[7.0] "Apart from the (naturally) filler matches, this is a fantastic edition of Sunday Night Heat. Every feud is covered and promoted in various ways, from good promo packages, to interviews and backstage brawls. The pace is frantic, while the ending is awesome beyond words."

[6.0] "This was an okay episode of Heat as a pre-show hype for the Survivor Series, where the main event segment basically ended up in a big brawl with all of the guys involved in the tournament. The matches were all pretty forgettable and had interference and it feels so weird hearing the fans boo the LOD theme with Animal and Droz now a heel team and they still look just as foolish as they have all year! The most memorable moments was the big brawl with the three tag teams as well as the debut of the Acolytes where they destroyed the DOA in dominant fashion. There was also a stunt where the Blue Blazer descends from the ceiling in a harness and Steve Blackman hits him like a pinata. It was hard to watch given what would happen 6 months later and how dangerous it was for what was essentially a comedy segment."

The main event of Gangrel and Steven Blackman was a good short match too. The other two matches were just average, but as an overall package it was a nice little slice of Attitude Era goodness and I think it did a good job of hyping deadly games."

I'm kinda surprised they were willing to have some of the wrestlers slated for matches at the PPV brawl it out, especiall the Headbangers, NAO and Mark Henry/D-Lo fighting in a concrete hallway backstage. Ends in a big brawl with all of the big names at the very end. The matches weren't all that interesting though."

Val Venis is fun but his match lacked any luster to it, same with the next match with Gangrel, you can tell Vince Russo is writing this because it's more focused on promos and story than quality of wrestling. This is fine because it is the Heat before Survivor Series Deadly Game, I also enjoyed the ending brawl."
