[8.0] "Good episode of Raw with great build-ups for SummerSlam. Some matches are very average but the opener and main event made up the show. Some great segments like Dom, Rhea, and Liv and Punk, Drew, and Seth."
[7.0] "the opening angle was great but i still don't like the way they are presenting gunther at the moment. the opener was awesome, hard hitting, stiff and propper wrestling, the ending was also very good, much better than the classic hhh dq. the women's match was fine and contrivertially i don't mind seth as the ref for drew vs punk, i assume it will be similar to summerslam '97. otis was once again very over but it feels like the story is going no where, the wyatts stuff was great tho. the reed vs dunne match never got started, presumably it was so they didn't have to do a dq. the liv vs reah segment was.... very sports entertainment. seemed ridiculous that zelina was cleared while having an arm in a cast. the women's tag division is a joke now. the main event was very over with the crowd"
[8.0] "Great crowd and a show book-ended by 2 very good matches. Bron and Ilja always put on a show together and their physicality jumps through the screen. Zelina got a much better crowd reaction for her match than one would expect given the participants and Zoey Stark is very underrated. Sami and Jey are both in their element in tag wrestling and it's almost impossible for Finn and JD to not have a good match. The non wrestling stuff with Punk and Liv/Rhea was effective and entertaining"
[6.0] "An ok episode of Raw. Starting off with a great opening match. Though tbh with you, I wouldve loved for the IC title match to be a triple threat at SS. I really wonder what Iljas gonna do going forward. Hes too good to be languishing in nothingness. Before this match though, there was a great Damian and Gunther segment. Super excited for this match. And I honestly think Damian has been an incredibly underrated world champion. Definitely surpassed my expectations. A lot of this show was dominated by the Judgement Day and to me thats a good thing because I really love this stable. My favorite segment of which was Liv being lets just say quite suggestive to Dom while he and Rhea were in the ring. I really cant wait for Netflix, man. The PG era is on its death throes. Another segment I enjoyed from this show was Punk and Drews continuing blood feud with Seth becoming the special guest ref for their match. Great work by everyone Involved. Including Pearce. Who I honestly think should be in the discussion for the best RAW GMs of all time. I always love seeing him. Sadly, I think thats everything I thoroughly enjoyed from this show. The rest ranged from fine to boring. I dont think I care much about what The Final Testament is doing. I like the group itself but I dont think theyre being booked particularly well at the moment. They should have something real to sink into rather than trying to recruit Xavier by force? Like why? The Wyatt VHS tape this week wasnt that interesting. I was hoping wed know more about Sister Abigail but not really. Sonya vs Lyra was ok I guess. Gables struggle with the Alpha Academy is fine too. Bronson vs Pete didnt even happen because of Sheamus interference before the match started. Im ngl, I wouldve rather seen that than Xavier & Alpha Academy vs The Final Testament. Overall, its an ok show."
[7.0] "Lots of good wrestling. Raw is currently my favourite weekly since the post-Wrestlemania period. Unlike Smackdown, there are several storylines that can serve as a common thread to the show such as McIntyre/Punk, Dominik/Ripley/Morgan, Alpha Academy/Gable, Zayng/Breakker, Priest/Gunther. Really excellent show and good developments."
[5.0] "Most things in this show were so mid and mediocre. A boring main event, a bad Zelina vs Zoey that didn't make sense to begin with, another Kross vs Woods irrelevant feud match, Lyra Valkyria going into a "don't know what to do with you" limbo, Gunther and Priest trying to recreate the Taker vs Lesnar brawl from 2015, an oversimplified Wyatt Sicks attack segment on Chad Gable. The good points of the show were the confirmation of the Drew vs Punk match at SummerSlam, not the best segment of their great rivalry, but we already had a lot of those, so I'm not mad at that; and the Ilja vs Bron TV banger, despite the shitty finish making Dragunov look so weak against Bron. I get Rollins as the referee for the Drew vs Punk match from an "out of kayfabe" standpoint. This match is going to be an ode to chaos, so having Seth as ref will pour a lot of fuel into the fire and it will build an eventual Triple Threat that could probably happen at WrestleMania, but looking at it from inside the kayfabe, it doesn't fully make sense to me. Why would Adam Pearce allow Seth as the referee knowing he will do anything to mess with both men during the match instead of putting a regular official who will try to keep things under control? It's incongruous, like almost everything Pearce does (thank god Nick Aldis exists). And then, why would Seth accept to be the referee instead of straight fighting both of them? He hates both of them, he is a wrestler and he is cleared to compete. I would understand the decision more if he returned without being fully healed yet, but being 100%, why not fight them? Why instead going after them with that childish attitude? Like I said, out of kayfabe this make all sense as you don't play your best hand yet and you keep building the rivalry, but inside the kayfabe it doesn't. I almost forgot about the Dom-Liv-Rhea segment. Liv broke the internet with her stunning body, Dom killed it with his rant in Spanish (I got dizzy from laughing so hard at that) and this is looking to me like Dom is going to betray Rhea at SummerSlam, with Priest coming right after by the rest of the crew."
