Knight and Fatu and Naomi and Cargill were good but definitely not massive WrestleMania moments. The bad on this night is less egregious and definitely more forgettable but the opener was pretty rough."

[7.0] "Not a bad card, it revved up a ton as the night progressed with only one real slowdown with Tiffany and Charlotte. Jey winning the big one felt deserved after an uphill climb. It was shocking to see him tap Gunther out drawing back to NXT v Ilja but this was one of Jey's better single's matches in a while. The raiders and new day just felt like an advertisement. Cargill and Naomi had me believing the hatred and seeing Naomi come out the way she did was great, wasn't the best but still decent. Jacob Fatu v LA Knight was great and these two turned a match people thought would be lopsided into a masterfully told story of LA Knight hitting Fatu with everything and the kitchen sink making is believe he'd retain. It was a shame about Mysterio but El Grande Americano was awesome to watch, there were moves in there from both athletes I couldn't attempt even if you paid me. Sadly the excitement that was ramping up started to slow down when we reached Tiffany v Charlotte which was a fine match but was nowhere close to stealing the show as there was something that felt off between the two. But to top it all off we got a certified classic between Rollins, Reigns, and Punk. Everything from the entrances to tributes to the promo package to the match and the turn. I was utterly and completely enamored with this main event and it got me super excited for night 2"

[6.0] "[6.4] WrestleMania 41 Saturday was an underwhelming open to the grandest stage of them all. The biggest issue for me was that. It didn't feel like a WrestleMania. It felt like some sort of special you'd see on NBC or something. Not the biggest professional wrestling show of the year -- That being said this was basically a one-match show where their was one amazing match and everything else was just okay but not memorable. Felt like they were treading water until the main event. Gunther vs. Jey Uso was just and made GUNTHER look terrible. Raiders vs. New Day was meh and had an abrupt ending, Cargill vs. Naomi was meh, Fatu vs. LA was okay, Grande vs. Fenix was fine, Stratton vs. Flair was okay and the main event was spectacular. Overall, a fine show that will be memorable for some parts but overall as a show was quite weak."

[4.0] "This is the most disappointing match of the year. I expected these two to tear the house down despite their differences. I expected Rhea vs Charlotte 2.0 but this was not that at all. This match was very sloppy and botchy. So many spots didn't look good at all. On top of all of that this was just a boring match. Not much was exciting here. The reason why I don't rate this lower is because I thought Tiffany and Charlotte had moments of good athleticism. Regardless I was super disappointed by this."

[3.0] "The main event should not hide the fact that this show is so bad. As a matter if not or the main event this might've and probably been a 1. Only Jacob Fatu vs La knight was good other than that. Everything else was mediocre to utter garbage. Bad matches, bad booking, bad match selections. A night to forget for WWE."
John910Cena wrote on 03.01.2026:
[5.0] "Very mid wrestlemania, Jey and Gunther was fun but the finish sucked and Jey shouldn't have been in this spot to begin with, new day and war raiders was just an ad and robbed of us of the amazing TLC triple threat of being on mania, the feud with Jade and Naomi was good but I didn't care for the match, Jacob and Knight was the second best match of the show and it was very fun and Fatu winning was cool, El grande vs Fenix was very underrated it's a really fun match. Tiffany and Charlotte should have been so much better than what it was and the main event saved the show."
HeyyItsKris wrote on 01.12.2025:

The main event was the saving grace, but even then, if you're not a fan of WWE's "cinema" then you wouldn't enjoy it. It's a fun triple threat but nothing special. A big let down for the biggest show of the year."

[6.0] "WrestleMania 41: Night 1 was without a doubt a one match show, with the exception of the excellent main event everything here is mediocre at best. Gunther vs. Jey Uso: after the first match I wanted to leave the show, this is offensive (**), War Raiders vs. New Day: another bad match (**1/4), Jade vs. Naomi: this match surprised me, my expectations regarding anything related to Jade Cargill are the worst possible, but this match worked and the big moves fit (***1/4), LA vs. Fatu (***), Americano vs. Fenix: if they had given at least 15 minutes for this match, this would have stolen the show (***), Tiffy vs. Charlotte: I had high expectations for this match, but the chemistry between the two wasn't the best (***1/2), Seth vs. Roman vs. Punk: the match that saved the show, this one followed the WWE main event guide, we have star power, ref bump, finsher fest and a memorable plot, in a match with three industry giants the MVP was Paul Hryman with his memorable turn, if it weren't for the exaggerated number of finishers, my rating would be even higher (****1/2)."

