[7.0] "I attended this show. Overall, I enjoyed it; I really enjoyed the BCC opener and the Patriarchy segment (we wanted Killswitch to become Luchasaurus again SO BADLY). The main event felt really weird; I have a hard time taking Malachi Black as a babyfaces. I was disappointed by the Hechicero match, as it wasn't really a showcase for him, but Dalton Castle's back is being held together with twine so it's understandable. The dark match featuring EJ Nduka was the second most interesting thing not on Collision; he's got a great look and charisma. The most interesting thing to happen was the ROH TV title match between Kyle Fletcher and Lee Johnson, which is 4.25 stars in my book. Finally, I have to address the crowd: it was small. It does hurt immersion when wrestlers play to the hard cam without any fans there, but I thought it was still a fun show without anything super compelling. 7/10."
[7.0] "This was a complete nothingburger of an episode, especially for an anniversary. At least the wrestling was good. The Blackpool Combat Club vs. Lio Rush, Rocky Romero, and TMDK match went from seeming filler to match of the night real quick. Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa had a good match despite it being outside of Deonna's normal wheelhouse. Hechicero squashed Dalton Castle, which was disappointing, since I still want Dalton to be more then entertaining enhancement talent. Dante Martin vs. Lee Moriarty was good, but far too short. Kyle O'Reilly squashed Anthony Henry. Finally, The House of Black and the Bang bang Gang had a good match."
[4.0] "This was a very mediocre episode of Collision, even further let down by there being explicit branding of it as an anniversary show. If my expectations weren't heightened by them making a big deal out of it in the marketing, I probably would have rated this a 5, but the extra hype only served to make it that much more disappointing. [MOTN: Blackpool Combat Club vs. Lio Rush, Mikey Nicholls, Rocky Romero & Shane Haste]"
[7.0] "Nothing spectacular for an anniversary ep, but still better than the normal nothing-burger Collision usually is. This ep actually had matches without obvious winners, which is an immediate improvement imo. I liked the Christian stuff, and the matches were all decent to good. The Acclaimed segment was great any time Bowens was talking, and shit any time Caster had the mic, with his facebook level name calling. Bowens just outshines Caster in every way possible. I also think a clear delineation needs to be made soon in what powers the EVPs actually have vs Tony Khan. If you want a real civil war, then clarify the power struggle dynamics now. Give the Bucks some real teeth and some reason why Tony can't just automatically over ride them. Seeing the Outrunners as the Boys popped me, and I love the new role that Daddy Magic has settled into. Lio Rush is getting into the mix with Top Flight crew, so a decent amount of intrigue happening this ep."
[7.0] "Good storyline movement on Collision, which is a little rare these days (esp. the HoB/Christian stuff and the strong non-title feud-building for Rosa/Deonna). The in-ring work was solid throughout the night, and the cross-promotion guests were all fun too (especially Hechicero)."
[7.0] "Christian Cage continues to do amazing mic work in AEW. Teasing the beginning of a Killswitch turn was interesting. Match quality was solid throughout with Castle vs Hechicero being my match of the night despite only going 4 minutes I truly enjoyed it. Lio Rush/Top Flight is an interesting storyline and the Acclaimed & Daniels beating down Cutler was just to give them all a purpose."
[8.0] "Thought this was a really fun show. A lot of storyline building with the Trios division, a good match for the right to enter the TNT ladder match, a great Mox promo. Thought Deonna and Thunder delivered in the No Disqualification match and really liked seeing a heel go over in that type of match and thought the finish was clever. Didn't really love the Acclaimed promo but it did feel like more of a return to form for them so I'm hoping they can build off of that and win me back fully. Really like the stuff with Lio Rush and Top Flight a great call back to a few years ago and set up some intrigue for guys I really like. Main event was great and I thought the Buddy "injury" leading into an attack by The Patriarchy was really well executed."
[7.0] "Collision is a bastion of consistency in quality but in this respect tonight, said quality was more internal than external to the past few weeks. There wasnt a bad match on tonights match, but nor was there a match that really set the wheels turning. Just solid but pedestrian wrestling, fitting in with the "neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed; just whelmed" vibe today has been. Still, it deserves points for consistency; I would rather not be colossally insulted when watching wrestling, after all."
[8.0] "A really solid episode of Collision. I am really enjoying the four-man BCC tag matches they've been putting on. Great women's match between Deonna and Thunder, the shotgun dropkick off the table spot by Thunder was tremendous. A few good mid-card matches with Hechiero and Dante Martin. I like the developing storyline with Lio Rush and Top Flight. Always enjoyable seeing the Patriarch and the slow build with Killswitch. Good main event between HOB and BBG, with a quality finish."
