WWE was completely on fire leading up to the summer, giving consistent B-level shows over and over again. Cody/AJ II - ****1/4, Women's Tag - ***, Sami/Gable - ****1/4, Bayley/Piper - ***1/2, Priest/Drew - ****1/4."

The only disappointing thing was the match between Cody and AJ, which was boring in my opinion. but the match between Bayley and Piper even pleased me in a way. overall it was a good show"

Overall WWE Clash At The Castle (2024), although below (2022), is a fantastic show and it still helped put the World in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)."

[9.0] "I'm pleased to say I was able to attend Clash at the Castle '24 in person, as I did the first 'Clash' in Wales in 2022, and it didn't disappoint! With a typically-HHH scaled down card of just five matches (with a whopping 5 titles on the line, so every match really meant something! ), the event breezed by and never failed to entertain at any moment despite, once again, Drew McIntyre unfortunately failing to capture Damian Priest's World Heavyweight Championship in an exciting main event -- with an ending that has to be seen to be believed! The Cody/AJ "I Quit" WWE Undisputed Championship match also served as an excellent opener, with the very welcome return of blood on the part of both men, reminiscent of WWE's lauded "Ruthless Aggression" era. There was also a great feel-good ending for the Scottish crowd to the Women's Tag Team Championship match, which was really fun to be able to witness live. Overall Clash at the Castle 2024 delivered in spades, perhaps not quite at the dizzy heights of the inaugural "Clash" in Wales match-quality-wise, but this was still an excellent international showing from WWE. Highly recommend and a definite 10/10, despite my obvious bias for having attended! If I hadn't been there, I would still give this event an eight or nine out of ten. Another fantastic HHH-era extravaganza! Hoping WWE returns once more to these shores in the not-too-distant future...! **********"

The worst match is Bayley vs Piper Niven , it was a okay match but was kind of sloppy , it was interesting to see the crowd split. Bayley was good but she was working worse than usual , and Piper was okay but need more polishing. Match ratings: Cody vs AJ 8/10 , Women's triple threat tag 7/10, Sami vs Chad 7/10, Bayley vs Niven 5/10 , Damien vs Drew 7/10."

Lukeathon wrote on 12.08.2024:
[6.0] "Another WWE PLE goes by and I'm left with the same feeling as after both King and Queen of The Ring and Backlash, 5 Matches is not enough. However with this show I'm left feeling something that I haven't felt since Triple H took over as head booker, that feeling being my faith in WWE Waning. I'll detail why as this goes on. Clash at The Castle had another electric crowd, to be fair to Saudi Arabia even, all the PLE Crowds this year have been really good, less said about the TV Crowds the better. This is also the first PLE in the UK I haven't attended since 2003 (when I was born) and that's mainly because of the extortionate ticket prices, for those prices you'd hope the show ends on a happy note. We kicked things off with the second instalment of Cody vs AJ Styles, I think their first match was amazing, and while the build up to this second "I Quit" match hasn't made this a blood feud, I was still very intrigued to see how this would play out and I do honestly think they lived up to expectations, the spots with blood drawing didn't really work and obviously Mama Rhodes' slaps were less than convincing, but I thought AJ did great in his role of wanting 1 final title run, the finish was fine but also stolen from John Cena, as was AJ's fake retirement, this didn't feel like a half hour and that's a good thing, would have loved if that bag contained thumb tacks. (4.5/5). We followed that up with the Womens Tag Title Triple Threat, I had no idea about Alba's mum before going into this and I'm beyond sorry for her loss. This match was fun, innovative offense from the 3 teams, Jade and Bianca's double team moves are really cool, Jade's botch stands out in this match but she recovered well. I was very glad for Dawn and Fyre having the crowd behind them for the first time on the main roster, that must have been a great feeling. The finish was good, worked to keep Jade protected and was unpredictable. (3.5/5). Next up was Zayn vs Gable, After their post Wrestlemania matchup I was really looking forward to this, especially with the underlying Gable and Creed alliance that I was hoping would come to fruition here. Or something to break Chad and Otis up, or something. ANYTHING. but no, no story progression again with Otis and Gable, Gable looks like a fool while losing and Sami comes across as a lucky champion, this was just meh in complete honesty. In terms of in ring action it was good but nothing I would ever choose to watch again for that ending alone. (2.5/5). We followed that up with Piper Niven against Bayley, both completely over in Scotland which is great to see! This was pretty good action, Piper made the Rose Plant actually look really good! Bayley's show of respect after the match was nice to see and Chelsea Green was phenomenal with her interference, give her her flowers WWE! I was pleasantly surprised when they gave Piper the singles nod and thankfully she showed just how good she can be if given the right story and time. To me she is a much better Nia Jax. (3.5/5). It's Main Event Time! Drew McIntyre (still not with Broken Dreams) against Damian Priest without the Judgement Day. No Surprise that CM Punk interfered here and it was shot in a really great way. But my god it was not the way to send this crowd home to, Priest getting his leg caught was scary but overall the in ring action was fine, in hindsight with what happened at Money In The Bank it puts a dampener on this match as well as this CM Punk vs Drew Storyline has for some reason been intertwined with most of Priest's title reign, give the guy his own Judgement Day story! (3/5). A lot of stories in WWE just take forever for any real movement to happen with them and it's the same stuff week after week for select wrestlers. I mean look at Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell, they faced Maxine Dupri and Ivy Nile what must have been 50 times since Wrestlemania. Just give us some fresh things! Some long term stories are good, but having everything play out over months is just tedious and unneeded. Overall this booking is affecting my enjoyment of the PLE's now as well, since Backlash it's been let down after let down and Clash at The Castle is no exception. This show gets a 6 out of 10 from me and if I were to review it in a years time I might even go lower."

