[6.0] "This show had its moments and there were some interesting things in it but overall it was really forgettable and even a bit uninteresting which is unacceptable considering we're just a few away weeks from Revolution. BCC vs. FTR was great, best match of the night. Hope to see a them fight again in PPV. Cassidy vs. Bennett was forgettable. Jake Hager coming out to make the save for OC is one of the most random things I've ever seen and it's something that shouldn't be done just two weeks before one of your biggest shows of all time. DG/Christain segment was one of the few high notes of this show: really well done angle. Toni Storm had an okay squash. Rayne vs. Purazzo will probably end up being one of the worst matches of the year, just terrible all around. Wardlow cut a, surprisingly, really good promo. It was nice to see something different from him rahter than the usual 2 minutes squash. Sting and Darby cut one of the best promos of the year, insane stuff. Hangman, RVD and Hook vs. Joe, Cage and Swerve was an enjoyable main event altough it was extremely dissapointing and shouldn't have been as long as it was. Overall: outside of the opener, no match is worth watching and the DG/Christian good segment isn't enough to make this show good. I don't know how we got to 2 hours of programming considering I felt like nothing really happend between the opener and the main event, outside the DG/Christian segment and Sting's promo which was just a few minutes long."
[4.0] "A very weak show imo, the matches on paper didnt really look great tbh, BCC vs FTR sounded interesting but I feel like they just padded out match to get to a time limit draw so they can continue the feud. I'm very bored with OCs character lately and I think he needs a break from the limelight to work on something new. The 2 women's matches werent very good, especially purazzo vs Rayne which was sloppy and featured an awful botch. Main event was fine, but I think dont really understand Joe working with Swerve and the match itself was nothing special. This show was really missing something interesting."
[6.0] "This was a pretty weak episode, although based on what Tony Khan was saying on Twitter, that seems to have been largely outside of anyone's control. We kick things off with the Match of the Night as the Blackpool Combat Club battle FTR to a time limit draw. Orange Cassidy then had a fine match with Mike Bennett, although it got nowhere near the level of the Texas Death Match he had last week with Taven. Toni Storm had a quick squash of Sydni Winnell before Deonna Purrazzo and Madison Rayne had one of the worst matches I've ever seen in AEW. Finally, things got back on track as Samoa Joe and the Mogul Embassy faced Hook, Rob Van Dam, and Adam Page in a good multi-man."
[6.0] "One of the few dynamites Ive seen where barely half of the show is worth watching. Not sure what happened or why, but there was a clear pivot in giving screen time to guys who usually dont get it, which is good, but the matches should usually hold on their own too but besides the opening and closing ones, none of it was worth much and there is something scarily missing from the women's rivalry right now. At least in ring. Which feels like a mistake to not give both Toni and Deonna more time to shine before their match that I am hoping is barn burner but Deonna has been a little clunky and Im not sure what's going on. Whatever angle they are playing out with Hangman I really hope they dont keep it or that whatever he might be written off TV for can be fixed because taking him out of the match at revolution would just be a really bad choice. I dont want a one on one between Joe and Swerve yet so maybe Hangman can pick someone like Hook as his replacement and when he eats the pin that could start a cool feud with them when he comes back or something since clearly Hangman is going full crazy heel anyways."
[2.0] "This episode of Dynamite was a failure in every way. Not only were the matches disappointments across the board, but the vast majority of angles featured overpushed and undeserving wrestlers like Wardlow and Garcia, seemingly due to AEW being desperate to accommodate a number of injuries or issues disrupting plans for the Revolution PPV. One day, AEW will learn that shoving circle pegs into square holes to try and salvage or stretch out ongoing stories doesn't work, and that they'd be better served starting a new story with fresh wrestlers building off their strengths instead. -- Quick note, the two women's matches were some of the worst wrestling of the year. AEW desperately needs to reinvent the division. Whoever is producing/coaching the women has turned an entire division into a plodding disaster waiting to happen. It's no wonder Mercedes isn't selling out Boston when there are no women in AEW that it will be exciting to see her wrestle. Storm is a fun character and boring in-ring. Deonna never should have been brought over from Impact. Rayne may be AEW's worst hire entirely."
[7.0] "Would probably have been a much better show if it weren't for a lot of last minute absences and injuries. Positively, the program was bookended by a killer opening match in the BCC vs FTR and a very fun main event. Orange v Bennett was mid, and I didn't care to see Hager post-match. The Madison Rayne match was a mess. At least there was some decent plot-building between Purrazzo and Toni Storm. All the promo segments were decent, not including Flair. But whatever. Mixed feelings with this one, but mostly positive despite the logistical issues."
