[4.0] "Only memorable thing of this Raw is Steve Austin stunning everyone to get ready for the Royal Rumble. Nothing memorable match wise. A lotta bad Attitude era shlock like Black face Goldust and crash tv."

[6.0] "Not really a great show when it comes to the matches and I think I'm going to be saying that a lot about the 1998 shows, but its memorable with its storylines and angles. The main stuff here is Austin raising hell and interrupting matches giving people fighting him at the Royal Rumble a Stunner. My favourite one was the one on Jeff Jarrett because of the strut. The DX segment at the end was good where Undertaker appears in a casket to drag Michaels inside it. The Hell in a Cell video package to build up the Casket match at the Rumble was really good as well. Shamrock vs Faarooq was decent because of the multiple storylines involved where it's continuing to tease Faarooq's dissension with The Rock and the Marc Mero vs Tom Brandi match was well built over the last few weeks with Brandi's compassion for Sable when she gets injured costing him. Theres an interview with Don King there to hype up Mike Tyson appearing at Wrestlemania, which was a big moment. This had a really bad Goldust match where he wrestles Flash Funk in blackface and the whole NWA angle was a bit of a wet fart storyline reveal."

Great ending with Undertaker dragging Michaels into the casket and the show going off of the air."

[7.0] "Really enjoyable show, even if there was a huge focus on building storylines rather than wrestling. Not an issue for me, the cheesy-good action out of the ring is a large part of what's made this era of the WWF/WWE so fun for me. That said, the matches in the show are far from bad. Not too sure what the point of the NWA cameo was though. THe old guard being mad about the soapification of WWE makes sens this just felt like it came out of nowhere and didn't garner any pops. Also, the whole Marc Mero story is as dumb as it ever was."

[7.0] "First Raw of 1998. It's not great or something but this episode is just an enjoyable one. Stone Cold gave stunners to various superstars during the show and those moments are cool. NWA North American title is a pretty good idea but executed bad with nobody cared about it. DX and Owen Hart had another good confrontation. Undertaker attacking Michaels from the cascet is a great moment for that feud."

[6.0] "Overall, fun show. Clearly more about the angles than the wrestling, i mean... this is 1998 after all. But it got me interested in the HBK/Taker, Taker/Kane, Austin, Nation, etc. angles"