Sami and Chad confirmed to be so well linked in the ring, although the Academy's story is becoming too repetitive. Bayley vs Piper was mediocre and was there and not at SmackDown only because of Piper's nationality. The Main Event was sooo good, with an excellent ending, even though was a lot predictable. I enjoyed this PLE but it did not reach Backlash for me."

All of that, especially when it happens on one show, just isn't something that I'm interested in on a consistent basis. McIntyre and Rhodes were two best performers and biggest stars on the show, but Rhodes didn't need to pass out in the middle of his match and McIntyre could've been booked stronger before getting screwed by CM Punk imo."

These shows feel like house shows, Piper Niven and Fyre & Dawn get booked into these matches out of nowhere, just because the Scotland show is around the corner. Cody Rhodes didn't have one hot feud since his title win, it's really underwhelming, they don't take any risks. The main event booking is not good at all, very predictable stuff. Overall still satisfactory because of the match quality, but the 5 match concept with overseas B PPVs is getting stale already."

Cody and AJ was very solid and truly seems like the end of that feud and the same can be said for Sami/Gable. The two women's matches were pretty mediocre even though the fans really popped for the Fyre/Dawn win and rightfully so. The main event was also really good with both guys putting on a great performance and the finish really adding fuel to the fire for hopefully the biggest match at Summerslam. Solid 4 star card."

[6.0] "Was Clash At The Castle Scotland a good show? Yes. Was it memorable? No. I had hopes that this show would be better than Backlash, but both the matches and the French crowd were better, which is no demerit to the always very good British crowd. Cody vs. AJ: best match of the night, Cody busted open was really cool to see along with the post match attack that doesn't leave him looking like a fool, but their first match in France was superior (****). Tag belts: The match was going surprisingly well, until Jade Cargill's bizarre botches (send this woman to NXT), who was clearly nervous and ended up really damaging the match, a surprising but anticlimactic result (**3/4) . Sami vs. Chad: review on matchguide (***1/4). Bayley vs. Piper: dullest match of the night (**1/2). Priest vs. Drew: my biggest disappointment with this match was that they didn't play Broken Dreams, but as much as I wanted to see Drew win at home, it makes a lot of sense that he was robbed once again in his big moment and had a mental breakdown leaving the even more interesting feud against CM Punk, plus it wouldn't make sense for him to win to drop Gunther at SummerSlam (***3/4)"

[5.0] "Overall, the match selection seems a bit unfortunate to me, because all the champions are still pretty close to the beginning of their reigns, so you can't really expect any title changes. This of course takes a lot of tension out of the whole show at crucial points, so that there is hardly any real excitement. The renewed concession of the women's titles becomes rather routine in this context, as this was already done identically in France at Backlash. However, none of this should detract from the performances in the ring, because with the exception of the aforementioned tag team match, there is not much to criticize in terms of craftsmanship. As a pastime, the show is pretty okay, but in terms of exceptional quality or new story developments, it's certainly not a big hit."

