[8.0] "I had seen many many of the people on this show wrestle before, but this was my first time ever watching a GLEAT show. The production was pretty good (aside from audio cutting for me a few times), and the matches were all good to fine. Some great talent going against each other in really good performances. The opening match was a whole lot of fun and introduced me to a whole lot of people I had never even heard of before, but will check out because everyone here really showed up and did everything they could to put on a great performance. Star of the match for me would have to be Joe Lando or Shuji Ishikawa. The following tag match had me very curious. The only person I was familiar with was Minoru Tanaka, and the match started off with a pre match attack which should usually make it more intense and high drama. But the match itself was rather comedic. I don't have issue with comedy wrestling, but I do get a little annoyed if the comedy detracts from the action. When they were actually wrestling and doing stuff it was really good, but then it would just stop and the audience would laugh at the ridiculous stuff that was being done. The next tag match was really good. Octagon Jr was so so impressive and amazing in the ring. I instantly became a big fan of his from this one match. All of the other talent were really good as well, and I will check out more of their stuff when I can. A really really fun and exciting match. Next was a 6-man tag match full of people I had never heard of (except for T-Hawk) and I had no idea how this match was going to go. It started off with another attack and brawl into a very competitive and fun bout. The ending was pretty good, even if the powerbomb did scare me a bit with how they landed. A really good match. Next was another 6-man with a lot of people I didn't know. The entrances and ring introductions alone were enough to make me realize it would be another comedy match. It wasn't as egregious as the previous one, but it still took me out at points. The match was short and not all that impressive for me. It was just sort of...there. Next was the G-Infinity title match. It was nice for the old veterans CIMA and Hayashi to put over the much younger guys, and shows me that GLEAT is at the very least somewhat interested in building stars for their future. This was also my first time watching a Hayashi match post WCW, so I was amazed with how good he still is after all these years. It was a shame to learn that this was his retirement match though, so best of luck to him and his retired life. There was also a lot of creative moments, with the chair spot on CIMA being something I genuinely loved and thought was so good. And of course, having a retirement match go all chaotic and crazy with people running in was a whole lot of fun. Afterwards was the G-REX Championship. As somebody who doesn't routinely watch GLEAT or know how it works, this seems to be their main title (I think) and it seems like it has a good history. This match was very entertaining and competitive. I was a big fan of the big man spots and the wild brawling and stiff strikes. A very good match for a title belt that instantly made it feel important. A very very fun and hard hitting match that I loved. The 5 minute exhibition for Kota Ibushi was...well...a 5 minute exhibition. They don't have time to do much of anything, and I honestly don't even understand why these types of "matches" even exist. Up next was UWF rules with Josh Barnett vs Yu Iizuka. Now I don't watch any form of MMA or Boxing, but anything that tries to mix either of those things with pro wrestling is not something I have ever enjoyed. I guess it has its place, but I don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy other matches. This one ws effective and pretty alright, but was really short. Another UWF rules match up that went a lot longer and was better, but still just blah. The main event though. I was beyond hyped because I love Nakajima. And the actual match was realistic and believable in a MMA sense, which just bored me because it was slow and methodical. I mean I get it, but it's just not my favorite thing despite the fact I tend to love slow and methodical matches. Overall, as the first GLEAT show I have ever watched, it was a really good and enjoyable show. I will definitely watch more of their stuff and become a fan."

[6.0] "GLEAT's 1. Juli ist von Großveranstaltungen geprägt und so auch in diesem Jahr, gleichzeitig aber leider kein Garant einer wirklich guten Show und so auch 2024. Das glich einmal mehr einer eher austauschbaren Show, gezwungenermaßen gesehen haben muss man davon nämlich nicht. Für mich gänzlich skipbar gewesen sind der Opener, Minoru Tanaka's Verschwendung im darauffolgenden Match und Ryuichi Kawakami's Abschiedskampf, *3/4 im Fall vom Opener bzw. *1/2 je. Joe Lando fast vom Hals ab gelähmt, wonach man sich als Zuschauer durchaus hat unwohl fühlen dürfen, Kazuyuki Fujita & Kendo Kashin infiltrieren GLEAT von innen andernorts, als finaler Auftritt als Teil GLEAT's aktivem Roster furchtbar anzuschauen, immerhin hat TOKYO GO an diesem Nachmittag Sendepause gehabt, so zumindest kein kompletter Bruch im ersten Viertel. Im dritten und anschließenden vierten Viertel kamen dem Kota Ibushi's Exhibition Match und der UWF Division Semi Main Event gleich, **1/4 um den Dreh womöglich bzw. *1/2 im Fall von Aoki vs. Lindaman. Ibushi scheint sich ein klein wenig erholt zu haben, Daisuke Sekimoto dahingehend natürlich aber auch ein dankbarer Tanzpartner, zum Glück aber ein Exhibition Match und kein UWF-Kampf, in einem solchen hat man El Lindaman nämlich komplett verschwendet. Yu Iizuka hat sich zuvor noch von Josh Barnett wegrüpeln lassen, was eher einem Exhibition Match glich, wohingegen BGI vs. Strong Hearts noch immer ausgeglichen daher kam und sich seiner Aufgaben bewusst schien, **1/2 im Fall vom Trios Match bzw. **1/4 um den Dreh. Zwischendurch jedoch hat man's in mehreren Fällen gebacken bekommen, so bestritt Octagon Jr. einen zufriedenstellenden Debütkampf und Kaz Hayashi griff in seinem Retirement Match nochmal nach ganz oben; ein geglückter Einschnitt der Midcard, *** bzw. ***1/2 im Fall Hayashi's letzter Kür bei ansteigender Tendenz je. Für mich zu besten Rücktrittskämpfen überhaupt zu zählen, ein bockstarker Titelkampf und das trotz überladenem Mittelpart. Inmitten dessen ansiedeln taten sich der G-REX Titelkampf und allumfassender Main Event in Form vom LIDET UWF Titelkampf, ***1/4 bei absteigender Tendenz bzw. *** im Fall von Ito vs. Nakajima. Nach dem Prelude beim vergangenen DDT-Event ließ Hayato Tamura's Titelverteidigung doch zu wünschen übrig, Yuki Iino ist Pheromones-geschädigt und wird einer solchen Duftnote nicht so schnell entkommen. Katsuhiko Nakajima ist da sein eigener Erzfeind in den Augen vieler, für mich ist er lediglich ein zumeist erstklassiger Wrestler und so auch im abschließenden Hauptkampf, das tat vor allem dem UWF-Teil nochmal ordentlich den Allerwertesten retten und dementsprechend gut klatschen. Nakajima ein fantastischer Drecksack und Takanori Ito ein guter Gegenpart dazu, ***."