[6.0] "This fizzled out a bit as it went on but it was mostly pretty watchable. Maybe in that '5' or low '6' range for me because I felt that the main event dragged a bit and the match before it wasn't good. Outside of the first two matches not being bad, some of the better stuff in this episode was the promo segments. Wardlow can actually speak pretty confidently and show some personality when he gets to cut loose with a chip on his shoulder. Flair has some kind of angle going which I can see ending with him being the guest ref and swerving on the Bucks. I think the ability to take real-life tragedies and events and channel them into pro wrestling is something which can really make pro wrestling special and unique. Sting's promo will stick with me going into that match. Garcia did a pretty good job of getting fired up when it was his turn, Darby is getting better at speaking, and Callis furiously calling Guevara a "cuck" without motivation (as far as I know) always makes me laugh."
[9.0] "The opener is a potential MOTY candidate, the main event is an exciting star-studded affair that felt a lot more wild and unpredictable than anticipated. Absolutely incredible promos tonight; shout out to Garcia, Christian, Sting and Wardlow (of all people! ) in that regard. The feud between Deonna and Toni has started to exhaust its creativity but Toni is just absolutely killing it as a performer right now.. Bennett was surprisingly entertaining in his match, and Hager randomly turning face in Oklahoma is based as fuck tbh. Ric Flair's inclusion on the show continues to be a black mark on AEW, especially as he's seemingly getting more involved in what is an otherwise fantastic storyline. The backstage segments with the Callis Family and the Bang Bang Scissor Gang were both brief and silly but very welcome pieces of fun. Best episode in a while, really great stuff."
[6.0] "This episode was below the average, specially considering the incredible effort AEW is pulling this last months, but at least the promos were great, the Christian/Garcia segment and that Sting promo were phenomenal, really really good, they saved the show for me. Opener and closer were good matches as well. I'm expecting the go-home show for Revolution will be better."
[7.0] "We're still on the road to AEW Revolution 2024, and I thought this was a good episode, to help build to what looks like an excellent PPV. BCC vs FTR was really good, which you'd expect with these four and the time limit draw was a good way to end it, so the four can deliver a banger at the PPV. The pull-apart brawl after and the confrontation later on basically confirms they'll have a rematch at the PPV. Orange Cassidy vs Mike Bennett was fine. I've been honestly sick of Orange Cassidy since his insanely long reign with the International Title so it didn't really interest me. I beg Roderick Strong beats him at Revolution, also I had no interest in Jake Hager when he debuted on the first episode of Dynamite and I have no interest in him now either. Then the segment afterward made my eyes roll as I don't care one bit about Angelo Parker or Ruby Soho, but it did lead to an interesting segment with Ric Flair and The EVP's Nicholas and Matthew. This could lead to Flair trying to turn on Sting one last time, with Sting not falling for it finally after all these decades. The segment with Daniel Garcia and Christian Cage was great. Garcia was portrayed as a fiery babyface, a role he's become really good at since the Continental Classic, and Christian played the evil prick, a role he's played to perfection and is the best heel in the business right now. Great segment. Toni Storm vs Sydni Winnell was a fine squash and Deonna Purrazzo vs Madison Rayne was fine, yet sloppy at the end with the botch. Both matches were done to further the story and they were decent for what they were. Toni Storm's character work is amazing which made the segments much better. The Darby Allin & Sting segment was great, it showed how personal the match is for Sting & Darby and I for one am very excited for it. After this, Wardlow gave the best promo of his career which hopefully helps him get back on track, as I was a big fan of Wardlow when he was on his hot streak. Finally, the Main Event. Thought it was an absolute banger. RVD looked fantastic as usual, HOOK looked really good, Cage looked like a beast, it furthered the storyline between Swerve & Hangman and their story, chasing Samoa Joe and his AEW World Championship."
[7.0] "Decent episode, but nothing too spectacular. Somewhere between a 6-7 for me. Other than the opener, really nothing special in ring this week, but I thought the promos were surprisingly good - especially Wardlow and the Garcia/Christian segment. Last note - Madison Rayne put on one of the single worst performances I've ever seen in AEW, and that was before she almost broke her neck taking a basic bump. She seems like a nice person, but please don't put her on TV anymore."
[5.0] "The opener and the main event were solid, though the main was a bit sloppy, but the middle of the show really dragged this one down. I appreciate the attempt to have two matches bleed together with the women's segments in the middle, but it was a train wreck. Madison Rayne should not be on television. She has not had a match in AEW that approached competent. The Wardlow promo was surprisingly good, but this show needed a match in that spot."
