[7.0] "The Four Horseman look brutal in the way they take out Paul Orndorff with the spike piledriver after he confronts Brian Pillman for his comments, and the crowd was still noticeably on their side even after that big heat moment because they was up against the hated Hogan and Sting in the main event, which was a good match. The main storyline is Flair picking the bones out of the babyface trio of Hogan, Sting and Savage still at odds with each other which was smart booking going into Starrcade. There was a decent, but short Eddie vs JL match in there as well."

[7.0] "Decent Nitro, bette than the last episode for sure. Orndorff getting written off is interesting and the main event was pretty good."

[4.0] "The four horseman isn't going to make The Dungeon of Doom any better please stop. Eddie Guerrero vs Mr. JL was sloppy but respectable, this is the last time we'll see Paul Orndorf for a long time and it's sad it was against Disco. Jim Duggan vs Lugar was bad but thankfully the tag match was good to make up for it, just no more Dungeon please."

[3.0] "Only 1 match here actually got a decent amount of time, and it still didn't end up being too good of a match. I was prepared to give this show about a 2/10 because of how mediocre and at times outright bad and/or pointless the overall wrestling was, but the ending segment won me over a slight bit to rate this a nudge higher. Eddie vs Mr JL had a bunch of low-level but still fun high-flying exchanges. This could have been quite a fun opener if given a decent amount of time, but it was ultimately too short to rate. NR. Luger's promo had a few awkward flubs but was otherwise fine. Orndorff vs Inferno was a really basic punch-and-kick brawl. Pretty pointless. Neither gained anything from this. Too short, NR. The Flair, Pillman, and Ordnorff interview segment had good energy and ended with a fine beatdown angle. Duggan vs Luger was another short and worthless match. Duggan's constant "HOOOOO" calls and general buffoonery was very cringe, and he had zero wrestling skills to make up for it. Luger's non-stop "yell-selling" was annoying, and his offence wasn't much better than Duggan's. NR. Savage's interview with Gene was fine -- just him doing his usual over-the-top, hyped-up schtick. Flair & Arn vs Sting & Hogan was fine whenever it was the first 3 in the ring, but it was hokey and very low effort whenever Hogan was in control. His forced fire-ups and no-sells were awful. It was very enjoyable seeing the crowd boo the hell out of him though. Sting admittedly did the same no-sells but not to such a self-indulgent extent, plus his offence was far more energetic and his Flair doing all his signature spots in front of his (kayfabe) hometown fans was fun, and Arn was really snug with everything he did. Probably a decent match without Hogan. **1/4. The post-match angle was honestly the best part of the show. The scuffle with Pillman vs Sting/Hogan and Sting vs Savage was fun, but more importantly I quite enjoyed the continued storytelling of tensions boiling over in Sting's relationships with both Hogan and Savage. This was not only due to Sting's friendship with outright heel Luger, but also his questionable actions the prior week with Hogan plus him hitting Savage moments before. Sting eloquently laid out believable explanations for those actions, and it was great and very surprising to see that attention to nuance as opposed to just granting Sting an easy heel turn based on totally moronic misunderstandings between the stars, which WCW easily could have gone for. Instead, Sting looked like a sympathetic victim of circumstance, but those various actions meant that there were still enough questions about Sting's real loyalties to creation engaging speculation about his direction. Good finish to an otherwise pretty bad show."

[6.0] "The match between Eddie Guerrero and Mr. JL was underwhelming for me, simply not given enough time, and not enough was done to compensate for this fact beyond a couple of nice moves. Some nice storytelling between the matches but Disco Inferno/Paul Orndorff was a write-off despite a promising start, and Duggan's bout with Luger seemed a little meritless. The main event was great and, when taken as a whole episode, resulted in a pretty enjoyable Nitro."

[9.0] "Ah, a great Nitro! Ok, the Duggan match wasn't too good, but overall this was a great one. Opener was very enjoyable, the Pillman promo was great as was the attack on Paul Orndorff, and the main event was great, both for the pro-Horsemen crowd and for the great storytelling on display. Ahhhh, I love Nitro in this era!"

[6.0] "Mediocre episode with a very good main event. There are some cool promos and some useless matches. Unfortunately wasn't very impressed with Lynn vs Guerrero. As I wrote before tag team match is very entertaining. It's cool to hear fans chanting for heel Flair. Somehow Sting/Luger friendship storyline didn't become very annoying for me."

[6.0] "A common episode for Nitro, a couple of short and uninspiring matches, a really good one between Eddie Guerrero and Jerry Lynn, and a solid tag team main event where the fans are against Hulk Hogan, but support Sting. It's a long episode and there are some promos and confrontations, it moves forward the main stories for Starrcade."