[8.0] "A solid show in terms of action, with a few divisive booking decisions. The I Quit match between Talent Name, er, Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles was easily the best of the night, with its only real possible flaw being the way the finish played out, which I actually didn't mind much but others have taken issue with. The main event was also quite good; probably among Priest's best matches to date, but the finish is definitely even more controversial - having Punk cost Drew the match was, based on the ongoing story, not at all unexpected, but seeing their hometown guy lose like that certainly wasn't popular with the live crowd, and seems like a result with the potential to have "killed the town" - we'll have to see what happens when WWE goes back to Scotland. Zayn vs Gable was also quite good, and both the Women's Title and three-way for the Women's Tag were fine, with the latter at least allowing two homeland talents to get a win. With all the commercial breaks, you'd think they could've taken a few minutes at some point to tighten up that top rope that caused issues for both Jade Cargill and Damien Priest (and the ref could even be seen pointing it out to Styles during the entrances for the opener! ). Overall a very solid show with no bad matches."

Mid Women's Tag Title match, which saw Alba & Isla win the championship. After that, there was a really mediocre mid card match for the IC title. Sami is one of the most boring & stale characters right now. After that, there was an okay Women's title match, but it felt like it could've been on SmackDown instead of a PLE. Then, a good main event between Damian & Drew. Loved how Punk came to ruin that match for Drew. All around good show. (8/10)"

"An overall solid show. Cody Vs AJ was good but personally I thought was a little underwhelming, thats just me though. The tag triple threat was fine, there were many botches but looking past that the match was alright and it was a great feel good moment seeing the Unholy Union be crowned new champs in their hometown. Sami Vs Gable was great as always, although it was slightly overbooked, the story telling was phenomenal, I just wish they would have pulled the trigger on Otis turning on Gable right then and there. Bayley vs Piper was much better than I expected and to me proved that Piper Niven should be up there in the main event scene. Bayley put on a great match as well. The main event, Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest delivered on all aspects and Damian Priest has proved that hes more than just a transitional champion with that performance. Even though he injured his foot early on with that nasty tope botch, he still managed to put on a fantastic match. McIntyre should also get his praises for helping Priest finish the match as well as checking on him when the botch initially happened, also, it must have been hard having to lose a world championship match in your home country for a SECOND time, kudos to Drew for agreeing to that because he really helped elevate Damian with it. I cant forget the man of the hour, CM Punk interfering and costing McIntyre. Everybody and their mom knew Punk was gonna intervene in the match, but that was one of the most unique ways Ive ever scene. Cody Vs AJ was definitely the best of the night but had weird moments such as why did Cody's mom need to be involved? why did AJ wake Cody up then get the handcuffs and finally the ending that left AJ looking like an idiot by quitting once steel steps were involved which didn't fit AJ as a character and felt like Super Cena type moment, 3.5/5. Alba and Isla VS Jade and Bianca VS Shayna and Zoey was another women's tag match that didn't mean much and Jade failing to properly do a springboard and getting tapping to shayna were more notable then Alba and Isla winning, 2/10. Gable and Sami felt very long and boring as I feel like they have had this story going on too long as this is there 4th singles match together recently and had I get this was meant to further Alpha Academy breaking up but Chad looked stupid for using the same strat of having AA cheating for him just for them to not do it and this is like the 2nd or 3rd time this has cost him, 2.5/5. Bayley vs Niven was exactly as pointless as it seemed, with Piper only getting a shot because they are in Scotland and it is weird that Piper went from not wrestle/jobber to world title shot, 1/5. And then the main event that made it impossible for WWE to go back to Scotland that although decent, included Priest almost breaking his leg and other than that nothing else special except Punk screwing Mcintyre and pissing off a whole country, and I get they are building for Punk and Drew but Punk can barley wrestle anymore as if he moved any slower he would not be moving and not to mention Drew and Priest had a lot less star power and importance than Drew VS Roman as Damian as been a boring and less than impressive champion who I believe never should have had the belt has his matches are eh and his promos are stale, generic and boring, 3.5/5. Overall a predictable and boring show which is the 3rd of these stale shows in a row (thanks paul) and I wouldn't recommend this show and you should just watch the first one if you haven't already"