[6.0] "Such a weird night for Wrestlemania. Honestly as far as wrestling goes I thought this was fine, the only match that really deserves the misfortune as being labelled as bad is Jade Cargill vs Naomi. The issue with this show was just how disappointing it was asa piece of storytelling and that's why I think the main event is the only match that got it's desired reception as much as I didn't care for that match. The triple threat between 3 of the companies biggest stars and the reveal of Paul Heyman's new alliance with Seth Rollins is a Wrestlemania moment and the rest of the card just didn't have that. The closest we get is Jey Uso's curtain jerker against Gunther but that match was the definition of mid. The Women's Championship and Tag Team Championship matches were still good didn't feel Wrestlemania caliber. The United States championship and the El Grande Americano match were pretty good but neither of them were made to steal the show and one was a last minute replacement match. So many matches were all build and no pay off. Jey Uso, The New Day, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton all had victories that came out of nowhere, their matches were so hastily put together that they felt like weekly main events, not showcase of the immortals. It was a weird experience revisiting and being pleasantly surprised by how solid the wrestling was and yet still feeling deflated and how uninteresting everything was"

[3.0] "Out of 7 matches, 3 were good to great, the rest sucked. The good was Gunther and Jey, even though they have had better matches, this was also great, and the crowd was into it, and Jey winning, I liked it, I even liked his Royal Rumble win. LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu was also great and predictable. Every match was predictable, even the main event, but that was the only match that lived up to the hype and the main event level. The match was awesome, I loved it, and it was long and well paced, and the crowd was into it. Now for the bad stuff, New Day vs War Raiders was awful, not a tag match for this level. Jade's match was something no one wanted to see. Getting this instead of Bianca was bad booking, no doubt. Chad vs Rey Fenix sucked, and this should have been awesome. The most disappointing match of the night. Tiffany and Charlotte I didn't even watch cause I knew it would be bad, and it was. Overall, the matches didn't deserve to be on Wrestlemania; only the last two matches were worthy of being at Wrestlemania, and only the Triple Threat had good booking, and Gunther vs Jey's booking was half good; everything else sucked. It sucked the life out of the product in 2025, bad PLE by Triple H."

In my opinion the two biggest problems were the boring (for the most part) entrances and match length, with almost every match feeling too short. Out of almost 4 hours of the event only 2 were actual wrestling which leaves the show feeling bloated. All in all it didn't really feel like a mania, it kinda gave random ppv vibes most of the time."

The main event was one of the greatest main events of all time I think so that really boosts the shows rating for me. It's baffling how the raw tag titles were on this show and not the smackdown tag titles. The tag match was whatever and the women's title match wasn't good but I did think the rest of the show was good. 7.25/10."

While a couple of matches stood out and delivered what fans hoped for, the rest of the card struggled to rise above average. The energy was there at times but the flow felt uneven and a few segments dragged. It was enjoyable in parts but lacked the consistency and spark to be truly great."

[6.0] "A little disappointing given that this WWE's biggest event of the year with some weird booking decisions like Fenix losing in 8 minutes the same day WWE announced the AAA thing which definitely worries me a bit, Gunther tapping out (I'll sure he'll be fine though), and of course leaving the Smackdown tag titles off the card. The Wrestlemania didn't feel as big as a Wrestlemania should feel but still some good stuff. Fatu winning the title in a great match was fun, I personally loved the Stratton/Flair match and even with my previous comment about the situation the 8 minutes of Gable and Fenix was great but should have been the end of Gables gimmick as I thought he would be pushed as himself instead a comedy luchador. The main event was of course fantastic and I'm very happy seeing Punk getting his main event. I do feel Stand and Deliver was better and I hope tomorrow brings better stuff."

[5.0] "This night was underwhelming. Jey v. Gunther started fine and the match was actually going better than I expected but the finish, oh man that terrible finish literally killed the wrestling 4/10. Tag team match doesn't belong to WrestleMania, I mean we could literally get TLC for SmackDown tag team titles and the match was quite mid 3/10. Cargill v. Naomi was short and kinda okay compared to first two matches on the card 5/10. Fatu v. Knight is what we get on a usual Raw, nothing special, some nice moves and that's it 6/10. Americano v. Fenix was supposed to be much more than this, we could have a 15 min fast-paced banger, but we got another Raw match on a PPV 5/10. Tiffany v. Charlotte put up a decent match, 6/10. Main Event was crazy good, one of the best triple threat matches of all time 9/10. Overall a dissapointing but watchable night."

