[6.0] "This episode of AEW Dynamite was an eventful show with some terrific storytelling, particularly the phenomenal Will Ospreay/Swerve Strickland segment. Ospreay in general was very well used through the night, as was MJF, as his match with Rush was the highlight of the show from an in ring perspective. Plenty of matches for Forbidden Door showcased or advanced through matches and stories, making for a useful show. In the ring the action was consistently solid, but structural problems were equally prevalent. The 8 man tag, as fun as it was, going almost 20 minutes and 2 commercial breaks, as well as the Eliminator match slightly overstaying its welcome, led to the Owen Hart cup matches going comparatively short and feeling rushed, particularly the womens match. It was a solid and good show, but couldve been an even better one with the show structured more effectively to give the later matches the time they needed."

[8.0] "One of the best Dynamite of the year (for me the best was with Sting and Darby winning the tag team titles). The opening was spectacular with MJF and Rush being a very physical, intense and technical fight. The promo between Swerve and Ospreay was very good, I was even surprised by the good level on Ospreay's microphone. The Eight Man Tag Team match was quite entertaining with great moments for everyone. The tag team fight between the Bucks and Aclaimmed was quite correct, fun and with good chemistry at specific moments. The fight between Kris and Nyla was very outstanding, I would like to see more of Nyla on TV in the future. Good segment of Toni and Mia with the contract signing. Finally, the main event was very good, physical, technical and 100% chemistry between Claudio and PAC. It was a spectacular and incredible Dynamite. 10/10."

[9.0] "This was probably the best episode of AEW television this year. The opening match between MJF and Rush would be the match of the night, most nights, so it was quite surprising that there were two better matches here. Dante Martin, Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, and Mark Briscoe vs. Roderick Strong, the Don Callis Family, and Zack Sabre Jr. was the actual match of the night. The Acclaimed had a good match with the Young Bucks to qualify for a title shot that I hope they don't win. Kris Statlander defeated Nyla Rose in a good match from the women's Owen. Daniel Garcia squashed Rhett Titus, and finally, PAC defeated Claudio Castagnoli in a very good match from the men's Owen."

[7.0] "Great start to the show. Great segment between Ospreay and Swerve. Match of the night right off the bat with MJF & Rush. A decent 8-Man tag match with the likes of Kyle Fletcher and ZSJ. Good tag team match between the Bucks and The Acclaimed, including a surprising finish. A solid women's match between Statlander and Nyla Rose. Wasn't entertained by the squash match or the main event."

[7.0] "Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland segment was entertaining to watch and interesting with the possibility of Ospreay leaving The Don Callis Family. Toni Storm/Mina Shirakawa contract signing was fun to watch. MJF vs Rush: A really good return match for MJF, he and Rush had great chemistry, great back and forth action throughout, MJF winning was the right call [***3/4]. Dante Martin, Kyle O'Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy vs Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Roderick Strong & Zack Sabre Jr: An all star eight man tag team match that featured a couple of previews for the upcoming Forbidden Door event, awesome match that had some decent spots and where all involved managed to get their moments [****1/4]. Anthony Bowens & Max Caster vs Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson: An okay tag team match that had a surprising result, The Young Bucks tried to gain the advantage at times but The Acclaimed overcame to win the match [**3/4]. Kris Statlander vs Nyla Rose: A mediocre match, good to see Nyla Rose back on Dynamite, but the match wasn't that good to be honest [**]. Daniel Garcia vs Rhett Titus: A squash match [DUD]. PAC vs Claudio Castagnoli: Good match, could have been great if given the time, they did what they could with the time they had been given, back and forth action, PAC winning was a surprise [***1/4]"

[7.0] "Tony Schiavone on commentary called this one of the best Dynamites ever. It was ok but one of the best ever, nah. There were a couple of there and a half star matches, the opener and the main, but the rest was just a bit average. There was however nothing terrible about this show either. So overall not a bad place to be in."

