[6.0] "Slightly above-average just for the inclusion of Swerve/RVD. Everything else felt like filler or underdelivered. A solid amount of matches, definitely a miss overall."
[9.0] "One of those Dynamites I had low expectations for and it overdelivered! I really enjoyed this show from start to finish. The introduction of CMLL was cool with them beating down Mox. It felt like when the outsiders showed up in WWE. Page and Liona had a war that really had me locked in. The low point was the Wardlow match with Wardlow sustaining a knee injury. Purrazzo vs. Taya was fun and I enjoyed Toni on commentary, it was quite funny. RVD has found the mountain of youth and had a roaring affair with Swerve."
[6.0] "It was a strange Dynamite for me, I enjoyed their fights but I couldn't swallow the show in the best way, Swerve vs RVD was the best, high points Toa, MOX, and Fletcher, their fight doesn't seem bad or average to me as the people think guys here, for me it was a 7.0, I hope the next Dynamite is better structured."
[6.0] "This felt like kind of a filler week for Dynamite. The matches were all pretty enjoyable, albeit with predictable results. The highlight was probably the angle between Moxley and the CMLL guys. It would have been nice to move one of the big matches from next week's show forward to give this episode a bit more oomph"
"Great show. Not a single bad match, everything was at an average level and above. The main event evoked pleasant feelings of nostalgia and generally brightened the entire episode."
[8.0] "Overall really good episode of dynamite, we still have a long way to go till aew revolution and the journey is just beginning. Anticipating tomorrows episode collision which should be a banger."
[6.0] "Massive improvement on last week, which is saying absolutely nothing. Fair few of these matches had a little bit of sauce, but it's mostly just perfectly fine and bland matches with bland story progression everywhere but the main event."
[6.0] "This was a rough show. It started and finished strong, but the middle was just painful. We opened with Jeff Hardy taking on Jon Moxley in a dream match from a different era. unfortunately, by this point, Hardy was substantially slower. Adam Page then took on Toa Liona an a match the pleasantly surprised me. Wardlow and Komander were better than most people on here seem to think, but still wasn't good. Chris Jericho then took on Kyle Fletcher in a painfully boring match. Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie had a decent match with a brutal finish. Finally, we got the Match of the Night in the form of a Hardcore Match between rob Van Dam and Swerve Strickland."
[7.0] "Some rough patches in an otherwise solid show. The hits: The small crowd still showed out, Toni Storm on commentary, Hangman and Swerve matches, and the backstage segments involving Sting, Starks, and the Bucks. The acceptable: Moxley match, Jericho match, women's match. The bad: Wardlow/Komander and anything to do with the Undisputed Kingdom."
[4.0] "Not a very good show tbh. The best parts were as always the hangman/swerve stuff and then the tease of a CMLL invasion could be interesting. Alot of the matches on the show werent exciting on paper and didnt deliver on the show. Wardlow could definitely be a main event level star but they never seem to really push him which is a shame."
[3.0] "I have been very high on AEW recently but this show was a bust in my eyes. In spirit it felt copy & pasted from the previous week, and felt like it was just buying time until the mini-PPV we get on Dynamite next week (Swerve vs Hangman for title shot, Takeshita vs Jericho, tag title match, CMLL vs BCC - that's a crazy card). The match of the night was RVD vs Swerve, but even that match just felt like stat-padding filler to set up for next week. Fletcher vs Jericho should have been better, and it's not Fletcher's fault. The Undisputed Kingdom presence felt extremely underwhelming, but glad they got Adam Cole on commentary for that match. The two opening matches were solid but nothing to write home about. Hopefully Hardy doesn't get forgotten after his current singles run. The show was not particularly exciting and you could definitely have skipped this week's episode without consequence. The good news is that next week's Dynamite will almost certainly bring the heat"
[7.0] "Hot and cold show. But strong showings by people who will be in the biggest matches at the PPV - Hanger, Swerve, Joe, The Young Bucks, Darby & Sting - is a good place to be a month out, and the fantasy booking potential of the CMLL angle (plus Mox-post show promo) is a fun bonus. A summer show in Arena Mexico TK, please."