Predictable isn't always bad but WWE saves major title changes for big events in the last few years and everyone and their mother saw Punk costing Drew the match. That's twice now he's lost a title match he should've won in the U.K. Are we sure Vince is 100% gone? The match quality was good but the predictability killed the suspense. Someone else noted the crowd trying to entertain themselves instead of being truly engaged with what's happening in the ring. This is going to be how it is from now on. Triple H doesn't always hit the mark and at times appears to make decisions in the same way Vince might have. [9.0] "An excellent opener, with a mix of arena brawling, beautiful spots and the violence of an I Quit Match. The finale may come as a surprise, but I found it credible and original (8/10). The new Bloodline's angle of attack at the end of the match sows the seeds for what's to come and doesn't give Rhodes a moment's peace. Not to mention Orton's little look at the belt. (+0.5) The women's tag match was well-paced, with Jade and Bianca rolling over their opponents at the start of the match. Jade's botch and Isla Dawn's somewhat bland performance are worth mentioning, but the surprise created by the final result and the good sequences are enough to make this a very good match given the context (8/10). Pop a little weak for the Scottish girls, however. The Gable/Zayn rivalry once again produced a very fine confrontation. The overbooking around Otis and Maxine was well delivered and solidly built up over several weeks. In the ring, it's as good as ever between these two technicians, even if the overbooking may have overshadowed their talents at times. Gable's stunt on Maxine is a little overdone, but the whole is still good, especially given the intensity of the rivalry and the stakes of the belt. (9/10) The clash between Piper Niven and Bayley was the only average match of the evening. Both wrestlers have their qualities, but I found the sequences rather mediocre and the end of the match a little disappointing. Piper's lack of credibility greatly detracts from the suspense. And her Scottish status didn't really catch on with the audience (6/10). Finally, the main event lived up to all its promises, delivering a very good match between two powerful and mobile fighters. The scare over Priest's leg added a hint of drama that didn't hurt the match, while the finish and Punk's arrival (+1) brought this PLE to an end on a climax that was regrettable for the crowd, but which perfectly fed the intensity of the rivalry between Punk and Drew (10/10). Quality of matches (3.25/4) Quality of angles (1.5/2) Bonus/malus: nice atmosphere... without being on the level of Backlash :) : +0.5 Total: 9/10"

Crowd reaction is also very good for the most part. 4 out of 5 matches delivered for the most part. But we've got no viable challengers and the finishes are rarely in question. These ple's feel like the old UK-only ppv's wwe did. Solid matches but the outcomes are not in question. AJ Styles is not a viable contender for Cody (and I have to mention the absolutely ridiculous idea of not winning an "I Quit" match with a knockout because the opponent can't say the words). The woman's tag is an afterthought anyway and the less said about it the better. Gable is kindoff a treat to Sami and that's probably why I enjoyed that match the most, though the whole gimmick and story is too cartoonish. Niven wasn't a viable contender (and the crowd didn't give her a hometown reaction, very little reaction at all). Damian Priest is such a weak champion that he feels like he's so far beneath his opponent that it's just not an interesting match and the finish, even though he won, exemplified even more how weak he is. Despite how harsh I may seem, I did have fun with this show and aside from the tag match (which I recommend everyone to skip entirely) the matches were good."

The Womens tag team match was pretty good but it was great and wholesome seeing the Unholy Union have their moment in their home crowd, especially mentioning what Alba has gone through the past few weeks. The IC title match was fun but I wished it progressed more of the storyline with Otis turning on Chad. Slow burn action with a lot of back and fort and great counters. Also good progress on the Alpha Academy story (8/10) Bayley/Piper was an alright title defense. Had a bit much Chelsea interference for my liking and I didn't fully get into it but was alright (6/10) Priest/McIntyre was pretty good despite the scary spot where Damien gets tangled in the ropes. I'm not a fan of rerunning the same match from one PPV to the next but Cody and AJ are pros and can create original matches. The highlight for me was Chelsea Green. Also having a show in Scotland and loading it with hometown wrestlers only last for so long."

