[3.0] "I was not a fan of this episode at all. The only thing I liked was the angle involving Pillman, Anderson, and Sullivan. Even then, WCW did their best to negate it as Flair and the Giant were working together just fine with no tension between them during their attack on Savage that closed out the show. Flair's antics at the end were pretty funny admittedly, but they couldn't save this episode from feeling like complete filler. The matches were also uninteresting. The opening bout between Hogan and Flair was bad; it was Hogan doing his beyond played-out shtick. Thankfully, he finally did a job even if it came after much fuckery. Oh well, it is always good to watch him lose regardless. His babyface persona is egregiously obnoxious by this point; and to make matters worse he is all over the shows so there is no avoiding it. The second match fine; it did its job in reintroducing The Road Warriors. I did think the heat segment by Meng and the Barbarian dragged on for too long though. The less said about the women's bout the better. It is funny to think Madusa made waves by throwing the WWF Women's Title in the trash only to end up debasing herself in these pathetic catfight segments. Women's wrestling in the USA was really dire at this point in time and this segment is good example of why. Overall, a bad show that did little to interest me in the upcoming SuperBrawl PPV."

[6.0] "This show had a strong return match for the Road Warriors and while I do think they've kinda run into a creative wall when it comes to the Hogan booking, Flair does get a win over him on this show and the WCW commentators continue to blow smoke up Hogan's ass by telling us that Ric Flair has become an elite wrestler by beating Hogan with excessive interference, but not because of the 12 World Titles he already won. Embarrassing! Hogan gets a big injury angle after that, but still gets an obnoxious save moment looking like a damn war victim when Savage gets attacked by The Giant and Flair. This Four Horseman/Dungeon of Doom alliance is just terrible and it's all over the show where the only interesting segment was the infighting with AA, Pillman and Sullivan. The show is watchable overall, but the Hogan vs Dungeon of Doom stuff is completely overkill!"

[5.0] "Another random episode of Nitro. It's totally forgettable. The opener is OK but there's nothing interesting to see except that Hogan gets a "bad eye" after the shot Flair gave to him with Elizabeth's shoe. The tag match is decent for the Road Warriors' return. The two other "matches" have absolutely no competitive aspect. You simply can't have competitive action with matches going under 5 minutes. Story-telling wise, the main event segment is Hogan helping Savage against the DoD by destroying it even though he has a "bad eye". So the only thing interesting is totally washed away by the segment. Overall, Nitro's first months are just "masturbatory Hogan shows" revolving around an awful feud."

[7.0] "Until the final two minutes of this show, this was perhaps my favourite episode of Nitro yet, and may still be. Too much focus is given to the fact that the main event was a non-match, but this, along with a quick brawl from the women, meant they could give time and attention to two television matches that may not otherwise have been as good. The opener between Flair and Hogan was fantastic, the tag match was a white-knuckle ride fitting for an LoD debut, and the women's match was mercifully short and not bad for what it was, although it was surprising to me that Sherri went over considering the manner in which Medusa arrived in WCW, something I would have thought would have been rewarded. However, the ending segment is just too chaotic for me to give this match the mark I had originally planned on, and not chaotic in a good way, so it loses one point for that."

[6.0] "The episode is a funny ride through weird moments and stuff, I understand why the ratings are so different for a single episode. Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair is really enjoyable as an opener, Savage vs The Giant is a terrible idea of a 30 seconds match and another Hogan involvement. The Women's match is a brawl, the tag team match is okay. It's not the common 'in the middle episode', it tries to be something different but it's too chaotic."
