[9.0] "I really think people are voting way too harshly on this one. I really enjoyed EVERY SINGLE MATCH, not a single bad match on here at all. The commentary from Sam is a plus, and I guess Veda was alright too. Bull Nakano as the on screen booker is a great idea, showing someone that everyone is able to notice. The factions are very interesting and the gimmicks are very cool. The hair & make up design is FUCKING AWESOME. I really enjoyed the costumes too! Konami was a huge shock and making her join Takase's faction is sick. I really do think the miscommunication of the main event was bad, but its not good enough to lower my rating. I have high hopes for this promotion and I cant wait to see whats next. It seemed as if the ending was a botch made by the ref it seems. I can see why people didn't like this show, but I really enjoyed it for some reason."

[4.0] "I really wanted this to be a success. It's great to have a new promotion out there and bringing the Joshi style to a western audience and setting. However, I struggled with it to the point that I found a couple of the matches unwatchable. I appreciate that some of that is down to style and my own personal dislike of the more comedic elements of joshi wrestling. But a lot of it was also just the poor quality of the in-ring action and the pverall production. A real shame it wasn't a better overall card and hope they do build more strongly through their next outing. The main event and the Stray Cat/Midnight Player matches are the highlights for me and both have a decent story to carry forward. Shame about the botched ending of the main event, but sometimes things just don't go your way!"

[7.0] "This was a fun show overall. I think first shows like this are alway a challenge as you need to introduce the wrestlers and characters to the audience starting from scratch. It might even be more difficult for a promotion like this considering a lot of joshi fans will be very familiar with a lot of the wrestlers appearing here, but they are playing new characters that while a lot of the time similar, are still new. I think anyone watching this needs to temper expectations in that you're not getting strong style, hard hitting joshi puresu, but a very character driven sort of promotion. There is still a lot of good wrestling on here though and it kept my attention throughout."

[6.0] "Sukeban is one of many competing joshi promotions looking to set a foundation to spread the popularity of Joshi wrestling within America, Sukeban's 1st show was surrounded by a lot of hype wondering what the finished product of the first show would be, the show was surprisingly entertaining despite a perceived lack of major names on the roster, although many people were massively discouraged by the choice of commentary team. Bull Nakano looked great and seeds were easily planted for future storylines. The major downside was the strange choice of lighting, at times it was difficult to see the show due to a lack of brightness during entrances and many people felt disappointed the crowd wasn't more visible to show off the sold out crowd."

[4.0] "Very forgettable show: it had all the vibes of a CMLL Tuesday show with wrestlers working at under 20% capacity and absolutely bare minimum character work. Which would be perfectly fine for a secondary show from a major promotion but is unacceptable for debuting a new promotion. Let's start with the positives: the cast was stellar, on par with a big Japanese indie event. The commentators at least had done their homework and knew what was going on. Make-up was very good quality for an indie show (see Unagi Sayaka). There was a single major embarrassment (at the end of the main event). The fans tried their best to support everybody. Now let's move on to the negatives. Character work was absolutely subpar. In-ring action was uninspired. The much vaunted costumes looked shoddily made and ill-fitting. The hairstyle was cheap cosplaying fare. All in all the show gave the buzz whoever is bankrolling Sukeban started spending lavishly and realized halfway through he/she was running out of money already and cut back. Not impressed but an extra point of encouragement."

[6.0] "The company looks very promising, but the show could have been mcuh better. The were two main issues: In-Ring Quality and Production. 1. When it comes to in ring-quality... if I came to see Saori Anou, Miyuki Takase or Arisa Nakajima I expect a great match. I get them working more in their character, but the in-ring part of it was totally forgotten to promote the presentation of the characters. 2. When a company promotes a show with an anime, amazing videos, etc., you expect production to be awesome... and it was far from that. It didn't reach the unwatchable levels of certain indies (aham, West Coast Pro), but it was far from acceptable too. I think that characters are cool, th company has a unique aura and an amazing roster that could even be improved in the future with other indie names that would fit the style like ASUKA, Harukaze, etc., but there is so much to work on yet."

[0.0] "I haven't seen many promotions opening shows, but this was the worst. I'd like to start with the unbearable production. It would seem that the one who organized it obviously has capital, they created a video which as it seems to me is not cheap, but there was not enough money for the production. Just terrible sound, which hurts your ears, two cameras, incomprehensible commentators, who forget the names of wrestlers on the move and confuse them and of course completely incomprehensible fetish costumes. What's the point of changing the identity of the joshi if they use the same techniques? The ending of Saori and Sayaka match threw everyone off balance altogether. No one realized that the match was over and it even continued. I was expecting to see some kind of Lucha Underground lore, but what I got was a lot of low quality nonsense. And the Joshi's performance was mediocre. Maybe on the level of a passing show in a rural town in Japan, but not the first show of the promotion. Frankly speaking, if nothing changes, I would like to wish this project to close and I don't believe that something can change for the better, because I don't know how to work here. They saved money on everything except the joshis themselves. I liked only the fans during the whole show, they are good, I even think they liked it, but it was very hard to watch from the monitor screen."