In a themed event in Scotland where McIntyre's redemption was expected, it turned out to be a night of bad luck for the Scots. The botches unfortunately stole the spotlight for Cargill and Damian Priest. Despite this, it was a decent PPV with no match truly disappointing and even some very good matches, like the opener and the main event. It was a solid three-hour show that managed to stay engaging and not tedious throughout."

I also understand that there's long term plans for both Drew and (probably) Gable, but seeing them lose was still disappointing and it helped make this show feel unimportant in the grand scheme of things. After we have the IC championship very good rivalry and good itensity, very good spots from two great athletes and a rivalry that will maybe end in summerslam where i hope Gable will have the tittle but win from Zayn pretty logical. [7.0] "This was a mostly solid show with some remarkable imperfections in every match. Before I start reviewing them, I have to say PPV's need to stop being just 5 matches. IC Title match didn't need that much time, Women's Tag Titles could've also been shorter, and they could've save themselves that Jey Uso vignette and put another match, maybe DIY vs A-Town Down Under, or do a Triple Threat of Breakker, Dragunov and Ricochet. Anyways, dual branded PPV need more matches. Now let's get to the matches. AJ vs Cody was MOTN. AJ carried the match and did an amazing heel work, he put Cody over as the top face of the company, we had aggression, the storytelling was on point and it wasn't dull at any moment. The blading job was quite bad and didn't add nothing to the match, and the match had a very short ceiling due to a poor feud build-up. Women's Tag titles match was worst match of the night, saved in most part due to non-stopping action, but there was a lot of sloppiness and dullness. Jade Cargill had her worst performance in WWE yet. Botchy, lost, not even that good on offensive situations. I don't understand the result that much given that Jade on singles action would look worse, but I'm so happy for the Unholy Union. IC Title match featured the best in-ring work of the night, but the storytelling was so overbooked and it didn't add anything new to the angle. Piper vs Bayley would've been a pretty good TV main event, in a PPV is just a good midcard match. Piper milked her chance really good and I think she should be considered for being a future solid contender for the title, and Chelsea was funny as usual. The main event was a very good heavyweight clash, with good selling and pretty good psychology from both men, but the constant finisher kickout without a true powerful reason behind it and CM Punk conveniently disguising himself as a referee (cool moment screwing Drew in his country nonetheless) made me not giving it an 8 at least. At some times, WWE doesn't care enough to make their stories and matches be better than they end up being, at others they try way too much and that affects the quality. Those and the fact there wasn't a truly interesting story in this PPV are my main issues, but the show is still quite solid and features good wrestling."

He absolutely should have won at mania (wasn't even in the match was basically a coach) now he gets a ANOTHER title shot and its overbooked again. If the ppv is not named WrestleMania the booker clearly doesn't care about making fans happy. I'm watching wrestling because I love it weekly not to only care about this during 2 nights of the year. Not every angle needs to be a year long. The Bloodline cannot be replicated and even that ran it's course."

