[10.0] "The first 2 forbidden door events had special vibes. It felt like they were using the concept in the best way possible and we got the best Dream matches. This would be my favorite of them all of Bryan vs Okada wasn't the main event but I don't think anyone expected it to be underwhelming. It was still a good match but not on the level of Ospreay vs Kenny. Great show nonetheless!"
[7.0] "The matches i had high hopes on definitely delivered ie the main event and Ospreay/Omega. The rest were a mix bag for me. The world title matches were mid in my opinion. Punk/Kojima was my wildcard. It was unexpectedly fun and enjoyable thanks to the dynamic between the fans and Punk with Kojima of course."
[10.0] "Toni Vs Willow and the six man tag were both fairly weak, and both MJF Vs Tanahashi and Perry Vs SANADA were just solid at best, but Punk Vs Kojima was amazing, the AEW International four way and Bryan Vs Okada were both really fantastic, the ten man tag was phenomenal, Omega Vs Ospreay is a god tier masterpiece and the Toronto crowd was molten red hot. Overall AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door (2023) is a phenomenal show."
[8.0] "The first iteration of Forbidden Door set a very high bar, and although the 2023 version doesn't clear it, its still a very strong PPV. The main weakness is the undercard just isn't as good, with only a 2-3 really good matches. CM Punk, basking in the hate of AEW fans and months away from being fired, has a solid bout with Satoshi Kojima. There's a fun fast paced four-way with a lot of storytelling connecting the spots and everyone gets a chance to shine before Orange Cassidy snags a victory. There's a ten man tag with a huge amount of talent from AEW and NJPW(including Tomohiro Ishii, who was supposed to be here last year but wasn't medically cleared). It gets pretty chaotic but the love-hate relationship between Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley grounds it with a certain structure. But if the undercard isn't as good as last year's event, it definitely has it beat with two killer main event matches. Omega vs Ospreay was everything you were dreaming of. The new "best bout machine" vs the original. Omega won their first match back in January at Wrestle Kingdom, refusing to "pass the torch" to the new guy, and now Will is out for revenge. They weave this story throughout an incredibly paced and well executed 40 minute MOTY classic, the arrogant super talented Will as the heel and our resilient God of Pro Wrestling Omega refusing to cede his status. Which of their 2023 matches is better is up to the viewer, but I think I prefer this one. Its the big American sequel: bigger crowd, more brutal, more blood, even bigger moves, bigger stakes. Its as good a match you'll see all year, and as good a match AEW has ever done so far, which is saying a lot. Danielson/Okada feels a little underrated in comparison. The crowd wasn't as into it after the emotional roller coaster of Omega/Ospreay, and no the match wasn't quite the instant five star dream match classic fans had in their head. Regardless, its still a great main event bout between two of the best pro wrestlers of all time. The two have great chemistry, playing their roles with true technical excellence. The two big matches alone justify the event, seeing the best of the west and east perform on a huge stage."
[9.0] "The second edition of Forbidden Door was a superb show. Just the Trios fight before the main-event was maybe the only bad point of the show, otherwise everything was cool. Omega vs. Ospreay II was certainly an all-timer, Danielson and Okada displayed a crazy fight despite Danielson breaking his arm, while The Elite vs. BCC was also an insane spectacle. Punk vs. Kojima and the 4-Way for the International title were also great highlights of the night as well. The atmosphere in Toronto surely added something to the show."
[6.0] "Really let down by this, weird show overall. A lot of the matches I thought were gonna be great (Danielson/Okada, Omega/Ospreay, the Darby/Sting/Naito six man tag) really disappointed me and fell into a lot of the tropes that turn me off of AEW. The only match I was hyped for that I loved was Punk/Kojima which was definitely my match of the night. But a lot of the ones I was disinterested in surprised me. I ended up really loving the BCC/Elite match, and thought the four way with Cassidy, Garcia, ZSJ and Shibata was really good too. Very weird show but with some good parts."
