[5.0] "Ich wundere mich ein bisschen über die höheren Wertungen, denn für mich war das nur eine soliude go-home Show vor Hog Wild. Die NWO war erneut nicht anwesend, was ich sehr schwach finde. Man konnte dadurch das World Title Match auch nur am Rande aufbauen, was mir nicht gefällt. Es gibt lediglich wieder ein Video der NWO, welches dieses Mal von Sting und Lex Luger unterbrochen wird, die daraufhin , , Geschenke" der NWO erhalten und bestätigt wird, dass es einen 4. Mann gibt. Von den Matches waren Benoit vs. Alex Wright und Regal vs. Savage ganz nett, der Rest allerdings nicht wirklich erwähnenswert."

[8.0] "There's not much standing out for me in terms of the matches, but this was still a very good show with a lot of interesting things happening with the roster after last week's chaos. Every heel that represents WCW like The Four Horseman and The Dungeon of Doom are now faces at this point where you have the Faces of Fear as well as Scott Norton at ringside for the duration of the show acting as security guards so that matches can happen. There's a great moment with the Four Horseman as well where Flair has a match with The Booty Man and it's just a big set up for all of them to beat him down badly because of his association with Hogan. They are currently rivals with the Dungeon of Doom as well and none of their members at ringside try to stop them and neither do any of the faces because of growing suspicions all show that there is a fourth nWo member. Flair and Arn Anderson's promo is really intense as well where they feel justified in their actions. Sting and Lex are also great too where they come out for their ally Savage's match with Regal to watch his back and then later they approach a limo that had a gag gift and then later it's revealed they're at a production truck when another 'paid for by the nWo' video is cut off. The Giant does heelish moves like chokeslamming Teddy Long and showing no remorse for his actions whatsoever, but he is still cheered for and presented like a good guy because he is about to fight Hogan. Heenan again refused to stick around because of the poor job WCW officials have done in recent weeks to make him feel safe doing his job and Eric Bischoff is also mysteriously absent. The tension with the nWo makes things feel unpredictable on a weekly basis and it also builds well for the next PPV for that alone."

[8.0] "Everything feels like it's changing in a flash. Dungeon of Doom is now acting like defacto face group despite still being heel. 4 Horseman beat down Booty Man because of his association with Hogan, yet they're still faces. The face wrestlers are fighting among themselves about who is the 4th man and threatening violence against one another. Everyone is fighting everyone and not the person they should be fighting."

[4.0] "Another 'baseline' Nitro episode, with mostly disappointing wrestling but decent storytelling. It was cool seeing the WCW wrestlers guard their fellow wrestlers' matches after the NWO's attack, smartly putting over the depth of the NWO invasion. Harlem Heat vs Rock 'n' Roll Express was fine. Heat showboated and used their physical superiority, while Express used their speed and teamwork. Booker looked pretty good. Shame about the interference. **. Malia vs Madusa was short but fine. A few awkward interactions but still a handful of decent spots. The interference finish sucked. NR. Benoit vs Wright was a decent match with yet another disappointing finish. Benoit was intense and aggressive as usual, while Wright showed decent babyface fire and some nice agile attacks. They had nice energy and speed in all their technical exchanges and spots. Jimmy, Woman, and Malenko bickered on the outside, eventually causing Benoit to get counted-out as he brawled with Malenko. At least a Benoit-vs-Malenko feud should be interesting. **3/4. Regal vs Savage was forgettable. Regal had his usual good, aggressive technical attacks, while Savage responded with equally aggressive but very generic brawling, staging a standard babyface comeback for the win. **. Sting and Luger sat at ringside during the match before going to inspect the NWO limo in the post-match, discovering the NWO's cool mafia-style message for WCW in the process. Sting and Savage then gave fine pro-WCW promos in the post-match with Mean Gene (oh, and Luger was there too). Flair vs Booty had a typically worthless performance from Booty, with Flair just being on autopilot mode. Benoit and Mungo interfered to thankfully end this early. NR. The Four Horsemen's beatdown on Booty (due to him being a friend of Hogan) was cathartic. Arn gave a good, serious promo calling out Hogan, while Flair also gave a good promo in his trademark 'unhinged' style. Benoit and Mungo's promos, naturally, were forgettable. The NWO promotional video was entertainingly arrogant and self-absorbed once again. The video cutting out supposedly due to Sting and Luger's request to the backstage crew was a nice touch and made sense considering their feud. Giant vs Pittman was a pointless squash as expected, as if a win over a nobody like Pittman would in any way make anyone more excited to see Giant vs Hogan at Hog Wild. Giant showed decent 'monstrous' seriousness in this post-match promo without getting melodramatic. Luger & Sting vs Nasty Boys was pretty boring. The Nasties dominated with their messy-brawling for far too long, and then Sting and Luger got a very rushed and very basic comeback for the win, with Rick Steiner illegally assisting them after one of the Nasties accidentally attacked him. *3/4. Luger and Sting did well building anticipation with the crowd to check the NWO limo again, finding another note which this time interestingly teased there may even be 5 NWO members instead of just the speculated 4."

[8.0] "Two brilliant promos from Arn and then Macho Man, mostly decent tv matches and a tension with the NWO that still comes across incredibly high even all these years later. Great stuff"

[5.0] "Das war dieses Mal doch ganz schön enttäuschend... für eine go home Show war es für mich hier zu wenig. Mit Savage gegen Regal gab es nur ein überdurchschnittliches Match und die Entwicklung rund um die NWO fand hier nicht so recht statt"

[9.0] "Not only do you have at least two great short TV matches in a row, first Chris Benoit vs. Alex Wright and then Lord Steven Regal vs. Randy Savage, but you also get a blisteringly good promo from Arn Anderson in conjunction with a great angle where Flair destroys Beefcake because of his association to Hogan. The angle with the mysterious limo was also good, and I loved the final warning from the nWo hinting at more members of the group to come soon. Very great set up for Hog Wild."

