[7.0] "It is noticeable that a change of direction has begun in AEW for 2024. This program felt very rounded, with some exceptions, which do not 100% harm the pace of the program. As I mentioned in my other comment, this opening was spectacular, honestly, one of Dustin's best fights in AEW, a very psychological fight between two great veterans of the business. The tag team fight was correct to my liking and I found it very dynamic, but the post-fight promo was very poor on Strong's part, I am sure that he can give better promos than the one done today. The trio fight started slowly and ended correctly with a fantastic result, it was time to deliver some gold to White with his gang. Jay Briscoe's segment was emotional and fantastic, it is truly appreciated that AEW has a little time in its programming to honor the memory of workers who are no longer in this world. Very good there! The women's fight was very good and with their post-fight promo, I love that the women have time to give promos. I think the tag team fight could have been better, but due to the circumstances of the time, I can understand why it didn't last a little longer. Finally, the fantastic and sublime main event of Joe vs Hook, it is incredible that in a short time they have given a masterful fight. I hope that a new restart begins here for HOOK, he deserves it, he is a great wrestler and has a good future ahead of him. 9/10."

Hook vs Joe was a good squash but im not a fan of the kick out at one by Hook. Everything else on the show was alright."

[8.0] "Dynamite in bewährt guter Form. Toller Main Event. Gute Matchstory. Da hat alles gepaßt."

[8.0] "Really solid episode: Christian vs. Rhodes was a really good opening match. Cassidy and Beretta vs. Penta and Komander was good and in the post-match Roderick Strong challenged Cassidy to a match at Revolution for the International title which I'm really looking foward to see. Jay Briscoe's little tribute video package and Mark's promo were a nice touch, really emotional stuff. Hangman and Swerve cut two great backstage promos. The Young Bucks probably cut one of the best promos of their carrers, really excited to see this new version of them who seem to have incoporated their EVPs status into their characters. BCG vs. Gates of Agony was satisfactory, not sure if BCG need the ROH six man titles but if it leads to a unification match with the trios title held by the Acclaimed, I'm all for it. Jay vs. Purazzo was meh but served its purpose to help Deonna gain some wins before aiming to Toni Storm's title. Top Flight vs. Private Party was alright, a bit dissapointed by this one but happy for Private Party's victory. Quen cheated to win so maybe a turn incoming for them, let's see where this goes. Joe vs. Hook was a great main event, best match of the night. Star-making perfomance for Hook and awesome first title defense for Joe whose next opponents seem to be already chosen. The final moments of the show with Joe looking scared to see Swerve and Hangman as his new challengers were fantastic. Overall: just a really good show with a great opening match, a great main event, some solid promos and good stories developments. Revolution is shaping up and it looks really good."

[6.0] "This was a very solid episode of AEW Dynamite, with a slate of consistently good matches across the show (with the unfortunate exception of Jay and Purazzo). The main event was a great 8 minute sprint which did exactly what it was designed to, and the trios title match delivered as well, even if the overall match quality could've been a little higher.Toni Storm continues to be a hilarious presence on TV, though I wish the womens division was better served across the show as one segment was not sufficient. A lack of storytelling hampers this show, as not a great deal advanced, but the World Title stories continue to be reasonably compelling. The Corporate Bucks will certainly be a divisive gimmick but its nothing if not memorable and the tribute to Jay Briscoe was beautifully handled. Overall this was an enjoyable enough show, but held back by some underwhelming storytelling in places."

[6.0] "Decent opener and a main event which came pre-packaged with some intrigue. Less interesting in other places but mostly pretty watchable. The Young Bucks seemed to be addressing complaints from fans online about the direction of the company shifting away from younger less-known guys onto former WWE wrestlers (with a dig at Punk). There have been several on-screen hints about a change in company direction recently, which is probably why we saw Hook challenge for the title. I don't think we've seen anyone in AEW actually develop from having constant squash matches (thinking of Hook, Cargill, and Wardlow). Hopefully that's out of the way for Hook now. The main event was designed to build Hook up and it appears to have done that for many but it's hard not too look at the disparity in skill when you see a rookie and a true veteran side by side. I will say though that I did appreciate it being a short and intense match. It had a feeling of "realness" (by pro wrestling standards), which unfortunately was thrown away by an ill-advised, illogical, and unearned kick-out of the Muscle Buster."

