[9.0] "An extraordinary pay-per-view from AEW with welcome title changes, such as the Tag Team, TBS and World Championships [not so much FTW]. In-ring action was consistently good to phenomenal, peaking with an all-timer in Danielson vs. Ospreay, but also an example made from the International Championship match. Some dips were the Nightingale/Hart match, and the Hook/Jericho brawl. The middle of the show dragged just a tad as a result, but didn't harm the final product too much. Jack Perry had a notable return that was executed really nicely. Swerve gains the AEW Title from Joe, realising his goal of becoming the first Black world champion in All Elite Wrestling's history. A well-thought out show, one that exceeded expectations and mediocre builds. [9.0]"

[9.0] "AEW continues to expand its annual PPV slate, with Dynasty in early 2024, bringing their total to nine a year. Its a credit to the company that it hasn't had a noticeable effect on the generally high quality of their shows, as although the first World's End back in late 2023 was maybe their worst ever, Dynasty 2024 has to be in consideration for one of their best. There's only two bad/not good matches here. Willow/Hart was given 6 mins to cap off a nothing build. Its a match with the stink of obligation, just a holding pattern for Mercedes Mone to come and take it at the next event. And Hook/Jericho is just legit awful, and worse yet its a feud that will continue to stink up PPVs for months to come. Everything else on the card? Basically whipped ass to various degrees in a variety of ways. Okada/Pac, Toni/Rosa, Strong/O'Reily and Swerve/Samoa Joe were all well-worked, entertaining title bouts. House of Black had a terrific trios match with Edge/Briscoe/Kingston, leaning on the animosity between Edge and Malakai Black. The ending ensured this feud would continue into Double or Nothing the following month. There's a wonderful ladder match between the two best modern American tag teams in FTR and the Young Bucks. These two have fought a number of times since 2020, but never like this. There's some truly insane spots in here, giving the audience the blood and broken tables every PPV could use. But as good as all this is, the one match everyone is gonna remember from this show is Danielson/Ospreay. This was a dream match for a number of years. The current best wrestler in the world vs the best wrestler of all time. There's an energy in the crowd before the two men even lock up that we haven't seen since the last Danielson dream match with Kenny Omega back in 2021. What follows actually lives up to the hype, an incredible MOTY-caliber bout that gives modern pro wrestling fans everything they could want. Its as good a match I've ever seen, and its the kind of match quality that's become a signature of this company. When Excalibur ends this show saying AEW is "the home of professional wrestling", you got no choice but to agree with him."

Overall AEW Dynasty (2024) is a really phenomenal show."

Other than that, the matches were really good, and I haven't even gotten to the fact that this PPV houses honestly one of the best matches I've ever watched in my life in Ospreay vs Danielson. Like that was amazing. Additionally, the great opener & ladder match, plus you have Swerve's crowning moment here, which leads to this being an amazing show. Okada/PAC - ****1/2, 6 man - ***1/2, Julia/Willow - **1/4, Roddy/KOR - ****, Hook/Jericho (didn't watch), Toni/Rosa - ***1/2, Ospreay/Danielson - *****, Bucks/FTR - ****1/2, Joe/Swerve - ****."

The opening match and Bryan/Ospreay were my two favorites of the night. The latter is getting a lot of hype right now but I felt I have seen both wrestlers have stronger matches this year than that one as well as better matches within AEW, similar to how I felt toward Ospreay/Bailey in TNA last year. It was still a very good match but I fail to see a lot of the MOTY hype people have toward it. Bucks/FTR was good even with the expected ending. Most on the show was solid even if some matches I expected more from while Jericho/Hook was a bit of a miss. A couple of AEWs recent PPVs have felt longer than they should and this was one of those toward the middle of the show to me but there was enough good to make this a solid watch overall.""

This show had two subjective five star matches for me but my favourite match was still the dream match come to life in Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson. In an unsurprising turn of events my least favourite match of the show was the FTW title match. St. Louis was treated to a damn good show here."

