[5.0] "This episode was fine, but the whole seizing the TBS superstation thing was a huge letdown based on how they built it up. If that hadn't have been the closing segment I probably would have been more into this episode. Anyways, most of the matches were good and the main event was very good, but the rest of the show was an overwhelming meh. [MOTN: Kings of the Black Throne vs. FTR]"

[7.0] "Overall, this weeks episode of Dynamite was mostly great but had a few big negatives. The first 30 minutes felt like everything that is great about AEW a fantastic opening match with 4 great wrestlers advancing multiple stories followed by a superb promo battle between Ospreay (who has gotten really good a promos) and Kyle Fletcher. We then get to the MJF / Adam Cole / Roderick Strong segments which highlight some of the main issues AEW is facing, its just convoluted story which ultimately is falling flat. Roddy vs Archer was actually a fun match but just didnt get enough time and Adam Cole hasnt been put into a good position since returning from injury. Cole should have teamed up with The Kingdom in multi man matches until he is fully comfortable on his ankle rather than having 3 single matches (none of which have been bad, but they are considerably worse than before his injury). Love a Jon Moxley promo and this was no different, although not too much new was said the delivery still felt like it elevated the Death Rider vs AEW story. Britt Vs Penelope was just there. The show gets back on track with Swerve Vs Lio in a very good match followed by a great preview of Swerve Vs Lashley after the match. Another great Julia Hart vignette and then a great main event between KOTBT & FTR. When the show is good, its really good however the bad is just boring - which can be problematic (7/10)"

[6.0] "Christian has the best entrance theme in AEW, and no one is talking about it. What the hell happened to the Strong v Archer match? Why coming back from the commercial break suddenly we find ourselves in the middle of Cole v Takeshita match, with the commentators casually informing us that Roderick beat Lance. Anyway, I'm glad Adam didn't win this one. Are we really going to see Roderick v MJF at Full Gear? Something tells me it won't be that straightforward. Lio Rush is the most stylish wrestler (whatever it means) in AEW: his music, entrance, weird yet unique looking jackets (much better than Seth Rollins' ones, which are just random designer fits), his moveset, his mannerisms in and out of the ring all come together in a distinct way. Every time I see Swerve I want to tell him "Please, pull in your stomach, for Christ's Sake. You're on national TV, after all." Also, it's obvious he's on creatine or something less legal, because his muscles are full of water while lacking any kind of definition whatsoever despite clearly having low percentage of body fat. Orange Cassidy once again exposed his non-existent skills on the microphone. Wheeler saying "I am no one's lackey", only for Claudio to shut him up a few seconds later was low-key a golden comedy moment. Julia Hart video was pretty sick. Really got me excited for her return, and I'm not even a fan of hers. As for the main event, it was actually great. I loved the finish, and the fact that The House of Black won, was the cherry on top."

[6.0] "This was very average episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite. I was excited because there were some good matches on the show but some just didn't delivered like the Falls Count Anywhere Match, Konosuke Takeshita vs. Adam Cole really didn't do anything for me. But the Swerve Strickland vs. Lio Rush Match was very solid it was nice to see the spotlight on Lio Rush as he's very underrated in general in the ring, and on the microphone. Britt Baker came back and put on a stinker then afterwards Serena came out to indicate who Britt Baker next feud is. I really would like Jamie Hayter to get time on TV and take Britt Baker DMD spot. The main event was the best match of the night very surprised that FTR lost but glad that The House of Black are getting a solid opportunity as a tag unit. But all - around it was a very average & mediocre episode of Dynamite."

[6.0] "I want to say great things about the episode (because there are many), as most of the storylines and the booking making sense, which was sorely missed, but I am really soured by the treatment given to the women's division. Britt should have been kept off-screen since the Wembley stinker and they should have no problem with giving women's matches 50% of the time because the talent is overflowing. Even if I can't ignore that, the main event was great, as well as the match before."