This led into an enjoyable tag team match between CHAOS and Penta El Zero Miedo and Komander. Bullet Club Gold and the Mogul Embassy then faced off in another good match for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles. Things got a little rough with a disappointing match between Anna Jay and Deonna Purrazzo, but picked back up for Private Party vs. Top Flight. Finally, Hook and Samoa Joe managed a Match of the Night outing over the World Title."

Christian Cage vs Dustin Rhodes: Dustin Rhodes showed that he can still go in the ring despite being 54 years old, in what was a better match than I had thought it was going to be, despite interferences from Killswitch and Nick Wayne, towards the end when Rhodes took both of them out at ringside was good to see [****]. Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta vs Komander & Penta El Zero Miedo: Decent match, Trent Beretta being more aggressive is interesting to see, all four had the chemistry and the action was solid [***1/4]. Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn & Jay White vs Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage & Toa Liona: Solid match, with BC Gold winning a good decision, Prince Nana coming in towards the end was not good however [**3/4]. Deonna Purrazzo vs Anna Jay: This match was not to my liking, the action was below average at best, Toni Storm on commentary was annyoing [*]. Isaiah Kassidy & Marq Quen vs Dante Martin & Darius Martin: A decent showing from Private Party even though Marq Quen had just come back from injury, the action was solid but should have been given more time maybe on Collision, the ending should have been booked different [***]. Samoa Joe vs Hook: This match was okay but should have been booked differently, Samoa Joe dominated most of the match and the match should have been given more time, Hook did try his best but it was obvious that Samoa Joe was always gonna win [**1/2]"

OC has a random ass fuck tag match that was just fine and had some iffy moments. I guess OC is holding the title until Revolution at least...yay more spinning his wheels and doing nothing with this second title run and its making him and the belt look bad. The hangman promo was great and he's really got in good shape too and got in the right wrestling mindset again..hangman for world champ again next pls, maybe after swerve? The young bucks interview felt like too little too late, but I'll wait it out and see. 6 man tag was a bit weak, but it does the job of futhering the BC gold & Acclaimed potential team up, just wisj theyd move on with it. Womens match was straight up ass and idk how that shit flies on tv for TK tbh. Private party vs top flight was boring until the end and im hoping their next encounter is more fast paced like everyone would expect. Main event was alright, im glad Hook is doing something different, but he didnt need to look so strong against Joe."

Except for the uninspured second match, everything else was solid to really good match-wise. In regards to promo segments, Hangman and Swerve were solid but unremarkable, the Bucks' new characters have promise but need a bit of refinement, Toni Storm and her entourage are the biggest hootin' tootin' party of entertainment in AEW and Mark Briscoe's emotional tribute to his brother and family was heartbreaking. After skipping through Collision last weekend and a few lackluster shows, this one was a good one."

[8.0] "This was a great episode that pushed a lot of stories forward. Dustin Rhodes repeatedly getting title chances and coming short will hopefully one day lead to him winning SOME title under the AEW/ROH brands. I'm hoping to see a brief reign as ROH World Champ just so he can finally hold the world title he has deserved for decades. His match tonight with Christian pushed that story further. It was nice to see Rey Fenix and Chuck Taylor both back tonight. The six-man title match was great storytelling, as Mogul Embassy was going to pull off the win with help from Nana, but Bullet Club Gold wins the titles because of help from The Acclaimed. Puts gold on Bullet Club Gold and furthered the story about a possible Bang Bang Scissor Gang faction. Toni Storm was magical on commentary during the Purrazzo match. Her stroking Ian Riccobone's head like an emotional support cat was hilarious. The shoe throwing gets me every time. Purrazzo's submission looks great and this made me more excited to see her vs Storm. Nicholas and Matthew Jackson EVPs leaning into their backstage powermonger roles looks like it will be a fun new layer of their characters. It seems smart of them to lean into what fans think of them based on backstage reports. Private Party being back makes me happy. I wish that they would have beaten a team more expendable than Top Flight, but thats ok. Those guys can recover from the loss. That main event was exactly what it should have been for Joe's first defense against a relatively-inexperienced challenger. Joe dominated, but Hook showed heart. Hook displayed that toughness by kicking out of Muscle Buster at 1, which was a very cool, albeit undeserved, moment. Show closing segment with Hangman and Swerve left us on a note making me want to tune in next week, which is always what you want. I gave it an 8 because it was a high-quality show, but it was missing the ****+ matches that are required for a 9 or 10."