[6.0] "6 I wasn't looking forward to this show, which is half of the battle. You can have the greatest matches of all time on the card... It doesn't matter if what came before was the shits. None of these matches had a good build. The only match that had a build that was worthy of a ppv was Joe vs Swerve. But with Swerve trying to do the psycho thing while bleeding and basically saying "is that all you got" and than just getting beaten down again... he cooled down significantly as well. The first four matches were mediocre at best. Not because they were bad on a technical level but because of the lack of build and/or people to care about. PAC hasn't been consistently presented as anything so why is he having a 50/50 match for 20 minutes with Okada. Okada hasn't been presented well and doesn't look strong at all. Even less so now. I don't care about anyone in the six man tag, which is a pity because the House Of Black could be cool, Edge was once cool but already lost all his momentum, Mark Briscoe is a complete joke in AEW and Kingston is great on the mic and as a character but he's terrible in the ring. I do not care about Willow, nor Julia Hart and I care even less about whatever title they were fighting for. Hook's title doesn't matter either but at least Jericho and Hook created some interest. Yes Jericho has go away heat, but that's still better than no heat and no one else in the company has any heat. Jericho should be better at hiding his weaknesses (mainly his cardio) but other than that it was a good match imo that elevated Hook. Toni Storm is an over the top parody that I dislike an Thunder Rose is a good wrestler that I haven't seen in a while and had forgotten about. I don't remember why I should care. Despite that they had a good match. Danielson and Ospreay had a match of the year candidate... if only there was some type of build or reason for these two to fight beyond their supposed status as the best in the world. I've hated the Bucks for a while now for different reason. Mainly their lack of psychology, their lack of mic skills and charisma and their backstage politics. That being said, I enjoyed their match. Why? Well I don't like seeing these types of matches too often but I've only seen the Bucks twice this year (the other match being Revolution). Only seeing the bucks sporadically evidently helps. It also helped that I saw the travesty that was the 6-team ladder match at wrestlemania. It somewhat made me respect the bucks more. Despite what I think of them, their stuff looks good and seems as safe as these things can be. It's also 2 vs 2, which always makes more sense than having more bodies and more chaos out their. Despite not being the biggest fan of these matches anymore I must admit that The Bucks made it look better than anyone else in recent memory. The main event was good but too awkward at times with a couple of mistakes by Swerve. But it delivered adequately. To sum it all up. It's a good ppv with good matches... That didn't care about because of lack of build and people to care about. And it ran at least half an hour too long. 4 hours is too long for any event. Around 3h being the magic number and 3, 5h being the cut of point imo. Especially with it being all action. With WWE there are commercials to skip through (if you don't watch it live, which I never do because it would be in the middle of the night til early morning). AEW/Tony Khan needs to learn that having good matches and good ppv's isn't enough. Wrestling fans are wrestling fans because they want stories and characters to be invested in. If not, they'd watch mma or boxing instead. Every successful company ever succeeded because of the creative side of things. Signing big names and having great matches and nothing else has never worked and will never work."

[7.0] "A very fun show with great matches to look forward to. Crowd is very lively as usual. We also witnessed the match of the ages in the name of Ospreay vs Danielson. A well-rounded match that only 2 matches are bad. The presentation of every AEW PPV's are very good and despite the questionable booking they have nowadays, they can still put on a great show. What can you expect on the show that has Okada, Danielson, Ospreay, The Bucks, FTR, etc. TK already has a cheat code on making AEW awesome, all he needs to do is to put them in a fantasy matchup that us fans want. Here are my ratings for this show: Okada vs PAC, my review on the matchguide, (****1/4), House of Black vs Copeland/Kingston/Briscoe, my review on the matchguide, (***3/4), Nightingale vs Hart, a lowkey decent match just enough to showcase the ladies on a midcard title, (**3/4), Strong vs KOR, my review on the matchguide, (****), Jericho vs Hook, this match has NO RIGHT to be on the main show and it's downright terrible, only good part of it is when Jericho hit Hook with a baseball bat on the head, (**1/4), Storm vs Thunder Rosa, a mildly good women's match, (***1/2), The Bucks vs FTR, my review on the matchguide, (****1/2) and Joe vs Strickland, my review on the matchguide, (***3/4). But one match that truly stood out is the Ospreay vs Danielson match, possibly my Top 5 greatest wrestling matches in the 21st century. This is the third 5-star match that I've rated for the year and deservingly so. More review on the matchguide on why I gave this match a 5-star. Jack Perry surprisingly showed up disguised as a fan is pretty neat, can't wait to see this new version of him. The main event has somewhat drained out probably due to Ospreay vs Danielson and the Ladder match, but the celebratory win for Strickland is one of the AEW memories to cherish for many years. Overall, it's a great show but there are some matches that doesn't belong in the main card. Once again, AEW wins for providing a quality show to make your money's worth."

