1 | 08.11.2024 | NatsupoisBaton | 6.0 | Sukeban is a bit of an odd one for me - they have some incredible talent (Sareee, Konami, Veny etc) but everything seems to be played for laughs. This could be because around 90% of the crowd wouldn't know the difference between a wristlock and a wristwatch! The Sukeban London crowd was mainly made up of individuals from the 'fashion scene', therefore they spend most of the time laughing during the matches as Pro Wrestling is completely alien to them (the comical sound effects added by the MC team during striking exchanges didn't help, and was a baffling choice). Despite all this, and once you realise this isn't your usual wrestling show, it was enjoyable! The workers are clearly getting paid well to travel the world, wear fancy clothes, and wrestle the most basic style imaginable, so more power to them! Will be interesting to see how this progresses as it seems like nothing more that a very expensive vanity project. 7/10 |