But they made Hook feel like a mega-underdog with a ton of fight in him, while making Joe look like the menacing, dominant beast that he is. The energy in the crowd was high from the moment the HOOK batsignal appeared to well after the final bell. Great way to end the show, great first title defense from Joe."

[9.0] "A great episode of TV wrestling. My only real complaints are minor: (1) doing six matches meant that a couple of things would get squeezed and the Private Party/Top Flight match drew the short straw on that, and (2) I think I'd have preferred Statlander/Aminata on Dynamite instead of Rampage (even subbing it in for Purrazzo/Jay). Otherwise, the main event was handled very well and both wrestlers lived up to their billing. There wasn't really a bad match on the card, and the Cage/Rhodes match over-delivered. Even the live crowd itself over-delivered. If the BCG win leads to a unification of the trios belts then I love that booking. The promo segments from Swerve and Hangman added some juice to the title chase, and the Young Bucks pre-tape gave the audience clear motivations for their feud and justified their heel personas. And we must mention the Jay Briscoe tribute... man, what a moment for Mark as well as Jay's daughters. It was perfect."

The Revolution PPV in March got some nice build, teasing Swerve and Hangman both going for the World Title. Sting and Darby established that they are not just focused on the Young Bucks, but that they want gold before the Stinger rides off into the sunset. They built the main event up like a huge title fight, and it paid off. Hook and Joe delivered what they needed to do perfectly. Toni Storm was hilarious as always on commentary, building up to Deonna's eventual title challenge. [9.0] "Excellent episode of AEW Dynamite.I thought the in ring action was awesome top to bottom. Joe-Hook was one of the best sprints in wrestling I've seen, made Joe look like a monster, and Hook was made to look like a total badass, even post match when despite being choked out, he kept asking for more, which I loved. It also set up an explosively hot world title scene with Hangman and Swerve both cutting excellent backstage promos and coming out post main event. Christian Cage-Dustin Rhodes ws another match which exceeded my expectations, delivering a fantastic TNT title bout. I thought we got incredibly fun ROH trios match with BCG against Mogul Embassy, setting up a really interesting story direction with the Acclaimed who are the AEW Trios champions. Tony's rehabilitation of the tag division continues, with Top Flight-Private Party having a great TV match, leaving enough on the table for future matches of two teams who will definitely be career rivals. Deonna Purrazzo continued to look very good in ring, even if I am down on Anna Jay as a performer and Storm being a little annoying at times in the Timeless gimmick, and I am very interested in this program. Plus I thought Komander-Penta vs Chaos was excellent as well. The only thing that really fell flat for my was Roddy's promo, I think he was taking it a little too seriously, was not a strong promo, plus I don't think his motivation really made sense, like a weakened Orange was giving you a title shot and you went 'nah we'll do it in like six weeks time'. Sure man. Anyway, I think I would give this 8.5 overall, being nice and rounding up to a 9 because of a very hot main event."

I wasn't at all convinced by the "EVP heels" who want to be addressed seriously by their full names. Apart from the storyline with Strong and Cassidy, the rest was rather filler. However, Cassidy is another AEW character that I've had enough of and would like to give a longer break. I've simply had enough of it. The trios match was really good too but I just hope Bullet Club winning the titles means that maybe they are planning on just having one trios champions for ROH and AEW. What I really enjoyed also from tonight is that finally it feels like they are really putting a lot of effort showcasing the womens division and NO I am not talking about just trowing more matches on the show, I am talking about actually making live promo segments in the ring with the women. I have been asking for that for more than a year and it looks like finally they are doing it constantly. The other stuff that I need to say is that the fact that they are really showcasing the tag team division as they should and with their young teams is fantastic and they should cointinue doing this. Finally, my favorite part of the show without a doubt was the main event. I loved the way Hook looked with a veteran like Joe, I really hope Jose becomes his nemesis and eventually he can defeat him maybe at the end of the year."