[5.0] "Jedes Mal wenn der Rock 'n' Roll Express in den 90er Jahren in der WWF oder WCW auftauchtr, denke ich mir wie sehr sie so wirkten, als wären sie aus den 80er Jahren in diese Zeit gefallen. Die Frisuren, die Ring Gear, das Wrestling, man könnte es feiern dass sie sich treu geblieben sind, aber es wirkt wie ein Wrestling Anachronismus weil sie komplett alle Entwicklungen ignoriert hatten. Ein gutes Tag Team, keine Frage, aber stilmäßig nicht mein Fall und eben komplett aus der Zeit gefallen. Jetzt ist die gesamte WCW doch wieder eine große Einheit gegen die nWo, denn sogar die Heels am Ring machen die Security. Madusa gegen Hosaka mit einem kurzen aber guten Match, vermutlich besser als jedes TV-Match was Madusa außerhalb der PPVs im WWF-TV hatte. Die Dame hatte zu der Zeit bereits "oben herum" zugelegt im Vergleich zu ihrer WWF-Zeit, aber da sollte später noch mehr folgen. Benoit, damals "stoff-frei" (man vergleiche nur den Körperbau in den Neunzigern in Europa, ECW und Japan mit dem, wie er hier und nur in seinem zweiten WCW-Run aussah) gegen Wright mit einem ordentlichen Match aber unrühmlichen Finish. Regal gegen Savage passte stilmäßig nicht zusammen, ging aber in Ordnung. Flair gegen den Booty Man war nicht die Rede wert und dann zog die WCW, wie bei der vorherigen NITRO-Ausgaben, bei voller Fahrt die Handbremse an: Rückblicke, Backstage-Segmente, nWo-Skits, alles sehr zäh und langweilig gemacht. Warum man die Shows zum Ende immer so flach enden ließ, wirkt sehr unverständlich weil die Show total aus dem Fluss geraten und das war ohnehin nicht ihre Stärke beim Produzieren von TV-Shows, vor allem im Vergleich zum Konkurrenten. The Giant mit seinem üblichen Match und Promo-technisch auch nichts Neues. Am Ende noch ein kurzes Tag Team Match."

[7.0] "A good show before Hog Wild, it has some exciting angles. Sting and Lex Luger stop the NWO video and then try to find the Outsiders. The in-ring quality is higher than usual but it also has some flops as Randy Savage vs Steven Regal and Madusa vs Hosaka. Great work from the Rock 'n Roll Express and the Harlem Heat."

[5.0] "Harlem Heat verteidigt gleich zu Beginn der Show den Titel dank ihres Doppelmanagements. Die Nasties stehen aufgrund ihrer Nähe zu Hogan unter Generalverdacht, gemeinsame Sache mit der nWo zu machen - dem nehmen sich dann Sting und Luger an. Wie schon drei Wochen zuvor bekommt Madusa es mit Hosaka zu tun - neu an deren Seite wiederum ist Sonny Onoo, welcher auch gleich behilflich ist. Benoit gegen Wright ist schon ziemlich solide, endet jedoch in einer Auseinandersetzung des Horseman mit Malenko, auf den er beim PPV treffen soll. Savage und Regal ist okay, aber nichts besonderes. Die Horsemen scheren sich nicht um das Ergebnis, sondern zerlegen Ed Leslie, woran ich nichts Verwerfliches erkennen kann. Der Rückblick auf die Outsiders-Attacke der Vorwoche fällt äusserst üppig aus. Die folgende nWo-Vignette wird von Luger & Sting direkt im Übertragungswagen gestoppt. Nice. Pittman mit seinen eingesprungenen Headbutts ist 200% lächerlich. Der Giant weiss mittlerweile, wie man ein Match auch am Mic verkauft und ist da bereits wesentlich besser als sein eigentliches Sprachrohr Jimmy Hart. Abschliessend halten sich Luger & Sting gegen die Nasties schadlos, um gestärkt zum PPV zu fahren. Dann endet das Ding irgendwie ziemlich verwirrend. Knapp auf fünf Zähler aufgerundet, denn ich kann hier keine wirklich überragende Hype-Show für Hog Wild erkennen."

[7.0] "Nochmal eine Steigerung zur Vorwoche. Die ganze Geschichte rund um die NWO wird klasse weitergeführt. Das Highlight dieser Ausgabe aber war die Kampfansage von den Horsemen. Die NWO-Vignetten gefallen mir, wie auch schon bei der letzten Ausgabe angesprochen, extrem gut. Ansonsten viele offene Fragen und eine gute Go-Home Show für Hog Wild."

[7.0] "Gute letzte Show vorm PPV. Die Wrestler selbst haben die Sicherheit übernommen. Mehr Matches als in der Vorwoche und es gab auch ordentliches Wrestling zu sehen. Dazu ging die WCW/nWo-Story gut weiter. Auch mit dem Fehlen von Bischoff."

[6.0] "Eine deutliche Steigerung zur Vorwoche, was natürlich für die Go-Home-Show auch vonnöten war. Die Matches gingen von relativ okay (im 4-Punkte-Bereich) bis hin zu mittelmäßig. Aber dafür waren die Promos & das Storytelling rund um die nWo gut. Besonders hervorzuheben ist da klar die Anderson-Promo."
