[6.0] "It's WWE in MSG, they have to go big there, right? Well, on paper, they did, but this show had very little substance. The Bloodline segments were appropriate for this show, taking more than 50% of the show's time. Still, I feel like the story continues to feel stale and doesn't reach the level it had before WrestleMania. Then everything else, except everything related to Edge and Grayson Waller, was pure bad filler. The AJ Styles and Kross feud is a joke, the women's segment, irrelevant and the Sheamus vs Theory match was rushed. Edge vs Waller was just ok, a good showcase for the rookie. A quite pretentious show with little substance."

Edge and Waller was a good pairing in both the Waller effect and the match. Waller might have benefitted more from the win but it was still good for him. The Brawling Brutes v Theory and Pretty Deadly feud is alright."

[2.0] "This show was awful. The show might as well be called "Friday Night Bloodline" because that's all it's ever about. The opening segment was 30 minutes of stalling and crowd pandering that lead to a bland 10 minute beatdown. All of this could have been done in 15-20 minutes. The rest of the show greatly suffered from Roman's non-existent time management skills as it was badly rushed with very minimal in-ring action. Austin Theory VS Sheamus was a damn near copy-paste of their match a little over a month ago. Theory badly needs a feud to sink his teeth into because his booking has been complete shit since the John Cena match. Grayson Waller Effect continues to not work that well on the main roster, although this one at least led to something for Waller this time. AJ Styles VS Karrion Kross suffered from Bloodline-syndrome more than anything else on this show, being cut down to a measly 90 seconds. Pathetic. The women's division, as per usual when Roman is around, got scraps yet again this week but made the most of their minutes in an excellent segment that established the 5 major players in the division going forward. The women got maybe 2 minutes max yet managed to have a far more compelling and exciting segment than the Bloodline did in 40 minutes. Let that sink in. Edge VS Grayson Waller was a fun main event that helped put Grayson on the map despite losing. Then Roman came out again and Jey cut a decent promo setting up the SummerSlam match, which basically rendered the entire Tribal Court segment a pointless waste of time outside of writing Jimmy off, which could have been done in 5 minutes. Embarrassing episode. 2 points for Edge/Waller and the women."

[6.0] "I'm honestly relieved to see this Smackdown episode RIGHTFULLY get criticized on here. Honestly, last night is one of the MANY reasons why Smackdown is easily my LEAST favorite wrestling show (in WWE) on television, and the overhyped Bloodline nonsense is a BIG reason why this show rarely ever gets me hyped. First of all, if you're not a Bloodline fan at all, then Smackdown offers pretty much NOTHING that other wrestling shows don't already provide for you. There's BARELY any women's wrestling matches on this show as opposed to NXT or Raw; which is BAFFLING when you remember that WWE's top 3 best female workers in WWE (aka Asuka + Io Shirai + Charlotte Flair) ALL being on Smackdown's roster. There's also RARELY much wrestling going on during the 2 hours on Smackdown; which is already provided for you on Rampage with MORE wrestling (despite having the Friday night death slot despite only being 1 hour). Even if you ignore other workrate promotions like AEW, NJPW, and ROH; Raw + NXT gives the WWE fans much more wrestling content compared to Smackdown. Plus, how about the fact that AJ Styles (who's still the best male wrestler on the blue brand) being given less than 20 cumulative minutes of TV time over the last MONTH? Heck, top talents like AJ Styles, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Io Shirai, and Bayley were unceremoniously robbed from their TV time just because the Bloodline segment HAD to go twice as long then they were originally supposed to receive (which was MEANT to be 20 minutes, which is ALSO incompetency on WWE's booking team). Finally, I'm not even a fan of this guy at all; but LA Knight (who's really over right now) being left off the Madison Garden show is a hilariously questionable booking decision. Seriously, there was NO good reason why the Bloodline HAD to be given 40 minutes with their opening segment, and even 50+ MINUTES for the entire show. It shouldn't take you over a half-hour to get to the point in your (opening) segment(s). Anyway, the show at least had the decency to have a fan favorite in Jey Uso close the show on a good note for the audience. Plus, Edge and Grayson Waller were the highlights of the show in the 2nd hour. Plus, Austin Theory vs Sheamus turned out to be a really good US title match in the end. Jey, Edge + Waller, and Theory vs Sheamus were enough to make this a 7/10 show for me. However, the Bloodline stink taking TV time away from everyone else on the Smackdown roster equates to me taking another point off this show; so I'm giving this overrated show a 6 overall here. Seriously, Roman Reigns's mediocre reign of terror + superpush NEEDS to end soon at this point. He's an albatross to the product and the main event picture quality-wise (with those overhyped numbers being damned)."

[3.0] "The bloodline segment went on for 40 minutes! The same result could have been accomplished in 5. The women's bit was rushed to an absurd degree and I would rather have had a discussion between Bayley and IYO clarifying why they are still working together. Though not part of the show, those dark 'title' matches are an insult to fans with any kind of intellect."

[6.0] "This was just satisfactory I agree that the bloodline stuff especially the end segment was great, but the show was rushed when you have a one minute match between AJ and Kross that shows the rushed segment and there were no women matches we just had rushed segment which wasn't that good it just progressed the feud. Austin Vs Sheamus was a fine match that felt very copy and paste from their first it wasn't bad but it wasn't good , Theory is losing credibility by winning like this he's supposed to be the next big thing but with this type of matches he might not be. Aj Vs Kross was too short , too much interference, and Karrion was made to look weak , AJ needs big wins but I don't know what they're doing with him either there putting him against a man who's not over at all , they need to start a Grayson vs AJ feud which would be fire. Edge vs Grayson was a fun match, but slow moments in between hurt it , Grayson looked good and the finish was smooth . Edge told Grayson hr swam which was a nice show of respect to the Aussie. All in all fine show but too much rushed segments and lack of women's matches hurt it."