Of The Night Award bekommt (*****). Starting off the show with the WWE championship I Quit match is ridiculous but such a cool way to kick things off. These two had a pretty good match. The brainbuster on the announce table, Cody throwing a chair at AJ which lead to him going through a table on the outside, AJ bringing out a small little bag that everyone (including me) assumed would be thumbtacks. You can imagine the boos when it turned out that it just contained handcuffs. Speaking on the Scottish crowd briefly. They really brought out the heat tonight. It might not have been as strong as the French crowd but these international PLEs have really illustrated how BORING the US crowds are. Hell, even Canada are rowdy. You know, a lot of people hate the ending of this match. I didnt think AJ looked weak at all. After going through all the torture he went through, the steel steps would be the last thing he wanted to experience. Mick Foley experienced a dozen chair shots to the head by The Rock and he technically didnt quit. But AJ isnt Mick Foley so lol. Then weve got the womens tag team title match. Im gonna be honest with you. I dont give a shit about this title. Neither does the company apparently. Cause they didnt do enough to elevate it or justify its existence. There arent enough good womens tag teams on the main roster. And it was showcased by how botchy this match was. A lot of cool spots for sure, but it felt like everyone was out of sync with each other. Jade has ended up appearing worse after this ended. Im happy the hometown heroes won but yeah I just dont care about this match. The Zayn/Gable match may just be match of the night. Absolutely amazing stuff. Two workhorses putting on a great show. I love the storytelling too. The Alpha Academy cult storyline is genuinely compelling. The pop Otis will get when he finally turns will be MONSTROUS. Got a bright future ahead of him. Idk about Maxxine though. Doesnt strike me as someone with as bright of a future lol. Gable is such a fantastic heel btw. Truly this generations Kurt Angle. The womens title match was fine. Idk what else to say tbh. It did its job, the champion vs the hometown hero, and thats it. The main event was a good fun match. The Damian Priest rope botch was quite entertaining tbh. I thought the people involved improvised well with that one. A lot of close calls as well. I really thought Drew was gonna win in some spots. Then lets talk about this amazing ending. Punk with the ULTIMATE troll. I didnt see it coming and I popped so fucking hard. The inevitable match between these two is gonna be absolutely insane. The hype is real. Multiple overbooked matches that focused more on WWE's bad storytelling than the matches themselves, which is a massive weakness when it comes to these shows. The Intercontinental match was unwatchable slop, with Maxine's awful acting and the cornball Otis storyline leading to a bunch of silly melodrama. Same for Bayley vs Niven, with mediocre but acceptable action being the backdrop for the unfunny Chelsea Green nonsense. Cody & AJ Styles worked hard, but WWE "I Quit" matches are always hurt badly by the totally unsubtle application of the stipulation. These matches never feel like violent blowoffs, but rather typical WWE walk & brawl's with the intrusion of the referee asking the guys if they want to quit every 2 or 3 minutes. The women's tag team match was a bad night for Jade Cargill, who never improves, and at this point might be going backwards. I can't call this a bad show, the work was solid enough in the opener and main event, but I can't call it a good one either. Yet another wholly mediocre Levesque PPV."

It felt very by the numbers and there was never any doubt as to who would win. Ending with a threat to smash the steps into AJ, when he could still defend himself as he had just one arm handcuffed was anticlimactic, and then he still got hit with them. Cody's mom being there amounted to little more than a distraction to let Cody blade. The women's tag was...very much not good at all. Multiple botches and just killing any semblance of flow really sank this one. Even Biance hit a poor 450 where she smashed her knees into Shayna's back. Jade was once again the main offender here. She has an incredible look but is just not ready for this sort of level of match. Visually tapping, not being in position, poor footwork, etc. If anyone needs NXT, it's her. They are just doing a disservice to her at this point. She might just not get it at there are women that have been in the business less than a year that can put on more competent matches that she can. And while I am incredibly happy for the winners, the fact that WWE has done NOTHING to build them (their last win was last year I believe) just shows how poorly planned out the women's tag picture is in this company. The IC match had flashes of really good stuff but got slowed down with all this outside stuff with Otis and Maxxine. Why Gable and Zayne couldn't just put on a banger I don't understand. Just too much start and stop with this one. Women's title match was fine and at least kept the shenanigans to a minimum. I didn't see what the point of Chelsea was for this but at least it didn't really affect much. The main event was absolutely great and showed just how good these two can be; it had everything I could hope to see in a match with Drew and Damian. Unfortunately, it had one of the dumbest and most infuriating finishes I could imagine which means all that good will was wasted. Worse, this just takes away from the Priest reign as EVERYONE is just talking about Punk. It's a disservice to Damian Priest. However, there were many spots that were quite violent and "insane, " fitting the stipulation and doing both talents justice. The storytelling was great, with AJ talking about the hit Mama Rhodes with a chair, along with Cody and AJ going all around Gorilla and the scene. Still, a fantastic match where seeds were planted. Match 2: Glad Alba and Isla got their shine in their hometown. A lot of weird spots and botches ruined the momentum of all talents, with Jade almost spiking herself into the mat trying to do a springboard cross-body. However, it is an overall solid match and a match to let these women shine with equal time allotments for all. Match 3: Cinema. Absolute cinema. This is where Chad Gable goes with the Creed Brothers. If there is a Chad Gabel vs Sami Zayn 3, it might be better than this match and the one in Saudi Arabia. The storytelling made this feel like a telenovela, with Maxinne and Otis' chemistry off the charts with storytelling. Match 4: Another solid match. Piper and Bayley was a fun match. The lack of in-ring-work was helped by Chelsea Green dressing up as WWE's certified deadbeat dad and acting like she was a completely different person, never being thrown out. Bayley was a landslide bet to win, and she did. Nothing really special. Main event: I love this Drew and Punk feud. I don't have many words for this as it went on like how everyone expected. If I was to get a ticket to Clash this weekend - and when the news dropped in April, I was keen to - I would've had to shell out £300 for a ticket in the back of the Hydro, and that's not counting the travel costs, because WWE is really keen as of late to pull the rug on anyone and everything. Even the good matches tonight were, essentially, rehashes of matches we saw at either Backlash or KQOTR. And then there's the main event. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. When Unholy Union won earlier in the night to pop the homecrowd, I started to get worried about the main event, because I was hoping that, surely, they wouldn't geek out Drew twice in two years in his home country. But they did. And for what? To get Punk and Drew out of the world title scene so Gunther can have his run at the top come Berlin? Smart minds had put Triple H on Fraud Watch after WrestleMania last year, with some more people joining after the mess that was SummerSlam. Hopefully, after today, the mystique of the Booker of the Year (TM) has been finally shattered, because the terrible booking absolutely ruined what would've been, in isolation, a rather enjoyable show."

