[7.0] "a casual dream match to open the show which was excellent before a great promo by danielson. the tag match was great fun and nick falling was hilarious. jericho was horrible but then the women's match was decent with the correct winner, mone is still doing nothing yet. annoyingly the kingdom lost again, no idea what the plans are for this faction. the main event was excellent, swerve sold his arm so well and kept takeshita strong"
[8.0] "Another great episode of Dynamite; March was a great month of TV on the Dynamite side of things. We get two tag matches on this episode which sets up the tag tourney semi-finals to be Young Bucks vs Best friends. Speaking of Young Bucks, they are great on this episode; their backstage interview with Renee and abusing the EVP-evator were both great. The show opened with Will Ospreay vs Katsuyori Shibata; which turned out to be my favourite match of the night, though it was close with the main event. My least favourite match was the second tag; it was the only match here I didn't actively really enjoy. There was a great video package on Bryan Danielson narrated by Excalibur on this show. There's new number one contenders decided on this show in Willow Nightengale for the TBS title and Swerve Strickland for the World Title. The worst segment in my eyes was the setup for Butcher vs Dustin Rhodes, but the Lion Hook interview was down there too. A highly enjoyable show here overall."
[7.0] "My memory is a little hazy because I'm rating this show later on due to missing the main event originally, but this show was good. I feel that it didn't quite reach the same high as other episodes of Dynamite despite the good opener and great main event. [MOTN: Konosuke Takeshita vs. Swerve Strickland]"
[8.0] "Something about this show felt slightly off, I don't know why. Maybe it was due to the weak crowd or maybe I wasn't as into the show as usual but overall this was a really good match. It could've been better but it keeps the streak of great shows on going. Shibata vs. Ospreay opening the show just proves the incredible depth of this roster and what a match this was. Both men knocked it out of the park here. Really good stuff all around. They showed a Bryan Danielson's video package right afterwards and it was easily one of the best things produced from AEW in a long time. I wish they could stuff like this more often. Young Bucks vs. Private Party was super fun, not as good as their first back in 2019, but still a really enjoyable bout. The women's four way was really good, the women's division is on fire right now. Skye Blue and Kris Statlander continue to impress me. Also Willow as the next challenger for Julia Hart's TBS title is the best choice. OC/Beretta vs. United Kingdom was okay. Takeshita vs. Swerve was a fantastic main event, match of the night. Both of them are easily amongst the best wrestlers in the world right now. Swerve is more likely going to dethrone Joe at Dynasty but Takeshita has future world champ written all over him. Overall: there were two great match plus two other really fun bouts but, like I said, something felt off throughout the entire night. I felt like there it should've been at least one in-ring talking segment and the backstage segments we got were super ankward like the Jericho/Hook one or the Dustin Rhodes/Butcher promo. Also the show was extremely predictable, every match had a clear winner and that took something away from the show. Some up and downs but the positive aspects of the show definitely outweight the negative ones."
[5.0] "I Should've liked this show more based on the opening and main event matches alone, but they were both let downs in different ways. The opener while you could call it a good match did absolutely nothing for me, I've seen this one before, Ospreay needs a little edge to him if hes gonna be on tv more, having the same match every time hes here is already getting old. The 2 tag matches were pretty uninspiring as well, the bucks vs private party Should've felt like a bigger deal than what it was but lets be real private party havent been relevant since 2019. The bucks new gimmick is pretty hit and miss too. I'm very done with OC in general now and even putting him in tag matches wont make him fresh, much like Jericho he just needs to go away for a bit and add some new ideas to his presentation and character. The women's 4 way was fine but im very bored of the same women getting the same spots over and over and having Mercedes on commentary really brought this down even more (she was never a great talker). At least the story with willow and Mercedes is seemingly going somewhere (probs a match a Dynasty). The main event was fine, but the result was obvious to even a blind man. Swerve was rightfully crowned the no1 contender and im glad the build for Swerve vs Joe can start now, but this match didnt do either man any favours imo."