[7.0] "From an in-ring perspective, the BCC/FTR match is probably the only one worth revisiting but the Main Event and OC/Bennett were also solid. The Rayne/Purrazzo match looked like they were wrestling in quicksand, unfortunately (but the segment overall was good with Toni Storm). Otherwise, the promo work between Garcia and Cage was quite good. The solo promo from Wardlow was good too (and a welcome departure from the usual sub-5 min squash match). The content of his delivery was just as good as the spirit/energy. And they did a nice job telling some stories in the build up to Sting's last match."
[6.0] "The match quality was not really at the level you expect from AEW but I thought the segment with Garcia and the Patriarchy was very good. Garcia is becoming a really well rounded TV performer rather than just a good in ring worker. Stings promo was an all timer in emotion, I want him to murder the fucking Bucks. The womens programme is so weird, Deonna is getting no help wrestling in front of audiences not familiar with her again very weak lower card workers so she can't even put on a good match."
[4.0] "An ok dynamite that felt like it dragged throughout a good portion of the show. A solid opener and a fine main event but everything in-between was pretty mixed with an effective promo with Garcia/Christian as well as a fantastic backstage promo with Darby and Sting but then two pretty dull matches and a squash in the middle. Much of the show felt stretched to meet the runtime. The crowd was energetic at times and extremely cold at others (not that the matchmaking was particularly inspiring.)"
[8.0] "Two strong bookends this week in the opener and the main event, with a bit of a soft middle, but the show did its job in furthering the build towards Revolution, with almost every match on the show getting some kind of build."
[9.0] "A fun episode of Dynamite from top to bottom. The opening tag match was a hot and those guys work really well together. Felt like the match was just getting going when the bell rang. Can't wait for the match at Revolution. Orange Cassidy feels like he's been revving back up as champion and his reign feels a lot more like the first one now than it has in previous months. Toni's match was whatever but I liked seeing Madison Rayne back in an AEW ring against Deonna. Wardlow cut the best promo of his career but nothing on the show could ever top that incredible Sting promo. Holy smokes. That was some of the best stuff of his career. And the main event was loads of fun. The hot crowd helped make up for some shortcomings but it really kept my hype for Revolution. An easy two hour watch."
[7.0] "A normal program, but not catastrophic as some mention. The opening was spectacular, a good match between everyone involved and a correct decision to tie. I have always thought that I would much rather have a fight end in a draw than in a DQ, but we should not overexploit this resolution of fights either, only in moments where it is correct. The next segment between both tag teams was very good, I liked it. Then came the fight between Orange vs Bennett, honestly, I didn't like it 100%, but within the story that Cassidy has with Strong it is correct, thus a connecting thread continues that will end in Revolution, so he accepted it. The women's fights were very low, I would say that it was the most disappointing thing about the show and I was surprised by Rayne's in-ring level, but I can understand that she has just come back from her injury, but she has a low fight. The segment between them was "correct." The main event was very good, an entertaining and well-synchronized fight between everyone involved. The last thing I want to highlight is the high quality of the promos today, I know that many hate this aspect and prefer to just watch wrestling, but the promos help create characters and be able to enter their psychology. The promo between Cage and Garcia was fantastic, a marked heel vs an underrated one who has everything to lose in Revolution, everything was handled very well. Then, Sting's magnificent promo, my skin crawled at the end of his speech. Finally, Wardlow's promo was incredible, the best of his career and with a tone similar to Scott Steiner's promos. The truth is that it wasn't a bad program, but there were aspects of it that I didn't like, nor did most people. 7/10."
[6.0] "This was not a good Dynamite...Period. Were there good things in it, yes. But lord help me, it was not enough to live up to current standards. The show opened with an incredible match between BCC and FTR. It's the reason to watch this show if you have no other reason and with the rest of the card and the way the matches went, you probably don't. They did 3 (THREE) promo segments back to back. OC talking to a Doctor, an OC video package SHOWING what was just said, and then an FTR post match promo that was actually really good. Then OC wrestles and for me, it was an absolute borefest. After that, 3 more promo pieces. Ruby Soho and Angelo Parker finally go on their date (which I love see, especially since we didn't see anything other than them going there), Ric Flair says some inane shit and then hints a heel turn, and then we go into the ring for a Daniel Garcia chat segment that got interrupted by Christian (which was good and should definitely be watched). Toni and Deonna had back to back matches. Toni's was a nice little aggressive squash, so no complaints there, but the Deonna match was an absolute stinker. I tittered on giving it a full dud rating and SETTLED on giving it a 1. Madison Rayne is not it chief and I would have really liked to see Deonna work someone a bit more challenging to give her a little heat before the PPV. This was a SLAMMING on the brakes for her and she really didn't need it. THEN THERE WERE 4 MORE PROMO PACKAGES. All 4 of these were really good, but still. The 6-man was aight. Your mileage may vary on that based on how much you love RVD, which I do. A lot. I'm sure there are people who love this pacing, I am not one of them. I'm not going to turn off the TV, but a couple more weeks of this and I certainly won't run to catch it live."
