[9.0] "This was a great show with a lot of memorable matches and the last three matches in particular are an essential watch to the era. I did have my frustrations with some of the booking with the main event because of the way the Hart Foundation inconceivably wait until after Bulldog loses the match before coming to his aid, but it was one of the best heel performances from Shawn Michaels you will ever see. Bret vs Undertaker have a really good technical rematch to their Summerslam classic and I thought the Owen Hart vs Vader match was excellent. You can't really go wrong with Dude Love vs HHH opening the show and the result ends up being important for the next episode of Raw. The tag title match was also surprisingly decent as I had very low expectations going into that one. There's a few mid matches on the undercard and a pretty terrible Tiger Ali Singh match, but on the whole this was a great UK PPV."
[6.0] "The undercard lets it down but its still one of the better PPV's from 97. Triple H wrestles Dude Love in the opener as they continue their series of good matches together. A bit more technical than the Mankind matches. Nice way to start (7/10) Tiger Ali Singh vs Al Snow is a pointless squash and an excuse to get Sunny on screen really (2/10) Tag Title match is mostly fine when the Headbangers are on offense, moving fast and being over. Los Boricuas were a bit dull in their heat segments but not the worst either (5/10) Patriot vs Funk could've been fun if Wilkes leaned into the crowd reaction, but instead they just had a very undewhelming heatless bout with Funk doing a few not that smooth high flying moves (4/10) LOD and the Godwinns have another slog of a tag match only highlight really is the ending sequence with Hawk and Animal hitting everything they have and winning (3/10) From this point on though the card picks up incredibly well. Vader/Owen is super fun with Hart playing the underdog face bumping and setting a fast pace making Vader look like a monster in probably one of his best matches in WWF (8/10) Bret and Taker have thei best match together in my opinion. Bret worked on the leg and Taker sold it really well. Loved all the counters to the Sit Up spot. DQ isn't the most exciting but I'll give it a pass (8/10) And the main event is for me MOTN Shawn bumped like a maniac as always and was the perfect hateable heel to go up against Bulldog and his power moves. A bunch of interference for the win and the crowd was throwing trash by the end, but can't deny the workrate was fun (8/10)"
[6.0] "All of the Singles Matches were won by the heels here, but at least they got huge reactions from those, especially in the main event. The opener was the second best match on the show with Helmsley and Foley once again having a great bout, this time with Hunter pulling even more heel tricks from up his sleeve. Singh had an okay, but heatless debut, while the Tag Team Titles match was alright with Savio and Miguel working nicely while in control. Patriot vs Funk suffered from these guys not being able to adapt to the crowd and they just did a face vs face match, instead of going with the flow and making Patriot work like a heel since he was booed loudly by the fans. LoD vs The Godwinns was a typical Roadwarriors match, but I still enjoyed it more than other people. Vader and Owen had an okay bout, but a little too short in my opinion, while Bret and Taker delivered a very good contest that was ruined by an abrupt finish. And finally the main event was the best thing on this PPV and even though the ending was a controversial decision the match itself was still fantastic. Great, fluid action featuring two phenomenal workers that made the crowd lose their minds. All in all it was another nice "foreign" PPV, but some of the matches in the middle could have been a bit better."

[7.0] "A pretty solid event overall. The HHH-Dude opener was good, though certainly not the best or most memorable match between the two. The show takes a downturn with the next several matches - Headbangers vs Boricuas was pretty solid and Patriot vs Funk was OK (the overwhelmingly negative reception by the UK crowd to the Patriot was certainly amusing), but Singh vs Cassidy and LOD vs Godwinns were throwaways (especially the former, in retrospect, since Singh would never really amount to anything, nor would Al Snow until long after dropping the Cassidy gimmick). The show sticks the landing, though, with a very good string of matches; Bret vs Taker being probably the best overall, but Vader vs Owen and HBK vs Bulldog are strong as well, with the latter having lots of implications for the official beginning of DX."
[6.0] "Obwohl der PPV bei Raw nicht gut aufgebaut wurde, hatte ich doch meinen SPaß mit der Show, jedenfalls größtenteils. Carsten Schäfer als Ringsprecher war ein cooles Easter Egg, da ich das gar nicht wusste und er als Deutscher hier gar nicht so sehr reingepasst hat. Naja für die Amerikaner sind wir wohl alle einfach Europäer. Opener hat mir gefallen und die beiden hatten schon damals eine gute Chemie. Das Debut von Tiger Ali Singh war wohl das Lowlight der Show und ziemlich nichtssagend. Ähnliches gilt für LOD vs. Godwins, was wrestlerisch einfach nicht besonders gut war. Headbangers vs. Boricuas und Funk vs. Patriot waren solide, wobei ich vom großen Pop für die Headbangers überrascht war. Vader vs. Owen Hart war dann echt ordentlich, Bret Hart vs. Undertaker ebenfalls sehr ordentlich aber mit schwachem DQ Finish nach fast 30 Minuten und der Main Event mein MOTN. Bisschen schade, dass von den Harts nur Bret gewonnen hat und man die Fans hier mit einem schlechten Gefühl nach Hause schickt, die Heat für die spätere D-X war aber schon stark."

