[7.0] "One of the best RAW's of the year without a doubt. Some great wrestling with the Viking Rules Match, the Main Event and Gunther vs Riddle, some good matches (with bad finishes) like Nakamura vs Reed, new Tag Champs (I don't dig Sonya and Chelsea, but I can't deny they were popular, so they must be doing something right). Rollins vs Bálor segment was amazing (Bálor is so much better when he speaks in a calm way. He seems more intimidating). One more week of a Cody Rhodes self indulgent promo, praising his mother and without being able of not mentioning his father at all. It looks like Cody isn't nothing without reminding everyone he is Dusty's son and that he is doing everything for him. But I loved the detail of Brock Lesnar playing mind games with Cody. It's not Brock's style, he is a pure beast that relies on physical violence, but he knows Cody is not like the rest and that his will is unbreakable, so he tries to get as deep in his mind as he can. That was cool. The Miz bragging about his only victory of the year was so funny. For the first time in a long time (maybe ever), three hours of RAW were easy to watch. Segments had the right time and we got some pretty good wrestling. Well done, Hunter, well done."

[5.0] "[5.0] I wasn't as infatuated with this Raw as everyone else seems to be, which is strange given that I've enjoyed the past few weeks a whole lot. My main issue with the show is that the storylines are progessing at a plodding pace. We've been seeing the same matchups for the past month, with very little variation or progression. Hopefully things can be shaken up over the next month, because it's been a little tiring seeing (admitedly well-done) variations of the same exact content week in and week out."

[5.0] "It was a decent show. Cody and Brock kinda feel a little repetitive at this point, just like Becky and Trish storyline. Gunther always put a nice performance. Both women matches were forgettable. I enjoyed the Viking Rules match way more than I tought I would. Nakamura was there just to remind me that the G1 is happening right now. And the Main Event is to remind us that Sami and K.O. is one of the best things of professional wrestling right now."

"Sees that RAW has an unusually high user score. Notices Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn won in the main event. Oh, Cagematch users... They never fail. But in all seriousness, Zayn-bias aside, this was a beautiful episode in which my favorite match was Gunther's victory over Matt Riddle, albeit quick (after all, we're on a weekly show)."

"//4.25 out of 5// - SumerSlam is shaping up to be one heck of a show, with feuds getting that personal touch as rivalries should be engraved for with one of the top highlights being that Finn Balor promo that's kept well in Kayfabe and what the occurrence happened in real life, while tensions rose for Gunther's next opponent in Drew McIntyre after a gruelling opening contest. From top to bottom, WWE Raw on July 17 delivered a phenomenal show. As an in-ring performance goes, Sami/Owens have yet another excellent main event, that likely made Dominick's best showing as of yet and the very silly but entertaing Viking Rules match that showcased the underrated side of two crowd favourites. For now though, its another good show, as things are starting to come together at the right time. For now though, its another good show, as things are starting to come together at the right time."

[8.0] "A great Raw, the matches all served a purpose, even Cross getting squashed by Baszler, Ronda Rousey cut a decent promo and she even had some good points. Miz TV segment was great and i enjoyed the opening with Cody & BRock."

[8.0] "This was a really solid weekly show, especially for one still a few weeks out from a PLE. I'd give it an 8.5 if that was possible. Not quite to a 9, but pretty darn solid. This episode of RAW had good storyline progressions that set up some expected matches for Summerslam. Cody getting flattened by Brock in his hometown was standard WWE trope, but worked for their feud and gave the obligatory SS setup. The women's tag title change was a surprise, but works in the bigger picture and the heels will be great value as champions. The Viking Rules match and main event both ruled. The only real low points were the Rousey and Baszler promo and the Reed v Nakamura match. They were both pants. Otherwise, best RAW in a while."

[10.0] "This show was just really fun to watch. Cody feels like a marquee guy. If WWE keeps this momentum up, he could be on the "people who don't watch wrestling know who he is" tier of greatness. The Seth/Finn segment was expertly produced and was pretty much all the company needed to build to a match. The Viking Rules match was the stupidest type of fun. Main Event was great and actually had me on the edge of my seat for a title change. One of the better Raws this year."

[3.0] "It would be an acceptable show, if you didn't watch WWE for the last 2 months, we had over and over the same matches with the same names in the same places of the card. It seems like a replica: Riddle vs Gunther again, Vikings Raider vs Alpha Academy for the third time in the dumbest stipulation match that i remember, main event involving Judgment Day vs KO and Sami again. They no longer know what to invent and the result is this."

[8.0] "Some lackluster matches but overall good show. Gunther vs Riddle was a banger and was match of the night. Chelsea and Sonya vs Liv and Raquel was really good , Liv looked resilient and I'm excited for Liv vs Rhea. Vikings vs Alpha was good minus the interference and finish , the match was satisfactory. Shayna vs Nikki was obviously worst of the night , I'm not a huge fan of Nikki Cross but she doesn't deserve to get squashed by the worst wrestler on the roster. Shayna's promo after the match was also really bad , Ronda tried to make it good but she couldn't help Shayna. Triple H should send Shayna to the Performance center she is horrible on the ring and mic. Bronson vs Nakamura was satisfactory but not as good as their first two matches. The dq finish didn't help but , Tommaso has some matches on Bronson and Nakamura which should be good. Main event was a good defense for Kevin and Sami minus the Rhea interference, but I liked Liv coming out setting up a match. The best segment was alpha academy promo on raw talk they are so entertaining and they are getting better together , Maxxine took a table bump and she's getting so much better in the ring thanks to the guy she works with , they are going to send Vikings to Narnia which was a funny line. Otis also made another beef reference."

[8.0] "A really great Raw with both excellent promos and matches. Riddle and Gunther put on a great show which nicely ended their feud and sets up the match w/ Drew. The Viking rules match blew all expectations out the water and the women's tag title change was pleasing to see. Shayna/Rousey is heating up well and although I don't know where the Bronson/Shinsuke/Ciampa/Miz story is going, the match was still good tonight. And of course the main event was superb. Only downside was another slightly painful Trish promo, but all good except that."

[9.0] "Great Raw, thought for some reason I'd be in the minority here but seems to be that a majority thought the same. Good mix of matches and segments which delivered. We are officially on the build to SummerSlam and all the Feuds are heating up. Gunther vs Riddle was a good match maybe even better than there MITB match, the way the women's tag title change was set up and executed was great. Brock and Cody segment was fun and a good way to get Brock major heat leading into SummerSlam where I think he will be cleanly defeated by Cody. Shayna and Ronda promo was once again entertaining, Ronda even managed to have some decent lines, honestly this is the most Ronda and Shayna have felt like themselves since there initial runs in the company. Seth and Finn had a pretty good backstage segment, The Viking rules match and the main event were excellent matches to top off a hot Raw heading to SummerSlam."

LadySnowblood wrote on 18.07.2023:
[7.0] "That was overall a solid Raw Episode with some good matches and promos, but also with some unecessary and pointless stuff. There where two womens matches which got combined 5:42 ring time. That's not good for a 3 hour show, despite a promo segment with Trish and Becky."

I think this version of finn is best on main roster & he has to win at SS 6:- Loved that nakamura angle , a edgier nakamura can be very good ! 7 :- Main event was just bonkers fun , what a time for tag team wrestling fan !"

The match between Gunther and Riddle turned out to be quite good, but certainly not the way it was at MITB! Undisputed Tag Team Champions Came out strong!"