[8.0] "I thought this episode of RAW was really good. Breakker Vs Draganov was a very good match and hope they get a IC match against each other. I liked that Zelina Vega picked up a win and progressed the story. I LOVED the CM Punk segment setting up the match with McIntyre and Rollins as the special guest referee. The main event match was very good and fun to watch. Top to bottom a pretty good RAW."
[6.0] "This show was pretty decent, with its two highlights as far as in-ring goes being the opener and closer; Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov delivered an amazing opener as they always do, and the non-finish seems to be setting up a potential triple threat match at SummerSlam between Zayn, Breakker and Dragunov which I can't wait for, and in the main event, Jey and Sami vs. Finn and JD was a fun match that I enjoyed. I missed seeing Jey and Sami together on-screen, and considering that they pinned the World Tag Team Champions, I wonder if they'll do a championship match this Monday. Obviously, they won't win, but it'd be a fun time. As far as segments go, I don't really remember too much to be perfectly honest. I enjoyed the Dominik/Rhea/Liv segment, the storyline is one of my favorites, I'm so invested in it. CM Punk being cleared is the biggest headline of this episode, and he'll be facing McIntyre at SummerSlam with Seth Rollins as guest referee which I also cannot wait for. Other than that, I don't have too many other thoughts. Decent, serviceable episode of Raw that builds pretty well towards SummerSlam."
[5.0] "I enjoyed the matches a bit more than last week's, but the segments were more or less the same and I'm not a fan of most of the stories going on. Overall, a decent but boring episode."
[6.0] "I enjoyed this less than recent weeks. Nothing really important or shocking happened, which is fine, but there wasn't a standout match except for maybe the opener but we've seen that multiple times now and there wasn't a standout promo except for: The only thing I'd recommend people to go back and watch is the Dominik Mysterio promo on Liv Morgan as that was good and was an important advancement of that storyline. This show was carried solely by the energy that we've seen for months now since HHH took over and everyone being over as a result."
[7.0] "Lots of really really strong moments, sandwiched between some absolutely awful segments. That being said, this is one of the best Raws this month. 7/10."
"5 matches on a three hour show, I am not a fed hater but I just need more here. Ilja/Bron was good, the others were OK. The segments otherwise were mostly rehash of previous weeks story with no real advancement. Punk and Drew still hate each other, Gable is afraid of the sicks, Dom is in a love triangle etc etc."
[6.0] "Only two matches I thoroughly enjoyed, the rest were okay, the segments were okay as well. Bron Breakker vs Ilja Dragunov (****). Sonya Deville vs Lyra Valkyria (*3/4). The Final Testament vs Alpha Academy & Xavier Woods (**). Zelina Vega vs Zoey Stark (*3/4). Jey Uso & Sami Zayn vs The Judgement Day (****)"
[7.0] "After two weeks that mostly focused on building up matches and continuing storylines, this show got to shine more with its matches (great opener and fun Main Event tag match), while the stories were more there to simply make matches official or pretty much set them up for Summerslam. This all still made for a very enjoyable episode of Raw. 7/10"
[8.0] "Damien Priest punching GUNTHER in the mouth was exactly the right way to start off this episode of RAW. Their match at SummerSlam once seemed lifeless but is now actually getting a good build to it. This week's Wyatt Sicks video was the first dud for me. It went light on the character work and heavy on the horror, but it felt cheap and unimpressive after the last few really good ones for Bo and Erick Rowan. That said, Uncle Howdy planting a Sister Abigail on Gable was an incredible moment. That segment had a few good aspects, actually. Otis was mid on the microphone but the tease of him fighting Chad Gable was nice. The Creed Bros are growing into their bully roles well. The program between CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre continues to be gold. Seth's glee at being guest referee at SummerSlam was gold, as was the indignant rage of the other two lads. Finn Balor is almost certainly working with Liv Morgan. I'm really looking forward to how he'll end up after the group breaks up. Nice camera work when Sami's promo was interrupted by Judgment Day lackeys beating up Jey Uso. Good on Sheamus to bust up the spot against Pete Dunne and Bronson Reed. Makes perfect sense that he's not going to take the past couple of weeks lying down. Dirty Dom was incredible again as he rejected Liv. Really good work. Liv wasn't too bad herself. This RAW was bookended by two good wrestling matches and had tons of great storytelling and character work. Getting excited for SummerSlam."