The opener was a good match but the last 3 matches between Owen/Vader, Taker/Hart, and Michaels/Bulldog are all genuine bangers. We also see the formation of Dx continue to progress in the main event. Matches from best to worst: Taker/Hart ****1/4, Michaels/Bulldog ****, Vader/Owen ***3/4, Love/Triple H ***1/4, Patriot/Flash **3/4, Head Bangers/Los Boricuas **1/2, Lod/Godwins *3/4, Tiger Ali/Cassidy 1/2*. Match quality is closer to mid 6 but I'm going 7 due to how great the crowd was for this event."
[7.0] "Four great and one pretty good match is far better than a lot of PPVs in this era, and it also had important implications for the next couple of events, specifically for the Taker/Shawn and Bret/Shawn matches that defined the start of the Attitude Era."
[8.0] "A very good show with some great matches. The UK crowd obviously made the show better. The end of the show should have been Davey retaining the title and look strong in front of his home country but Shawn obviously had other plans. Still a very good event, The middle of the card gets boring but the last two matches make up for it."
[9.0] "There's some real fluff on here but some great stuff as well. HHH/Dude is a good opener. Vader/Owen is a banger. Bret and Undertaker have their best match and one of the WWE matches of the year for me. Tiger Ali Singh's debut was a DUD."
[7.0] "Cultaholic ranked this PPV Show as the third best show of the 90s for WWE. I just watched it back on WWE Network and I really can disagree about that because for most part it sounds like what today would be an House Show in England, but the two main events were great at makes this show worth watching. We have a good opener between Triple H and Mick Foley (in this case performing the Dude Love's Gimmick). The two opened so many PPVs back that year including Canadian Stampede and Summerslam where Triple H challanged Mankind, the man he defeated for winning the King of the Ring. I think their best match that year was the one inside the Steel Cage back at Summerslam, but also this one is pretty good. Easy story to follow and Triple H winning with the help of Chyna, in a classical "heel" mode. Then we have some skippable matches like the one between Tiger ALi Singh and Cassidy (AKA Al Snow) and the two tag team matches between the Headbangerz and Los Buricos and the LOD vs The Godwins, nothing special, simple tag team matches where the two Baby Face teams wins with a comeback story. The Main matches in this show are good. Owen vs Vader is a good match and Vader adapted himself very very well to Owen Hart and to the weird British crowd. I say Weird because as usual the British fans were warm and noisy as only them are able to be, but they were for most part of the show chanting for the Hart Foundation members that in US were playing the role of Bad guys. This thing was not so evident as at Canadian Stampede for example because a part of the crowd was behind the "good guys) and this made really difficult and strange to tell a story in the ring. Vader and Owen interpret very well the will of the crowd and in the end Vader defeats Owen. Taker vs Bret for the WWE Championship was really good. I could almost define it as the best match between the two of them, even better than their Summerslam 97 encounter. Taker's sell to his leg was absolutely perfect and even him was perfectly able to playing the role of the "sort of Bad guy" wrestling a different match than the one we could expect and the one they have shown at Summerslam were the Hitman was the real Bad Guy. Aside from the chemistry with Shawn Michaels, Bret is one of those who interacted best with Taker. Bret gave to the Deadman some of his best "Non Gimmick" matches ever (second only to Kurt Angle I think). I loved the way Bret tried to escape the Tombstone, shame for the ending that took something away from the final vote (8-). Main Event its pretty Awesome, Shawn overselling was fantastic and the way he guided Bulldog for the whole match is a masterpiece. Bulldog had great pure atlethic abilty but was a bad worker in my opinion, Shawn led the match perfectly, palying the bad guy role to his best and tracing the groove for the rise of DX and the Montreal Screwjob. The spot were bulldog gets stuck into the barriers is genius and so it is the final Figure 4 Leglock."

