[6.0] "A middling to decent enough show, with nothing to write home about while still being enjoyably watchable. The highlight of the night was cutaways to venerable wrestlers like Bruno Sammartino talking about how serious, athletic, and technical WCW was in comparison to the unspecified competition (WWF), interspersed with commercials featuring Madusa in bondage gear visiting an underground bar run by a pirate dwarf and a crowd of extras dressed like bums chanting "Spin the wheel, make the deal! " The full promo shown at the end had Sting and Jake Roberts comically debating while the onlookers "ooooooh! "ed looking back and forth, with the wrestlers shooting lasers out of their eyes at each other to end the bit. Wildly mixed messages and in hindsight it was even more ironic that less than two years later the ultimate cartoon wrestler Hulk Hogan would be there doing his usual bit."

[7.0] "Wasn't expecting this to be one of the better Clashes in recent months, but here we are. The show had a lot going for it, even if the talking segments and promo packages dragged a bit at times. The matches largely delivered, and the smaller venue added a vintage territory vibe that worked in its favor. The opener stole the show - Austin and Steamboat put on an absolute clinic, and the title change felt memorable and well-earned. Arn & Bobby vs Slater & Valentine was decent, though a bit underwhelming, but things picked up again with a very good Simmons vs Cactus match, followed by another strong outing in Butch & Barbarian vs Windham & Rhodes. The main event brought the star power, with WCW's top babyfaces and heels colliding in front of an engaged crowd, capped off with a clever finish. A quality show from top to bottom and a fitting tribute to the legends."

[7.0] "You wouldn't guess it from the current ratings that these matches have, but this is actually a really fun show. The matches are all quick, physical, and energetic. I really enjoy this style of wrestling - it's not always pretty, but it feels credible and impactful. They may not have always used everybody perfectly, but WCW had quietly assembled a pretty solid roster by this point. I also enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the event, as this show was designed to celebrate 20 years of TBS, and they went to a decent amount of effort to make it feel like a special occasion. You're not going to find any MOTY contenders here, but the show was an absolute breeze to watch, and I definitely enjoyed my time with this one."

[8.0] "I thought this was a great Clash, continuing a stretch of in my opinion really good Clashes. This one was a celebration of 20 years of wrestling on TBS, and a whole host of legends showed up; including the last US televised appearance of Andre the Giant. The best thing on this show was the opening match for the TV Title between Ricky Steamboat and Steve Austin. The weakest part of this show was the stupid Halloween Havoc ads with the "Spin the wheel, make the deal" slogan. The set up for Jake Roberts vs Sting was actually better than I expected it to be on this show. My least favourite match was personally Eaton & Anderson vs Valentine & Slater. Ron Simmons also defended his title here after just recently becoming the World Champion."

[6.0] "This clash was good, but it was weird to have it in Center Stage, where they typically filmed Saturday Night. The best part were the flashbacks to the past of the NWA/WCW. This was all leading up to Halloween Havoc the next month. I've seen better shows, but I've also seen worse."

[8.0] "A really enjoyable Clash with at least three matches worth going out of one's way to see. Steamboat vs. Austin for the TV Title is - perhaps unsurprisingly - the match of the night, but the Simmons-Foley World Title match is a solid hard-hitting affair (marred just a bit by Ole's underwhelming ref work), and the main event is quite a fun Survivor Series-style elimination tag that helps set up the Sting-Roberts Halloween Havoc showdown. We also get a couple of decent tag bouts - two of the best tag specialists of their (and, arguably, any) era in Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton link up for a short but solid match vs. Slater and Valentine, and we see Foley setting up what could've been an interesting stable (that unfortunately didn't really go anywhere) with his team of Barbarian and Reed facing Windham & Dustin. Since this also celebrated the 20th anniversary of wrestling on TBS, we also get some good archival clips bookending the commercial breaks. As Clashes go this is one of the top-shelf entries."

[6.0] "This Clash has a very different vibe to it. It feels different with all the cameos from the returning legends, as well as the multiple throwback clips being shown throughout the night. In terms of matches, Austin vs. Steamboat is the best of the bunch."

[6.0] "WCW PPV's had a long history of being complete ass in the long run, but the Clash Of Champions shows were some of the best, even better than SNME shows."

[7.0] "In this era I tend to prefer the Clashes over the PPVs as the tighter timings means everything moves at a pace. After the dirge of the Bash this was great fun with a mix of different match styles. The final two matches were not up to the start of the card. You also get the added bonus of archive footage of a bunch of people who were by then working for Vince and some classic WCW typos on match graphics. They also throw in some footage of Chono vs Rude from Sumo Hall. A nice easy watch."

[7.0] "A pretty easy show to watch. Some nice tributes to the legends of the past, with a few nice cameos from them. Most matches were solid, with the main event and the opener both being good matches."

[7.0] "This anniversary event features many flashbacks with wrestlers of the past, most of them were already in WWF, so they were pushing stars in the rival promotion. There are three good Wrestling matches, Austin vs Steamboat, Simmons vs Cactus Jack and a 4 vs 4 Elimination match as the main event. Jake Roberts was the biggest new star of WCW."

[9.0] "One of my favorite events. The only weak spot for me was Butch Reed and The Barbarian vs. Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes, and even that was watchable thanks to Windham and Rhodes being good workers. Still, it's hard to find many faults in a show that features Ricky Steamboat, a young Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Beautiful Bobby, Cactus Jack, Vader, Rude, Sting, and The Steiners. Great event."