The opener was a banger, the main event was a banger and the botch made this only a lot better (hoping that Damien isn't injuried) and the Match of the night for me was Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable. But I'm very happy for Alba, Isla and Piper as well i think that they showed to everybody how much they are great on the ring and i hope WWE don't waste this opportunity to push this girls that are incredible. The crowd was fantastic and push the night further."

Starting from the wild rematch between Rhodes and Styles to the emotionally superlative main event, every matchup had valid reasons to receive the time it had and convey what has to be. To top it all, Glasgow was wonderful enough to elevate the energy to an elite scale. There are a lot of pathways created and unfinished with new twists, and as a fan, I can't wait to see the road to SummerSlam emanate crazily. 9.5 out of 10 points!"

Womens tag was fine until Jade came apart at the seams and it became an absolute mess. Cody/AJ was going well but slowed down and then had a laughable ending. Codys fake blood LOL come on dude. Sami/Gable was quite good though I thought they would have Gable go over here to mix things up a bit but oh well. Drew losing once again in CITC is eye roll inducing and the Priest botch made me wince. If youre pressed for time its a skippable show. Hell skip it if you have time, its a one match show, who cares, do something else with your time."

Not sure how Styles recovers from losing like that (7/10). The Women's Tag Team Championship match was okay. Started off fine, but fell apart in the last couple of minutes with all of the botching. Jade looked awful. It was a pleasant surprise to see Alba and Isla win in their home country (4.5/10). Sami vs Gable for the Intercontinental Championship was great when they were just wrestling and this was the best worked match, but there was a lot of focus on the Alpha Academy storyline that got in the way (7.5/10). Bayley vs Piper for the Women's Championship was decent, a competitive match with some solid wrestling that felt like just a filler defense. Chelsea's antics were the best part (5/10). The main event between Priest and McIntyre for the WHC was good. Started off as nothing special, the crowd carried the early going. Priest nearly suffered a bad injury when his foot got caught in the ropes, but he fought throught it and the match actually improved with the added drama. The ref bump that led to CM Punk shenanigans was lame. It was predictable that Punk was going to cost McIntyre in some way in front of his home country fans, but it could have been done better. On top of that, it takes away from Priest's big moment (7/10). Clash at the Castle felt like a filler show. There weren't any bad matches or anything, but there wasn't anything special to carry this card. 6/10"