[9.0] "After the disasterous double or nothing ppv this was a great ppv for a AEW to get back on track only a couple average match but the rest were decent and great 9/10"
[8.0] "AEW World Title Match- 5 average match Owen Hart Foundation 2023 Men's Tournament Quarter Final Match- 7 great match AEW International Title Four Way Match- 8 banger match IWGP World Heavyweight Title Match- 5 average match Ten Man Tag Team Match- 8 banger match AEW Women's World Title Match- 6 good match IWGP United States Heavyweight Title Match- 10 classic match Six Man Tag Team Match- 2 they tried Main Event- 7 great match."
[9.0] "A show that is really close to perfect - one of the best cards AEW had ever put on at that point. An all-time classic in Omega/Ospreay was the talk of the town. Danielson/Okada delivered a banging main event, while the 10-man tag and Intercontinental Championship 4-way were similarly entertaining. Dragging for a couple of matches that suffered from little to no build, but the in-ring credibility of this show can't be denied. [9.0]"
[8.0] "One of the best Wrestling PPV of the year so far. A solid opener to start the show. Punk vs Kojima delivered more that I was expecting. Both the Intercontinental and the IWGP were fun. The 10 Man Tag was awesome, and the women's match was decent. Ospreay and Omega delivered a MOTY candidate again. The Six Man Tag helped to calm the nerves before the main event, Despite Danielson's broken arm, he still delivered a great match with Okada."
[9.0] "A lot of great matches but the match ordering kind of hindered some of the hype. For sure Omega Ospreay should've been the main event. It had the build and the energy to send the show home. I felt out of energy after that one and tired by the time Danielson Okada rolled up. This was a show that was filled with a lot of great wrestling but most matches were missing that extra intensity to really pull the audience in."
[4.0] "Too much pointless wrestling in a row. A fuckton of predictable matches with minimal build (tbh in most cases they had no build at all) one after the other with rhyme or reason (or breather, as soon as one match ended the other started). It didn't even really come through with the dream match promises, Danielson vs Okada (which was IMO terrible) and Ospreay vs Omega (which was the match of the night) are big matches on paper, but I'm not sure anyone was clamoring for Jungle Boy vs Sanada, Punk vs Kojima and Toni Storm vs Nightingale. It's recommended for people that enjoy moves and back and forth action, but not recommended for people that are more interested in presentation, build and storytelling."
[10.0] "Man, this show was a hell of a night. Easily could had overwhelmed itself, but only did for like 3 five minute segments, but everything here did better than what could had been expected. I think it was a more fun show than All Out, but was the second best to that as best show for AEW all year."
[10.0] "One of Aew's best shows ever: many great moments and matches with the 10 man tag and Iwgp us title match being MOTYC. Mjf vs. Tanahashi was alright but Tana has his best days behind and some of his moves looked very bad and Mjf wasn't able to carry him proparly, the worst match of his title reign so far and one of the weakest matches of the Pay-Per-View. Kojima vs. Punk exceeded my expectations and turned out to be a great match. The four way match was fantastic, one of the greatest four way match off all time with all four men looking phenomenal and amazing action. Perry vs. Sanada was pretty good but it could've been better if it lasted 5 minutes longer, Perry's post-match heel turn was a great moment. The 10 man tag is a MOTYC and one of the greatest multi-man matches of all time. Storm vs. Nightingale was satisfactory. Omega vs. Ospreay was one of the greatest matches I've ever seen and MOTY so far. The six man tag was the only bad match of the night as the action was bad and boring. Sting's worst perfomance in Aew so far. Naito didn't do much as well which was a shame. Okada vs. Danielson was a bit dissapointing but still great match and considering that Danielson wrestled half of the match injured I can't give this match a negative rating. Seeing Okada tap for the first time in years was truly a shock. Overall: a phenomenal show with some amazing matches and lots of incredible moments, one of the best shows of the year."
[10.0] "Totally biased cause I was there live, but I really don't care. Objectively its probably a 9 but being there live for Omega vs Ospreay tips me towards a 10."
[9.0] "Great ppv, not better than the first edition because it lacked the same regularity, but this delivered two amazing dream matches and some other excellent bouts. Kenny vs Ospreay II was spectacular, better than any match of the first edition, and Bryan vs Okada was a dream come true, Bryan entering with The Final Countdown gave me chills."