[5.0] "Okay in parts and not so interesting in others. The biggest issue for me right now is that I only really care about one match on the PPV (Ospreay vs Fletcher) because it's almost guaranteed to be decent so long as they don't overdo it. The Fletcher/Ospreay confrontation seems to be getting mixed responses on here but I thought it was pretty good. The Moxley/Cassidy angle right now has so many people fighting in and around it. It should be exciting but it's far less engaging and intense than a heated singles fued, like Hangman vs Swerve. We've got all of this talk about Moxley and co. taking over (whatever that means), of AEW itself needing to fight to survive, and it'll all be decided by what feels like a pretty regular wrestling match. The PPV will have plenty of those. I don't feel like Cassidy wants Moxley's head for hurting Chuck or that he wants to do anything other than just wrestle and beat Moxley. I think I'm in "Let's just get this one out of the way" mode when it comes to current stories and the PPV."

[7.0] "A mostly fine show. A fun opener, a great main event, and a very entertaining match between Lio Rush and Swerve Strickland. Some good interview/backstage segments with Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron, and one later with Jamie Hayter interrupted by a Julia Hart vignette. I'd have liked this show a lot more if the Penelope Ford match had Baker replaced with literally any other person (not Mercedes) in the women's division. It's closer to a 6.5 than a six or seven. I'm happy to round up."

[8.0] "Rollercoaster episode of Dynamite. Great start to the episode with Page & Cage defeating the Bang Bang Gang. Predictable finish, but completely on board with how it was executed. Page, Father Cage and Jay White are three of the best on the AEW roster. Next we get a great face to face encounter between two more of the best in AEW, Will Ospreay & Kyle Fletcher. It spilled into the next match, and here we go with booking. You are trying to build Archer and Brian Cage into this monster tag team, and Archer loses to scrawny Roddy Strong? Roddy gifted two consecutive wins. Not a fan of booking these lightweight 2009 ROH stars into prominent roles. Takeshita knocks out Adam Cole in their match (applause), then we get DMD and Penelope Ford, which was terrific. Two enjoyable backstage encounters: Kris Stat gets physical with Kamille and Mone, and Harley and Mina with a hilarious promo. Really not interested in the Learning Tree storyline, nor Mox vs. OC. Solid match between Swerve and Lio Rush, and awesome main event between FTR & HOB."

[4.0] "AEW has probably the most stacked roster in the history of professional wrestling, so it's easy for them to put on amazing Pay-Per-Views everytime. However it's obvious how much the company struggles to follow-up on these PPVs due to underwhelming week-to-week storytelling. The talent is obviously there but the stories are just not rewarding to watch. For example, Mone vs. Statlander could be an all-timer for the women's division but it's build has been so bad, I don't care about it. Lots of matches on the show had star power but due to a lack of stories or terrible stories, noone of them delivered as they really could've. The opening tag match was fine. The pairing of Hangman and Christian was a little odd. OspreayFletcher promo was terrible. Just no emotions in those men's voices and eyes. Strong vs. Archer had potential to be great but was cut short to give Adam Cole more time. Cole vs. Takeshita was fine, probably Cole's best showing since coming back but far from the greatness we were used to. Death Riders/OC segment was pretty bad actually. The crowd wasn't reacting to their lines which made everything weaker and Mox's promo was pretty weak too. Ford vs. Baker was bad. Baker just ain't it, man. Swerve vs. Lio was solid. HOB vs. FTR was a really fun main event, only thing worth watching on the show. Best match of the night. Overall: outside of the main event, everything was either bad or average at best. The promos were bad, Ospreay's one in particular and nothing stood out in terms of in-ring action. The women's division is non-existent with Britt even saying "Nobody cares" when Serena Debb showed up after her match. All the main stories didn't progress well. The crowd was absolutely dead the whole time and actively ruined Swerve/Bobby angle. But that's what happens when you don't make people interested. Anyway they should never go here again."

[4.0] "An early 2020's episode of Smackdown if it wasn't that bad. Some really fun promos and vignettes throughout the night to continue a bunch of stuff that I honestly couldn't care less for. Matches were almost exactly what you'd expect from them. Swerve/Lio and FTR/Kings were both really good, Strong/Archer should've been very good but was cut short to facilitate Adam Cole once again hogging a spotlight he has no right to be in. He single-handedly ends Takeshita's flawless run of matches. Opener was whatever, ends in boring heel interference just like every other important match. Sound like 2020s WWE yet?"