[9.0] "Yet another great episode of Raw, they have been absolutely cooking for the past month and is the best weekly WWE show at the moment. It started off with Gunthers fierce promo and Damians attack on him. And then we had a really good match between Ilja & Breakker. The Lyra vs Sonya match was decent as well. The Punk, McIntyre & Rollins segment was top notch once again, and it feels great to hear Punk announce his clearance to fight. The 6-man tag was the low point for me but the segment after was pretty great seeing Uncle Howdy give Gable the Sister Abigail. Rhea, Dom, & Liv just keep putting on really weird but investing storylines now, and this was no exception, I didnt think Dom would let all of that out on Liv like that but it just builds more for SummerSlam. The Zelina match was fine but it was cool seeing her win, and the main event was super fun to watch."
[9.0] "Man, I love Raw right now. It's basically the WWE that I wanted for years before Vince lost the plot and ruined everything. Multiple engaging storylines that actually make use of the huge talented roster at their disposal, good use of stables and factions to further angles and build RELATIONSHIPS between talent. You've got high level feuds like Priest/Gunther, McIntyre/Punk and Liv/Rhea alongside well done midcard stuff like Gable/Alpha Academy/Wyatts, Zayn/Breakker/Ilja and Sheamus/Dunne/Reed. Cole and Pat sound like they're having good fun on commentary. This week there was only one standout match (Breakker/Dragunov) but the other matches were solid and effective. I have other promotions that I watch for top level ring work. I like the work they are doing to build up the women's midcard. The new MMA women faction, Lyra & the KCs joining forces, Zelina Vega's push. There's so much happening on Raw and it's actually hard to skip stuff for probably the first time in Raw's entire history as a three hour TV show."
"Solid episode that felt like it made SS more important with the added punk drew Seth angle. Also, Gunther and priest is actually starting to feel important"
[6.0] "This week's Monday Night Raw was all over the place. The rhythm and flow were out of place. WWE eliminated a match from the usual six-match card and instead inflated the number of promos and backstage segments. 1. The show started slowly with the Gunther/Priest promo. It was a bit awkward, but the brawl made up for it. 2. Ilja vs. Bron was great, but I was not fond of the ending. 3. The Judgement Day appeared over and over in backstage segments. Monday Night Raw was definitely their show last night. 4. Lyra vs. Sonya was okay, but I had enough of the outside interference. Almost every single match is influenced to some degree by outside interference. 5. The CM Punk/Drew/Seth promo was subpar. Punk and Drew had some great back-and-forth in the past few months, but this time, it felt off. Seth tried to save it, but it didn't move the needle too much for me. 6. The 6-man tag team match felt unnecessary. WWE can't find something suitable for Karrion Kross to do. And now, with Chad Gable moving on with The Creed Brothers, I can't see a bright future for the rest of Alpha Academy. 7. Wyatt Sicks surfaced again with a Sister Abigail to Gable by Uncle Howdy... Holly ****! I wiped out a few tears thinking of the late Bray Wyatt/Windham Rotunda. The Wyatt Sicks faction is a beautiful way to honor him and his legacy. It should be highly entertaining in the future. I expected more from this week's introduction with Nikki Cross at the center. I hope we get more of it. I genuinely like it. 8. Bronson Reed, Sheamus, and Pete Dunne can put on a banger in a three-way match, but it seems like it's going in the direction of a Brawling Brutes conflict. I feel bad for Dunne losing his tag team partner. So far, they have had a decent run as the New Catch Republic. 9. Rhea, Dom & Liv's promo was excellent! It was everything I could have wished for from a "three-way" between them. Rhea licking Dom was hilarious! 10. Zelina vs. Zoey brought nothing new to the table. It was another opportunity to highlight the new faction of Baszler, Deville & Stark. It should culminate next week in the 6-woman tag team match. 11. Alba & Isla had a backstage interview, with the above faction interfering while threatening to take the Tag Team Championship away from the Unholy Union. I love Alba & Isla, but they should be in the ring defending their titles. I have a feeling they'll lose the championship at SummerSlam. 12. Gunther had another promo, this time in the form of a video clip. I have a feeling WWE will put the title on him at SummerSlam. 13. The main event was so-so. It felt like we'd seen it too many times in the past. Sami & Jey worked well together, while The Judgement Day members acted in their usual heel-ish manner."