[6.0] "One word can summarize 2025 for WWE: Mess. I mean, after Wrestlemania 40... what came next? That question lingers in everyone's minds--from the wrestlers, management, the upper-echelon's in the company, the fans... everyone didn't know what would happen later. From the buildup to the conclusion, all the fans in Vegas saw was that--a mess. The first match let everyone know from the start, let alone the first night! We all knew Gunther would lose to Jay, anyone who said that they didn't are probably being sarcastic. The only saving grace would be the main event: Well, some expected the ending, but the way it was executed was perfect, hell, the whole build up was fantastic and probably the only real reason why many watched the show anyways; I sure as hell did too--I remember screaming when that twist happened and that smile from Rollins said that we should stay tuned for more. But can that be said for the rest of the show? No, it cannot. It was boring even if some of the results made me happy (I.E. Tiffany retaining the championship, good call Triple H! ), but in the end... damn... it was a downgrade after last year."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 18.05.2025:
[4.0] "Collectively this year's WrestleMania was an uneven mess. In the case of night 1, the Rollins-Reigns-Punk "main event" featured some storytelling that verged on arguably heavy-handed and definitely took a bit too long to get where it was going, but was still mostly good and one of the better matches of the weekend. As to the Gunther-Uso World Title match, though, was a letdown - Gunther tried to get what he could out of Jey, but IMO Jey - who I actually like with his brother as a tag team - just isn't a good singles wrestler, and having Gunther tap out after little struggle with the final hold was absolutely a mistake. New Day vs War Raiders was largely treated as an afterthought and may as well have just been a TV match. Cargill vs Naomi was pretty good, I thought; easily Cargill's best WWE match thus far and probably her best overall since the Statlander match in AEW. Fatu vs Knight was also good and probably my favorite of the night. Fenix vs. "Americano" was solid in terms of action, with Gable doing well in matching up to Fenix' lucha style - but I still think Gable could be doing better stuff than the Americano gimmick, and having Fenix lose clean to such a gimmick this early in his run may not be a great idea either (but I can give that a bit of leeway considering he was a replacement opponent here). Stratton vs Flair was OK but there definitely seemed to be a lack of chemistry that dinged the match a bit. There's overall enough good here to give night 1 an "adequate" but nothing to push it above that zone."

[7.0] "The night all in all deserves a B grade. Not too good, not too bad either but definitely not Wrestle Mania quality. There were doubts beforehand by critics and analysts that it was gonna fail and it failed to deliver. The card was not the best so there wasn't any hype tbh which saved it from absolute diaster like in the Royal Rumble. The main event delivered and L.A/Fatu was a distant second, everything else is secondary imo."

[6.0] "Wrestlemania 41 Saturday was alright. Fatu/Knight, Stratton/Charlotte, Americano/Fenix, and of course the triple threat main event stood out. Those matches were good with the latter being the best match of Wrestlemania Saturday and Sunday. I have a hunch though, the Uso/Gunther match had a hot crowd but the finish went over most people's head and left me wanting a little more aggressiveness and damage to setup the submission.. Jey Uso deserved a main event push because of how over he became post Bloodline arc, and I'm excited to his run with the workers World Championship, the World Heavyweight title. The crowd was still electric when Jey won. Then we had the Raw Tag Team Championship match.. which kind of deflated the crowd in my opinion. Minimal buildup, short match. Happy to see The New Day holding titles again however. Let's hope they get some heat soon because their heel turn has been lackluster. The crowd thankfully recovered a bit for Cargill and Naomi. Jade has definitely improved in the ring and Naomi is always fun to watch. Fatu/Knight had fantastic chemistry and put on a good match. Love seeing LA Knight and Jacob Fatu getting their first championship matches held at Wrestlemania. Americano/Fenix was good and awesome to see, Gable excels in the spotlight. Fenix stepped up to the plate short notice for Rey Mysterio who had an injury. Fenix losing is no big deal, AJ Styles lost his Wrestlemania debut to Jericho. Stratton/Charlotte was good, Tiffany won me over big with this match. The entrances stood out, Charlotte is going to be missed when she hangs her boots up. Rollins/Punk/Reigns was a classic. Entrances, the electricity of the crowd, the action and the storytelling was on point. Fantastic, this match was so fun and the finish was perfect. The Wiseman chose his future... Seth Freakin' Rollins. Punk getting his first Wrestlemania main event was long overdue. Roman Reigns has gotten so over that people hardly remember the days of "The Big Dog" circa 2015-2020. Great way to end the night, this match bumped the 5/10 score I had to a 6/10. Wish the Smackdown Tag Team Championship TLC match was on this card in place of the Raw tag title."