[8.0] "Dynamite was a very good show, I thought the first like 70 minutes in particular were brilliant. Starting off with a match was good and true to the AEW soul, the Ospreay/Fletcher promo was VERY good, I miss when two guys who're over would just stand LIVE in the ring and trade words, seems like this doesn't really happen in AEW anymore so that was a welcome development. Now comes my favorite part of the show where The Ospreay/Fletcher promo let to Roderick Strong vs Lance Archer starting and the subsequent beatdown post match led to Adam Cole vs Takeshita (the theme that kept on going was good stuff) which then also led to Ricochet taking out Takeshita and the tease of Undisputed Era reunion. 3/4 segments flawlessly knit together is better than them in 3 rigid separate blocks. I however did not love Takeshita cheating to beat Cole but I am still glad he went over. The Britt match was not good and I legit don't think anyone ever wanted to see a Serena Deeb match so I don't know what we're doing here. The Swerve/Lio match was very good highlighting Rush while still making it clear that Swerve is levels ahead. The post match was good too. The main event ruled and I have no notes on it, just good stuff with the right winners. HOB seem to be getting more focus as of late, now please give me a proper Brody singles run. Speaking of HOB, Julia Hart's vignette was really good and the idea of her and Jamie locking up is very promising, could even outshine all current women's feuds. One final note, they have to tone it down with the Mox graphics or at least have him match its energy, like for example Mox seizes the super station had to at least have had him take over commentary or something. Al in all though, a good show that progressed some Full Gear stuff well and even set the table for some Dynamite/Collision matches. PS: the crowd SUCKED"

[7.0] "Solid show with for me a couple of bold booking decisions. It comes off as a big surprise that Adam Cole failed in his quest to get a PPV match with MJF (Roderick Strong has the match instead), but he shouldn't be beating Konosuke Takeshita right now. And I was stunned that FTR lost to the Kings of the Black Throne, especially as it initially looked like Malakai Black was leaving - to be fair, he was very quick in getting that talk shut down. Hopefully that leads to FTR's slow burn heel turn. The rest furthered the build to Full Gear, although I'm not crazy about Britt Baker very visibly blowing off a challenge by Serena Deeb."

[3.0] "I hope TK reads this because this was a total lost in the woods episode of dynamite. If this company didnt have banger PPVs every darn time, I would be totally checked out of this episode. We start with a listless house show style match with lots of star power but little intrigue. We have a brutal exposition promo by Will and Kyle. No emotion, exchanging their lines with zero feeling, who produced this? Orange is fighting for the life of the company and hes kinda half assed-edly talking about how hes going to out wrestle mox. The crowd is dead most of the time for this stuff. You can tell the fans could care less about this episode because its 9am the next day and there arent even reviews up on cagematch. I am a massive AEW fan and this was a huge letdown of a show. I know the PPV will have awesome wrestling on it and thats AEWs loadstone, but the tv doesnt make me care much about that awesome wrestling. Only bright spot was the Swerve/Lio match and the Harley promo. Harley feels like the only one who has passion."

