[7.0] "One of the better - if not the best - ECW PPVs I've seen, and it could have been even stronger if not for the disappointing main event. Every match was at least decent and entertaining, and there was very little of the usual garbage wrestling. Even when weapons and furniture were involved, it never felt as excessive or ridiculous as it often does in ECW. The Dudleys vs Mahoney & Spike was an enjoyable slice of controlled chaos, Crazy vs Michinoku was as solid as you'd expect, and Tajiri vs Guido showcased the impressive amateur backgrounds of both wrestlers. Storm vs Dreamer was much better than I anticipated, while Lynn vs RVD, although not on the level of their Living Dangerously match, was still an excellent contest featuring some incredible exchanges throughout. Sid also received a huge reaction for his appearance, and at least Taz vs Dudley delivered a satisfying finish. Overall, a very enjoyable show and one of ECW's strongest efforts."

[6.0] "The show starts off with peak late-90s booking with the scheduled main event instead becoming an impromptu squash, followed by the Dudleys jumping Taz and having an impromptu match of their own. The stretch of the next four matches from Super Crazy/Taka through RVD/Lynn is the best part of the show, with all good to great matches. After that, it's cool to see Sid but it's another impromptu match, followed by an impromptu main event with Taz defending the title for a second time against an undeserving challenger. This is a good run of matches bookended by an episode of Monday Nitro. The skits involving the Dudleys attacking random people on a hit list are death. I had higher hopes for this show based on the match listing."

Best match was Lynn/RVD, no surprise there, but shout out also to Crazy/TAKA and Tajiri/Guido. No idea what was going on with that Sid/Credible business."

[9.0] "I've seen a lot of mid ECW PPVs but this was up there with Barley Legal & Heat Wave '98 for me. Putting on Candido vs. Taz first so we can switch out for Taz vs. Bubba in the main event was really lame to be honest, I'd much rather have Candido vs. Taz in the Main Event but I'm sure something probably happened to Chris before this show. The tag title match was a fun plunder, especially when Spike got involved. Super Crazy vs. Taka Michinoku was a kickass light heavyweight match. Tajiri vs. Guido was fun, I liked Tajiri coming out to the Prodigy. Storm vs. Dreamer was better than I expected. Jerry Lynn vs. RVD was a "fucked fuckers" match that was amazing on just how messed up it was, but it was still awesome. Sid & Sabu did their things in an angle, and both ruled. And Taz vs. Bubba was by far the weakest match of the show, but it was still cool to see Taz be Taz, the absolute world beater. So yeah, it's probably one of the best and possibly most underrated ECW PPVs of all time."

[7.0] "Solid event for ECW with a string of good matches in the middle of the show - notably including one of the best RVD-Lynn encounters, but also good bouts from Crazy-Taka and Tajiri-Guido, and a very fun brawl in Storm-Dreamer. The only real disappointment was that the originally-scheduled main event of Taz vs. Candido played out as essentially an opening match squash, and the continuing Dudleys backstage-attacks angle got old fast, and Bubba wasn't really a viable main event singles wrestler at this point (he wouldn't really work as a single until well into his WWE run, let alone a main eventer - he'd have to wait til well into his TNA run for that), resulting in what became the actual main event being a pretty basic brawl. Still, for most of its run time this is a good enough watch."

[6.0] "Strange show here, with the middle of the card being good to great, but the opening and closing stuff being pretty awful, and the ongoing Dudleys storyline being dumb. The RVD/Lynn match is a classic, and there were three other matches worth watching, but it's hard to recommend the show as a whole as the stuff that was supposed to matter all fell flat."

[7.0] "The undercard of this show absolutely rocks but it is hurt by the main event being a standard fare walk and brawl between Bubba Ray, almost a full decade before he broke out as a singles guy, and Taz who honestly would've had a much better match had he faced both Dudleyz in my opinion. Makes for a more interesting match. Overall, a good show."

[5.0] "Fair. I probably would've agreed with the Cagematch Consensus, had the event not been headlined by Taz and... Buh Buh Ray Dudley. And before that... Justin Credible vs. Sid Vicious in a two-minute confrontation."