[7.0] "Fairly good show here, one that the WWF/WWE would never replicate in the UK again. A lot of the mid-card was average and served as filler, as far as I'm concerned. HHH/Dude Love was a fun opener that served its purpose well. The last three matches are the highlights of this event. Vader and Owen Hart had a good encounter that played on the size difference. Bret Hart vs the Undertaker was awesome. A really good match that was only hindered by the finish. Main event is where the story is. A scripted screw-job, one foreshadowing what would come later that year. The match itself was enjoyable and worthy of the main event slot, but the heat against HBK, during and after the match, is what solidified his heel turn as far as I'm concerned. A once in a lifetime PPV that is worth revisiting."

Main Event war das klare MOTN und einfach sehr sehr gut *** 3/4."
[9.0] "Very good PPV, unfortunately WWF won't have good ones in England after that for a long time. Hunter vs Dude Love is a great way to start the show. Other undercard matches are good too because of awesome English crowd. Owen vs Vader is a very good small man vs giant match. Taker vs Hart is awesome. Nearly as good as their SummerSlam match but ending is disappointing. Main event is just great. Shawn Michaels took really awesome heat from fans. Interferences made this match even better. British Bulldog was a real hero. Some people don't like the win of Michaels but I think that it was a great way to make HBK one of the most hated heels in history and it done its work well."
[5.0] "Die Show fliegt im großen Wrestling-Jahr 1997 besonders in Deutschland noch mehr unter dem Radar, als die standardmäßigen IYH-Veranstaltungen, die hier ja im TV ebenfalls nicht zu sehen sind. Umso schwieriger ist es zu dieser Zeit als WWF Fan, den Roten Faden der McMahon Promotion im Auge zu behalten. One Night Only ist im Prinzip eine insbesondere für den Britischen Markt gehypte House-Show mit durch den Titelwechsel im Mainer begründeter Nachhaltigkeit. Das muss man mit knapp zehntägiger Verzögerung den deutschen Zuschauern erst einmal verklickern. Zum Event - der Opener hat eine gewisse Historie, aber deutlich weniger Klasse, als man von dieser Konstellation gewohnt ist. Das kann man auch über LOD vs. Godwinns sagen, die hier noch schlechter performen, als sonst ohnehin schon. Auch der Rest der Midcard befindet sich im qualitativen Nirvana der Bedeutungslosigkeit, allenfalls das frische Match zwischen Funk und Patriot transportiert eine angenehme Workrate. Boricuas/Headbangers und Owen/Vader sind bei allem Willen weder Fisch noch Fleisch, der Auftritt des Tigers sogar ein Komplettschuß in den Ofen. Mein MOTN ist der Co-Mainer zwischen Taker und Hitman, die hier zwar nicht am Limit, aber denoch durchaus akzeptabel performen. Das Hauptmatch verläuft mir in Finish, Ergebnis und Konsequenz zu fragwürdig, um einen wirklich großen Wurf darzustellen. Insgesamt ziemlich seichte Show mit kleinem Knalleffekt."
[6.0] "1. Der Opener war in ordnung. Beide sollten aber noch bessere Matches miteinander haben. Hier hätte man ruhig Love gewinnen lassen können. (2 3/4*) 2. Singh gegen Cassidy konnte man getrost vergessen. (1 1/4*) 3. Headbangers gegen Los Boricuas war auch nicht gut. (1 1/2*) 4. Patriot gegen Funk war dann schon um einiges besser. Eigentlich ein Face gegen Face Match, aber der Patriot wird ausgepfiffen. Gimmick zieht halt nur in Amerika. (2 3/4*) 5. TT Match war dann wieder weniger gut. Beide Teams waren halt nicht für In-Ring-Können bekannt. (1 1/2*) 6. Vader gegen Owen war dann wieder besser. Vor allem Owen mit einer starken Leistung. Hier hätte ich ihm den Sieg gegönnt. (3 1/4*) 7. Co Mainer war dann auch gut. Bei Harts Entrance kann man glatt Gänsehaut bekommen. Die Reaktionen während des Matches sind auch gut. Mir ging es trotzdem einen Ticken zu lang und das DQ Finish enttäuscht. (3 3/4*) 8. ME war dann auch gut. Natürlich trüben hier die Entscheidungen im Backstage Bereich im Nachhinein doch etwas den Gesamteindruck. (3 3/4*)"
[6.0] "Der Opener war von der Qualität her auch noch ganz gut, aber dann kam lange Zeit nichts mehr. Ali Singh vs. Leif Cassidy hatte bei einem PPV nichts verloren, war jedoch zum Glück kurz. Head Bangers vs. Boricuas war auch nicht gerade großartig, bekam jedoch gute Reaktionen von der Crowd. Patriot vs. Funk hatte keinen Aufbau und mit den Godwinns konnte ich nie etwas anfangen. Dann stieg das Niveau allerdings. Owen vs. Vader war besser, als ich es erwartet habe und hatte eine tolle Schlussphase, wieso man Vader hier gewinnen ließ weiß ich jedoch nicht. Die Hart Foundation war sehr beliebt in England sollte jedoch keinen erfolgreichen Abend haben. Bret vs. Taker war dann wie fast jedes Match, das diese 2 gegeneinander hatten. Es war gut, aber für mich einen Tick zu lang (*** 1/2). Der ME war das MOTN und verleihte Michaels überragende Heat, wenn auch erneut durch Backstage-Bullshit und leere Versprechungen. So bekam man am Ende zusammenfassend noch einen sehr ordentlichen PPV."