[5.0] "Some good wrestling, some bad wrestling, and a whole lot of self-indulgent nonsense. MJF did the best he could with a Tanahashi who is, unfortunately, past the point where he should be in matches of this caliber. CM Punk & Kojima was a surprisingly fun match. The IWGP World Title going 4th from the top getting 10 minutes is a sad indictment of either Sanada's lackluster reign as champion, Perry's star power (or lack thereof) or perhaps a little of both. The 10-man tag was the most indyrific bunch of nonsense I've seen, and I hated every agonizing second of it. Omega & Ospreay were on their way to having the best match of both of their careers until they couldn't help but get in their own way with Ospreay hitting Omega with every single move under the sun and Omega kicking out and no-selling the whole thing. Why on Earth would you pull out a Tiger Driver '91 (which no one should be doing in the first place for obvious reasons) and not have it be your finish? Not to mention this match completely killed the main event by leaving them absolutely nothing they could possibly do that the crowd hadn't already seen that night."
[8.0] "Everyone did a great job of keeping the crowd engaged (even if certain performers were limited -- e.g., Tanahashi and Kojima). The Ospreay/Omega match is my Match of the Year in 2023 (thus far), and I thought the AEW International Title Match and the Ten-Man Tag over-delivered. Danielson/Okada was very good, but never quite hit the gear I wanted it to. It's clear now that Danielson's broken arm was a major factor in that being the case (and that makes the performance weirdly more impressive), but I think it's okay to say it wasn't a home-run. Being in the arena for this one, I really enjoyed the energy of the Toronto crowd and their knowledge/appreciation of the NJPW wrestlers."
[6.0] "A one match card for me but a match so good I did not mind shelling out the 20 quid. There was a lot of pretty dull wrestling on this particularly in the lower card but Omega/Will 2 was great and I want to see Danielson and Okada run it back another time."
[8.0] "forbidden door was cool, but could've been much much better. if we put the 10 Men Tag Team Match, and Kenny vs Ospreay masterpiece match aside, this show wasn't that special for me. 3 matches were in low level for me, and other matches mostly were a bit higher than average. so i think 8 is a great point for this show."
[6.0] "Strange PPV, with some very good matches (Punk vs Kojima, the four way, the ten man tag team match and the Main Event) but also very average matches (the rest of the matches (yes, I didn't find Omega vs Ospreay good)). So... it's a weird show, hard to rate."
[8.0] "Not a single bad match and an instant classic makes this show an easy one to recommend. Some of the undercard matches didn't hit the way I wanted them too and while the main event was great, it was also slightly unfulfilling. Omega/Ospreay is the easy MOTN. The 10 man tag and Punk/Kojima were also standouts."
[10.0] "I think this was an incredible card. This one had me handing out high scored matches like candy (3 10/10s and one 8/10) it was kind of average for AEW PPVS until the fatal fourway (which is to say it was still awesome because AEW PPVs have a high quality standard.) but afterwords it was amazing. The 10s I gave out were the International title fatal fourway. The Elite vs the blackpool combat club 10 person tag (which is a big compliment from me because I often enjoy multi person tags less than the average inmate) and of course Omega vs Ospreay 2 which I said in my review would have been at least an 11/10 maybe even a 12/10 if it was allowed on this site (that would be silly though I suppose haha) the main event was a bit of a let down for me because I expected to give it a 9/10 or a 10/10 but I think I let my expectations get the best of me and it couldn't possibly deliver on the hype I had. But it was still an 8/10 and I think it's dope that Bryan tapped out Okada. and of course him coming out to The Final Countdown gave me shivers from pure bliss. The only match wasn't that impressive to me was the six man tag as it just didn't feel PPV worthy to me. But overall this show was incredible and it's another big W for AEW. 10/10"
"-greatest show ive seen so far this year. 9/10. Just rewatched Kenny vs Tanahashi at the Tokio Dome and Tanahashi looks like a shell of himself. He needs to take some time of after G1 or maybe retire for his own health. -Excited to finally see CM Punk vs Kojima which delivered imo. Also delighted that Punk got elbowed in the nuts -loved the four way dance and especially shibata -Omega vs Ospreay should have been the main event because it was an all time classic, but not as good as the match from the Tokio Dome. Too much bleeding for my taste -liked the main event but underdelivered because of the injury. Hope Bryan gets ready for ALL IN. I want to here Final Countdown live"
