[7.0] "A pretty filler show that at least offered us a couple of really fun bouts. The show kicked off with a fine promo by FTR. Not the best way to open, also consider that following this promo we had two package videos. The show's actual opener was Lio Rush vs. Roddy Strong and it was fun really good. These two put on an extremely enjoyable match. Would love to see Lio on TV again. DG & Shibata vs. Workhorsemen was good. Kudos to JD Drake for finishing the match despite a clear injury. Thunder Rosa looked sloppy in a squash against Reina Dorada meanwhile Cage of Agony had a super fun squash match, mainly thanks to their opponents bumping their asses off for them. Castagnoli vs. Johnny TV was fine. Ospreay vs. KOR was the best match of the night, maybe a bit too long but great in the end. Ospreay is sensational and KOR has been all hits no misses since his return. Overall: really good opener and great main event but rest of the show was quite skippable as it was pretty much all filler."
[7.0] "This was a fun episode despite the fact that it feels like Tony though it would get preempted when he booked it. Roderick Strong vs. Lio Rush was a fun way to introduce Lio to the AEW audience. Daniel Garcia and Katsuyori Shibata and the WorkHorsemen had another good match, that almost made you forget that the WorkHorsemen are absolute jobbers. Thunder Rosa squashed Reina Dorada before Cage of Agony squashed Danny Rose, KM, and Ricky Gee. Claudio Castagnoli and Johnny TV had a decent match, followed by a dull match between Shane Taylor Productions and the West Coast Wrecking Crew. Finally, Will Osprey and Kyle O'Reilly had the match of the night, as pretty much anyone looking at the card would have predicted."
[6.0] "The wrestlers I was excited to watch won squash matches, most of the other matches were fine, but the episode got saved by the best wrestler in the world, Bruv."
[7.0] "You can tell this show was booked with the fear that the NBA would have a game on and this would air at midnight. Great in ring action though so it's hard to knock it too much even if it's light on star power or stakes. Ospreay vs KOR and Strong vs Lio Rush are well worth going out of your way to see."
[5.0] "Sorry but this was the weakest, least entertaining Collision episode I can recall with the only memorable moments being Ospreay's and Shane Taylor's finishers and Claudio's near 30 second vertical suplex. That's it. This would have been a mediocre Rampage."
[7.0] "The bookends of this episode (Strong/Rush and Ospreay/O'Reilly) were both true standout matches with innovative technical work and credible in-ring storytelling. The promos and pre-tapes on this episode were pretty average (with the exception of Swerve's closing pre-tape which was fantastic), but there seem to be clear designs in the Forbidden Door build. It does look like they've found some heat with the Garcia/Shibata pairing so it'll be interesting to see where that goes. If you missed this episode, I'd definitely go out of your way to check our Ospreay/O'Reilly (it's one of Ospreay's best TV matches since joining AEW full-time) and the Strong/Rush match is good if you're a fan of other guy."
[5.0] "I did not enjoy this episode, and the main reason was the booking of 100% obvious outcomes. Not a single match on this card had even a whiff of uncertainty of the outcome. I can overlook that to a large extent when there is storyline advancement at play, but there was very little of that either. The matches themselves were fine, but so what. Second, the nonsense with Strong demanding a title shot from Tony was garbage. Why can everyone not just do that? What was the point of Ospreay EARNING a title shot? I saw someone suggest that Strong should've gone to the Bucks instead, which would've made FAR more sense for him to do as a heel and for the Bucks to agree to undermine Swerve."
[7.0] "The best episode of AEW Collision I've seen so far compared to the last 3 weeks of underwhelming programming. A good overall event filled with neat matches and some alright story development but dragged down by squash matches and unmemorable nothingness. The opening segment was good, Lio Rush vs. Strong & the main event. The story progression is again minimal but well-done compared to Rampage. 7/10"
[8.0] "You know that SpongeBob episode where King Neptune makes a pyramid of burgers that taste horrible, but SpongeBob wins the competition with one lovingly made Krabby Patty? Collision is that Krabby Patty most weeks. Not the most glamorous card, doesn't often get a suffusion of star power, it's just solid consistent wrestling, yet again."