[9.0] "When it comes to put a card together for a PPV and actually deliver, nobody is on AEW's level. This first ever Dynasty was a sensational show, only stained by the presence of Hook vs. Jericho which doesn't allow the PPV to reach the "10". Pac vs. Okada was the perfect opener for the show, great match with two awesome perfomers who had something to prove tonight and both knocked it out of the park. Cope, Briscoe and Eddie vs. HoB was a really good trios match. Perfect set-up for Copeland vs. Malakai. Julia vs. Willow wasn't very good. It was short and just comes off as flat. Good moment for Willow though. Roddy vs. O'Reilly looked like it came straight out a prime ROH/PWG show so it was great. These two really brought the fight to each other and delivered. Hook vs. Jericho was bad, I didn't like it at all. Just sloppy and boring all around. And Jericho going over was the icing on a cake of shit. Toni vs. Rosa was a really good match, easily Toni's best title defense. Surprisingly physical and intense. Ospreay vs. Danielson was the greatest match to ever take place on the American wrestling scene and one of the best matches of all time. I didn't think these two could overdeliver but, somehow, they did. FTR vs. Young Bucks had the difficult task of coming after Will and Bryan but there were able to put on a really fun ladder match. They worked their asses off and they made it work. Loved the ending with Jack Perry coming back, one of loudest pops of the night. Joe vs. Swerve was a good main event and Swerve getting his crowning moment was an absolutely amazing moment. Overall: outside of the (terrible) Jericho and Hook match, everything here was great. Swerve's crowning moment was hearfelt and Bryan and Will put on one of the greatest matches ever. Even Julia vs. Willow (the second worst match of the show) had the good moment of Willow winning the title. Both Swerve and Ospreay start the dynasties tonight as they are the men who are gonna lead AEW towards the future, really poetic."

Bryan & Ospreay is truly one the best matches I have ever seen, but I can say that of any Ospreay match and I have the sensation that if there is a part II it will be better. A gem in the form of Bryan vs. Ospreay, though I don't favor considering this bout one of the best ever (for goodness sake). A good opener and main event, but in the middle...two flops: Nightingale vs Hart (the women's division in AEW is a constant low point of the show) and Jericho vs Hook - such a debacle does not befit such an established brand as Chris."

The Will/Bryan match is likely the best match on North American soil. The Young Bucks/FTR match was enough and a great match in a already legendary rivalry. Toni/Rosa was eh. Fucking Jericho man smfh that match will prolly lead to Hook heading over to WWE which as a fan of both companies will be fun to see. Roddy vs Kyle was cool and a very nice match. I didn't care about the 6-Man tag match. And Okada had a great match with Pac. Overall a great show and I am super excited to see how Swerve and Will follow up their major wins."

[9.0] "Certainly lots to like here. The biggest takeaway, of course, is the Ospreay vs Danielson match. I do think there's been a lot of hyperbole in the hype it's received - I wouldn't rank it in the top of the list of best matches I've seen - but I also can't argue that it was undoubtedly an incredible match that stole the show. There was also a great opener from Okada and PAC, a very good Tag Title ladder match between the Bucks and FTR, a great moment in Swerve winning his first World Title in the main, and a very fun six-man between the House of Black and the Copeland/Kingston/Briscoe trio. Toni Storm turned in probably the best match yet in her Timeless run; in the past, while the character has been very fun, she hadn't quite hit the right combination of wrestling and schtick during the actual matches, but her defense against Rosa here hit much closer to the right balance and shows that Toni is likely at, or at least very close to, the point of putting it all together. Strong vs O'Reilly was solid; Willow vs Hart was fine especially considering Hart was working injured, and also had a nice moment for Willow winning, and I think that the discussion of Jericho vs Hook has also received a lot of hyperbole - while undoubtedly the weakest match on the show, I also didn't think it was *that* bad. Right now AEW could use any bit of positivity it can get, and hopefully two very strong PPVs in a row will help."

