[7.0] "I wouldn't rate this a 9 or 10 as others have, but this was very good and definitely better than any show that DG produced that year in Japan. Almost every single match here was pretty good at worst, which is quite the achievement. Hulk vs Yamato was a fantastic opener and actually my MOTN (which isn't surprising given my love of Hulk). Both guys were incredibly smooth and produced an interesting match via their mixture of high-flying, striking, grappling, and general power. They paced this perfectly so as to slowly but progressively ramp up the drama. ***3/4 - ****. Scorpio vs Doane was the only blight on this otherwise very strong show -- 16 minutes of slow and boring interactions, even though their work itself was technically solid. **1/4. The Chikara 8-man tag made up for the boredom before it by being a pretty fun spotfest that was absolutely at home here on a DG show. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Yoshino vs Kid was disappointing because it wasn't totally outrageous, but it was likewise another pretty good match with both men displaying many impressively athletic, acrobatic, and creative feats. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Cima & Susumu vs The Young Bucks was disappointing relative to its high rating here, but it was yet another pretty good match. The Bucks were their usual solid spotfest selves while Cima and Susumu, despite not being as explosive, displayed interesting creative in their tag work and had a lot of charisma to carry themselves, and both teams produced some good tag-team bomb exchanges in the second half. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Doi vs Shingo was very good, and the only other relatively 'must-see' match on this show apart from Hulk vs Yamato. Shingo was a great confident powerhouse while Doi countered with his immense speed and explosive strikes. All the standard DG main-event second-half big-bomb trades were very fun, and many of the near falls were convincing as well. Both Shingo's offence and Doi's selling continued to look convincing right until the end. ***3/4"