"Going in depth for this review. We open and go straight into the tag match between Bang Bang Gang and Christian/Page. There was a whole lot of interesting history and dynamics between these 4 men, especially between Christian and Page. Nick Wayne was about to get involved, but then HOOK came out and stole him away which allowed BBG to get the advantage for a bit. It sort of fell apart a bit by the end due to Martha Wayne an Sabian getting involved, allowing Page to get the victory by pinning Juice. I thought it was a good opener, but didn't get into great territory. We go to a backstage segment with Mercedes Mone asking about her Full Gear match against Kris Statlander. It was whatever, and just really makes me hate the storyline where Mercedes seem to all of a sudden turn nasty and mean to Kamille. It's lazy and annoying. And then Kris Statlander came out of nowhere and got into a brawl with Mercedes, leading to Kris spearing both women through some dry wall. But then the show moved on so quickly you don't even have time to process the brawl before we'ree going to something else. Next up we get a in ring promo from Will Ospreay. It was just him calling out Kyle Fletcher. They just talked about their history together and tried to build their match. I thought this was a weak promo performance from Ospreay. There were multiple points where Fletcher explained the reasons for his actions, leading to Ospreay going "yeah but why? " It was frustrating and like Ospreay either wasn't listening or he had a scripted promo while Fletcher didn't. It just felt clunky and weird. Then it lead to a large brawl between the Callis Family and Ospreay/Davis/Hobbs. This then lead straight into the next match, which was Lance Archer vs Roderick Strong, which apparently is falls count anywhere which I don't remember EVER being mentioned before. It was long and a little boring with Brian Cage and The Kingdom getting involved. Roderick won his match in a really sudden and quick way that felt a little flat. Not a super impressive match. Strong cuts a super short promo saying he's going to beat MJF, then gets jumped and attacked by Konosuke Takeshita, leading straight into the next match against Adam Cole. I am not somebody who normally cares too much about wrestler physique, just as long as they put on good performances...but Adam Cole just looks so rough. No muscle and his spray tan is ridiculous. And the match started with Cole's music playing for a bit just so he can do his taunts for the crowd, which felt goofy. Takeshita dominated and is a champion, so him winning would've made sense. But Cole makes his come back after getting mostly brutalized, then was about to win until Takeshita had to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring to win, which is ridiculous and doesn't make Takeshita look good or legitimate. Strong comes out and brawls with Takeshita for a bit, but then Kyle O'Reilly came out to make the save which was super intriguing and interesting fun. We then get a brawl between Ricochet and Takeshita on the stage, letting Ricochet pose with the belt. We get a few seconds of Strong, O'Reilly, and Cole together before Kyle refuses a handshake (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if he just made the save) The Hurt Syndicate get interviewed backstage. It was just MVP basically cutting a promo. We then get the BCC beating up JD Drake so Moxley can come to the ring and "take over the superstation" It was just so Moxley could cut another promo against Orange Cassidy. It wasn't special or unique or new. Just the same old same old, which lead to Darby Allin diving from the crowd and a big brawl between Conglomeration and BCC. Claudio DESTROYED Darby which was awesome, but that was really the only cool part. BCC left, which makes them look like cowards. Backstage interview with The Learning Tree was next, and I find them entertaining but overexposed. Jericho revealed history with Ishii and said he was going to beat him. That's really it. Next we had Britt Baker vs Penelope Ford in a heatless and very boring match. Some sloppy moments and very soft looking offense is the best way to describe it. The finish was pretty good, but Baker won and it was just whatever. Went on way too long for a match like this. The Serena Deeb comes out and has a staredown with Baker. Then Renee interviews the returning Mina Shirakawa backstage, which was just to say she'll be on Collision before getting interrupted by Harley Cameron to announce they have a match by shaking their tits around. That's not even a joke. Next we had Strickland vs Lio Rush, which started off very good as it was obvious the two knew eachother. Strickland was smart and knew how to counter Rush's speed. Some really good action that played off of their history and showed Rush having some more aggression. I honestly want to see in Lio in the Hurt Syndicate. Would do wonders for him. They had a great match full of great moments and made Rush look like a main eventer, but Strickland won pretty easily. Strickland cuts a promo after, calling out Lashley and wanting a fight. MVP cut a promo while Lashley got ready to fight, but it lead to a beatdown with Benjamin blindsiding Swerve. Jamie Hayter interview backstage gets interrupted by a super well done Julia Hart video hinting at her return. This stuff has been super amazing and well done. Finally, the main event between FTR and HOB. They are two amazing teams and they put on a really good match, but I feel like it could've been great. It wasn't quite there just yet. The House of Black winning was the PERFECT choice and made me so happy. Honestly, made the match a whole lot better having them win. Overall a very mixed show that did flow in and out of segments super well, but the in ring quality was all over the place. Built to Full Gear well enough."