[9.0] "This was an excellent episode of wrestling matches from top to bottom including Ospreay vs OReilly being one of the best TV matches of the year thus far. The rest of the night also featured quality bouts including a great showing for Lio Rush vs Strong, setting up Strong going for the World title on the upcoming Dynamite. The Workhorsemen also had an underrated nice match with Garcia and Shibata as well as one of the longer and more competitive matches Johnny TV has had in AEW."
[7.0] "The bookends were excellent, the main event event in particular was a banger. The typical collision squashes are just overdone and derails the show. It would be far more beneficial to replace these with one proper match, maybe even another womens match. The tag match was fine, cage of agony look like killers, Rosa still isnt sparking unfortunately. Not putting her straight back in the main event and using her this way speaks volumes. Claudio and Jonny had a good match, STP had a pointless squash that they made the best of.the main event was an absolute BANGER. If you watch nothing els, watch Ospreay Vs KOR."
[6.0] "The wrestling on the show was largely solid. The booking however continues to undermine the efforts. If anyone can ask for a title shot, why does Daniel Garcia need to string wins together and just ask like Roderick did? Kyle got a title shot here against Ospreay. The rankings were brought back and seemingly already forgotten about."
[4.0] "A below bar episode. Roderick gets a consolation gift nobody wants to see, and we know already that he won't win against Swerve next week. TK needs a better environment to make better decisions like a TV station bus as a base or buero. Would be much nicer than a dark corner in the backstage area. Claudio, as a Swiss, should go after the Learning Tree's Bad Apple with his sharpshooter. Wink from Wilhelm Tell. Let the UK join the Elite to create a super faction and a heelish overweight.. Btw let the UK wear special Union Jack outfits at All In. No excuses possible, you got the answers."
[5.0] "What great shows they could have with this magnificent roster...Collision now (but sometimes also Dynamite) is a succession of matches and segments made just for the sake of it. Even when I hear "but now they try to give a storyline to some matches", most of the time it's just to silence the criticism. There's this creative process going backwards that's too obvious to ignore. For example people who attack someone they have never had problems with before and have no titles. And then next week they'll say "there's the match because Killswitch attacked Bear Country", it's not a story...Also the lack of general coherence, it's the second show in a row that Garcia talks about rankings and the fact that he has to grind to get back to competing for belts and then someone gets given a title shot without earning it... it makes Garcia look stupid, It doesnt make him look like a babyface. My rating isnt that low only because I'm happy to see KOR back at some level, he put some psychology into the match focusing on Ospreay's arm. More of this please."
"It was a stuffed show. The only good matches were Will Ospreay vs Kyle O'Really and Roderick Strong vs Lio Rush. The collision looks like Rampage without offense"
[3.0] "This was a bad show. Worst episode of AEW in ages. Nothing was good apart from few video packages - mainly the Swerve video and Stat&Stoke promo. There's nothing you should go out your way to see. Lio Rush vs Roderic Strong was an okay match, followed by a lot of shit and the main event was horrible. I can't understand how you can get bored during a Will Ospreay match but somehow they managed to pull it off... Do yourself a favor and instead of watching this show, watch paint dry... it will be more exciting."
[6.0] "What a schizophrenic show. Collision felt much more like a Dynamite this week, and not in a good way. The show opened with a promo, a pre-tape, and a video package. Awful. Collision should always open with a match, but if you are going to start with filler, pick ONE thing. The parade of filler didn't stop all night. We get Tony Khan on-screen, so I guess the CD return is just a way to muddy the storytelling and not a way to keep TK off the screen. I'm actually up for a Premier Athletes return to the main roster (though Davari is the jaggiest jag to fill the 3rd spot), but why did we need Killswitch beating up Bear Country? Does that make sense to anyone? As for the matches...meh? Roddy Lio was solid, but the UK interference is long past tolerable. That goes doubly for the Claudio TV match, which was a worse match with even more absurd interference. Both tag matches were OK, but nothing particularly exciting. Thunder seemed grumpy again, so that match was mid. The Cage of Agony squash was super fun, thanks to the jobbers trying to bump into another dimension. And then we have the main event, the worst Osprey match since the dog days of the G1. O'Reilly does not have the creativity or arsenal for a match this long, and the first half was dull as dishwater. Osprey will bump and sell like a madman for anything you want, but if you are going to spend 10 minutes working side headlocks and arm wringers even he won't be able to make you look good."