[6.0] "I feel like AEW is once again in the stage of poor build on the road to Forbidden Door. Nothing about this episode was bad in my opinion (other than the title eliminator matches getting on my nerves), but it just didn't feel all that interesting despite some high quality matches. [MOTN: Claudio Castagnoli vs. PAC]"

[2.0] "So the opening and main event matches were good and solid to watch but it seemed like this episode was a dud and now the TV ratings have seem to confirm that. The issue isn't the quality of matches as a fan but the format of the show. It felt like just an average show and its kinda a shame based on some of the quality we got in the card. However when you only get 502 thousand viewers to watch, it really speaks volumes to say folks are not intrigued in the product currently. Again the MJF versus Rush match was solid and the main event was exciting however neither felt like it had a significant build behind it and the whole episode felt like it was slow. Thats kinda what turned me away as a viewer."

[6.0] "Not a bad episode but it did feel a bit front-loaded. The second half slowed the momentum down and ended with an okay wrestling-for-the-sake-of-wrestling tournament match, which felt at odds with the opening match and the little bit of build that had. The Ospreay vs Swerve promo felt a little long but got things back on track by the end, and the contract signing segment was on the poor side until they flipped the script and put a twist on the contract signing table trope."

[9.0] "Really good episode here, one of the best Dynamites of the year, not only because of the matches, but the way they progressed storylines, Ospreay and Swerve promo battle was great, just like the segment between Toni and Mina, I'm very engaged with this story. The way MJF and Ospreay came to rescue Daniel Garcia and had a staredown was pretty well done too, they're trying to establish face of the company status for these two."

[9.0] "Excellent Dynamite, it had it all, great in ring for the MJF vs Rush, the All Star 8 man tag and the main event. Great promos with Swerve/Ospreay. Great hypes for the PPV, I love the fact that MJF will be facing a CMLL wrestler in Henchicero, good showing again for Mina Shirakawa, ZSJ did great in the tag match. Also great hypes for the AEW product as well, with Ospreay and MJF face to face (holy sh*t seriously! ) The Owen Hart Cup is looking good this year, hoping Danielson wins it!"

[10.0] "Every Dynamite in the Forbidden Door build has been really good, but this has been one step beyond. We keep talking about "restoring the feeling"; this was quite possibly the best Dynamite since the one which started with Swerve/Hangman going to a time limit and ended with Darby and Sting winning the tag titles. Not a single bad match; most of the matches were very good; and the non-wrestling segments had a clear sense of purpose. More of this, please."

[10.0] "The best Dynamite of the year. All of the matches either delivered or had purpose and the DMV crowd was hot. It was the most AEW feeling show that AEW has had. Swerve and Ospreay also sold me a ticket to Forbidden Door."

[8.0] "mjf vs rush to open the show was excellent, hard hitting, fast paced and i love how they both still wrestled their heelish styles, it worked perfectly and i hope we can see more of rush. the swerve and osprey promo sold me on swerve retaining at fd. this is the side of him i love to see, an excellent promo from both of them. the 8 man tag was just brilliant, got me so excited for zsj vs oc. the bucks match was fine but i really don't want to see the acclaimed in big 2024, especially in blood and guts, the okada part was excellent tho. i'm loving the stuff with joe, hook and shabada i just wish joe was in the owen. both women cut good promos for the contract signing but the women's match for the owen was nothing special. jericho finally got the right amount of tv time and the mjf ospreay face off was special, both of them are dream match machines, holy shit chants from a stare down. the main event was also great and teased a claudio heel turn"

[10.0] "for now, this is my best Dynamite of the year. MJF vs Rush gave a really good opener but strange in the end, the all star tag team was very fun lot action, mixed storylines , i loved it. PAC Vs Claudio Castagnoli was a good clash of styles with a final speed and good for the status of all. Not same Kris Statlander Vs Nyla Rose. I was very happy for the huge crowd for Nyla, she deserves it . Kris is good in this new character but his moves aren't fluid like as last attitudes . Another point very incredible of this show was segments. Ospreay and Swerve was excellent, particular but good Toni and Mina. Outta of nowhere we have the first face to face between Ospreay and MJF, this show was very complete and awesome !"