Cage v Rhodes was a great opener that lit up the crowd. Dustin has still relatively got it, and Cage is one of the most underrated wrestlers of this and the previous generation. The remaining mid-card matches were solid enough to keep the crowd entertained. That being said, I am upset to see Jericho continue to feud with the Callis family. This seems to be a never ending program. Jay Briscoe Tribute + Mark Briscoe promo was beautifully done, and quite emotional. Bucks promo was underwhelming to me, but I am interested in the direction it goes. Toni Storm continues to be the biggest highlight of the AEW women's division. In the main event, Joe once again showed that he is a star who can still pull off top-tier matches at 44 years of age. Match was exactly what it should have been, and the ending of the program set up multiple future feuds for the World Championship."

The main event between Hook and Samoa Joe for the AEW title was balls to the wall, action packed excitement. Hook needed this match badly to show everybody that he can hang at the top with the big dogs. Joe has breathed new life into the AEW title after MJF ruined it. The rest of the show was standard but the opener, the main event, and the celebration of Jay Briscoe were so fucking good that it made the show worth while."

This was strong all around despite having a pretty underwhelming card on paper. 6 matches, all given a decent amount of time, and all being pretty entertaining overall. Every promo was a backstage segment pretape which allowed for more action in the ring, which felt like a smart decision. A lot of consistency since World's End in terms of who is being featured on TV, including oddball choices like Dustin Rhodes. While it's still not perfect in terms of everyone getting screentime, between Dynamite and Collision I think they're generally keeping a healthy rotation. The women's division is a complete afterthought and generally still on autopilot, but this is the first episode since the C2 tournament ones where I felt like I was truly invested. Hoping next week is of similar quality."

Want to start first with two unrelated stuff: Why AEW insists on having Cutler & Cobana to wrestle on their dark matches especially against The Dark Order? And why OC&Trent goes under CHAOS on the website rather than simply Best Friends? Anyway. The opener was a damn fine match between two old but flaming soul. And alongside with the main event it's a better edition of false finishes. The main event was not spectacular but it didn't overstay its welcome. That was the important part for me given all the shit went down this week. It was a fast-paced action which portrayed Hook as a classic babyface underdog but done in a right way. He is not quite ready to be in the main event scene but this was like a clip, a glimpse of what could have been if he did and he's improving constantly so that ain't that far. And I do not necessarily mention if I should not mention this due to the new guidelines but... Hook's promo package was fire, specifically the 'Who the fuck am I anyway'' part for obvious reasons. These nuances make me further like the work and the story being played out there. Hook did not completely ignore it nor overcooked it. Just had a line for the giggles and I actually appreciated it. Now he can move on freely. Anna Jay was better tonight compared to her Saturday night's performance, Purazzo surely did help there. Post-match angle was fun as well as the whole commentary of Storm's. Bang Bang Gang winning the belts is no surprise as is the further teasing of the merging BC Gold and The Acclaimed into one single faction. Top Flight vs. Private Part would have been the MOTN if it was not for Hook vs Joe and the story played out there. I am unsure where the finish would lead up to. Top Flight is actually a protected tag team and I can see why AEW would not want them to lose clean but I sincerely hope that Private Party wouldn't become heels again, it realy didn't work out last time. Both teams are over with the crowd and they both surely deserve to be crowned with titles sooner than later. It's also good that they already announced the second match for Revolution although the way it got done was cliche af. Personally, I wish OC and Roddy went at it and we crowned a second new champion tonight, I wouldn't mind. Roddy's promo was better than usual but I'd argue it was not a necessity to wait for 6 weeks to promote for the international championship. The whole status quo until the PPV/PLE usually tend to get tedious."