[5.0] "It was a bit dissapointing for me in terms of In-Ring quality as I expected some matches to be what Joshi Wrestling usually shows, but this was more WWE looking than anything. There is a lot of work to do on the entertainment and storyline side, as well as the production of the show. Some promos and vignettes are needed to connect with the characters. I didn't like the way they booked their first Title Match (and the belt doesn't match the Sukeban aesthetic at all). Why choose Saori and Unagi to wrestle for a Title shot? Why not other wrestlers were elegible for it? The post match angle was typical of Japanese wrestling, so it makes sense they gave Arisa the other contendership, but it would've been a lot better if they booked a tournament or a battle royal or any qualifying match with more wrestlers to truly determine who the best is. As I say, there is a lot of work to do, but giving this was the first show and it doesn't look like a big promotion, it was a pretty entertaining show. Also, it was a nice surprise to see Bull Nakano as the comissioner. She didn't look specially good in the role in this show, mostly because of the language barrier, but let's see how it works."

[7.0] "A brave and fabulous beginning for Sukeban. I hear it was a difficult process watching live, but watching back on demand was a pretty seamless experience. This show very much established a tone of cartoonish and over the top style, but also had enough hard hitting joshi action to keep a hardcore fan like me interested. There was a lot of strong choices stylistically here, with a clear 80s cartoon mashup aesthetic and flashbulb cameras lending to the nostalgia present, while the ring gear itself was very very well designed visually although it seemed like some wrestlers gear was getting in the way. The show was well booked, broadly favouring the heels as one would expect for a debut show. There are some details to hone down especially in the structure and pacing of the matches and I think most of that will come down to the wrestlers confidence and flow, likely to come with time. Some production hiccups on audio and lighting could be ironed out. Looking forward to seeing this show grow and improve, this show definitely had me wanting to commit to Sukeban."

[5.0] "Sukeban's first show was odd, but interesting. There are a lot of big names from the joshi independent scene, though they have completely different gimmicks. The production was a mixed bag. They rented a nice, expensive venue and looked to have a good sized crowd, but then they only lit the ring and pretty much anything beyond that was a black void, which made this feel low rent. The commentary was terrible, I found myself muting the show at times just so I wouldn't have to listen to them. The gear and makeup on the wrestlers was another mixed bag, with some of it looking good and some of it being bad. The show kicked off with the Cherry Bomb Girls vs The Vandals in what was basically a comedy match. For what it was, it was okay, but the effort level here was pretty low when you look at the people involved. Cherry Bomb Girls picked up the win (4/10). The three way match with Queen of Hearts of Dangerous Liaisons and Saki Bimi of The Harajuku Stars had a surprise with Konami being revealed as the mystery entrant, even if she was wearing a weird outfit for some reason. Much like the first match, this was low effort as everybody went through the motions. This was definitely a disappointment. Konami ended up winning, then both Queen and Saki asked her to join their respective factions. Konami decided to join the heel group and attacked Saki (4/10). Midnight Player vs Stray Cat was the first match where the wrestlers actually tried. Stray Cat looks like a gimp in that gear, it's really bad. This was a decent back and forth with Midnight Player being the cocky heel and Stray Cat fighting back as the underdog babyface. Stray Cat got the win with a bad looking finisher. After the match, Midnight Player tried to get Stray Cat to join The Vandals, but she declined (5/10). Dangerous Liaisons vs The Harajuku Stars was the best match of the show. These two factions are definitely the star attractions, having the biggest names and the best gear. Commander Nakajima and Lady Antoinette cheated a lot, while Babyface and Maya Mamushi spent the whole match trying to overcome the odds. This felt like a long time rivalry despite this being their first encounter. Dangerous Liaisons won and celebrated after kicking everyone out of the ring. This was a pretty good match, there's something to build around with this feud (6/10). A Bull Nakano highlight video played, with no sound in another production flub, as she then came out with the championship belt and announced she was the commissioner of Sukeban. The main event of Countess Saori vs Ichigo Sayaka was to determine who would get a title shot. A pretty good match that was going well until the referee botched the finish. He counted the pin on a rollup by Sayaka, and called for the bell, but that wasn't supposed to be the finish. Saori and Sayaka panicked and had a bad sequence to get to the real finish, which was just another rollup by Sayaka. Not sure why the match couldn't have ended the first time when it was the same thing. Maybe there was more planned, but what an awkward way to end the promotion's first main event (5/10). The post-match had Dangerous Liaisons get in the ring and Nakajima confront Sayaka before they all attacked her, leading to Harajuku Stars to make the save in a big brawl. Bull Nakano restored order and announced the main event of the next show would be Nakajima vs Sayaka for the title. Overall, Sukeban was a decent show that had its ups and downs. The first two matches were not good, but from then on things improved in the ring. The biggest improvement to be made is with the commentary team, they're awful. A positive is that the show only went for an hour and a half, as things moved along quickly and there wasn't any time wasted. They did a good job establishing the important factions, and it was made clear who the heels and babyfaces were. Sukeban gets a 5/10."

[6.0] "Production, atmosphere and commentary were pretty solid. Worked out well for this kind of show. Hosting it on TikTok did have issues in terms of the stream however. Did enjoy all the matches but easily the worst part of the show was the referee who screwed up the main event and just kept fumbling throughout the show. Really enjoyed the Stray Cat singles match as well as the opening 6 woman. I think this is a fun brand I wont mind seeing more of, but I just hope they iron out what they need to to deliver this product in the best way possible and also to have these athletes show off just a little bit more of their prowess from their work in Japan. A lot of them felt like they were sort of going half speed."

[6.0] "For a first show, this was decent. The matches all provided good entertainment and it was short at an hour and 30, the streaming service they used however, being tiktok was its downfall, as it kept buffering and ruined the experience for those not in attendance. The matches were good however and the show seems like it will be better on demand, currently however. Its only a 6."