[8.0] "Highlights: Mark Brisco, the 8 man, Okada, Mina's promo, Swerve and Ospreay, Samoa Joe, someone winning an Eliminator match. The lowlights: not many, but the Stat match could've been better and the Jericho segments would be vastly improved if their was more equality in the group and they could riff off each other more naturally, rather than just Jericho dribbling."

[5.0] "AEW continues to feel largely pretty middling to me with little to sink into in the build to Forbidden Door, a show that has lost meaning of its name with the way Tony has pillaged New Japans main event scene and failed to get much of any other presence on the show. A number of talented wrestlers booked in uninteresting situations. So many talents that I do enjoy that have little reason to be overly invested in with how they are booked/treated. The Owen tournament lacks in starpower including the likes of MJF, Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, and Will Ospreay not being in it making the tournament feel lesser, a tournament of which I already found has underperformed the last two years but at least this one may set up Danielson challenging for the AEW title to lose I guess."

[9.0] "[8.7] Probably one of the best dynamites of the year. MJF vs Rush gave a really good opener even if it was an abrupt end to their program, the all star tag was fun, PAC vs castagnoli was a good clash of styles. Those alone would've given the show like an 8, but you also had some really fun segments, like Ospreay and Swerve having one of the best promo battles of the year and the Mina vs Toni contract signing (even if that was soured slightly by the interference of Saraya.) An all around great show."

[6.0] "Good vibes throughout, and the eight-man killed, but the critical singles matches promised a lot and didn't deliver. Rush delivered a trademark strange performance. Kris and Nyla didn't do much. And PAC vs Claudio was great on paper, less so in practice. The eight-man held together brilliantly given all the moving pieces."

[9.0] "Excellent show. The 8 Man Tag, RUSH vs. MJF, and PAC vs. Claudio were all stellar. There were also two standout segments with the Swerve/Ospreay promo and Okada being the best comedian in wrestling today. Jericho was on the TV so I turned it temporarily or it couldve been a 10. Statlander/Rose was solid and there was connective tissue from storylines throughout the show. TK seems to sit up in his chair during Forbidden Door season."

[5.0] "Slightly above average show, I was content with most of the matches and segments with Pac vs Claudio Castagnoli being the highest point, even though I wasn't a big fan of how the match ended. My least favorite thing about this show was the absolute train wreck of a segment between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay."

[9.0] "This was easily one of the best Dynamites of the year. MJF vs. Rush was a really good opening match. Having MJF back is a blessing and Rush is beast, both are amazing talents. Swerve and Ospreay's promo was this show's peak, absolutely fantastic segment. I was already hyped for their match but now I'm even more hyped. The All-Star eight men tag was the best match of the night, AEW has mastered multi-man tags and this one is one of the best ones we got to see lately. This first hour was perfect. Things cool down a bit with YB vs. The Acclaimed which was a fine match. They told a good story and it was easily the best Acclamed's match in months. I loved the Okada bit a the start, super funny. Mina/Toni's contract signing was a good segment. Mina cut a great promo in english and I'm really interested to see which side will Mariah pick. Statlander vs. Rose was forgettable but I'm happy Nyla got a nice pop from the crowd. DG had a fine squash and afterwards he got attacked by Cage of Agony and Hechicero. MJF and Ospreay came out for the save and we got a great tease between MJF and Ospreay. Chills. Pac vs. Castagnoli was a good main event, a bit disappointing but enjoyable in the end. Overall: the first hour of the show was perfect, it flown by and everything delivered. Second hour cooled things down a little but they were always above average."