Except for the hugely buzzed matchups (Ospreay/Bryan, Joe/Swerve & Bucks/FTR), other rivalries and the hype around them before the start was in the fence. However, the match quality is where AEW excelled in most matches, except for the TBS & FTW title showdowns. The latter was a mega-disaster not only because of the result but also because of the lackluster quality. The return of Jack Perry and the crownings of Willow and Swerve were greatly done, leaving an interesting path to embark on their way to the first Big 4 of this year."

We opened with Kazuchika Okada defending his Continental Title against PAC in a fantastic match. this was followed by a very good Trios match between House of Black and Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, and Eddie Kingston. The TBS Title Match between Willow Nightingale and Julia Hart was underwhelming, but good enough given that Hart was hurt. Roderick Strong defended his International Title against Kyle O'Reilly in a fantastic match. Chris Jericho won the FTW Title off of Hook in a very disappointing match. Toni Storm defended her Woman's Title against Thunder Rosa in the best match either of them have had in months. We then got the easy match of the night, as Will Osprey took on Bryan Danielson in one of the best matches I have ever seen. The Young Buck defeated FTR in a phenomenal Ladder Match for the Tag Team Titles. Finally, Swerve Strickland defeated Samoa Joe in a very good match, that still fell flat following the previous two matches, for the World Heavyweight Title."

Storm vs Rosa actually wasn't that bad and was one of the better performance from Rosa (maybe Storm, too) that we've seen in a while. The ladder match was your pretty standard unmemorable but not boring tag ladder match. Lower moments on the card were Hart vs Willow, which was already doomed by Julia's injury, Hook vs Jericho, and a main event which just didn't do a whole lot for me. Bucks and FTR, it's a classic that never gets old; this was one of the best matches between the two teams and I think it will be remembered for a long time in the fans' minds. These were the big points of the night. Willow Nightingale vs Julia Hart: A short match mainly due to Hart having an injury, while the title change was not surprising it was good to see [*3/4]. Ospreay vs Bryan could have truly been a legendary match but instead it is yet another wasted opportunity. Ospreay winning on the first try against the greatest active wrestler is a very questionable choice. Not having a belt on the line for one of the biggest match up possible is a very questionable choice. The match was excellent as always with these two. We'll forget about it in a month...Maybe I'm just fussy, but I'm sure there were better set ups... AEW, for me, continues to be an "instant high/istant gratification" promotion..which is fine but I prefer something else...Willow's victory and especially Swerve's victory didnt even seemed that special when instead they should have been historical... [8.0] "Bryan Danielson Vs Will Ospreay, that is the biggest takeaway from this show, it is perhaps the best professional wrestling match in North American soil. Not only that, Dynasty had one of the best endings in AEW history, it was a pivotal and significant moment for AEW's young history. The show is not without flaws but the important, money matches all delivered in some way. The biggest problem for AEW is that its PLE are great but the build up is lacking, most of the matches here had insignificant builds, other than the main event. Moving forward, hopefully, AEW learns how to build towards its PLE better and invest more in storytelling and building credibility for all their Championships. It was a very good show, the middle of the card dragged but the good ouweigh the bad, the opener was one of AEW's best openers, Bryan Vs Ospreay was an all time classic ( the best match outside Japan for me) and the ending is an all time unforgettable moment for AEW. 8/10"

However, without a doubt, Bryan v Will was the match of the night, will be the match of the year, and will go down as one of the best ever. Now, nothing is perfect and it does not take a full on 10 for me. The Hook v Jericho was definitely a low for me and it made me believe that Hook is now done with AEW."

[8.0] "I liked this show a lot more than any other AEW PPV in the last year, but we're not exactly hitting the levels of what we had a couple of years ago when the company was at its peak. Ospreay v Danielson was a great match, but it wasn't the 'best match ever held on US soil', it's not even MOTY (Danielson v ZSJ from NJPW happened). It was great becasue of the crowd and the two getting to do their thing, but it didn't have a great deal of substance to it. I'd go ****1/4 on that one. The second best match was O'Reilly v Strong, ***3/4 really good hard hitting match. Toni Storm at least tried to have a good match with Rosa, it was her best since she started this bad gimmick. The other featured matches weren't particularly good aside from the main event. Jericho v hook was atrocious. Willow v Julia was a means to an end, Julia was hurt, I'll give em a pass for a bad match. that 6 man was lousy. Pac v Okada was only watchable because of Pac. Bucks v FTR reminded me of ECW, they just rolled out spot after spot with nothing in between.I didn't like that one at all. Swerve v Joe was a really good match, third best on the show. ***1/4."

