Tenta with a chair several times in front of the referee and nothing happens! Only the nWo/War Games storyline segments are really worth your time here."

[6.0] "One of the more memorable angles from Nitro happened on this night with the nWo fake Sting attacking Lex Luger in the parking lot during his match with Rick Steiner. Otherwise, a bunch of short matches that didn't mean anything with Hogan, Hall, Nash, The Giant, and DiBiase creating chaos in the back. The go-home episode before Fall Brawl and War Games. This was all about the storylines and not the in-ring action, which is okay every now and then."

[6.0] "Storyline was its fine, We get our WCW vs NWO stuff that's really good but not enough action for TV. Super Calo makes his Nitro debut to hype up him vs Mysterio. Carl Quellet and Jacques Rougeau debut on Nitro to get jobbed against Nasty Boys. It feels like nothing match wise was really important."

"Gooe Episode. Not a good really matches and the best match of them (misterio and kidman) ended on 2 minutes lol"

[8.0] "While lacking in top matches (though a few are pretty ok), this match hugely delivers in terms of story development as the nWo saga continues and features multiple all time great promos from Arn Anderson in particular. "You tried to put my eyes out with paint, but you should have used battery acid! ". The fake Sting betrayal is actually very well done."

[5.0] "The episode is focused on WCW vs NWO rivalry, with the supposed betrayal of Sting, that seems something big but also weird and impossible. There aren't good matches, everything serves as a filler for the main storyline of the War Games. The time is usually wasted on recaps, but it's still acceptable even with its flaws."