"I still don't know how anyone can watch Raw or Smackdown live but especially the former. Nonstop commercials and plugs during matches. Advertising is way out of control everywhere. Less than 1/3 of the wrestling show is dedicated to wrestling. Also, why are they piping in crowd noise during live shows? That's insane. I've recently rewatched WWE from 2016 and seeing how much better it was than today's product is a little jarring. 8 years is an eternity in wrestling but the second half of 2016 with the hard brand split and separate PLEs aside from the big four is the best WWE has been in quite a long time. What we're seeing now would be seen as a downgrade if viewed concurrently."
"I found the pacing of tonight's show to be very good. A very good start to the show with the GUNTHER and Priest brawl, really selling me their match at SummerSlam to one of my favorite RAW matches of the year in Bron Breakker vs Ijja Dragunov. Hopefully Bron actually beats Sami Zayn this time. He's fantastic and absolutely evolved from the Bron we used to see in NXT, no doubt the partnership with Baron Corbin benefited him A LOT and in my opinion he's absolutely ready for gold. Seth being the referee in Drew/Punk is something i really look forward to, very curious to know what path the WWE will follow after the PPV. Do they have Seth interfering in the match in favour of one of them? Does he get knocked out during the match? . I liked the segment between Punk and Drew and i just hope moving forward they have Pierce having a bit more control over the roster to really sell the stipulation of one man getting suspended if he attacks the other. GUNTHER beating Priest NEEDS TO HAPPEN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, this charity run for Priest needs to end, as much as i praised the fact i'm sold on the match, his title run hasn't interested me in the slightest. I've missed Gunther wrestling every week during his post-King of the Ring hiatus. In hindsight, I agree that King of the Ring should've been the PPV before Summerslam and not MITB. Karrion Kross... please God i don't know what Hunter sees in that guy but he's no doubt one of the worst in ring wrestlers right now, absolute crickets everytime he walks through the curtain and still he keeps taking time away from other wrestlers EVERY SINGLE WEEK, i don't understand why Hunter still tries to get him over when he's been back for nearly two years and still nobody cares about him. Also, as much as i like the concept of the "Wyatt Sicks" i have absolutely ZERO interest in this feud with Chad, i don't know HOW Triple H had him going from being only the third person to beat GUNTHER in WWE, to this absolute nonsense of a feud with the Wyatt Sicks. Bronson Reed can be put alongside Kross as the most underhated wrestler in the company right now, this guy hasn't been interesting ONCE in his career but somehow he keeps getting booked weekly despite just like Kross getting ZERO reaction from the fans in the arena not even when being put face to face with one of the most over guys in Sheamus he get's a mere boo, CRICKETS. Really interested in this Pete Dunne vs Sheamus feud, just give Dunne the ball and let him run with it, I BEG YOU HUNTER. The Liv Morgan/Rhea Ripley/Dominik love triangle storyline however is an embarassment, it honestly overstayed it's welcome and it's tiresome to have the top women's storyline in the company to be about who "gets" Dominik Mysterio, not excited for their match at SummerSlam AT ALL. Liv Morgan in my opinion is not good enough in the ring to be the Champion and the fact her entire identity right now is to be a sex object doesn't help it at all. The Zelina vs Zoey match was ok at best, not really interested in that. NOW how many MORE Sami Zayn and partner vs Judgment Day main event tag match DOES THIS COMPANY NEED? ! ? ! Is that an indication Sami Zayn is losing the title and they're preparing his next feud? or let me correct, are they really going back to the feud that main event RAW for half a year? ! ? !"