[7.0] "(mjf vs tanahashi) To be honest it's stating to get a bit sad watching tanahashi at this point in his career his knees are clearly bothering him. i thought the match itself was okay, they wrestled a very old school style which is fine but I was expecting a little more from them, if this was tanahashi from 4 or 5 years ago this probably would have been a high 8 but as it stands. Rating: 4/10 (Punk vs Kojima) Was better then I expected, punk got a lot of heel heat from the crowd in this match which punk very much played off of. just a solid match from start to finish. Rating: 6/10 (international title 4 way) Ill be honest 4 ways aren't usually my thing and this was no exception, the match was perfectly fine but I really don't have too much to say about it. Rating: 6/10 (sanada vs Perry) while it seems like I enjoyed this more than most (I like main event sanada) Sanada and Perry really didn't work that well together, I still have no clue on why they booked this match in the first place as while Perry is a okay wrestler he's definitely not on the new japan main event level, not even close Rating: 4/10 (the elite vs blackpool combat club) now this I enjoyed. The match was a really fun 20 minutes of nonstop action. Rating: 7/10 (storm vs willow) average aew womens match not really much else to say. I want to care about the women's division but is clear Tony khan really doesn't care about womens's wrestling unfortunately Rating: 4/10 (Omega Vs Ospreay) Now for a goddamn masterpiece, I will try to summarise here. this was almost 40 minutes of near perfection the call backs to their match in the Tokyo dome, the fact that they somehow found a way to have a even more brutal match, ospreay worked as heel to perfection. I don't think I will ever forget seeing that tiger driver 91 in person, the amazing call back after match as omega a beaten down mess reaches for the us title just like ospreay did after their Tokyo dome match. This absolutely should have Been the main event. the one small nitpick was callis coming back after being ejected I don't know why they did that, but that takes nothing away from this match, while I don't think this was quite as good as their Tokyo dome match it's still without a doubt one of the best matches of the year Rating: 10/10 (the 6 man tag) basically everything I just said but the opposite, this match was a complete sloppy mess, I was glad when it was over. Rating: 3/10 (Danielson vs okada) this match certainly was interesting, I was very hyped up for this match and it unfortunately did not live up to expectations while the match was obviously effected by Danielson's injury I don't feel like this would have been a classic based off the previous 15 minutes definitely not bad but definitely no masterpiece either, okada tapping out felt like it was done just to shock you more than anything (Which it definitely did) I honestly struggle to give ratings to matches where a injury takes place. Rating: N/A"
[8.0] "Forbidden Door was a very pleasant event, which, although it had a disappointing main event in my opinion (but we could not expect otherwise given the injury) managed to entertain me pleasantly. MJF vs Tanahashi was a sufficient match, but made enjoyable by the incredible cheering of the crowd. CM Punk vs Satoshi Kojima was enjoyable, and Punk's fine line from face to heel is getting thinner and thinner. The Fatal 4 Way was fantastic, time literally flew by and I wish it could have lasted 10 minutes longer. Sanada vs Jack Perry was a very good match, which entertained me, although obviously people will remember more of the post match. Elite vs Blackpool Combat Club was nonstop fun, a spotfest that I never expected to entertain me so much and so well. Highly recommended. The women's match didn't engage me, I like Willow Nightingale but as a match it had no importance, since it was clearly a match to rest the audience. Will Ospreay vs Kenny Omega wasn't the match I expected, but in the second part it was one of the most intense and engaging things I've ever seen in a ring. I hope the two can do even better with a special stipulation. A two out of three falls or a ladder match would be my favorites. The six man tag team match before the main event was sufficient and nothing more, another match that served as a filler to rest the audience. Danielson vs Okada disappointed me. The first part was fantastic, but unfortunately everything was lost in the second part, disordinate and confusing due to Danielson's injury. We hope that, similar to Styles and Cena, they can give us the match we crave in their rematches"
