[9.0] "The final day of the tournament ends with a great show. Don't know if Kiyomia is staying in NJPW or how long his stay is but he's had a great run. Satoshi Kojima and Tiger Mask 4 appear for the final day but they are getting up there in age. Of course we're setting up the big feuds for Destruction tour including Just 5 Guys vs House of Torture which they had a clunky match. Naito winning was probably the best decision because I'm getting sick of Okada at the top."
[10.0] "Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa vs Oskar Leube & Toru Yano: Decent opener, Oskar Leube and Ryohei Oiwa showcased their limited move set which was good to see and Kiyomiya and Yano looked good in the ring together too [**3/4]. Master Wato, Shota Umino, Tomoaki Honma & Yuji Nagata vs El Desperado, Minoru Suzuki, Ren Narita & Yuto Nakashima: Ren Narita and Shota Umino starting the match with hard-hitting action, and the rest of the match was good even with the interesting moments between Minoru Suzuki and Shota Umino, the rest of the wrestlers involved looked good [**3/4]. Eddie Kingston, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tomohiro Ishii & YOH vs TenKoji, Tiger Mask & Togi Makabe: Decent, hard-hitting undercard match that I enjoyed, all played their role within the match well [***]. Boltin Oleg, Hirooki Goto, Ryusuke Taguchi & YOSHI-HASHI vs Kosei Fujita, Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste & Zack Sabre Jr: A great match that not only highlighted Boltin Oleg but also made the more experienced guys within the match look good as well [***1/4]. Guerillas Of Destiny & El Phantasmo vs BULLET CLUB: El Phantasmo looked strong against BC War Dogs and the ending looked cool when Tanga Loa countered Chase Owens' la magistral to pin him [***]. Los Ingobernables de Japon vs United Empire: Interesting but good match, as did not expect Yota Tsuji to pin Will Ospreay and that spear Tsuji hit on Ospreay to pin him looked cool [***1/4]. Just 5 Guys vs House Of Torture: Did not enjoy this one to be honest, H.O.T cannot win without using their underhanded shenanigans [*]. Kazuchika Okada vs Tetsuya Naito: Absolute banger of a G1 Climax final, they tore the fucking house down with this instant classic, Naito winning was the best decision, best match of the whole tournament this year, one of the better G1 Climax Finals ive seen in recent memory [*****1/2]"
"Awesome final match of G1 Climax 33 between Okada and Naito, two of the biggest names in New Japan. Naito wins his 3rd G1. He's bound to put together one more world title run and nothing won't stop him from achieving his destiny. Great Tranquilo pose with Masahiro Chono, truly classic image."
[9.0] "G1 Climax 33 Finale was everything you want from the final show. It set up the next tour very well with undercard tags and promos, it had really fun hard hitting matches and the G133 Final was an incredible masterpiece from both men. This was a really fun show to watch, and a great way to cap off the tour while building into Destruction tour very nicely. I don't have many complaints about this show."
[9.0] "This was a one-match show: the G1 Climax final between Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito was absolutely fantastic and a fitting addition to their series (maybe their best one yet). Outside of the finals, the LIJ/UE eight-man was great fun, and the rest of the undercard ranged from good to fine."
[5.0] "Ok, we could get Tsuji vs Ospreay for the UK belt but the rest of the undercard of this show was more or less boring and not interesting. Anyway we 'll get in the future also Umino vs Narita and Tenzan vs Ishii, don't ask me why NJPW is booking this rivalry. Luckly the main - event was 5*. **1/2"
[10.0] "A fantastic show! New Japan really stuck the landing with the G1 this year. There were a lot of complains toward the end of the tournament with people unhappy with the undercard tag matches. Each of these were good and showcased what we should expect in the fall. Kaito ends his run with a win and I like his pairing with Oiwa. Im curious if well see Oiwa make an appearance in NOAH alongside Kaito. Shota Umino and Ren Narita look like they want to kill each other and I love it! Those two need this rivalry to work (especially Ren) and its adding a lot of character to them. Eddie Kingston vs HENARE will be a fine STRONG title defense for the Mad King. HENARE improved a lot with this tournament and Kingston feels right at home in NJPW. The New Japan Dads are so over lately. Its great. TMDK are such a great unit. ZSJ vs Oleg will be a fun and I hope TMDK dont lose yet another tag title match this year. They always bounce back but Bishamon have yet to have a long reign and TMDK cant keep losing. BC vs GoD set up a lot of future matches. My only issue is were seeing people who lost to reigning champions issue challenges whereas usually you have to pin the champ to get a title shot. Theyre at least showing that the champions are out for blood/revenge so it works. LIJ vs United Empire was so much fun. I am floored by the clean finish and I cannot wait for Tsuji vs Ospreay. Ospreay sold that spear like he was broken in half and Im curious where they go with the newly christened UK title. HoT vs J5G was what you would expect. Taichi getting pinned by SHO just convinced me that Taichi is now in the Goto spot. Its great for him but a part of me will always wonder what if the Holy Emperor was given more of a chance. EVIL vs SANADA works on paper but their characters lately arent meaning well. If we can get a match similar to the Okada/EVIL semifinal, and with the way the crowd reacted in Ryogoku, then NJPW was smart to book this match there. They got such a massive reaction that it works. The main event was phenomenal. Naito has been on a string of fantastic singles matches lately and he tied his series with Okada at 7-7. Naito was my pick to win but Okada was and will always be the perfect foil when it comes Naito and his Destino."
[10.0] "That is what you expect from a G1 final show: to build the next title matches for the next tour with the undercard tag matches. Most were cool and had the crowd's attention, the United Empire vs LIJ one was great and had a very surprising ending with Will Ospreay taking the fall after 2 spears from Yota Tsuji who seems interested by the Aerial Assassin's title. This was a great moment that made Tsuji look like an even bigger star and that singles match they're gonna have will surely be exciting. SHO pinned Taichi, that was a surprising result as well as seeing a junior beating a heavyweight is quite rare even with the House Of Torture shenanigans. EVIL had a lot of heat for challenging for the IWGP World Heavyweight title and basically stealing the belt from SANADA. And of course the show ended with the G1 Climax final, which was one of the best finals in this tournament history in front of a very hot crowd and with the right winner to send the fans home happy. Truly an amazing ending to this tournament !"