[9.0] "Fairly enjoyable show from top to bottom started off hot and ended off hot I enjoyed the opener match with Bron Breakker vs. Ilja Dragunov, we had a decent 6-Man Tag Team Match then we got to see Uncle Howdy hit the Sister Abigail which was a very cool moment. Dominik Mysterio finally puts a end to Liv Morgan tricks and finally gets Rhea Ripley full on trust back for now and the main event match was a fun tag team bout it reminded me of 2023 RAW Main Events just straight fun tag team bouts. Overall fun show."
[9.0] "I really like RAW right now. I don't think thats a particularly controversial thing to say? Ever since the draft RAW has sort of transformed itself into this living breathing entity of a show where everyone on it can interact and will get involved in each others shit if the story necessitates it. This makes the 3 hours feel like an absolute breeze. I think this weeks show was a perfect example of this. Sure some workrate purists won't like that there were only two lengthy matches on the show, but even the smaller matches felt stronger than usual this week due to a very hot crowd. theres a lot to love here, pretty much every summerslam feud was ramped up a significant amount here. People were clowning on Priest/Gunther but now the build is red hot and Priest is finally getting into his own as a face and Gunther is finally getting real heat as a heel. Chad Gable and Otis also continue to be a delight and its great that they didn't drop their feud for the Wyatt stuff (which I also find very strong). And what can I say about the Liv/Rhea/Dom story. Its hot, both literally and metaphorically with the crowd holding on to every moment with bated breath. This weeks segment being the strongest yet with Dom finally showing some agency. This show also had a 20 minute Bron Breakker vs Ilja Dragunov match on top of all of this. It feels like we're getting spoiled. I don't know how Smackdown is booked by the same people"
[6.0] "40 minutes of wrestling on a 3 hour show. I found the pacing of tonight's show to be particularly hard to watch. The show started incredibly strong with one of my favorite RAW matches of the year in Bron vs Ijja. Hopefully Bron actually beats Sami this time around. He's fantastic and absolutely ready for gold. The rest of the show however...the Liv Morgan/Rhea Ripley storyline is an embarassment. Honestly, it's insulting as a viewer and a fan of women's wrestling. THIS is the top women's storyline in the biggest wrestling company in the world in 2024 (and how the top women's stars are being used). The worst part is, it has a completely predictable ending coming at Summerslam (with Dom turning on Rhea), which means it hasn't even been effective. It's embarassing to watch the storyline for the women's championship feature 0 wrestling and be based solely on sex appeal. Liv Morgan is the Champion and yet her entire identity as Champion is as a sex object. THIS IS 2024, not the Attitude Era. I'm clearly in the minority, but that's not what I want from my wrestling. There are other (better) forms of media to watch if that's what I wanted. Also Seth being the referee in Drew/Punk doesn't interest me. I thought the segment tonight was good, but Punk/Drew doesn't need Seth's involvement. It's already a blood feud. Save Seth/Punk for a later date and build a different story. Drew deserves this match not being overshadowed by ref shenanigans after he lost the title in his hometown. Gunther beating Priest can't come a moment too soon. I've missed Gunther wrestling every week during his post-King of the Ring hiatus. In hindsight, King of the Ring should've been the PLE before Summerslam (not MITB). Also, how many iterations of the Sami Zayn and partner vs Judgment Day main event tag match must we be subjected to?"
[8.0] "The whole show had something. Introducing new elements to Liv/Rhea storyline and adding Seth to the Punk/Drew match are the biggest takeaways for the show, Hunter really needs to think about the main event for SummerSlam because Punk/Drew is good enough to headline. Yes there were a few mistakes, but there's always mistakes in wrestling, like why are Sonya, Shayna and Zoey together? Why should we support Katana and Kayden when they haven't won in months?"
[7.0] "A really good episode this week. The opener and the main event were truly great matches, and Sonya vs. Lyra was also a nice match. Among the segments, the most noteworthy were definitely the one between Liv, Dom, and Rhea, which was fantastic, and the one between Chad and the Alpha Academy. Talking about what I didn't like, firstly, Sonya's new group has piqued my interest, but I want to hear them talk. Why does this group exist? I would appreciate a new narrative that isn't the usual 'We will dominate the women's division.' And above all, I didn't understand the point of making Seth the referee. There wasn't enough build-up for him to take on that role since he will get the match against Priest (if he wins after Summerslam). This didn't convince me at all. Very good episode, I recommend watching it."