"An entertaining show through and through that never dragged. It was going to be hard following last years event, but what made this years show feel different was that every match seemed important. Match #1: Tanahashi v. MJF (***1/4) A classic heel versus babyface match that acted as a best of for both men. Match #2: Punk v. Kojima (***1/2) This one surprised me a lot, not because of the talent of the two, but because of how anti-Punk the crowd was and how well he and Kojima both adapted. Credit to Excalibur on commentary too for making this feel even more special by mentioning how Punk was the face of the Indies in the early 2000s at the same time Kojima was the face of Japan, making it feel a little more like a dream match. Match #3: Garcia v. Shibata v. Cassidy v. Sabre Jr. (****) A brisk and easy watch that highlighted the technical strength and entertaining qualities of each men. The ending segment seemed to set up OC v. ZSJ which I would love. Match #4: Perry v. SANADA (***) While the result was never in doubt, the match was still a nice showcase that made SANADA feel like a badass, which is something I hope to see more of in SANADA. The ending segment with Jack Perry and HOOK was perfect. Match #5: Ten-Man Tag Team Match (****1/2) These recent multi man tag matches are just so easy to watch, but this one included so much character development and call backs, as well as teases to potential future matches, just made it that much more enjoyable. Match #6: Storm v. Willow (**3/4) Nothing mind blowing, but achieved exactly what it needed to: establishing Toni as a dominant heel champion and Willow as the fierce babyface. Willow is one of the best natural faces in the world right now. Match #7: Omega v. Ospreay II (*****) An absolutely breathtaking match that will stand the test of time. Similar to their Wrestle Kingdom match, I felt as though as was watching something special- from the callbacks to Bret Hart matches with Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels to callbacks to their previous match, to not one, but two glorious Omega kick outs. While I did prefer their WK encounter (I think because of the Callis interference and angle.) Belll-to-bell, this was truly something unique and while I understand this style isnt for everyone, it is certainly something I love and will revisit . Match #8: Six-Man Tag (**1/2) The only match on the show that I felt was mildly disappointing, but that could be its placement on the card too. Something had to follow Omega/Ospreay. Match #9: Danielson v. Okada (****1/4) While I understand why the structure of the match seemed a little confusing toward the end, I still came out of it feeling like my expectations were achieved. I mean its Danielson & Okada. These two are living legends. Shame about Bryans injury, rewatching it and knowing about his arm was hard."
[10.0] "An absolutely PHENOMENAL show. Just great stuff as expected. I would put down some highlights but would be impossible due to how great this show is, so I'll put what I didnt like. Also btw what I didnt like wasnt terrible, It was just good matches but couldnt keep up with the other top tier action on this card and that's fine because again these matcheswere still good just not great like the rest of the show. So ill start with SANADA/JUNGLEBOY. The match wasnt bad but it wasnt as good as I was expecting. I feel Jungle Boy either didnt mesh well with Sanada or just couldnt work a New Japan Style match and that sucks because I was looking forward to seeing Jungle boy have that unexpected New Japan World Title shot and maybe having a match or 2 for NJPW...but atleast it was saved by a memorable segment I didnt see coming for atleast another couple months. 3*. TONI/WILLOW-Makes no sense to have this at forbidden door, it just felt like it coulda happened on a random episode of Dynamite and I wouldn't be surprised If this has happend multiple times. I woulda preferred If the Athena/Starks match from the preshow switched places with this. Also Ik there was alot of interference so it not clean but why make the relatively new and also first NJPW Strong WomensChampion lose the match and look weak. No offense to Willow because I do enjoy her work but, it seemed like she was getting a big break after winning that title from Mercadies in that big match backat theStrong show. I just think it's stupid to book 2 relatively new champions that are relatively popular in the same match. It coulda easily been avoided and we also possibly coulda seen a better match. 2*. This show was absolutely incredible, congrats and thank to AEW and New Japan for making this fantastic dream card. I watched WrestleKingdom live and didnt understand the hype between Kenny and Osprey but good god did they tear the goddamn building and somehow the clouds, sky and whatever the hell else down this time! It broke the matrix it was so good. This one is allways going to be remembered for me, I havent felt that way about watching a wrestlingmatch since I was a kidwatching Wrestle Kingdom 10 for the first time. Ik I only talked about the bad and one good match but doyourself a favor and watch this show it was good! All these matches are all soso good! Like I havent even mentioned my childhood dreammatch I prob played on 2k a million times because I never thought it was a possibility-that being obviously Bryan and Okada. One thing I didnt like about that match was the seizure spot Bryan did but other then that this match was great. Ive watched alot of wrestling but please Bryan dont do that spot again. Ive seen alot discussing deathmatch injuries but I dont think my heart has ever sank to my stomach like that in my life watching wrestling. It didnt even translate well with the live croud just scared tf outta everyone at home. This show is more then likely gonna be PPV of the year.TOPTEIRPPV"