[7.0] "Great opener. Ospreay really works well in AEW. Nice to see Private Party back. The women's match was alright. They really need some other midcard wrestlers though. Feels like it is always Anna Jay and Skye Blue. Undisputed Kingdom are boring. Main event was great. Really good booking having such a strong opening and main event. Hopefully Dynamite can continue being this good."
[6.0] "Mixed feelings on this one. The opener was cold and never engaged me. Was it a good match? Sure, but like many Ospreay matches there's nothing that makes me care. It was too long for a match with a foregone conclusion as well. I disagree with previous comments that every match had an obvious winner though, aside from the opener there was definitely a chance for any of the rest to switch up the results.... they just DIDN'T. I was most looking forward to the Bucks/Party match, and it was solid, with some hard hitting offense from particularly Nick. I also liked the More Bang spot from Private Party, and Matt Jackson fist bumping Quen after the EVP trigger was top tier troll shit. Thought the ladies match was very good, had some great ending sequences. I'm so tired of seeing Orange as the same damn character for years now. If they aren't going to change it up then get him off the TV. And anyone still fantasy booking the Best Friends to win any kind of belts in 2024 must be actively trying to kill an already ice cold tag division. Undisputed Kingdom are all good workers, they're just boring as fuck. What can be done about that? I think probably not much. Main event was highly exciting, and had enough of a story going in that I did think it was possible Take might win. Also WTF was that Jericho/Hook segment."
[6.0] "There are several matches on this show which, by pure match quality alone, you could stick on a PPV somewhere and most people would probably be quite happy with. AEW has a great roster and they don't hurt for quality match-ups. What's really missing is a compelling story - even just one. Other stuff: Shibata probably got his brain shaken up a little more than usual in that match and is still alive, Don's promos with the red lighting and metallic background look really good, and the tag tournament is not really interesting at all and feels like a necessity rather than something anyone really wants to see."
[7.0] "This was undeniably a good show, two "dream" matches on television, not one single really terrible match, and I understand if some people rate this very highly, but I guess it wasn't for me, and the fact that it had the worst audience in a wednesday since 2020 is the proof that I'm not crazy, and AEW needs to figure it out some direction. Again, the show wasn't bad and the matches were satisfying, but I just missed some big moment, some huge thing on a huge story, and they don't have that."
[8.0] "As a weekly developmental episode of what we'll see in AEW Dynasty I think it's pretty good overall, there wasn't much promo, but the storylines were followed well and they were good fights too, so it's pretty good."
[8.0] "Dynamite has been on a roll lately, and this show continues their run of form. Every match on here was at least good. The opening match between Will Osprey and Katsuyori Shibata was fantastic and showcased a different side of Osprey then we've seen so far. The Young Bucks vs. Private Party match was a predictable step in the story they're telling, but it was still an enjoyable match. The four-way between Anna Jay, Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue, and Kris Statlander was a very good match, although Mercedes Mone on commentary hurt it a bit. It seems to take people who are used to being scripted a little time to settle into AEW's more free-flowing style. If you needed a pee break, the match between Best Friends and the Undisputed Kingdom was the time to take it, although it was still a decent match in its own right. Finally, we got the match of the night from Swerve Strickland and Konosuke Takeshita, proving that the old guard can still hang, even with the recent influx of talent."
[8.0] "Solid episode of Dynamite with a strong opening match and main event. Still a Dynamite in transition as we move into the Ospreay/Swerve/Okada/Mercedes era."