[8.0] "Top to bottom great show. Exceptional promo between Ospreay and Swerve. Mina and Toni's confrontation was fun until Toni was being Toni in a worse sense. Compared to Mina she really didn't really raise the stakes there. Outcasts' interruption once again made it clear that AEW is still struggling with what to do with some of its fellow wrestlers (which is Anna Jay in this case) but at least tries to give screen time and see what would stick. Mina once again leaving with Mariah was clever enough. Backstage stuff and Danielson commentary were cherries on the top. Unlike some, I found Rush's strong presentation intriguing. Did he needed to look strong? In a sense I think so. They brawled for minutes straight just last week and so if that guy has balls to go against a homegrown top talent he better backs that up. MJF's victory was expected but it could have came better. Especially since he still seemed to be stuck in his previous babyface persona. Maybe 'commercial free' gimmick drove us into expecting something else though it was still a great TV match. All-Star match was another overhyped AEW stuff but it's to be expected of them. It was alright, still as overbooked as your usual cliche multiman AEW tag. Things go mad, workers exchange finishers and somebody has to be there to eat the pin. That's the breakdown of it. Not quite exciting on the paper but it gets you involved enough. YB vs The Acclaimed was better than my anticipations however, it did nothing to invest me in this ongoing feud, Okada was hilarious though. Nyla got a hometown rub and received well. In one of her rarer appearences it was clear who was going to win. A well worked match without not quite high stakes. Another squash for Garcia which led to a total mess. Well, Ospreay vs Garcia is coming, we get it and for some reason you want to tease MJF vs Ospreay and you also want to raise the bar for Hechicero vs MJF (which was thrown out onto us totally randomly) but all at the same time? Why we must have future teases in the fkn Forbidden Door season? It becomes hard to follow. Either way, Garcia's squashes are overally impressive but I don't get how Comoroto or Rhett Titus (these guys are not even active wrestlers in AEW) supposed to build him up against Ospreay. At last, we got PAC vs Claudio. A bit short but impressive. A well executed finish that somehow gave PAC the upper hand without hurting Claudio too much."

"[4.0] MJF vs Rush was a restart feud that only served as a cleanse from that awful MJF baby-face run that closed out 2023. Rush bullied MJF for a good chunk of the match as he ran circles around the TOP GUY; a typical Rush match. MJF wins and is immediately challenged by a Luchador for the PPV. It's another busy work feud until the other top guys are free. Ospreay and Swerve do promos about being a better worker and wrestling more than '400 matches in a year' Hulk Hogan. Next is the obligatory multi-man tag match that can be summed up as "let's all do a bunch of moves until one of us decides to lose". Bucks vs Acclaimed starts with NJPW GOAT Okada interrupting Max's rap to do dorky comedy and continues to be dragged down by the Bucks' viewer-tanking heat. Acclaimed surprisingly wins but it's only an eliminator match so it doesn't count as the Bucks can reverse the decision much like using lava in Rock, Paper, Scissors. Toni/Mina contract signing is like trying to read two books at once. Mina builds the story as she promises to take Toni's belt and Mariah. Toni kills any story building by seemingly forgetting her lines and ending it with her misplaced catchphrase. Mina brings it back by giving Mariah an ultimatum before being squashed by Saraya inserting herself with her group to beat up the women in the ring. Willow taunts Kris. Garcia seems to be the Dean Malenko of AEW. Impressive technical wrestler but has zero personality. He gets beat up by the people who challenged MJF who also tries saving Garcia even though he has no dog in the fight and Ospreay comes out to save them both. They tease MJF vs Ospreay. The crowd is pretty much dead for the main event with Claudio and Pac. The only takeaway is that Danielson is gonna fight and beat some NJPW guy. Lots of fat on this steak of a show. Commentary is still horrible"

[6.0] "This episode of AEW Dynamite was decent not the best I didn't enjoy it as much the only good matches this week were the Eight Man Tag Team Match and maybe the main event but I felt like it ended too quick with the roll up we will err what happens on next weeks show"

[10.0] "What an excellent episode of dynamite from start to finish.the swerve and ospreay face to face really brought the heat to an already big main event for the ppv.mjf vs rush did go on for a bit to long but it showcase both athletes well here.the 8 man all star tag match was a fun watch and both owen hart cup matches where both strong for the start of the tournament.This episode is definitely up there with some of the best dynamites this year easy two hours watch."