[4.0] "In isolation none of the matches were terrible. Some better, some worse. However, the event as a whole just seems so random, so uneven, without much exitement. No surprises or anything. It was pretty much a flat line, no high highs, no absolute lows. Mainevent was easily the high point with regard to matches. There was not a whole lot in terms of promos. Sure the Young Bucks continue their new gimmick of douchey EVPs, Toni and Joe on commentary, a scissor gang in ring segment, Daddy Ass was fun for a couple months but like every good thing it has its shelf life, Acclaimed should reinvent themselves, if possible. Same for Cardblade. All in all, a show full of filler, treading water until Revolution. For me, the show is not radiating that energy of 2021 anymore. Maybe that's what the mean when they talk about wanting to restore the feeling."
[7.0] "Since all of the matches had predictable outcomes (i.e., when the card was announced, winners were fairly obvious), this episode focused more on advancing the Revolution feuds and building up challengers to the belts. With that said, I liked in in-ring work from both the Hangman/Liona and Swerve/RVD matches. Those were both worthy of the time given to them and all four wrestlers stepped up with good performances (Liona, in particular, surprised me as a quality singles competitor). The CMLL vs BCC angle should be a fun distraction in early February until the Revolution stuff hits a crescendo, and the Young Bucks/EVP stuff is solid. I might be in the minority, but the Bang Bang Scissor Gang story remains enjoyable to me and I'm looking forward to the eventual match between them. From a formatting perspective, I thought the Jericho/Fletcher match ran a little long, and it's now imperative that they stick the landing with Takeshita so he can move on. I'm not usually one to demand a booking outcome but it should resemble a squash."
[2.0] "This very well may have been the worst Dynamite of, at least, the last 13 months. The booking is so disjointed and random that the viewer can't help but think they missed something even though they watch all of AEW's viewing. A man walks into your home, he messes with your newborn's crib, so you don't book him against Minoru Suzuki or Lance Archer or someone from the independent scene like Nick Gage (which they did with Jericho v MJF years ago) or Krule but against 53 year old Rob Van Dam? The idea that Swerve Strickland would book Adam Page against Toa Liona when there is Powerhouse Hobbs, Luchasaurus or the aforementioned 4 wrestlers available is...not logical. The different factions make little to no sense. We are getting part three of The Acclaimed v The Gunn Club (but who will Billy align with this time) because Tony loves to re-run feuds like he's re-reading Choose Your Own Adventure books. How many times have the Blackpool Combat Club gone face to heel to face in the last 12 months? AEW has come completely off the rails and I hope Tony Khan has the self-awareness to bring people in to address these (& other) issues."
[6.0] "This episode was less entertaining that others in 2024. Wasn't bad, but wasn't in the level that AEW is operating in this early 2024. The opener and the main event were the highlights of the show."
[3.0] "For me this might be one of the worst dynamites in AEW history. This was bookmarked by two solid matches in Mox/Hardy and Swerve/RVD, but man absolutely everything by in between was hot garbage. The entire show had me yearning for 2021 AEW days when the entire show was cant miss. It looks like they have a solid card scheduled next week so Im praying for a grounded bounce back show"
[7.0] "Another setup episode of Dynamite, but they've stacked the deck for next week in Phoenix. Not much to shout about here other than the Swerve/RVD brawl, and maybe CMLL waging war on Blackpool Combat Club, but it was still an easy watch."
[6.0] "Felt like last week's Dynamite 2.0, and a set up for the next Dynamite, that already have a stacked line-up, so it was a filler show. Seeing the luchadores attacking Moxley and possibly setting up an AEW vs CMLL angle was great, and RVD showed great things again. Apart from that, I don't think I would say this is a necessary watch."