[6.0] "It was a fine show. Couple insanely good matches, one really good one, and then 2 rampage mid card matches. Starts off with a really good Ospreay / Shibata match. I could not say enough nice things about it. Shibata looks great, wrestles great, and can consistently pull very nice 3.50 star matches out of his ass and Will gave him plenty of the room to do his thing the interjection spots were very good to build tension and I think it was honestly a very respectable 4 star match. It wasn't an all-timer or anything but I loved that match and am saving it to watch again in the future. Then there's a lot of promo segments. This is a running theme in this episode and it's rather short and doesn't detract too much, but AEW builds excitement with in-ring action. I don't think these segments do much to keep an AEW audience and it's certainly not going to draw the people who cried for them to come watch the show. The Bucks / Private Party match was pretty mid. It felt like the Bucks were trying to force these guys to move faster to match the pace of a Bucks match of old. I didn't really love it and frankly I didn't really like it, but there it was. The women's 4-way was excellent. Those ladies are all really good right now and the match showed it out. Next match was a real time killer and I couldn't be asked to care. I say this literally every AEW show but I'm really sick of Orange Cassidy. I think he's awful at this point. I've seen his match 1000 times and I just don't look at the screen when he's on it. The only good thing in this match was Bennet's selling of a stunner. That's how you fucking do it! This match was an absolute drag on the show and when OC gets his shit pushed in to the Young Bucks next week, I hope he goes home for a nice long time. Then we wrap up the show with an awesome match that I feel only helped both guys. Takeshita is undeniable at this point. As long as his presentation doesn't change. He's the best he's going to be for a nice long time and his in-ring talent makes every match against a competent opponent a minimum 4.25 star match. Swerve is absolutely that opponent. Is he perfect? No. He's definitely good enough to put a title on and not regret it, but I think you can get him much hotter before you do it and you have a decade long top guy babyface. I don't know about belting him up at Dynasty, but when the match is so good that you're in that headspace, it's a banger from some of the best guys in the business. I went 4.5 on this bad boy. Overall, it was a perfectly serviceable Dynamite and good for a random Wednesday in March."
[4.0] "If we're honest with ourselves last night's show was ass. Just not enough emotional investment in almost anything I saw. 1st match: knew Ospreay was gonna win, don't care enough about Shibata to care 2nd match: bucks heel run so far has been a disaster imo. Didn't care enough. 3rd match: the women killed it. Great work by all involved.wish they had 5 more minutes. 4th match: skipped it, didn't care. Main event: was excellent but...once TK said it was for #1 contender when takeshita lost to Ospreay last outing made zero sense. It actually gave away to me that Swerve was winning because , duh! . Overall: a dud."
[8.0] "Strong show as we build to Dynasty. Good opener, decent tag team match that showed just how scummy The Young Bucks have become (minus the EVP Trigger botch that the commentary team covered up as a stutter step lol), Willow getting her shot at the TBS title (Mercedes was not good at all on commentary to the point that I had to mute to the end of the match), and Swerve and Takeshita show out in the main event. Swerve vs. Joe is going to be so good, and I can honestly see Swerve walking out with the title and feud with Hangman once again when he comes back. The Best Friends match was the only blight as we, once again, show that The Undisputed Kingdom is utterly useless as a heel faction. They are not threatening or intimidating whatsoever."
[8.0] "From an in-ring perspective, this might've been the strongest Dynamite in 2024. Not a single match under-delivered, and both the opener and the main event were exceptional displays of modern wrestling. The worst thing you can say about this episode is that the booking was predictable (which isn't a bad thing, but it can make the episode feel slightly less memorable). The angles they're building for Dynasty all look to be moving in a coherent direction (which follows up on the same pattern from the Revolution build), and I thought this episode featured some really well-produced video packages for Danielson, Copeland, and Toni Storm. It was also good to see quality tag team wrestling featured in a prominent way again."
[5.0] "Started so well but could not keep it up. Shibata was unleashed and made his fans proud. Then the Danielson video and Bucks promo were both entertaining. The Bucks looked great in their match but screwed up the last two minutes. Mercedes was dreadful on commentary, but I'm sure she'll improve. The Kingdom suck. Finally, Swerve and Takeshita showed Tony Khan that he can't just put any two of his best performers together and expect magic. They were both decent, but not up to their individual level."
[7.0] "A bit of a step down compared to their more recent efforts. A stellar main event, a really good women's match, and an opener that was great, though expectations may have been too high considering the work the performers were doing prior to this event. The two tag matches, however, left a bit to be desired. Not every show is going to be a 10 pointer, though, and the fact that AEW's weaker performance is still a 7 at this point in times means they're doing good, and Dynasty looks really promising."