Not even mentionned how stacked the card was while having so much people missing (Omega, Page, MJF, Cole, Moxley). The road to All In will be insane to watch, Double or Nothing will surely be one of the best ppv of the year too !"

[10.0] "This was a fantastic card of action, and a strong show of the year contender. I expected something great going in, but almost everything overdelivered in one way or another, and featured a super hot crowd. And obviously it featured one of the greatest matches ever. The Okada vs. PAC opener was excellent stuff, one of the best openers to a PPV you'll ever see: ****1/2. HoB vs. Copeland, Briscoe and Eddie was a great multi-man outing. If there's one gripe, it's that it was probably a little long, but on the whole I really enjoyed it: ****. The TBS Title Match was the weakest match on the card, mainly due to Hart being injured. Willow winning was good to see: **. Strong vs. O'Reilly was another excellent, hard-hitting wrestling match. This would have been better without the inexplicable stuff with Wardlow, which hurt it somewhat, but on the whole it was great: ****. The FTW Title Match was a decent brawl, but on the whole I can't say I'm remotely interested in this storyline/feud: ***. Toni vs. Rosa was much better than anticipated. I'm really not a fan of this Timeless Toni stuff, but it was kept to a minimum here and they worked this completely straight faced. I was hoping for a title change, but it wasn't to be. Very good stuff: ***1/2. Ospreay vs. Danielson was absolutely phenomenal. Two of the best to ever lace up boots had one of the best matches I've ever seen, and a pretty much flawless display of the craft. Outstanding, must-see stuff which is the best match of 2024 so far: *****+. The Tag Title Ladder Match had an impossible task in following the previous match, but after a ropey start they turned it up to 11 with some insane spots. As much as ladder matches are done to death nowadays, these guys pulled out the stops to have an excellent TLC match: ****1/2. And the Joe vs. Swerve main event was another really good match, but it was obvious the crowd (and I) were super tired by this point in the show. Swerve winning was 100% the right call, and as much as I love Joe, and am always happy to see him get a title run, realistically, I'd have had Swerve beat MJF last year, as he was a made guy after that Texas Death Match at Full Gear: ***3/4. All in all, a fantastic wrestling PPV and pretty much the show of the year so far."

[9.0] "I enjoyed much of this show. While it didn't have all the crazy high impact matches, the highs were some of the best in the company's history and perhaps peak professional wrestling. Ospreay vs. Danielson will go down as one of the absolute best matches of all time. It's not hyperbolic to say it stands right up there with any of the Omega vs. Okada matches. Ospreay has hit his apex in this match showing the best version of himself to date. This match alone carries much of the show rating. It was impossible to follow that match with the same level of anything, but they tried and had some great matches to follow. Okada vs. PAC also stands out as one of the best PPV openers in recent memory. Okada in AEW makes the promotion feel as though it truly is "where the best wrestle". The crowd throughout the show brought the event to another level with creative chants and heat for most everything on the show. Even Hook vs. Jericho was an interesting spectacle from the crowd's reaction."

And the matches after were able to still deliver, which is a hell of a feat. The crowd was hot for the whole show too, which just helped the overall experience of the show. IMO it was better than Revolution."

"Just now getting really into AEW (well, the PPVs mostly) and I honestly liked this more than Revolution (the card was more interesting going into it). Danielson/Ospreay doesn't need my praise but holy shit. Swerve winning the title was a moment for the ages and I hope his reign is great. Can't put it into words how awful the FTW match and result felt though. Good show overall."

[9.0] "Doesn't matter what is your favorite company, nobody does PPV's better than All Elite Wrestling, this was another spectacular event, wow! Would probably be a 10.0 if I considered Ospreay vs Danielson as good as most people are, but even with this underrating of mine, the show was fantastic, four really good matches, and some remarkable moments too, like Swerve becoming a champion. AEW has many flaws, but PPV's aren't one of them, this is their specialty."