I feel let down, even though I didn't have very high expectations to begin with. I was really worried about how Night 2 would go, and unfortunately, things turned out even worse than I feared."

[6.0] "This did not feel like WrestleMania whatsoever. A one match show. An awkwardly paced show with essentially throwaway TV matches aside from a few matches. The opener seemed heatless and completely made Jey Uso's world title win fall flat. New Day and War Raiders' match was nothing special which is unfortunate considering the calibre of the teams. Naomi/Jade was everything it needed to be, but even then it was just good. Some spots in the match were good tho. Then we got to the crowd awakener, Knight and Fatu had a sleeper hit, and it further proved that Knight is a very reliable worker in the midcard. Gable making the Mania card and getting a win just because of this stupid gimmick is moronic, but the match was good. Tiffy and Charlotte were off to a fiery start but their match ended up being highly sloppy at points so it wasn't great. Then, the main event, easily the match of the night. Even before the theatrics, Punk, Seth and Roman, for the first time in ages, had their working boots ON. Seeing Punk's entrance was emotional to say the least. Then, the shocking turn which was executed really well. All in all. a very weird show, and probably the weakest single night of WrestleMania of the 2-night era. Gunther/Jey **1/2 (2.5). Raiders/ND **1/2 (2.5). Naomi/Jade *** (3). Fatu/Knight ***3/4 (3.75). Fenix/Gable ***1/4 (3.25). Tiffy/Charlotte ***1/4 (3.25). Punk/Seth/Roman ****1/2 (4.5)."

A lot of the wrestlers seemed off timing with one another and even the good matches felt like they were missing that special something. The main event was great though despite being predictable. [9.0] "Going on order: i found the opener good, the ending could have been done definitely better but the idea of jey using on gunther the moves that he killed jimmy with was great, he just had to keep gunther in the choke for more time so the revenge would have been greater and at the same time if gunther tapped after 30-40 seconds or if he just went to sleep he would have looked stronger. The new day match was just a fine raw match, really bad for WM. Jade and naomi did a good match and the build was also fine, not a match that i will really remember but a good to have for the mid card in a 2 night mania. The united states title match was good but with a nothing build, i'm always stunned how LA knight that i found very mid in big matches on big stage is capable to deliver. Honestly the El grande americano story was one of the better builds for this WM. Of course it's just comedy but i find it hilarious and at the end it's putting great wrestlers in the spotlight. The match was too short but considering the ending probably not a bad idea, i'm happy that they are keep it going hoping they know where it's going. Charlotte tiffany was another great match, the spot where they were just slapping each other and pushing in a kind of sloppy way was perfect for how the build went and honestly when it endend i thought it could have been longer but the i realized it went for almost 20 minutes. Not a classic as some of the charlotte single match at WM but still a really entartaining match and also well written in how the match went following the build. The main event was the only both memorable and weel fought match of the night, probably a WM classic that we will remember. Also the heyman turn was the only real WM moment of this night but a really important one and on the right spot, and seeing the follow up on raw i think this will be even more meaningful in the future. In the end i realize that the only bad match and not WM worthy was the tag one and the main event really overdelivered so definitely not perfect or amazing but still very good."

"The start of this night of Wrestlemania felt lackluster in ring wise. A few good moments but the matches felt off and once the match's started to get good it wasn't great. The Main event was the best part of this show by miles."

Started awful with flat Jey win and a TV tag then picked up with Jade/Naomi and Knight/Fatu but got back down with terrible El Grande Americano bs and bad Tiffany/Charlotte match. The Main Event was outstanding and saved the night 1 overall."

The main event is the only match on the card I'd say is worth actively seeking out while the rest of the card ranged from bad to decent, but kinda dull. I wasn't even that into the main event myself, so it wasn't even that impactful for making the night better for me. [MOTN: CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins]"