[7.0] "Coole Show vor einem tollen Publikum und durchweg guten Leistungen im Ring. Ausfälle gab es hier eigentlich keinen, dafür viele gute Matches wie z. B. das Opening Match und Owen Hart gegen Vader, auch der Rest war absolut in Ordnung. Undertaker gegen Bret Hart fand ich stark und wartete mit etlichen Tricks und Kniffen auf, wirklich gut. Der Main Event konnte sich auch sehen lassen, auch wenn Michaels hier bisweilen wieder etwas "übermotiviert" wirkte und der Ein- bzw. Angriff von Diana Hart-Smith am Ende so schlecht aussah, dass ich erst dachte, sie will Michaels bei dem Move unterstützen. Mit der Show macht man auf jeden Fall nichts verkehrt und die drei Stunden bieten gute Unterhaltung."
[6.0] "Der Opener zwischen Hunter und Dude Love (die Reinkanation von Foley, die ich am wenigsten leiden kann) war ordentlich. Danach folgte aber viel belangloses Zeug, dass zwar bis auf Cassidy vs Singh nicht wirklich schlecht war, aber auch ganz weit weg von gut. Erst mit dem Co-Main Event beginnt die Show eigentlich erst. Hier sehen wir eine Schlacht zwischen dem Taker und Bret Hart, die wirklich nicht schlecht war und ruhig im Matchguide aufgenommen werden könnte. Das DQ-Finish wurde dem MAtch dann nicht gerecht, aber war wohl nicht anders machbar, um keinem der Beiden zu schaden. Der Main Event ist dann Emotion pur. Die HAlle kocht und das Macht ist auch nicht schlecht, auch wenn es viel zu viele Restholdphasen gibt. Aufgrund des Overbookings wird eine gute Matchstory erzählt und HBK schafft es, dass die gesamte Halle ihn hasst. Insgesamt ein durchschnittlicher PPV, der nur aufgrund der letzten beiden Matches überhaupt noch auf dieses Niveau gehoben wird. Grundsätzlich reicht es auch, sich genau diese beiden Matches anzuschauen."
[7.0] "Satisfying event in England, it's almost a recorded house show more than a classic pay per view event. The final three matches are interesting and I think they are well executed. Triple H vs Dude Love is another good one in their series. The rest of the undercard is really bad, Head Bangers vs DOA would have been a better choice."

Match of the Night der Main-Event wieder mal ein fantastisches Match von Shawn Michaels vs The British Bulldog **** nach diesem Match ist Shawn allererster Grand Slam Champion (was schreibe ich den da wieder mit Triple Crown) geworden und seine Titelegentschaft als WWF European Champion war auch eine lange Zeit. Die restlichen Matches waren nur durchschnitt. Für mich trotzdem ein sehr guter UK PPV. Hier war auch Carsten Schaefer der Ringsprecher."
[8.0] "Triple H gegen Dude Love hat man schon besser gesehen, war aber trotzdem richtig ordentlich. Tiger Ali Singh gegen Leif Cassidy war schlecht. Das Tag Title Match ging in Ordnung. Patriot gegen Flash Funk war schwach. LOD gegen die Godwinns war wieder ordentlich. Aber dann gings los. Vader gegen Owen war schon richtig gut. Bret gegen den Taker ein richtig starkes Match und besser als beim Summerslam. Der Main Event sieht dann einen extrem grandiosen Heel Shawn Michaels und einen starken Hometown-Hero British Bulldog. Gute Show."
[5.0] "This was a bit of a lackluster show. I thought WWF would put on a better show to represent their product in England. While it wasn't terrible it wasn't really notable either. HHH & Dude Love opened the show with a decent effort. Tiger Ali Singh vs. Leif Cassidy & Headbangers vs. Los Boricuas both fell flat. The Patriot & Flash Funk was not very good either. I think this match was hurt by Patriot not expecting to be booed as much as he was, it seemed to throw him off his game a bit. L. O. D. /Godwinns, Owen/Vader, & Bret/Undertaker were all decent matches. The main event of HBK vs. Bulldog was not as good as it should have been. 5 of 10 for a pretty forgettable event."