[4.0] "Once again Smackdown failed at it's basic purpose, to be a wrestling show. The Bloodline segment could have been done just as effectively in a third of the time - probably more effectively as it was pretty repetitive - and they could have had 30 minutes more wrestling. There's no real excuse for having less than half of a wrestling show being, you know, wrestling. The two matches that counted were good but not spectacular, but not enough to make the show worthwhile."
JoseluLock wrote on 08.07.2023:
[4.0] "Although the Bloodline storyline has been good overall, dedicatting almost 40 minutes to guys doing bad community theater is certainly a choice. The ending segment was 5 minutes long and was far more effective. The rest of the show existed. Theory is mediocre, Waller had a fine showing, the women got like 3 minutes and Kross is bound to work for Billy Corgan."

"I'll just comment because this site already thinks I'm biased, but a two hour show that had three matches? One that was a squash and can't be rated here? They really should just call this show WWE Bloodline because it's very clear that is all this company cares about anymore."
Liuk wrote on 08.07.2023:
"An episode that I find difficult to evaluate, the segments were all more or less good, a part Asuka that should be the top of the female division instead they make appear her like the last of the upper card. There were i think 40 minutes of Bloodline that were great, but i'm starting to hope that this storyline will end soon cause are stealing too much time to other wrestlers and matches during the show, a decent debut for greyson waller but make him loss against somone near the retirment was a very stupid move. It wasn't bad but i hope that a weekly show like this don't happen again soon."

[4.0] "I remember the days when World Wrestling Entertainment used to actually care about the wrestling. Three matches in a two-hour show with one of those matches being a sub-two-minute squash and less than 30 combined minutes of in-ring action. Now it's just a dog and pony show wanting to create cinema moments so they can talk about deserving Emmy awards but then never actually nominating themselves for the same Emmy awards they complain about never winning or getting nominated for."
eltetechori wrote on 08.07.2023:
[7.0] "A show full of The Bloodline, in fact, over 70% of the show was entirely devoted to that faction. I think if the opening segment had been cut it would have been a much better show. Few fights and leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth because the continuation of stories has been with a lot of development for The Bloodline and very little for the others. It is not a bad show, but it is true that there is a factor, which is if you are more or less entertained by the story of The Bloodline."
b1llythomas wrote on 08.07.2023:
"Although not much time was made for the women's division, the bloodline story was so invigorating it needed the time it took. Theory's match was predictable but Edge v Waller was a nice surprise and a good match considering the ring rust they both may have. As much as the wrestling wasn't 10/10, I was captivated throughout the episode which is all you can really ask."

[4.0] "This was a really underwhelming episode of Smackdown. The opening Bloodline saga was to be expected, and was well put together, but fell straight back into the same old stuff category. They seemed to have reignited the story leading up to MITB, but its fallen back into the predictable old pattern as they look to drag it out and milk it as long as they can. The circle back in the closing segment was good as well, and laid the foundation for Roman vs Jey at Summerslam, although the lead up now has to drag out for four long weeks. Solo continues to play his part really well, grappling between loyalty to brothers and fulfilling his elder-given role, keeping the fans guessing in the process. Then theres the rest of the show meh. The Edge and Waller match was the only one long enough to be able to rate, and it was just there. An appearance for Edge, and an opportunity to give Waller a debut bump, even without putting him over. AJ Styles, one of the best the is, gets a few minutes with Karrion Kross. Sheamus and Theory was decent, but it was more of the same tired and predictable sneaky put-over for Theory, while hoping the rub of Sheamus might help people actually care about Theory. The womens segment at least furthered some intrigue around the womens championship, but was still pretty meh, even with the cash-in tease. Overall, a very mid Smackdown."

[8.0] "Good show, The Bloodline stuff obviously carried but I'm not too mad that it was the main focus on this show as it's still consistently the hottest storyline they have and Roman is there. Edge and Grayson Waller also had a good segment and an even better match. So far I don't think the Grayson Waller effect segments have been very good at all on the main roster but I think this was finally the one they needed to make it feel like a big deal. Sheamus vs Theory match was good, AJ vs Kross was sadly a nothing match although always happy to see AJ, women's segment was rushed but a decent tease for Iyo cashing in which will most likely happen after the triple threat at SummerSlam. MSG crowd was good and sucked to see LA Knight not on TV."

[4.0] "This Smackdown Episode had a very long Bloodline segment. In my opinion it went on way too long to get to the point and was very predictable. As a bonus there was Edge and only 3 wrestling matches with no women's match on the show."
BigDouglasFade wrote on 08.07.2023:
[9.0] "3 strong matches with the only mildly weak match being Edge vs Grayson Waller which I guess can be taken as both of them having ring rust having not wrestled much recently, hot opener between Sheamus and Theory and a strong match between AJ Styles and Karrion Kross. Of course the Bloodline drama is incredible TV but the segment with the women got me very excited as to what the path of the title will be."
BigDave123 wrote on 08.07.2023:
[9.0] "Awesome show again, maybe could have had more action in the ring but the segments with The Bloodline were incredible and the womens segment was great for the build up for Summerslam. Triple H has been criticised for not building up the shows enough in the past but that can't be labelled after tonight. Austin Theory vs Sheamus was a very strong match but I do think that his title reign has been stale for a while and it's not helping his development as a wrestler, so I would take the title off him soon."
