[8.0] "Yeah this match ruled. Axiom really killed it here with both his offense and his bumping, that first German looked excellent and the finish was so damn good with JD basically winning by gravity more than anything. Hell of a discus lariat for a nearfall in the middle too. This might be the ceiling of non-title Speed matches. ***3/4+"
[7.0] "In my opinion, this was the best match in the tournament so far. The two did some cool high flying flashy moves, but the moves served their purpose and the two sold for each other well. Both men looked good in the finish, where JD headbutted Axiom and fell on him for the win."
[6.0] "I guess its an alright match with a cool finish. Im not really a huge fan of either of these guys so I wasnt that invested. Idk why this show has only one match btw. They couldnt squeeze in another one?"
[7.0] "Good match, I like when highflyers show their skills to fly on the ring, I think Axiom should've win it, but it was fine, I like when WWE presents new championships, and this speed championship and the new NXT Women's North American Championship, look really good for me so that's why I give this a 7/10"
[3.0] "I don't know how to rate this one, as it was only 3 minutes, there wasn't enough action to rate properly, they need to re run this match but without the 3 minute limit maybe on RAW or NXT, there could have been a couple of matches, as this felt a bit pointless to be honest"
[6.0] "Like I said before, the concept of this is kinda cool but having it at three minutes only dont give them enough time to really get going they shouldve kept it at the original time which was five minutes. But JD McDonagh vs Axiom wasnt bad it started to pick up towards the end but JD McDonagh got the victory and advance in the tournament."
"I won't rate this or any of the Speed matches as it appears. First and foremost: The match is ineligible for the matchguide and this is a single match show. What's the point? And then, I don't know what there is deserving more than a 2 or 3. Imho, it's hard to buy Axiom losing only in 2:26 to JD. You could sell the angle over something like 'JD has more in-ring experience yada yada' (if you find enough time to narrate it) but then Axiom is your newly crowned champion. A tournament that is exclusive to X sounds off to begin with but I can admit the idea is somewhat unique and fresh, 3 minutes is just not enough. What is this? Wrestling for adhd youth who zaps between X-Tiktok and Youtube? You can justify some of the squash matches with more dominant forces like Bronson Reed and it could be interesting to see a clash of styles but these type of cruiserweight matches don't click with me. It's high octane but ends up being a spotfest and the mistakes the performers do are just the usual stuff that would have been kicked out on any show other than Speed. Match length leaves little room to be creative about it and honestly, I feel negative about crowning a champion too. Feels like a prop. Make it 5 min for a regular match and 7 min for the finals and then we might talk. Time limit is good when you know how to work around it."
[6.0] "Giving this is a format of very short matches, I think it would be good if they can do at least 2 or 3 matches per week instead of just 1, but maybe they want to make the tournament last for a month or so. But after the tournament is finished, they should consider do more matches and increase the time limit to at least 5 minutes. Also, entrances and a more elaborated presentation would be great. Speaking about the match, since both JD and Axiom are cruiserweights the match was more on the line of the inaugural Dragon Lee vs Ricochet, with both wrestlers going from 0 to 100 since the very beginning and looking for big moves at any chance they got, which is the logical thing to do with the time given. Nice detail to increase the sense of urgency that the matches that end in a draw mean both wrestlers are eliminated from the tournament. Only thing I didn't like about the match was JD winning with the headbutt and not his finisher. I think that makes Axiom look bad. I also find so funny how JD is basically a jobber in the main roster and here he was able to beat in less than 3 minutes the new NXT Tag Team Champion, but that's just a matter of hierarchy. *** for the match."
[6.0] "An okay episode of Speed. Some of the cuts in the action/transition graphics make me question whether this match was even completed within the three minute time period. I also still struggle with the point of a Speed champion is. Assume Ricochet wins the championship and he has a match against Bronson Reed and neither man is able to win in 3 minutes. Is it a no contest? If so, it just makes the title seem like a poorly thought out WCW TV championship. I think WWE wants this to be like Blitz Chess. It needs to do more to make it come off that way."
[5.0] "An episode similar to last week's. Another part of the ongoing tournament. I still miss the sound effects, graphics, intro, announcements and entrances, but I won't lower the rating twice for the same thing. After a good fight, JD McDonagh defeats Axiom and advances to the semi-finals of the tournament. JD McDonagh is not the favorite in this tournament, but I am rooting for him and I would like him to be the first WWE Speed Champion. It's a pity that we only got one match and not two like last week. I hope that next week there will be more emotions and two of matches will be on one week's schedule, but I doubt WWE will do that. To sum up: 5/10 again and I'm counting on a little more next week."