The matches ranged from mediocre to decent, but really highlighted that this is a PLE and not a PPV. If it was a PPV, you were not getting your money's worth for what were TV main events artificially extended. Hopefully we are seeing the end of Cody and AJ which was a feud that popped up and then refused to die. The Unholy Union winning the tag team belts was cool to see, considering that they have been out of focus ever since they came up from NXT. Sami Zayn and Chad Gable is frustratingly safe. They are both solid workers, but the whole storyline feels stale at this point, especially since it feels like a potpourri of Sami in the Bloodline and Otis with Mandy and Virgil leaving Dibiase. Bayley and Piper could have used a better build. And Damian vs Drew felt like Damian came out worse having been involved in the match. Ultimately, yet another missable show."

All eight women on the card can absolutely go in the ring(aside from Jade exp wise), but for some reason no one was able to really stand out. I hate that this possibly comes off as sexist, but the women didnt deliver like I know theyre capable of. The event was book-ended by fantastic matches with a very unique finish to the main event. 9/10 from me."

The Women's Tag Team match and the Women's Title defense felt like they came out of nowhere, and the Scottish talent was not really elevated by their home crowd. The Gable/Zayn match was decent, but it needed to be great to provide a buffer between opening and main event and the bad matches in the middle."

I think every match had the right winner but some had the wrong ending. Going down the list, Cody winning was the right decision of course and the match was solid with a pretty weird end. The tag match was the only one with a home town winner and honestly deserved, especially after the botch-fest from Bianca and mainly Jade. I know a lot enjoyed the Sami and Gable match but I just felt it was way too slow paced and slowed down even more by the fact Gable was out talking to his team every other move. I do for the better part enjoy the story they are telling though. I was high going into the Women's title match with hopes Piper Niven could finally prove her place in WWE but that just didn't happen. An overall slow match with a few fun parts with Chelsea, an avalanche Bayley-to-Belly and an awesome Michinoku Driver by Piper were the highlights. And finally a great match from beginning to end for Priest and McIntyre, and while most of us knew Punk would likely interfere, it was still a cool way of doing it and expanding upon an already great storyline between the 2. All that together made for an alright show, it wasn't the show I was hoping for but even then it still wasn't that bad."

The opener was a belter, the womens tag was bang average and botch heavy. Sami/ Gable was decent until the jobber amateur dramatics. Piper Bailey was really solid. The main event was ruined by the early botch and the terrible ending. Disappointed but feel I have no right to be. Lots to enjoy but that ending just flattened me."

[6.0] "Another WWE PPV with the crowd that was the main star of the show, plus it was more my type than the France one since the Scots reacted more to the match. Unfortunately it started out pretty badly. The opener didn't even stand next to a grudge match and it had a rotten finish, while women's tag bout was sloppy and it turned into a complete chaos with all wrestlers entering the ring and the referee not doing anything about it. But thankfully the things finally got on track from there. Gable vs Zayn was a very good match from the technical standpoint, but the stuff with Otis was also nicely executed and I didn't mind that they didn't go full in, since they clearly have something left for their one more encounter. Bayley vs Niven was nothing special, but it was still alright and both women presented a pretty good work. And the main event had a big fight feeling and you couldn't predict the outcome, so it was really exciting from the start to finish. Both guys looked great physically and in terms of their character work, but the finish stole the show for me as it was so nicely executed with Punk's face being visible only after he stopped the count. A very clever way to keep the title on Priest while not jobbing out Drew. So overall a good show - not on the level of the first Clash at the Castle, but still a solid PPV with three good matches."

The Rhodes vs Styles finish did feel a little stupid thoung with Styles not being hit with the steps once but quitting, but seeing as what Rhodes did with the chair, I could understand. The crowd was hot and even hotter for the Scottish man and women. yet another great PLE, but to be honest the haven't put on a bad one since 2022 in my opinion."

Crowd was hot all night and they deserved better finishes than what they got. Overall this was a decent show but I would be pissed if I had to pay the prices that they paid and had the hometown hero screwed like that, in such a shit finish. Best match for me was the Cody Rhodes vs AJ styles match but the IC title match and the main event were also good, but brought down by their finishes."