[7.0] "Kaji Tomato, Riki Aitaka, Tyson Maeguchi, Yukimitsu Takahashi & Yumehito Imanari vs. Joe Lando, Junjie, Jun Tonsho, MICHIKO & Shuji Ishikawa ist ein gutes solides Match **3/4. Kazuki Hirata & Minoru Tanaka vs. Issei Onitsuka & Yusuke Kodama ist ein gutes solides sehr kurzes Match **1/2. Octagon Jr. & Soma Watanabe vs. SBK & TAKUMA ist ein ganz cooles Match zwischen vier jungen Leuten mit guten Spots ***1/4. Hartley Jackson, Kotaro Suzuki & So Daimonji vs. Seiki Yoshioka, T-Hawk & Takehiro Yamamura ist ein recht gutes kurzes Match ***. Gamerasu, Kazuyuki Fujita & Kendo Kashin vs. KAZMA SAKAMOTO, Quiet Storm & Ryuichi Kawakami ist ein gutes solides Match **1/2. CIMA & Kaz Hayashi vs. Kaito Ishida & Tetsuya Izuchi ist ein gutes Match und ein guter Abschluss für Kaz ***1/2. Hayato Tamura vs. Yuki Ino finde ich ist ein großartiges Match. Die beiden hauen sich hier richtig derbe was um die Ohren und das macht mir sehr viel Spaß ****1/4. Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Kota Ibushi ist für mich schon ein bisschen mehr als ein Exhibition Match von der Intensität her, hat mir die fünf Minuten wirklich Spaß gemacht ***. Josh Barnett besiegt Yu Iizuka sehr schnell, aber das war auch in Ordnung ***. El Lindaman vs. Shinya Aoki ist ein ordentliches technisches Match, aber das war jetzt nichts besonderes ***. Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Takanori Ito ist ein richtig gutes hartes Match ***3/4."

[6.0] "Nothing on this show is transcendentally great but it was pretty decent with nothing being particularly bad either. It's a fairly middle-of-the-road show that was carried by the novelty of seeing Ibushi again and witnessing Nakajima's debut match in GLEAT. Ibushi's match was obviously designed around his limitations and it was fine for what it was but it doesn't reassure me that he's ever going to be able to go 100% again. At the very least, it wasn't a total disaster like his previous infamous match with Marufuji. The main event is pretty solid but not remarkably great. I also enjoyed Josh Barnett's match but it's pretty brief."

[7.0] "Das ist tatsächlich die erste 2024er GLEAT Show, die ich mir ansehe, da mich die letzten Cards nicht überzeugt haben. Hier habe ich vor allem wegen Kaz Hayashis Retirement eingeschaltet aber es gab auch ein paar andere Dinge, die mir gefallen haben und ansatzweise wurden sogar sowas wie Emotionen hervorgerufen. Im Opener steht Joe Lando, den ich vor kurzem noch bei der GWF gesehen habe und er holt sogar den Pin. War okay. SBK und TAMURA kommen einfach mit Steel Panther als Theme heraus, was irgendwie weird aber coll ist und generell ging die Undercard gut weg. Das erste bedeutsame Match war dann gleichzeitig auch das Retirement Match von Kaz Hayashi, welches mir gut gefallen hat. Hayashi konnte nochmal alle seine Trademarks zeigen und wurde ein letztes Mal ins Rampenlicht gestellt, allerdings nur mit ganz kleiner Zeremonie am Ende. Hayato Tamura vs.Yuki Ino war anfangs richtig gut, als beide einfach mehrfach ineinander rennen, danach flacht es etwas ab aber in den letzten 5 Minuten finden sie das Gaspedal wieder. Fand ich ordentlich. Das Exhibition Match von Kota Ibushi war "interessant". Schön, dass es ihm körperlich wieder besser geht und er nimmt natürlich direkt Bumps auf den Nacken aber ich finde dennoch, dass er allgemein nicht gut aussieht. Gesicht aufgedunsen, langsame Bewegungen und genau 2 Gesichtsausdrücke. Mal sehen, wie sehr er sich wieder aufrappeln kann. Barnett vs. Iizuka war ganz nett, allerdings hat mir Lindaman vs. Aoki nicht so gut gefallen. Der Main Event mit Katsuhiko Nakajima auch "interessant" und als Match sgoar ganz gut, da auch Ito einiges zeigen durfte."