[5.0] "Not a terrible show but quite underwhelming for an anniversary show: BCC vs. TMDK & Chaos was the best match of the night, pretty fun match. The Acclaimed cut an alright promo on their upcoming match with YB. Cutler and Daniels came out and Cutler got beat up by the Acclaimed. Deonna vs Rosa was alright, decent NO DQ match however the ending was really disappointing. Christian cut a good promo in which he kinda said nothing though and the most important thing about this promo was the teasing of a turn from Killswitch. Still a Christian promo in the end so good but this one doesn't stand out. Martin vs. Moriarty was a fine. I like how both Martin and Lio Rush didn't forgot about their past and now I'm interested to see where they go from now. KOR vs. Henry and Hechicero vs. Castle were two filler matches that I could've done without. HOB vs. BCG was a good main event. Unfortunately Buddy got hurt and that killed the flow of the match. They were able to recover and finished the match on a high note. The show ended with The Patriarchy attacking Buddy in what I think was an audible which was great. Overall: main event and the opener were good, Christian had a good promo and the NO DQ was solid but if you skipped this show, you wouldn't have missed much."
[8.0] "The opener was a great match. Followed by okayish womens no-DQ that on paper should've been much better. Hechicero vs Dalton Castle and Kyle vs Anthony Henry were pretty good short matches. I liked the Moriarty vs Dante match and also they are doing something with Lio and Top Flight which is good. House of Black vs Bang Bang Gang was grest until Buddy got injured, which is a shame. The best thing on the show was Christian's segment - it was a great promo he did. Also AEW seems to be building their trios division up as The Patriarchy is going after the trios titles, Death Triangle is back and PAC cost the match for Juice & Ass Boys and they've established HOOK/Joe/Shibata as a trio too... should be fun times ahead."
[5.0] "I expected a lot more from a one year anniversary show and to be honest it just showed how much it has regressed since its early days. Opener was good but everything after that was lacking energy and excitement"
[7.0] "The Acclaimed segment was entertaining when they came out and addressed the fines issued by the EVP's The Young Bucks which then Christopher Daniels came out and informed Acclaimed that Tony Khan had reveresed the fines which I enjoyed watching throughout this segment, Christian Cage segment was okay but made it interesting when he declared himself, Nick Wayne and Killswitch for the Trios Titles. Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta vs Lio Rush, Mikey Nicholls, Rocky Romero & Shane Haste: This opening match was quite solid from all 8 involved, some interesting interactions from Romero and Yuta, Mox and Nicholls, and hope that some of these get the chance to face off again [***3/4]. Deonna Purrazzo vs Thunder Rosa: A great No Disqualification Match, some decent spots, Rosa using a table as a ramp to hit a dropkick on Purrazzo was creative, Rosa passing out to Purrazzo was surprising [***1/4]. Hechicero vs Dalton Castle: A match that did not even last four minutes, but was highly competitve, Hechicero getting the win with a unique looking move was good to see [*1/2]. Dante Martin vs Lee Moriarty: An interesting match of styles of these two, with the technical wrestling of Moriarty and the high flying abilities of Martin, Martin winning was the right choice [***]. Kyle O'Reilly vs Anthony Henry: An okay sub two minute match nothing memorable happened [*]. Brody King, Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black vs Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn & Juice Robinson: This was actually a better match than I thought it was going to be, HOB brought it to the trios champs, Matthews ended up being taken out of the match after hitting a meteora which looked like it injured his knee, BBG did their jobs as champions and put over potential challengers in HOB who in turn won, the interference of PAC made things interesting though [****1/4]"
[4.0] "For a show meant to celebrate the one year of Collision existing, this did not feel like much of a show. The Christian Cage promo was the highlight of the night for me even if it resulted in the declaration of Christian/Killswitch/Nick Wayne going for the trios titles somehow being the direction that will get Christian back after the world title. With how smart Christian is portrayed, why would he not enter himself into the Owen tournament if he wants to get to the world title especially after bringing up the issue with the fall with Strickland at DON? After Christian revived the TNT title, if anyone may be able to fix those trios titles, it is Christian somehow but a bit of an underwhelming direction for one of AEWs must see talents. The Acclaimed segment raised more inconsistency in the terms of power spread among The Young Bucks and Tony Khan because why wouldnt Tony just overrule everything the Bucks did out of line? Largely solid but unspectacular wrestling in the form of the opener and Moriarty/Dante. BCC continues to feel like a shackling of Bryan/Claudio/Moxley who should realistically be much bigger stars for AEW than they feel right now even with Moxley having his New Japan responsibilities. Deonna/Rosa was solid but felt a bit disappointing. I fully expected Anthony/Kyle to get little time with how the Workhorsemen are terribly booked in AEW but it did not make it any less disappointing for what would be a great match on any independent show. The issue with Buddy in the main event took me out of that match completely in what was a bizarre choice to close the show even if Collisions first main event was also a trios match. A bit of a bizarre show to put on as an anniversary show."