[9.0] "A very good episode of Dynamire that overdelivered everywhere it possibly could. Jeff Hardy has been considered slow and over-the-hill, but he came through with an excellent opener with Jon Moxley. Toa Liona has never mattered on AEW TV and I was certain the match with Hangman would be a throwaway and it instead way overdelivered and made Toa look like a beast. Chris Jericho is a sad shell of his former self and yet here he and Kyle did at worst adequate. Taya was probably the exception who's been a disappointment in AEW but she basically continued to be here with Deonna, who has luckily looked like a million bucks since joining. And finally, Rob Van Dam was an expected surprise but he did amazingly against Swerve, who is ready for this main event spot he's been given. On paper, this show looked terrible but everything coming through and a hot crowd made this one of the most enjoyable watches this year. 8.5"
[8.0] "An all around great dynamite but maybe one you won't remember in a few weeks, regardless I thought everything presented on TV tonight served a purpose, the matches delievered, Deonna is looking great, RVD was awesome in the main event, Toa looked great, Jeff still has some gas in the tank, and Toni Storm was hilarious on commentary. Also bonus points to The Bucks for already changing the shitty Vince moustaches, probably the best thing to do is getting rid of them asap but keep this awesome EVP gimmick going."
"[7/10] Mox Vs Jeff, Hangman vs Liona and Swerve Vs RVD were all great matches especially the main event. RVD is still amazing for his age and I love AEWs use of him. Glad to see Jeff Hardy getting singles matches weekly, hes clearly still very good and I cant wait to see how this impending heel turn of his goes. Toa Liona proved me wrong as I was not looking forward to his match with Hangman but he looked fantastic and proved he could hang. Young Bucks character work is exceptional and they are always good being absolute pricks. Not the best Dynamite tonight but still a very good one IMO and one that overdelivered. Cant wait for next weeks stacked show!"
[5.0] "Despite a great main event and closing angle, this was not a good show. Everything just felt off and all the matches and segments just never clicked. Hardy vs. Moxley was a fine opener altough extremely predictable. The CMLL guys attacked Moxley after the match to set-up a trios match with the BCC next week but I didn't get Bryan or Claudio didn't come out to make the save tonight. A bunch of jobbers came out but not Moxley's stable-mates? Page vs. Liona was good but, again, something felt off and didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would. Mr. Wardlow (WTF? ) vs. Komander was forgettable and the ending was botched. The Undisputed Kingdom, is already starting to become stale for me. Their leader is in a wheelchair and they just don't look threatning at all. This whole Bang Bang Scissor Gang stuff is just not hitting for me and Jay White is being totally wasted. I hope everything it's just a set-up to a trios match at Revolution. Do you remember when the Acclamied and the BCG wanted to get revenge on the Undisputed Kingdom? Well, it wasn't even a month ago and they all forgot about it. Jericho vs. Flethcer had a nice ending but everything that came before that was just forgettable and uninspired. Valkyrie vs. Purrazzo was okay. RVD vs. Swerve was a great main event that unfortunately coundl't save the show. The final angle between Swerve and Hangman was an awesome way to close the show and I can't wait for next week's match between the two. Overall: I thought the feeling was back but they are once again falling in the same mistakes of last year. This show was just totally uninspired with a some noticable botches in production and in the actual matches. Next week's card looks great on paper, I hope they can deliver a good show. As for this week, this show was just forgettable."
