[6.0] "This was the average middle of the tournament G1 shows that was almost all good but forgettable matches. The first four matches add nothing to the show and the second half all feels weird. Having SANADA in a Gabe Kidd brawl is nice as a little midcard bout, Tanga Loa continues to be the worst opponent for everyone in the B block, Tsuji and Umino have a good match that shot itself in the foot by teasing the time limit draw, and KENTA proves that he can be a solid wrestler but, shouldn't be in main events anymore"

SANADA vs Gabe Kidd [***]. Tanga Loa vs Will Ospreay [***3/4]. Yota Tsuji vs Shota Umino [***3/4]. Kazuchika Okada vs KENTA [****1/2]"

Tsuji v Umino was my favorite match, but Kidd/SANADA, ELP/Taichi, Kiyomiya/Hikuleo and O-Khan/Yoshi-Hashi all forwarded future narratives or just presented a good fight."

I get not every match can be a classic show stealer but its getting to the point where Ive forgot whats happened at the beginning of the show by the time it finishes. Oh and shocker, Okada isnt in prime position to go through so Osprey suddenly loses. Predictable Okada is going to win the group and if he wins the whole thing then Im pretty much done with NJPW. Kiyomiya v Hikuleo **.25 Yoshi-Hashi v Great o Khan **.5 Ren Narita v Chase Owens **.5 El Phantasmo v Taichi **.5 Sanada v Gave Kidd **.75 Will Osprey v Tanga Loa **.25 Tsuji v Umino ***.5 Okada v Kenta ***"

[3.0] "What a bad night. Both from matches quality and booking decisions. The new Three Musketeers have been booked like geeks, how do fans are supposed to care about them since they constantly take Ls and one of them is already out of the G1, that's not how you introduce someone you are supposedly high on. Why the hell is Hikuleo booked to run over Tsuji and then Kaito in less than 10 minutes ? Kaito started this tournament strong and is now eating nonsensical losses when he should be protected way more. 2023 KENTA is painful to watch and it's sad, dude was legit top 3 in the world from 2006 to 2014."

However, Night 11 of the G1 did something fundamental, it shook the groups enough so that watching the last nights of Block A and B is a must, at least with regard to the second places of both of them."

Anyway the wrestling was good and Tsuji/Umino is my MOTN but I will never forget Tonga/Ospreay, anyone could have booked it better. ***"

But it felt like a lot of guys had a night off and just didn't do much before the last 3 minutes of their match. O-Khan vs YOSHI-HASHI was the best match in my opinion, SANADA vs Gabe Kidd was great too, then Yota vs Shota was good enough but the other matches were "fine" to just average/forgettable. At least the results make the last A & B block nights more interesting because a lot of guys can still hope to make it past their block."
ChopChopChop wrote on 01.08.2023:
"The booking was just horrendous for that day. Seriously guys, Hikuleo beating Kiyomiya and Tanga Loa beating Ospreay, are you on drugs right now ? Not to mention YOSHI-HASHI only having 4 points where he should have double that amount. Things just don't make sense..."

"Not gonna rate this show because I havent watched it yet, but I think Gedo made a mistake by not having The New Three Musketeers all draw with each other, especially when the story was already there and 2/3rds completed. There are some nice upsets on this that sound interesting for later matches"
