"One of the better Rampage I've seen. The MisticoRomero match is really refreshing and great. International Title #1 Contender Match is good as well. Great showing by all three: John SIlver, Brother Zay, and Kip Sabian. Kip is a decent midcarder heel, and he plays this role well. Brother Zay did well as the babyface in this match. He always has been a good wrestler, and it's good to see him shine as a singles wrestler. He has the charisma and wrestling skills to get over, and I think the crowd got behind him here. Definitely should be pushed and wrestle more. Johnny has always been good, and has always been the crowd favourite. I think he is better suited as a babyface. BCC makes a decent tag team. The fastball special and the swing + dropkick are good tag team moves. Enjoyable squash match. Ruby vs Skye is alright, i guess. Good to see the women given tv time and the main event, but idk what are they doing with Skye Blue. It seems like they're pushing her, but then, not really. She and Willow got black misted, and then they just do the same thing they did before, just without smiling. Also, idk about this idea of just blackmisting every babyface in the women's division, it's getting a bit repetitive. I think Anna Jay got black misted too? But regardless, for Rampage's standards, this is a good show, and I enjoyed it better than Collision this week."
[5.0] "Man, there was just not much here that I really cared about. The opener was decent, but I didn't enjoy it as much as others did. The three way feels completely skippable just because none of these dudes have a chance in hell, or even any storyline significance, for going after Orange, although I assume it will further some character arc for Orange."
[7.0] "Pretty fun show. The first half hour was especially enjoyable. The Mistico/Rocky match is one of the better matches I've seen on Rampage lately (since Collision launched, anyway). Other highlights include: the backstage segment with Kingston/Lethal, and the pre-tapes from Santana/Ortiz. Plus, I'm always excited to see Bryan Keith on TV. The booking for the Soho/Blue match was a little weird/tired, and the three-way match was good from an in-ring perspective but you could tell the crowd wasn't sure how they were supposed to digest what they were seeing."
[6.0] "This wasn't a great episode, despite the fantastic opening match. It kicked thing off strong with the Match of the Night in the form of a two out of three falls match between Mistico and Rocky Romero, contested under CMLL rules. Excalibur delivered some of the best commentary of his career as he explained the Lucha traditions, even going into the difference in the refereeing. Unfortunately, that marks the end of the good stuff. John Silver, Kip Sabian, and Brother Zay have a match to determine the Number One Contender to the International Title, next. It's fine, but too short to really get going. It's also disappointing, because none of the have any credible chance of dethroning Orange Cassidy, so we're just getting another meaningless Battle of the Belts match that will be entirely skippable. We then got the Blackpool Combat Club in a squash against Bryan Keith and Exodus Prime. This was better than most squash matches because the Blackpool Combat Club busted out some creative double-team power moves that I hadn't seen before, but it was still just a squash. Finally, we ended on a low note, as Skye Blue took on Ruby Soho. The match was fine, although they didn't mesh that well. It also lost a point because Blue's Scooby-Doo inspired gear made no sense when combined with her new darker character, and actively hurt the story they were telling in the ring."
[6.0] "Great opener, the crowd was very hot for Mistico and he is a real great luchador . Nice work of Rocky Romero, in the CMLL he really improved lot.The match is a good showdown of technical wrestling, with Romero in the heel role. Victory for Mistico who makes a nice debut in AEW. Nice 3 way match but BCCdeserved more valid opponents in view of the match for the tag titles. AEW still creates great tag team matches for the titles but often the preparation is mostly squash matches. It's not the best. The main event is a good match but Saraya's work makes the ending predictable. Saraya hits Skye with the spray and gets pinned by Ruby. I was hoping for a victory for Skye but Kris Statlander arrives post match so at least the ending remains open and Skye could return around the TBS Championship."
[7.0] "The last three matches suggest a humdrum, average Rampage. What set this episode apart was a really good CMLL exhibition between Mistico and Rocky Romero, easily the best and most comfortable Mistico has looked on US TV, because he was just being himself this time, and certainly not embellishing his own hype which was his downfall in WWE. Rampage has featured Lucha style wrestling before, but not the classic 2/3 falls version that CMLL specialises in. Hopefully this opens the door to more of their stars coming in."
[6.0] "This was an okay Rampage: Mistico vs. Romero was a really good match. The action was fun and entertaining, they were able to get the crowd invested and both men delivered great perfomances. Kingston/Lehtal promo was great and really hyped me for the Memphis street fight on this Saturday's Collision. Brother Zay vs. Sabian vs. Silver was an okay match, all three men are usually very low on the card so it was strange to see them fight to get a title shot. It looks we won't see any title change on Battle of the Belts anytime soon. And I'm kinda tired of this kind of booking where the champion defends the title against a low midcard talent, that we don't even see on TV very often, instead of a wrestler who's in a higher position on the card just because TK doesn't wanna hand somebody a loss. Blackpool Combat Club's squash was okay. Blue vs. Soho was a bad main event who didn't need to be the main event. Blue is sustaining a heel turn but I can't take her seriously with a scooby-doo inspired gear. Also put a wrestler who's slowly turning heel against a heel stable created a very werid dynamic in terms of the crowd's reactions and support. Having Soho winning the match was also a strange choice. Overall: the opener and Kingston's promo saved what would've been on of the worst episodes of Rampage of the year."
[5.0] "This show started off with a bang having Romero and Mistico deliver a pure Lucha Libre CMLL style match that worked perfectly to be a TV match. After that Eddie Kingston did what he does and gave an excellent promo that convinced me to watch collision the next day for the Memphis street fight against Jeff Jarrett. After that the show was normal lackluster rampage schlock. The three-way number one contenders match was a nothing multi-man mess that AEW has been giving us to many of lately. I miss the ranking system that AEW used to do, now it feels like every title challenger wins a random three or four way to earn a shot. A few more backstage interviews hyping up a couple matches on dynamite. And the dud of a main event that just didn't work for multiple reasons."