[7.0] "I wanted to like this show more than I did but sadly from an in ring point of view it under delivered. The opening match in particular there was no need to make RUSH look so strong against MJF whos the biggest homegrown star in the company. 2 good tag matches and a strong main event helped the show but all in all, not as good as I hoped"

[10.0] "Best Dynamite so far this year. Every match outside of the squash was good to great and I saw a sense of urgency on the show the past two weeks I haven't seen in maybe two years. Match of the night I'd give to the all star 8 man just edging out MJF vs Rush. The 6 and 8 man tag matches are making Dynamite the party it needs to be. Swerve and Ospreay continue the best build to a title match AEW has done all year. The promos by them tonight made me feel and not many in wrestling can do that to me. Ospreay is going to be a huge star and he maybe the best babyface promo in wrestling right now. I like the matches for the Owen but could use a second guy in the bracket I feel could win (maybe the wild card will be hanger). Mina cut a good promo and I can't wait for what they do in that match to further the Toni and Mariah story."

[8.0] "I watched a few shows after debut of Hollywood star Mercedes. Really liked Osprey and Okada as well. But soon got disinterested due to random matches between a big star and a jobber. With the roster AEW has, it's criminal to not exploit 50-50 booking by making two big stars collide. I also like 8 to 10 men tag matches just like we used to get in first few episodes of Collision. I saw the card on X and was blown away. MJF is back ! Pac vs Claudio. Promo between Osprey and Swerwe. What's not to like? Gave me a great reason to tune in. I watched the show and left with zero regrets. Great wrestling, loved the selling and decent segments in between. In my opinion, dynamite should always have a strong card and star vs jobber matches should be saved for collision and rampage. I am impressed by the production, bright crowd lighting and camera work. Overall strong show but not enough to make me watch next week"

[9.0] "AEW Dynamite delivered a fantastic show, deserving a solid 9/10 rating. The night was filled with thrilling matches, captivating storylines, and memorable moments. The in-ring action was exceptional, featuring high-flying maneuvers, hard-hitting strikes, and technical brilliance. The wrestlers showcased their skills and had great chemistry, resulting in engaging and dynamic contests. The storytelling was top-notch, with well-developed narratives and surprising twists. The promos and segments were entertaining, adding depth to the characters and advancing the storylines. The production values were impressive, creating a visually appealing and immersive experience. AEW Dynamite continues to set the bar high, providing an exciting and must-watch wrestling program."

[10.0] "Been home from this show for about an hour. The opener was hot and action packed between MJF and RUSH. An incredible contest to set the tone with physicality and plenty of character work. Ospreay and Swerve's face to face was just as hot and emotionally charged and even then they showed great restraint before coming to blows. The All Star tag was sensational multiman wrestling. It truly was an All star caliber match and every single participant wrestled at the top of their game and I wouldn't be shocked if that match got 5 from the observer cuz it got 5 from me in the building. Mina and Toni's contract signing couldn't even be brought down by Saraya's appearance, Anthony Bowens put on a starmaking performance against the young bucks in the tag title eliminator match, Nyla and Statlander were a match made in strongwoman heaven together. Nyla showed everyone she still wrestles at a world championship level and that Tombstone by Statlander was incredible for a woman with two ACL surgeries. Claudio and PAC were also a perfect way to cap the Dynamite portion of the night. You'd think these two would've wrestled each other about 100 times base don this match because it was so well put together and took full advantage of the Overrun for the episode. Top Tier Dynamite."

