Ein Abend gespickt mit Höhen und Tiefen, wo vor allem das Aufgebot in der Midcard nicht wirklich zum gelben vom Ei zählte und viel austauschbar erschien. In der Pre-Show war das noch zu verkraften, *3/4 um den Dreh im Fall vom Einzelkampf bzw. **1/4. Vom Opener jedoch habe ich mir mehr versprochen, der nämlich hat sich zwischen das Niveau der Pre-Show zuvor noch gesellt und sah hinzukommend eher unmotiviert aus; da besaß das Trios Match im Anschluss mehr Charme, ** im Fall vom Future Titelkampf bzw. **1/2. Das Niveau anschließend bestätigen konnten der High Speed Titelkampf und Shirakawa vs. Tora, **1/2 je ebenfalls. Ich bin da ohne jegliche Erwartungen herangegangen, ich bin zwar wahrlich kein Freund vom Titelwechsel oder Thekla's Beitritt in Oedo Tai, zumindest aber weht daher mal ein frischer Wind in beiden Lagern, weshalb's zusammengerechnet meiner Meinung in Ordnung war. Trotz jedoch nochmal niedriggesteckter Erwartungen untertraf das Stardom-Debüt der alten AJW-Haudegen jene daran angeschlossen, **3/4 bei absteigender Tendenz. Ich war der Sequenzen zwischen Aja Kong und Tam Nakano zwar nicht gänzlich abgeneigt, zum einen unterlag man somit aber Kong's maroder Macken und zum anderen hat man deshalb Kaoru Ito im Jahr 2024 über sich ergehen lassen müssen; Natsupoi ist dagegen komplett verblasst und hat kaum einen Stich gesehen, ein verhaltener Schlusspunkt jener Midcard. Im gleichen Atemzug hat der Goddesses Titelkampf daraus genügend Profit ziehen können und daran anknüpfend mit einem temporeichen Match brillieren können, ***. Ein Weckruf womöglich, obwohl das Triplett an Hauptkämpfen schlicht und ergreifend kaum zu schlechterem fähig gewesen ist; weshalb ich mir alle drei Titelkämpfe mindestens ein Mal im Re-Run gegeben habe und das Theorem daher tatsächlich zu bestätigen weiß, je ***1/2 bei ansteigender Tendenz bzw. ***3/4 im Fall vom offiziellen Hauptkampf. Von sich zu überzeugen wussten alle sechs Damen, mein Highlight war zusammengezählt jedoch der Main Event. Nach 35 Minuten hat sich das kaum angefühlt, stattdessen hat man einem jeden Fall Wertigkeit verliehen und mich so sogar vor dem hauseigenen Bildschirm verzücken können. Nicht unweit entfernt davon spielten sich der IWGP Titelkampf und Semi Main Event ab; im Fall der Titelverteidigung von Mayu Iwatani erwartbar anschaulich, einzig am kaum hörbaren Publikum scheitert's, während der Wonder Titelkampf mich alles in allem ein wenig überraschen tat, das hat Hanan in ihrem Dasein als künftiges Ace nochmal zementiert und ließ mit Saori Anou's unkonventionellem Pin einen potenziellen Rückkampf offen. |

Die Show an sich ist wieder ziemlich gut und und hat mit Sareee vs. Iwatani ein richtig starkes Match sowie mit Anou vs. Hanan ein gutes Match, jedoch habe ich viele nicht gefühlt, was aber durchaus daran liegen kann, dass ich kaum Bindung zum Produkt habe. Die ersten 4 Matches fand ich daher in Ordnung und Mina vs. Tora aufgrund der vielen Eingriffe eher schlecht. Das Tag Team Titel Match ist wieder in Ordnung, besteht für mich aber nur aus Moves. Sareee vs. Mayu wie gesagt, großartig, Anou vs. Hanan gut und der Main Event ordentlich aber zu lang. |

Overall, whenever a wrestling show gives me a MOTY contender and some other good matches, I don't really care about the few underwhelming matches before. |