[7.0] "Opener ist ziemlich cool, Love kann sehr lange dominieren (die UK Fans sehen quasi seine Rache für alles zuvor), ehe mal wieder Chyna den Unterschied macht. Die Fans sind super drin und es macht einfach spaß, 7/10. Singh ist so ein Wrestler, bei dem man den Push nie verstehen wird, 4/10. Das Tag Match war das, was man erwarten konnte. Einer der Headbangers wird isoliert, wrestlerisch keine Offenbarung, 5/10. Patriot gegen Flash Funk ist cool, die Finish-Phase sehr stark, 6/10. Das zweite Tag Match konnte man auch so etwarten, aber das war auch gut so, sehr cooles Finish, 6/10. Vader gegen Owen ist richtig gut, einfach nur gut, sehr starkes Big Man gegen Techniker Match, 7/10. Bret gegen Taker ist beinahe etwas zu lang geraten, aber beide verstehen es natürlich, diese Zeit zu füllen. Gutes Bodypartwork von Bret, Undertaker vermöbelt diesen einfach, Story hat also gepasst, 7/10. Zum Mainer mehr im Guide, 8/10. Insgesamt gerade am Schluss raus eine starke Show, 7 Punkte."
[5.0] "Die letzten beiden Matches waren gut. Die restlichen Matches waren aber meist eher solide bis schwach. Insgesamt aber dennoch einer der besseren UK PPVs, die ja doch meist eher schwach waren."

[7.0] "So ganz richtig kann ich die schlechte Bewertung hier auch nicht nachvollziehen. Sicherlich ist das ganze insgesamt kein Meisterstück, aber die letzten drei Matches des Abends kann man sich ohne wenn und aber anschauen und sieht dabei meiner Meinung nach auch Matches, die problemlos im Matchguide auftauchen könnten. Alles davor ist halt mittelmäßig, aber sicherlich auch nicht katastrophal schlecht, wobei hier der Opener und das WWF Tag Team Titles Match hervorzuheben sind. Dazu kommt noch ne recht nette Stimmung in der Halle und halt ein gewisses britisches/europäisches Flair. Daher gibs von mir 7 Punkte."
[7.0] "Starker Opener zwischen Dude Love und HHH (8/10). Leif Cassidy gibt sich alle Mühe, ist am Ende aber einem völlig talentfreien Tiger Ali Singh ausgeliefert (4/10). Headbangers vs. Los Boricuas ist akzeptabel, aber ohne jegliche Höhepunkte (5/10). Patriot vs. Funk ist etwas besser (6/10). Mit LOD vs. Godwinns gab es wieder etwas Interessanteres, allerdings blieb dieses Match auch ohne Überraschungsmomente. Am Ende fällt der Sieg der LOD sehr eindeutig aus (6/10). Mit Vader vs. Owen Hart gibt es endlich wieder ein richtig gutes Match (8/10). Bret Hart und der Undertaker liefern eine lange, spannende und sehr taktisch geführte Ringschlacht ab. Das Finish ist mal ein richtiges Kuriosum (10/10). Und auch Michaels und der Bulldog legen wie gewohnt einen Klassiker auf's Parkett (10/10). Gesamt: 7, 125 Punkte. Fazit: Lediglich in der Undercard gab es ein paar zusammengewürfelte und unbedeutende Matches, fraglich bleibt jedoch, warum hier einige Leute 4 Punkte vergeben haben. Allein schon wegen der hervorragenden Hauptkämpfe ist der PPV auf jeden Fall sehenswert."

Shawn vs Bulldog war sehr gut (****), Hart vs Taker war besser als ihr Summerslam Match (****1/4, leider war das Finish im Vergleich eher enttäuschend), Owen vs Vader immer noch ***1/4 bis ***1/2, HHH vs Mankind rund ***. Der Rest war entweder durchschnittlich (LOD vs Godwinns, Headbangers vs Los Boricuas) oder knapp darunter. Macht alles in allem eine gute Zwei."

Die ersten 6 Matches waren nich gerade besonderlich gut, aber danach wurde es besser, Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker war für mich das Match des Abends, und zum Main Event muß ich sagen, da war ich ziemlich enttäuscht, weil der British Bulldog bei seinem Heimspiel eine Niederlage einstecken mußte, ein DQ oder Count Out wären da auch noch akzeptabel gewesen!"