[9.0] "Last two weeks were brilliant and they brought me back as a regular viewer of Dynamite. AEW is on a hot run right now. The show is paced well and action is very fast. But something felt off in this show. AEW has a great roster with some interesting characters but I hate that irrelevant undisputed Kingdom, aana Jay, private party and shibata were on the TV today. They are great wrestlers but irrelevant to the current PPV build. These guys are hell of a performers and can be put on Rampage/Collision but I don't like their presence on Dynamite. 4 out of 5 matches felt out of place in this show but promos/segments didn't have any impact and they were well produced. If AEW wants to hook me up as a viewer, please limit these irrelevant superstars to other shows and put only main characters on dynamite. But overall the show was great."
[10.0] "This was such a good show with literally 3 outstanding matches and people are acting like it was very mid or average somehow. I don't know how this one is going under the radar so badly. Weekly Osperay matches are wonderful, as much as I hate Kinosuke losing all the time he constantly proves in every match he's one of the best in the company easily. The women's match was actually one of the best of the year and I hate people think short multi-personnel matches are some how bad because there's 'too much' going on or something silly like that. The only 'not great' match really was Best Friends vs Kingdom, and for me personally this cuz I really do not like Trent Bereta even a little bit and he weighs everything down."
[8.0] "From the in-ring perspective, it was a fantastic show (there wasn't a match that I rated below 3 stars), with the opener and the main event being the highlights of the show. On the other hand, some of the promos felt very "tasteless", the exception being the Bucks doing another great heel job. Mercedes on the commentary was also kinda, I don't know, just regular; not bad, but you always expect a lot more from her."
[6.0] "This card had some interesting matches on paper, but ended up pretty disappointing in execution. It all felt very lifeless to me. Just a long series of matches with predictable results and very little in the way of story. Structurally it didn't feel all too different from a modern indy show, just with a few backstage interviews sprinkled in here and there. Nothing felt particularly consequential or like it had any real meaning behind it (yes, I know some of the matches had stakes, but they were so predictable that it didn't feel like it) and nothing ever made me feel excited, either. Frankly, I just never felt like I was given a reason to care about anything that was happening. The brief backstage segment where Dustin spoke about nothing in particular so he could be interrupted by Butcher of all people, who made a joke (because everybody in AEW has to do some level of comedy) before referencing a long dead feud to set up a random and meaningless match on Rampage felt like a microcosm of a lot of my issues with AEW at the moment - so much of the show just feels like it's names pulled out of a hat doing the same thing over and over again, and so little of it ever goes anywhere meaningful. The wrestling was decent enough to still get a low level positive rating (despite the main event unfortunately failing to live up to my expectations), but this was a pretty cold episode of Dynamite for me."
[4.0] "I know it's almost Easter but it's one of the most boring episode ever. I can't believe I'm saying this buy... The only interesting stuff Is about women! Ospreay vs Shibata is a gymnastic show, the tournament has 0 interest and the main event is good but useless."
[8.0] "Great show this week. The opener and the main event were the perfect bookends for a Dynamite show. Starting and ending the night with notebook matches featuring stars headed for big time pay-per-view matches is how you promote a wrestling event. The tag matches were both solid, with the Young Bucks match approaching great. The women's four-way joins the storied tradition of AEW women's four-ways as another passable match. This women's division is at it's best in tags and multi-person matches that mitigate the limitations of the performers and allow them to focus on their best spots. The thing that keeps this show from being a classic is the sloppiness. Every match except the opener perhaps, had at least one noticeable botch. The most egregious were the finish of the Bucks PP match, and Willow politely pausing and putting her head through the ropes to patiently wait for a Skye Blue kick. Luckily, none of the matches fell apart, so the sloppiness didn't ruin anything."
[9.0] "A much better show than last week. Fantastic fight between Ospreay and Shibata, although I felt that it took a little more time to have a perfect climax. I liked the Bucks vs Private Party fight, it's just that the ending with botch threw me off a little. I loved the women's fight, they were all synchronized and the pace of the fight was fast to my liking. The lowest fight of the night was between Best Friends and Undisputed Kingdom, it felt slow and with very little chemistry between everyone involved. The main event was spectacular, Takeshita deserves much more in the future, he is an incredible fighter who can have great fights with everyone. Swerve outstanding as always on his way to the world title. The segments were short, but precise. I felt the program was much more dynamic, fast-paced and fun. 9/10."