[8.0] "I found this show vastly superior to last week's Dynamite. The first fight between Mox and Jeff was correct for an opening, it was a little slow, but it kept me engaged at all times. There were a couple of botches during the course of the fight, but that didn't lower my impression of the battle itself. The match between Adam Page and Toa Liona was very good, honestly, I didn't have much expectations for it and I found a great fight between the two. I was surprised by Liona's fighting quality, it was interesting to see him in a singles match. It was very physical and with several interesting spots. The first negative point of the night was for this fight between Wardlow and Komander, I found it slow and at times there were lack of coordination that made the fight look very weak. I was scared at one point by Wardlow's knee injury, but I was able to quickly read that he was fine, I'm very happy. The battle between Jericho and Fletcher was correct, it did not have a speed or dynamism that I would have liked to see, but the drama and synchrony between both fighters were so good that I was not bothered by the mistakes that occurred during the course of the fight. The second negative point of the night, I found the women's fight a little "boring", but I love seeing Johnny TV on screen, it is a spectacular complement to ROH and it would be good to see it more often in the programming, but from AEW along with Taya. Regarding the fight, very little to rescue. Finally, the main event was the best of the night, a Hardcore match in a more current style and the public was involved at all times giving a spectacular touch to the development of the fight, where Swerve and RVD had great coordination and chemistry in the ring 8/10."
[5.0] "Gets 1 more point for how good was RVD vs Swerve that came outta nowhere, it actually had no business being that good. I still feel that the revolution match somehow gonna end up being a three way as it really should. Deonna vs Taya was definitely one of the better matches of recent Taya matches, a good brawl between two hard hitting women, Deonna's 2024 record was botched (she's 2-1 in her career). Jericho-Fletcher definitely overstayed its welcome and under normal circumstances Jericho has no business beating Fletcher for sure but you know it had to happen so he is protected against Takeshita. I hope Takeshita san butchers him next week. Mr.Wardlow (I wonder what really went down there) against Komander was uninteresting at best, Komander coming off from a title match to take a lose there got old quickly. Page vs Liona was decent but Swerve handpicking Liona over Brian Cage or pretty much everyone else is hard to believe. Why book that match out of all the matches for real? Liona barely wrestles singles match and you need someone at the top to took Hangman down from the rankings. Whatever. Jon against Hardy was a plausible watch and it further set up Jeff for a potential hell turn. Luchadores attacking Mox was a bit off but I would want BCC take on them in an 8-man tag match. Overall, this week's dynamite was uneventful, uninspring and housed a few botches both in production and wrestling aspects. Promos and backstage segments were alright as usual."
[7.0] "I was gonna give this one a 6/10 if it weren't for the Swerve/RVD hardcore main event. I really enjoyed that match. RVD can still go and I love the way that AEW use him. He's not overexposed and he is brought in for a purpose. Killer main event. As far as the rest of the show goes, it was very average. Jeff vs. Mox opener was ok but Jeff looks super slow nowadays. I think he needs to consider hanging the boots up soon. Toa Liona vs. Hangman was pretty decent but nobody believed that Toa Liona had a chance of winning. Wardlow vs Komander was a forgone conclusion. Komander never ever wins. Jericho vs. Fletcher was not good in my opinion. Fletcher tried but Jericho is slowing down. Deonna vs. Taya was a complete afterthought and I was more entertained by Toni Storm's commentary."
[6.0] "Not what I would consider to be an exceptionally good Dynamite. The card should have been fine, but I feel like some of the workers were just no putting the energy into it. The Mox match to start was better than I expected and, though I am not always the biggest fan of his style of match, I think the credit belongs to Mox. Then there were just some fine matches with Hangman / Liona and Wardlow / Kommander. Until Jericho buried Fletcher and co while not changing the dumb puss on his face and botching a bunch of his spots. If he can't be bothered to be excited about his matches than maybe he shouldn't wrestle. Let him have the time off. No one is overly excited to see him do a lazy job. Deonna got the best Taya match I've seen out of her since she was doing squashes to shine up before getting squashed by Jade and the Swerve/RVD match was much better than it had any right to be on this, frankly dully wrestled show. WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID, the interstitials, promo packages, and backstage segments were all very excellent. I appreciate the prolonged Guns / Acclaimed piece. I can't wait to see how that love affair falls apart. ALL of the guest commentators are excellent. I really love guest commentary from the old days of WWF and would really like to see more of it. I love Dynamite. I changed my work schedule to watch it live. This was a fine TV show and definitely worth watching."