[9.0] "Felt like a really strong go home episode of dynamite for the PPV, which is what you want it to feel like when you're this close to the ppv. Excellent opener between FTR and BCC, looking forward to seeing how they top it at the PPV. Lots of really great promo segments as well with Garcia, Wardlow and Sting being highlights. Main event was a very fun trios match with lots of interesting characters reconnecting with each other, loved seeing HOOK and Joe face off again, really can't wait for that three way match at the ppv."
[4.0] "Adequate is the perfect word for tonight's Dynamite. When you add the greatness of Christian Cage, the fire of Daniel Garcia, the emotion from Sting, the over- no- matter-what feel of Samoa Joe and Swerve, the real from Wardlow and RVD with the M-m-m-m-mid everything else you get an adequate show. First match was one of FTR's worst of their great careers imo. I'll go more in depth in that match rating. Parts of OC v Bennett you could hear a pin drop, same with the women's matches. Flair didn't help either."
[6.0] "This show was affected by injuries and other issues as stated by Tony Khan and ended up being decent in spite of those issues. However, because Dynamite has set such a high standard for itself, this show was underwhelming. There were some positives with the Tag and Trios matches being quite good, and some solid promos from Christian/DG and Wardlow. The women's matches were not great, but the overall direction heading into Revolution makes sense and feels very personal. A rare miss from Dynamite, and the first one of 2024."
[9.0] "Good episode of dynamite. Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley vs. FTR was really good. Orange Cassidy vs Mike Bennett was also decent. Toni Storm beat a local talent, and Deonna Purrazzo defeated Madison Rayne. Hangman adam page, RVD and hook had a good backstage segment. Christian cage remains one of wrestling best heels with his promo against Daniel garcia. I think Daniel garcia will be the next tnt champion. Samoa Joe, Brian Cage and Swerve Strickland defeated Hangman adam page, Rvd and Hook in a good main event."
[6.0] "Tonight was kind of an unfortunate night for AEW because this show was very much not the planned show they had. TK said as much on twitter that there were a lot of injuries and other issues that affected this episode. I thought the promo segments on this show were largely very good (especially the Christian/DG segment) and the opening tag match with FTR/BCC was good (although I question why they did another time limit draw two weeks after they did one for Swerve/Hangman). I thought Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne was a complete fucking trainwreck. Madison Rayne has been wrestling since like 2005 and she's gotten worse every time I've seen her. How are you this bad if you've been doing this for 19 years? She almost destroyed her neck taking a flatliner too which looked gnarly. Thankfully she's ok though but yikes, that match. Main event trios match was surprisingly sloppy tbh. Last few minutes were good but it took a while to get there. Not the strongest night for AEW but like I said earlier, they were dealt a bad hand so it's not entirely their fault."
[7.0] "Certainly a weaker dynamite show than the past few weeks due to the amount of unavaliable talent/injuries as Tony Khan originally tweeted out, but still a good show, tonight the promo game is what absolutely shined in Daniel Garcia truly coming out swinging and feeling like he's ready for the big time, and Christian Cage being his usual absolutely outstanding heel, aswell as Sting cutting a deep passionate promo really driving home how important his retirement match is and finally Wardlow feeling like a real threat, the opener absolutely ruled and I loved that the time limit draw was in the middle of a move this time and not during a pinfall, plus the chaotic fight aftermath was fantastic, Mike Bennett and Orange Cassidy was a completely fine tv match, and now unfortunately the women this week let the show down, Toni Storm's quick squash was fine, but it needed a promo afterwards, and my god whatever happened with Madison Rayne tonight I truly feel sorry for Deonna having to deal with a dreadful opponent tonight, spiking herself on the head was some insane stuff, but we did recover with a great chaotic 6 man main event with Samoa Joe getting some shine as he's been VERY SLIGHTLY overshadowed by the main feud between Hangman and Swerve, Joe needs to continue to show why he is the baddest MF'er on the planet, a good show tonight but weaker than the past few which have been tippity top tier."