[9.0] "Yeah It looks like the Wembley All In main event is set (Ospreay vs Swerve) as one of them opened the show and the other closed it (both had incredible matches). Young Bucks are on a run of a lifetime with this new gimmick and also they've got their fire back, really good tv match tonight which highlighted how great Private Party are (They're the future). Really thought the women's match was really great as all the women came to prove a point. Mone's introduction has really awoken something in all of the women in this division and they are on their way to being the #1 division in north America. Swerve/Take was a barnburner and both guys are the future/present of AEW."
[3.0] "Oof. This show was rough. Tag team tournament is ice COLD and is very clearly just buffering until MCMG's debut. The Swerve/Takeshita match was surprisingly low tier work from both men with a way too obvious outcome. Ospreay/Shibata was fun! But also stagnant and did very little for either men. Tony Khan is back to his boring "wrestling ONLY" booking. No feud feels hot, no star presence on the show, no in-ring live mic. Best Friends are awful. Young Bucks are GREAT but Private Party are the drizzling shits. A Dustin Rhodes backstage promo? In 2024? Give me a fucking break. The guy isn't even on his retirement run and TK has ZERO excuse to put him on Dynamite without an angle. Also, Jericho and Hook stuff is just so fucking painful to watch. The most disingenuous desperate Jericho bullshit thus far. Just a very boring disappointing episode overall."
[10.0] "Phenomenal episode Dynamite, bookended by the clear stars of the company, Swerve and Ospreay. The opener was an excellent match that continued to showcase Will Ospreay to a new audience while making Shibata out to be a challenge and a mountain to climb, given their previous encounters. Young Bucks vs. Private Party had a bit of a clunky finish but the match itself was very exciting throughout with great call backs to their previous affairs. The four way women's match was a surprise hit and all four ladies did an incredible job making their case for a shot at the title but the story has clearly been centered around Willow Nightingale and the relationship with Stokely has been a surprisingly great combination. Best Friends vs. Undisputed Kingdom was another sleeper hit that delivered on all fronts and really made Kingdom feel like a strong killer tag team. Best Friends could be a cinderella story in this tournament. The best match was the main event. The vignettes throughout the night built to it strongly and it felt like it delivered everywhere it needed to. Swerve looked resilient, playing off of the injuries earlier in the match and Takeshita looked like a monster that could not be stopped. One of the best Dynamite main events probably ever and it really feels like they have their next top star on their hands. Excellent show. No complaints."
[8.0] "Two fantastic matches. Everything else was snacks compared to opener & finisher but they were a treat to watch anyway. YB finally had a competitive match in which Private Party had a decent chance of winning. You don't doubt YB was going to win but close falls still were executed decently and YB is carrying their current persona better than their previous heel gimmicks. I like the doucheness of them. Four Way match exceeded the expectations although it was quite clear Nightingale was going to win. She's highly likely to leave Dynasty as the TBS champion and move onto a feud with Mone up from there. In the match itself nothing really happened between Statlander and Nightingale. I can't quite tell if those two fall off eventually but given Statlander's increasing track record of losing something needs to happen. Best Friends vs The Kingdom was an average tv match, probably the worst of the bunch. Not solely because of its structure, it really did have its moments but The Kingdom despite being the ROH World Tag Champs and being in a supposedly dominating faction usually come off as goofs. It's not like there are many options: You are either not going to book them into the tournament or you'll have them winning at least the first round. Commentary team suggested Kingdom could be looking for to unify ROH&AEW tag belts which didn't help the situation a bit. You just don't do that. The booking of Undisputed Kingdom (especially the Kingdom though) has been going downhill recently and Roddy's win really didn't give them the momentum they needed. On the other hand, Best Friends is the New Day of AEW's expect for the fact they are underpushed. CHAOS needs the trios belts asap if not a whole heel turn for them all (perhaps minus OC). Main Event killed it and that's all you need to know about it. Takeshita could be a worthy contender to defeat Edge (or even going back to face to defeat Okada later). I hope that sooner than later AEW will decide to put a belt on him and he'll have a memorable reign. Swerve on the other hand is most definitely going to dethrone Joe, the question is how."