[8.0] "Overall a great show. 4 way is one of the best matches you will see that lasts that long. 10 Man Tag was very fun. Omega vs Ospreay was a fantastic match between two wrestling dynamos. Although Bryan Vs Okada didn't live up to the hype, it was still great and props to Bryan for working through the injury. Overall a high 8 My Ratings MJF Vs Tanahashi 3* Punk Vs Kojima 3.5* 4 Way 4.25* Sanada Vs Perry 3* Ten Man Tag 4* Storm Vs Nightingale 2.75* Omega Vs Ospreay 5* Six Man Tag 2.5* Okada Vs Danielson 4.25*"
[9.0] "Really strong show, anchored by a match of the year contender in Omega vs. Ospreay; a great main event in Danielson vs. Okada that was only slightly held back by Danielson's arm injury; a very fun ten-man tag in Bucks/Page/King/Ishii vs. BCC/Takeshita/Umino; and a strong four-way match in Orange vs. Garcia vs. Shibata vs. ZSJ, as the difficulty for OC in hanging onto his belt continues to increase. Outside of those matches, the rest was mostly very strong - MJF vs. Tanahashi was held back by Tana's physical condition, but was a good win with bragging rights for the champ; SANADA vs. Jungle Boy was a decent title defense but the post-match turn for Perry was more memorable; and Punk vs. Kojima was a solid bout even if I'm not the most excited in the world to see Punk back. The six-man and Women's Title matches were OK too, if not as strong as the rest of the bouts they didn't detract from anything. Just a fast-moving, rock-solid easy watch throughout."
[9.0] "This card was good up and down the card. It's a sshame that we couldn't get everyone on the card but that's why I think this should become a 2 week event similar to mania, would allow for fleshed out stories and more matches."
[9.0] "I think the first Forbidden Door was an all-around stronger show but this one has the advantage in featuring one of the greatest matches of all-time in Omega/Ospreay. The 10-man tag and Danielson/Okada were also bangers but the rest was mostly solid rather than exceptional. Still a fantastic show in what has been a fun summer in AEW."
[6.0] "A disappointing sequel to the original forbidden door for me, where not all the matches lived up to expectations. AEW International Title 4 way was a fun match that probably should have opened the show. The Elite vs BCC was good, but not as good as I expected, Im hoping the blood and guts match will be what I wanted from this match. Omega vs Ospreay 2 was very good, I didnt love it as much as everyone else, but no denying it was a great match with a hot crowd. The main Event was a solid match and had some great spots, but for a dream match like okada vs Bryan Danielson I suppose nothing can live up to my expectations. The rest of the card was pretty disappointing and mediocre and lacked Women's action once again."
[9.0] "I'll be generous and give it a 9 because I enjoyed the show and the 2 awful matches did not take away from my enjoyment of the show. Not as strong as last year but a very strong show with the some very enjoyable matches and the injury in the main event was unfortunate as it stopped it from being an all timer."
[8.0] "The good stuff is great to all timer. The rest is fine enough to get through but maybe could have benefited from removing the Punk vs Kojima and six-man tag."
[9.0] "The Bad: boring womens title match, Sting is really starting to show his age and the crazy Sting spotfest stuff is giving diminishing returns at this point. The Mid: Tanahashi looking like a guy on his last legs (someone get him Rey Mysterio's stem cell guy), IWGP Heavyweight title match was missing the flair that title deserves. The Good: CM Punk got HEAT and him and Kojima had a good match. Jungle Boy turning on hook is exciting. Danielson and Okada felt like they were holding back and still put on a great match. The Elite: The 5 on 5 tag was excellent, Orange Cassidy continues to be the best babyface champion in wrestling and has another great match, Ospreay and Omega with a legit match of the year contender. Excellent show, even better than last years, but still probably not as good as Revolution"
[9.0] "This rating might change as recency bias fades/I am able to watch the PPV (I attended in person), but as it stands I am extremely high on this (note: I did amend my rating from a 10 to a 9 after time passed and I watched the broadcast). As consistent as the first Forbidden Door? I don't think so, but with lower lows here also come higher highs. Nothing on that first card is anywhere close to Omega/Ospreay 2 and I'd say there's maybe only 1 match on the first card better than the 10-man tag. The women's match was a bit underwhelming (I understand the plan was likely Hayter/Mercedes which would have been incredible) but all respect to both women regardless. The 6-man tag was several old guys showing their age and hard to focus on after the insanity that preceded it. It is very unfortunate that Okada/Danielson was affected by Danielson's arm injury. I can't imagine doing anything immediately following a broken forearm, let alone wrestling in front of something like 15000 people for 10 minutes. Omega/Ospreay 2 definitely should have closed the show. I guess the logic there was not to send us home on a loss."