[10.0] "Best TV wrestling episode I've watched in a long time, in-ring wrestling is unmissable and all on point. Great job heating Will vs Swerve. The tag action was outstanding, crazy amount of talent and did well building for ZSJ and OC. Rush finally gets the spotlight he deserves again as he is one of themostbrutal wrestlers in the world and a great asset. Acclaimed & YB are cooking but we know how it ends and I like it tbh. DG is in the centre of attention again with a small tease between Will and Max. The main event for was even better than their ROH match"

[10.0] "An absolute home run of a show. Rush is a perfect foil for MJF's more goofy side and that came through in their match tonight. Fantastic promo battle from Swerve and Will Ospreay, we're seeing Swerve lean more into his nihilistic side that I think has been missing from his reign so far I'm so excited for their match at Forbidden Door. This multi man tag the last few weeks has been great as well, we get stars in the ring with each other and we're able to see people like Mark Briscoe shine in promos and guys like Kyle O'Reilly find new things with stuff like his facial reactions which has been hilarious. More of those please. I've cooled on the Acclaimed but the crowd is still into them and their match tonight was a good one, Okada is always a highlight. Liked Statlander vs Nyla, good to see Nyla back and getting a great reaction. Super hot for the MJF/Ospreay face off, think that could be a great headlining Wembley match. Loving the brackets for the Owen can't wait to see who the Wild Card is and we capped off an excellent show with a great Pac and Claudio match."

[10.0] "for me that was one of the best TV episodes of that year , a great opening between Rush and MJF , the angles and the promos were so good the world heavyweight segment got me hyped to the match , Okada interfering with the acclaimed was funny and their match was kinda good but i really dont wanna see the acclaimed on TV , the all star tag was insane with cool spots am waiting Zack vs Cassidy so much fr , good main event anddddd we finally getting bryan vs shingo .Overall a fired up episode and OMG on that forbidden door card 8 bangers till now"

[9.0] "Damn good episode. 2 hours flew by. The best thing about the Elite power struggle storyline is how it's roping all the top stars into the same circle and making the whole company feel alot more connected. In the past, many factions and people felt like they were on their own isolated island, but the Elite are either siding with, paying off, or pissing off half the roster. Okada with the pop of the night for me, cutting off Max Caster's rap in the ultimate babyface move. AND the match focused almost entirely on Bowens, AND the Acclaimed actually won their Eliminator match because it was against the Bucks and not guys who never lose like Moxley or Orange Cassidy. All the matches were good and the segments were all hits for me. Swerve and Will are heating up, with Swerve teasing a return to his evil ways. The ladies division is the best and most cohesive its ever been. I definitely want more Mina. The eight man tag was fun, the MJF opener was solid, and Daniel Garcia got a big pop, Mark Briscoe is fucking hilarious. The sole negative was Jericho, but I won't dwell on it because it was quick and almost funny."

"MJF vs. Rush was a really good oppening and it got me excitted for the rest of the show. the face off between ospreay and swerve was the best part of the show, i dont like champ vs champ matches but i know that these two will give us a banger. the multi man tag match was really fun, i think AEW should give us more of those, definitely match of the night. the eliminator match was fine but i lost my interest in The Acclaimed since All In so im not interestd in an another Acclaimed championship run right now, the best thing about this match is okada's bit. i dont like toni storm's gimmick and im not intrested in anything she does with the title. rose vs statlander was less than ok. i really liked the tease between ospreay and MJF who i think will be the wild card in the owen hart tournament and he will go on to win it all and face ospeary in all in for the world championship. PAC vs claudio was a good match. during the match they announced bryan danielsson vs shingo in forbidden door which i think is gonna be match of the night. overall a really great and fun episode and it got me really hyped for forbidden door."

[9.0] "Great Dynamite from opening match to the closing frame. Lots of great matches, the all star 8-man tag was put together so well. Lots of great spots between 2 or more wrestlers and was a great treat for wrestling fans! The face to face with Swerve and Will got more personal than even I thought it would get which should help the heat and makes me more excited for Forbidden Door. Dynamite and AEW as a whole seems to be on a good trajectory right now lets see if Collision can keep the train rolling."