"Great opener and main event. A year ago, Swerve and Takeshita were fighting for consistent TV time and now they are competing to become #1 contender for the World title. Meanwhile, Will Ospreay knows how to have a fantastic TV-length match. Solid (if unmemorable) matches in the middle."
[8.0] "This was a strong episode both in the ring and the backstage segments. I would say that the only misses were the awkward Jericho/Hook segment and seeing the charisma black holes Undisputed Kingdom on my tv again. Ospreay has a solid opener with Shibata that nobody thought Ospreay would lose, but as a showcase match it did the job. The backstage segment with the Bucks, with Nick almost corpsing Renee was fun, as was the following tag match with Private Party. The Bucks have a history of losing matches people are certain they're going to win, so I wasn't 100% certain who would win there. The ladies put on a good show with some hard hitting spots. Not sure how necessary the match was, given Julia does many open challenges, but that's whatever. I think Willow has a good chance of winning at Dynasty and she's put in the work to deserve it. I laughed when the Bucks interrupted the Best Friend's hug, only to go BACK DOWN the fucking elevator one minute later, they're so stupid and I love it. Main event was great, but I'll be sad to see Joe lose his title to Swerve, not because I don't love Swerve but just because Joe is so great at promos as champion. Please shift Takeshita to the International scene and belt him up ffs."
[8.0] "This was a very good episode of Dynamite with a lot of action. The Ospreay vs Shibata match was decent; Bucks vs Private Party was alright; The Women's Fatal Four Way was very good and showcased each talent extremely well and this was probably Anna Jay's best match of her career. Best Friends vs Undisputed Kingdom was all alright as well. The best part of the night was Swerve vs Takeshita and it was an outstanding match/ main event. Overall I give this an 8/10; a really strong episode of AEW Dynamite."
[10.0] "Fantastic episode of dynamite tonight. Its absolutely clear that Swerve and Ospreay are the future of the company and heading towards an epic clash down the line. loved both the opener and the main event tonight, with tons of good stuff in between. still a ways to go before the PPV but all the big matches are already taking shape nicely. the two tag tournament matches delivered as well and the ladies 4 way was really entertaining. AEW dynamite has been on a great run as of late and tonight continued that great streak in my opinion"
[8.0] "Very good episode in terms of wrestling 1. Ospreay is a legit star 2. We're lucky to still have Shibata performing at this level 3. The bucks with a challenging match finally and they are still great and I think they are ready to carry the titles again, the Elite are doing good 4. Private Party did a great job and I hope they don't lose TV time 5. Best friends get their flowers but their time is over by next week 6. Undisputed Kingdom need a lot of work they are still behind me unfortunately 7. Swerve and Takeshita really did what I thought they will will and even exceeded"
[8.0] "Tonight had a much more sedate feel than the past few weeks, and maybe that's for the best; the product has certainly been cantering along at top gear since just before Revolution and, in all honesty, I think we should take a breather episode when we can get it. There really wasn't a single bad match on the card - indeed, the curtain-jerker and main event were both really good - but there was definitely some lack of energy that stops the show from being that much greater than the sum of its parts."
[8.0] "A great show by AEW again, something missing a little bit imo to make it an all time great but not every episode needs to be that, but if every episode was like this I would be a very happy chappy, great womens action felt like all the women are really giving it their all, some very fun tag stuff especially nice to see Private Party in the mix again, Ospreay and Shibata while it got a little too kickouty at the last bit of the match was still a very fun affair and the main event between two top acts chasing the world title is absolutely top notch, what I want to see, the world title having this much of a meaning for Swerve and Takeshita, also top marks to the powerbomb into a swerve double stomp counter, and absolute thing if beauty that could very easily mess up but it didn't because they're both elite level pro wrestling, wonderful stuff and aswell we got some very nice video packages too, really the best thing about this show tho? The flow of it, super easy to watch, not doing 6 matches stuffing in too much, just 5 damn worth while matches."