[10.0] "A real feast of wrestling. There wasn't a single match that disappointed me enough, even the women's and 6 men's tag team matches were good. Every wrestler here is the GOAT their generations. And of course, this show featured a live wrestling classic, the Omega and Ospreay match, I can't even find the words to describe it. Brilliant work of brilliant wrestlers."
[9.0] "MJF Vs Hiroshi, a very good match, MJF showed off a lot; Punk Vs Kojima, I loved this match; AEW International Title Four Way Match, Cassidy shone, everyone made this match fabulous; Sanada Vs Perry, it was adequate, but it did not seem to me of the caliber of PPV; Perry's turn to heel seems appropriate to me, but it's strange to see Hook so victimized, I think they should have chosen another "victim" although that way they will give relevance to the FTW championship; a fabulous match between The Elite, Kingston and Ishii Vs BCC, Takeshita and Shota, an excellent example of sports entertainment, feast of movements and bestiality; Storm Vs Willow, a bit disappointing, but not too bad; damn genius the special entrance of Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay, it felt epic; Omega Vs Ospreay, a love letter to true Wrestling; Bryan Danielson Vs Okada, an elegantly bestial match; a show with only two unenjoyable matches, but from there, this PPV was excellent."
[4.0] "A rather rushed buildup led to a rather forgettable PPV outside of one match. Many matches such as the Six-Man Tag, AEW and IWGP Championship matches, and the AEW Womans championship match all had the builds of matches youd expect to see on weekly TV and they played out as underwhelming as such. On the topic of underwhelming, the Danielson Okada main event was nowhere near the level expected. While part of that could be due to the unfortunate injury, the match was unable to make up for the lackluster undercard. However, Omega Ospreay did coke close to redeeming it. This is a must-watch match, somehow exceeding the sky-high expectations. Overall, this PPV underwhelmed."
[9.0] "A very good event for the second Forbbiden Door in history, but it was not better than the first and some fights were not as expected but others were pretty good."
[9.0] "There weren't necessarily 'lows' as much as their were disappointments and underwhelming moments. But my god, were the highs so high. The four way, 10 man tag, and Omega/Ospreay were all some of my favourite matches of the year."
[9.0] "It may not have hit its full potential, but regardless this was a supremely entertaining event that had me gripped from start to finish. Although some matches were disappointing, I honestly don't think there was a bad match or weak spot on this show. Lots of great matches with a hot crowd, this is a winner."
[9.0] "It was a great show even if there were some matches that didn't pan out. Kenny vs Ospreay is definitely MOTY. The Ten Man Tag Team match also is a contender for MOTY."
[10.0] "I have to give this a 10 because it was absolutely a great watch. Even the so so matches were fun, and the great matched were outstanding. The Elite-BCC match was one of my favorites of the year, and the Omega-Osprey was as good as it gets. Danielson with his broken arm, Sabre Jr torturing Orange Cassidy, the crowd booing Punk, and my favorite female Toni Storm were my highlights. The two top moments were Takeshita's elbow on Ishii and Osprey driving Omega's head through the sign."
[7.0] "Good pay per view, but the first Forbidden Door was much better. Every match delivered there, but here there were some bad matches. I was hoping for something more in Minoru Suzuki match. Last year they put a banger so I expected from them to do better. Also a big minus for me was a match placement. Ospreay vs Omega should definitly be main event. It was hard to watch the matches after this knowing that Ospreay vs Omega did something much better."