The High Speed title match was decent, though it suffered from Saki's injury. Saya winning is interesting (5/10). Mina vs Natsuko was very bad. Sloppy, overbooked, dumb ending with Thekla's uninteresting heel turn (1/10). Aja and Ito vs Tam and Poi was surprisingly good, much better than expected. Really liked the story they told (7/10). The four way Goddess title match was fun. Fast paced and a lot of action. Oedo Tai kicked Kitto out of the group after (7.5/10). Mayu vs Sareee for the IWGP Women's Championship was one of the best matches of the year (10/10). The Wonder title match was solid, but it dragged at times and didn't feel like anything important until the last few minutes. Saori retaining was the right move, but Hanan has a bright future ahead of her (6.5/10). The main event for the World title was bloated, it didn't need to be two out of three falls. Maika retains, which again was the right way to go (6.5/10). All-Star Grand Queendom was an inconsistent show. 5/10 |

| 59 | 28.04.2024 | Edge | 8.0 | Nach dem jüngsten Abgängen war ich durchaus gespannt auf diese Card, die im Vorfeld nicht allzu besonders aussah. Es gab einige Matches, auf die ich mich gefreut habe und die meine Erwartungen auch erfüllt und teilweise sogar noch übertroffen haben. Dazu zählt v.a. das fantastische Match zw. Mayu und Sareee, welches eines der besten Women's Matches war, welches ich bisher miterleben durfte. Das war ein ganz starkes Match. Aber auch das Wonder of Stardom Title Match, wo Hanan mMn ihr bis dato bestes Singles Match ihrer Karriere hinlegte, übertraf meine Erwartungen. Der Main Event war auch richtig gut, auch wenn es sich im letzten Abschnitt etwas zog, weswegen das Match für mich nach einem sehr vielversprechenden Beginn nicht ganz an das Wonder of Stardom Title Match herankam. Gut war auch noch der 4-Way um die Goddesses of Stardom Titel. Das Tag Team Match davor war solide. Solide war auch noch das Future of Stardom Title Match, welches angesichts der kurzen Zeit übereugen konnte. Die anderen 3 Matches auf der PPV Card waren maximal passabel. Mit Thekla gab es eine schöne Rückkehr zu sehen. Sie schließt sich Oedo Tai an. Rausgeschmissen sie haben sie dafür später Starlight Kid, die sich nun wohl Cosmic Angles anschließen wird. Das ist eine interessante Entwicklung, die sich zuletzt schon leicht andeutete und vllt. etwas zu früh durchgezogen wurde. Ansonsten habe ich mich noch sehr über den Auftritt von Tsukasa Fujimoto gefreut. Ein Match gegen Mayu ist ein Dream Match für mich und auch wenn es erstmal "nur" ein Tag Team Match wird, so finde ich alleine dieses Match schon fantastisch und wer weiß was sich daraus vllt. doch noch ergeben wird. Für mich war es insgesamt eine echt gute Show und bisher auch die beste Show des Jahres von Stardom. |

The presentation of the wrestlers was great, however, and the show production was strong. The crowd was hit or miss, but overall weak. Stardom's crowd microphones have always been below some other promotions in Japan, so maybe you could chalk it up to that too. I like the direction the company seems to be heading after the show, and I have no real complaints with results, or any story developments going forward. 5.5/10 overall, rounded down. |

But, there were some awesome matches, like the Tag Title 4-way, Kurara vs Rina, Saori vs Hanan and especially Mayu vs Sareee. It was also cool to see Saya win the High Speed belt, and I'm intrigued to see what she can do in that division. There were some other interesting story developments also, with the SLK face turn and Thekla heel turn both having interesting ramifications for Stardom's future. I'm still not sure how I feel about the main event, and can't help but feel it was a missed opportunity to have Momo not win the Red Belt. The main event being so different from a normal Stardom big show main event makes me feel slightly different about this event, especially compared to last year's ASGQ. It was an interesting concept and a cool risk to take with that kind of matches closing the show, but for me it didn't necessarily pay off. I am still excited for the future of Stardom, and especially the future of Maika's reign! |
